lauraloo09 · 09/09/2009 18:25

hiya all hope you have all had a good day.
I went to the clinic that does implants and i have an appointment for 3 weeks time to have it removed, they didn't put up a fight when i mentioned 3 little words Post Natal Depression so thank god its coming out Shame i'm bleeding just now and have read this can last weeks hopefully it subsides soon.

naat re scratching at breast, obviously cos I am not BF'ing i haven't experienced this but when I feed sarah her bottle she starts to put her hand on my chest and scratch, or she takes hold of a finger and clenches a fist the unclenches, its the cutest thing ever

choccie good for you standing up to your neighbours, agree with other juners about men not liking confrontation and maybe thats why your DH was reluctant to say anything, but good on you

bigcar how's your BSL class going? I was studying sign language before but fell away from the class but so tempted to go to college to start it up again. I'd love to learn it, I even watch Something Special every morning on CBeebies as it does sign language (i know CBeebies is for babies but i love that programme and In the Night Garden how sad am I lol)

effie glad to hear Flynn was ok during his pre-school boosters and hope he enjoyed his kinder eggs Glad to hear Rupert is sleeping better too x

llynn how was swimming?

hellos to everyone else and again i know i am missing loads of people!

Could you lovely ladies keep a friend of mine in your prayers/thoughts. I just found out today that she found a lump on her breast 3 weeks ago and she gets the results tomorrow. Her doc said that the lump measures 3cm by 2cm and does not look good. My friend is only 25 so we are all praying it is just a cyst, but can't help thinking the worst

Naat · 10/09/2009 09:34

Morning Juners!

Laura, great news on the implant front! Glad to hear they'll take it out soon. I'm so sorry to hear about your friend, she's in my prayers.

Effie, hmmm the only one I know was the one I used to go for the aquanatal classes and I saw 1-2yr olds go for a swimming class after mine but I don't know if it's good or not for babies re.hygene... The pool itself has loads of chlorine but it's a big pool and loads of people go as well so I'm not sure it'd be good according to your HV/GP I'll enquire about any other! The pinching thing is good to keep me awake but I also have tiny marks all over not a happy mummy

Right, yesterday I tried to feed and feed Mila as of 6pm so as to build up her milk intake and instead of waking up 4 times she woke up 3... soooo looking forward to nights similar to the ones I had last week when she woke up only once. I am one tired mummy these days.

My dad is leaving tomorrow so we're going out today and will try and enjoy the day. It's sunny and apparently we'll have 19 degrees so that's good news.

Hope you all have a lovely day. (((waves to all)))

bigcar · 10/09/2009 11:05

morning all

interesting comments about swimming, I really can't remember, do they advise you wait till after the last set of jabs at 16 weeks? We got Edward one of those little sun suits in the sales for swimming, thought it may give him a little extra warmth in the pool. Dh has taken the older kids swimming a couple of times recently and I've always used that as a good excuse to sit on the side with Edward and catch up with a book!

effie, ahh, the bribery and corruption method hopefully an end to pooey pants for you, well for a couple of years!

choccie, glad you spoke to your neighbour I would think that is perfectly reasonable, he's using you as a babysitter by the sounds of it as it doesn't seem to be reciprocal at all, wonder how long it will be before other neighbours start saying similar things to him. Pleased to hear ds2 is settling well into school, it's a big step

erm, when you run for president on the policy of late return of periods after childbirth and getting boys bum wiping on the national curriculum you'll definitely be getting my vote Arthur sounds like he's getting good at sleeping now, it makes everything so much easier if you've had a good nights sleep

naat, British Sign Language, it's definitely an interest but also a bit of a necessity with dd3 being deaf. I need to expand my vocabulary and learn the grammar structure (as it's different to spoken english), I don't think asking an adult if they need their nappy changing is going to be much use that's the sort of level we are at with dd3s signing. Edward does that pawing thing when he feeds, it's very cute but his nails do catch sometimes! As laura says, he likes to hold a finger sometimes or I give him a scrunched up muslin to hold. I don't really fancy trying to cut his nails just yet Hope you have a really good day with your dad today

laura, great news on the implant front, at least they didn't put up a fight The BSL course has been good so far, only done the first week so it could all change yet I think it's a great skill to have as well as being useful to put down as a second language on your cv. Dd3 is a big ITNG fan and something special, won't be long before Sarah is into all that sort of thing, so you are obviously doing all the right preparation Will be thinking of your friend today, let us know how she gets on x

well it's another lovely day here again, bit chilly first thing, had to wrap Edward up for the school run, feels funny doing that after spending weeks trying to make sure he didn't overheat. Haven't quite broken out the woolly hats for the mornings but can't see it being too long now. Will be taking the kids conkering over the weekend, of course dh will get upset when one of the kids beats him but hey ho that's the whole competitive dad thing Dh is terrible for that, I remember once at the park when he was pushing the kids on the swings, our kids had to be going higher than the dads stood next to him

waves to all

ermintrude13 · 10/09/2009 11:28

Bigcar lol @ your competitive DH . They don't ever completely grow up, do they? Glad the BSL course is going well. It's a lovely day here but there is that chill on the morning school run. I love baby hats so will only need the tiniest excuse to put one on Arthur.

Naat don't think I could cope with all those night wakings, I take my hat off to you and feel v fortunate that A has usually only woken once per night between the hours of 10 and 6, and gone down for another couple of hours after that feed. He does feed constantly from about 8 to 10 though - I was almost feeling sore yesterday - which I assume is him stocking up for the night. I'm getting a block of 5-6 hours followed by another one or two at the moment, so feeling quite perky. I wonder if there's a way of getting Mila 'tanked up' a bit later than 6pm, then she might last longer?

All mine have scratched and squeezed while they feed. And now Arthur has worked out how to slip his hand round the side and knead my fat. I find it quite sweet

I think swimming is recommended after all jabs have been completed, and most pools are fine because they're all chlorinated.

MrsMcJnr · 10/09/2009 12:30

Hey ladies, been really busy in a lovely way since our friends arrived from Scotland. They also brought goodies

Aaliyah?s sleep has been a bit disjointed for the last few nights; some nights she has wanted to be fed every couple of hours again, must be a growth spurt. DS is napping again quite nicely which is great, evenings are getting better too Dh.. well.. watch this space

Worriedamy ? glad you had fun at the ducks, the simple things in life hey! You?ve made me think, there are actually some ducks I could take DS to see but they are up a big hill maybe when it?s cooler! Your sister looks really like you I think! Thanks for all the compliments. You should see Aaliyah?s wardrobe, people have been so generous! I?ve not bought her a thing to wear! Good idea to let DP have Caelan to settle him, I try to give Aaliyah to DH more even if she prefers to be with me! I?ve felt ovulation type pains recently but nothing has come of it yet. I?m not surprised though I did not even have a period before I got pregnant with Aaliyah and DS was 7 months (and only just stopped BFing a couple of weeks beforehand)

June ? so glad to hear that you are having a lovely time I think we are getting to end of the Moses basket too as Aaliyah?s feet are too now! That co-sleep bed looks good. I wish I?d bought one of those cots that attachs to the side of the bed now, the benefit of hindsight hey! Both babies have liked the Amby though so I haven?t gone far wrong!

Effie ? love the pics, so gorgeous. I will load one to make you laugh of what DS does to his room every time I put him in there to sleep ? he trashes the place! also loaded one of both my babes together taken yesterday and a funny buggy shot! Hope you feel much better today. Poor DS1 with the boosters, glad he got over it the proper way ? with chocolate potty training sounds like it is going well too as does Rupert?s sleeping I haven?t taken Aaliyah swimming yet but would love to, my worry is outdoor pools being too cold and not clean enough and the risk of sunburn. I think if the pool is warm and clean enough, why not take him? It?s easier to make sure he doesn?t swallow the water than with older kids.

Ermintrude ? I think Aaliyah would enjoy the space of the cot though she still loves her Amby so now that I have removed the cot from DS?s room I might make it up in hers so she can have naps in there so many people here frown at me when I say I don?t give Aaliyah water and give me concerned looks when I say she doesn?t need it because breast milk adapts. I do watch her carefully but she has plenty of wet nappies, feeds often and looks fine so I don?t think she needs extra. I wish I had a flexible career I could work in round the kids. Maybe I need a new one, any suggestions?

Silkcushion ? I do admire you for going to the gym, I haven?t done the Davina DVD for over a week now. Sorry to hear you are not looking forward to your return to work, hope it is much better than you anticipate.

Naat ? hope you are having lots of fun with your Dad, enjoy his last day. Hope you start getting more sleep soon, maybe it?s a growth spurt and Mila will settle down soon. Aaliyah sort of bites me even though she has no teeth, ouch! Why don?t you try mits on her at feeding time?

Laura ? can?t help on the implant front but am sorry to hear that its not working well for you and that your are suffering sorry to hear about your friend, hoping the prognosis is better than expected I can?t stand that Justin bloke on Cbeebies but I do pick up surprising amounts of sign language on his programme so he can?t be all bad.

Llynnnn ? how lovely to have a joint christening! I drew up a list of guests for Aaliyah?s yesterday and got to 65! I am catering at home afterwards so I had better get cooking and freezing and hope for sun as the inside of the flat will be cramped with all those folk! Hope you had fun swimming. DH and I took the kids down to the pool yesterday, Aaliyah obligingly slept so I could play with DS

Bigcar ? wow, I am so impressed that you are doing a course, I can see why you want to be ?fluent? I?m glad Edward was so good whilst you were out, will make you enjoy that time away more

Choccie ? glad to hear you are having good weather it?s overcast here today and I love it, it feels so cool but it is in reality still 29C. Glad to hear that you spoke to the neighbour, I think you were very restrained! Hope he has got the message. Glad to hear DS2 is settling into school well

Effielou · 10/09/2009 15:29

Hi fellow Juners,

What a lovely sunny day we are having xx

Poo gate- ummm didn't make the potty-- but the corner of my armchair!! not a happy mummy- he then went on to continue on the potty and wanted his chocolate reward!!! but wicked mummy said no as the armchair is not a toilet!!!

We has a 5.35 wake up instead of 6.20-- I think I'd prefer a 3am wake up instead as I coud get a better, longer sleep, as I went back to sleep for DHs alarm to go off 45mins later xxx

bigcar My hubbys competetive too-- he sulks if he looses!!!!

laura glad the implant is coming out

mrsmc look forward to seeing the pics!!lol

Have a good day

ps swimming my friends daughter- took her daughter swimming at 7weeks- after her first jabs on the same HV advice!! I think that is too young. Rupert was past his 2nd jabs x but won't take him again til after his last lot xxx

chocciedooby · 10/09/2009 16:08

Oh Naat - you poor thing. You seem to be having a rough time of it during the nights. I don't really know how to help you but really hope things improve for you soon. You must be exhausted.
Hi Ermin - Yes I was pleased that I had spoken with neighbour and got things out in the open but then yesterday afternoon the grandma was at the door with 1 of the girls! It's as if the whole family can't cope with minding their own children.....I was up to my eyes at the time she called and I had to say no again. It is so embarressing. You are so right, I don't think that the childrens mother knows what is going on but then when they were trying to ditch on Monday she had the day off work so the 2 of them were in the house...
She is the breadwinner and I rarely see her.

Naat · 10/09/2009 19:06

Hi all!

choccie, oh that sounds fishy... they ditch their DC even if both are at home? Anyway, the good thing is that your foot is still down and you're being assertive Well done you!!

Ermin, oh yes, loads of kneading here as well... she does that exact movement with my boobs ouch! I feel a bit of at all of you getting decent sleep I'll try the stock feeding from 8 to 10 today and see how that goes. Fingers crossed!

Bigcar, that sounds interesting and I'm sure you'll love being able to communicate better with DD3 Oh I have had to clip Mila's nails for weeks now as she scratched both me and herself so much... I'm amazed at how much they grow and how fast!

Effie, ouch, sorry to hear about the poo accident today... LOL at him demanding his chocolate anyway Don't tell me you didn't want to laugh a bit Sorry, it's not funny, I know

Mrsmc, glad you're having lovely days with friends Some biting here as well (oh yes, she's a handful as you can see ) but only when she's feeding AND feels like stretching GLad DS is napping fine. LOL at him trashing his room every night! Oh my! Poor mummy! I thought we didn't need to give them any water until they started taking solids, as bmilk was enough...

Right, we had a lovely sunny day here and walked around town with my dad, did some last-minute shopping (him) and had lunch together. I can't believe he's leaving tomorrow... this week has flown by! I'm really tired, I really hope tonight is a better night, my eyes itch!!

Quick question: (my dad actually asked me and I didn't know what to answer) Are our LOs ever seen by paediatricians? Up to now we've seen MWs, HVs, nurses. How does it work?

Waves to all!!!

xxx

bigcar · 10/09/2009 19:37

choccie, I'm at your neighbours, sending granny round now with the kids, glad you stuck to your guns!

MrsMcJnr, sounds like you've been off having fun Your ds could possibly rival my ds1 looking at that photo of his room

effie, erm, my dh sulks too, it's so funny to watch

naat, our los don't routinely see a paediatrician. The gp and hv are expected to deal with most things, it's only if there's something a little more serious that you get referred to the paediatrician at the hospital. Sounds like you've had a great time with your dad

Edward has a tooth, I'm It's one of the bottom side ones. None of the other dcs have had a tooth before 6 months and it's usually the front ones that come first

June2009 · 10/09/2009 23:46

back from france (wicked time !!!) and Calypso's in her little cot. She looked ridiculously big in her moses. Awwww, the end of an era. It's going to be weird not having her in our room, I wonder if I'll sleep.

I'll try and catch up with you all over the weekend!

lauraloo09 · 11/09/2009 08:19

june glad you had a good time in France, and yey on Calypso being in her cot, I will be trying to get Sarah into her cotbed once we get back from Liverpool next wednesday.

bigcar at Edward cutting his first tooth already. I think Sarah is teething more now as she puts everything she can in her mouth, she screams at night for about 1 hour and i know its not colic and now her wee cheeks go bright red and she drools like mad.

naat the only time Sarah saw a pedeatrician (sp?) was in hospital 1 day after my section. I think its just docs and HV's we see unless, like bigcar said, there is something seriously wrong. Shame your dad is leaving maybe he could come visit again soon, or it could be your turn to visit him with Mila

effie shame Flynn still hasn't mastered potty training yet, hopefully he does soon so he doesn't ruin any more armchairs x

mrsmcjnr glad you had a good day with your friends, and enjoy the goodies they brought you over

hello to the rest of the juners hope you and babies are well x

Sarah has now been sleeping from 10pm until 5ish for a week now and its wonderful, esp when she goes back to sleep until 8 The HV is due to visit today so will find out what weight Sarah is now, she was 12lb 4oz 3 weeks ago so i think she will be around 13lb 5oz.

I can't believe it is 8 years today since the trade centres being brought down...god where did 8 years go it seems like only a year ago!

chocciedooby · 11/09/2009 09:42

Good Morning Juners

Just back from the school run (phew).

Had a strange morning. DS1 was playing up and dh was not impressed. DS tried to slap daddy in the face and was kicking etc. Anyway during all of this he fell on the door saddle with his finger straight out and it swelled up right away and is a bit red. He was crying but then DS1 does cry a lot when being bold. I brought him to school as he could wiggle his finger and I didn't think it was that serious but he held it in his other hand all the way into class like a wounded soldier Now I am feeling like a bad parent. I didn't go in to talk to his teacher about it as he has just started to go into school by himself this week and its impossible to get in the doors with a buggy etc. I saw him through the classroom window talking to his teacher. We had a wave and that was that. I just feel so bad leaving him in especially if he can't write

Then I received a text from the neighbour (mother) next door. She is offering me loads of baby girl clothes (said she has boxes of stuff back out of storage). Said doesn't want to offend or insult but I can take what suits me. I feel a bit strange about it all tbh. She is being very kind etc but I can't help thinking its a bit out of guilt or something as well.
Wihtout sounding ungrateful I have also received tons of hand me down clothes from friends already and have nowehre to put the stuff! What do I do???? Why can't I deal with these trivial things very well anymore??? I used to be a career woman for goodness sake.

Naat - sorry to hear your dad is going home. bet you will miss him. Sounds like you had a fab time though.

June - well done for getting Calypso into her cot. I know I need to move Elina out of our room soon (I think dh wants to so we can start have rumpy pumpy again) . I have decided I will move her as soon as I have painted it

Bigcar - A tooth already!!!Wow. My DS1 didn't get his first until he was 13 months old.

Hey Lauraloo

ermintrude13 · 11/09/2009 09:43

Hi All

Getting ready for the trip to London tonight for my sis's wedding tomorrow so am a bit too frantic to post properly. But hope you all have lovely sunny weekends xx

lauraloo09 · 11/09/2009 09:47

erm hope you have a good time at your sister's wedding x

chocciedooby · 11/09/2009 09:51

Have a ball at the wedding Ermin The weather forecast is very good

Skillbo · 11/09/2009 13:34

Hello

I hope you don't mind me joining your thread so late in the day but I have only just found these postnatal threads.

I am very lucky with my little girl, Jasmine, who is chilled out, feeding and sleeping well and a smiley little thing but it will be such a relief to be able to talk with you all whose babies are exactly the same age. Having never done this before, it will be great to know that there are just things they go through at certain ages.

I'm now going to have a read of what you've all been up to before Jazzy wakes up (first afternoon nap for ages so hope it will be a long one!!).

Take care and chat soon

LittleSarah · 11/09/2009 16:54

Hi Skillbo, you very welcome here of course, when was Jasmine born? And how was labour?

Naat - Oh I feel for you with the sleeping, you are a true hero to me to always sound so bright and cheery and have finished your dissertation and generally seem to be doing fine despite it all!

Bigcar - A tooth! Wow! Dd got her first tooth about 9/10 months. I wonder if Alex might be sooner though as you can see a couple of buds and I don't remember that with dd.

ermin - Check you and all your fabulous weddings! I will also be out this weekend but just down at a pub in the shore (The Waterline for the ex-Edinburgers). Dh's best mate (and man) is going to Thailand with his girlfriend for a year so it is a goodbye thing. Dh is going straight after work (so about 2ish) so I expect he will get rather drunk. I won't be joining them til about 6 ish and plan to be relatively well behaved. MIL was possibly going to babysit (as my mum has been ill) but I have to admit I'm glad she won't be. She said to my SIL, 'oh I'm going to be looking after Alex alone, I don't know, for five hours, it might be a bit much for me'. Lol. She has had three children and it wouldn't have been five hours, four max and he would have been ASLEEP! Good lord. (PS She is also in no way elderly, only 48 but on the selfish side, she wanted dh and I to drop him at her house and look after him there). Anyway we are all happy now as she wants to go out dancing anyway!

Have a great time at the wedding!

Choccie - Well done for talking to the neighbour. I can see why you are wondering about the clothes. I came home yesterday and my neighbour was asking me about my washing on the line. I said yes I keep meaning to take it but I just haven't got round to it. She then said she was going to get it for me but she didn't have anything to put it in and did I want her to get it for me now? Now she was very lovely about it so I'm sure she was just trying to be helpful but a part of me did wonder. Is she gently scolding me for leaving my washing out for a while 36 hours? (There is plenty of space for washing btw, it wasn't getting in anyone's way) I'm sure not but I was a bit taken aback.

Laura - I hope your friend is okay. Both my granny and my mum survived breast cancer so even if the news is bad try not to worry too much.

June - Welcome home, glad you had a great time.

I have been very good today. I put out washing (yes more washing neighbour) and put away washing and inspired by The Pauper's Cookbook (fab fab fab and I only just got it!) I have made vegetable stock, chicken liver pate and dinner is baking a way (pork and beans US style).

I feel so productive. Even better it means when dh asks innocently 'so what did you do today?' I won't defensively say something like 'you know just fed, held and played with our son, and perhaps managed to do some dishes and put a washing on. It's not easy at home you know!' Okay I don't usually say that but I do sometimes think it.

Oh and I had my first driving lesson yesterday and I have to admit being pleasantly surprised. It wasn't as scary as expected, and neither was I as bad as expected. I can't imagine ever being used to it, being able to do it naturally, or going over 15mph!

Hi to everyone!

Wait. Did someone - llynnn? - ask where I got the anniversary book? It is bobbooks.co.uk, daisy recommended!

Skillbo · 11/09/2009 17:24

It's nice to feel so welcome!

Jasmine was born on the 14th June so slap bang in the middle of the month. I was only in labour for 12 hours in the end, which is good apparently for your first. Wasn't planned that way but when I spoke to the unit at the hospital (my midwifes had all their mobiles forwarded there as it was the middle of the night) they kept telling me that it would be ages yet as it was my first. Ended up going in at 8cm - god, when that gas and air canister arrived, I could've sucked it for ever. Jazzy got stuck so ended in forceps in the end which caused a bit of problems with her feeding (realy sore jaw so couldn't open her mouth wide enough to latch properly).

To be honest, the breastfeeding was the hardest thing I have done for years and if I had joined the thread any earlier, that's probably all you would have heard from me. It took us 10 weeks to actually get it so it no longer hurt - but so glad I persevered.

I have been trying to catch up on all the posts and there are a couple of things that I might be able to advise/blether on about...

Me and Jazzy have been swimming a couple of times at the local council run pool. They wouldn't let us in until she'd had her first jabs. If the truth be told, it's probably a bit of a waste of money as it's 4 squid for half an hour and at Jazzy's age, she can't handle the water for too long before she gets cold. It's fun though so would recommend going if you're in two minds... she hates being dunked - her little face when it comes up again is very funny (shouldn't laugh as I am sure it is very traumatic for her ).

Sleep wise - we have managed to get into quite a good routine which I think has been our saviour. We brought it in at 8 weeks (I posted on the behaviour thread here and everyone who replied pretty much said they had started at 6 weeks - and I thought 8 wks was a bit too young!) She now wakes up once, maybe twice but that's from about 7.30pm through to about 7ish, so we are pretty blessed. I do sympathise with those frequent wakers - when she went through her last growth spurt, she was awake every hour and a half for a few nights and I was the living dead! Anyways, it works for us so it might be something to consider (the routine goes bath, massage occasionally, feed and then about 10 minutes of quiet time where we chat to her about our days or read a story - she has no idea what's going on but it's nice and DP gets a chance to hang with her when she's all warm and snuggled). Oh, and swaddling is the best thing EVER!!

I have to say about those cheeky as f* neighbours - what the hell? I wouldn't stand for it at all and I think you have been very patient and far too nice to them. It's hard to be so firm but I'm in a ground floor flat, surrounded by inconsiderate neighbours, and I think you have been more than reasonable! (I've ended up on the street at 4.30am screaming at the ones next door as they thought it was ok to have baaad salsa music blaring - not my finest moment).

Well, I best get on - my DP is incredible supportive but I do sometimes feel a bit guilty that I haven't got much done whilst he's been at work since 6.45am... However, as LittleSarah says, playing and feeding etc is a lot harder than anyone without kids would credit..

bigcar · 11/09/2009 17:49

afternoon all

june, so pleased you had such a good time with your family. C's in her cot, they are all growing up so fast aren't they

laura, E has been a bit unsettled with his teeth, will probably get him some teething gel tomorrow as rubbing his gums calms him right down. I bought him a gel teether that's in the fridge cooling so will give that a go too. E is also having a drool fest, it ran all down my arm earlier

choccie, hope your ds was ok today, our school don't let you in with buggies so you have my sympathies. I'm sure school would have rung if it was really hurting. I think with your neighbour I would just be honest, thank her for the incredibly kind offer but say everyones been so kind passing stuff on that you've got too much stuff already and it would be such a shame to take things she wouldn't have time to wear before she grew out of them

erm, have a lovely weekend

skillbo, welcome Pleased to hear Jasmine is doing well!

littles, at your mil, hope you have a great night out I don't think there are many of us that haven't left washing out like that before now Leave this lot out and see if she'll do it again My stock reply to dh on what I have done today is, I sit on my arse and drink tea all day dontcha know Well done on the driving lesson, dh is learning and has his (2nd!) test at the end of the month.

Well the dcs have come home moaning about homework today, so all's back to normal! Dd3 was registered as partially sighted by her eye doctor this morning, we've known it was coming for a while, so no big shock, just not very nice seeing it in writing.

hope you all have a good weekend, waves to all

bigcar · 11/09/2009 17:59

skillbo, x posts, it takes sooooo long to post with lo on knee It's a shame you didn't find us earlier, you wouldn't have been the only one struggling with feeding 12 hours is pretty good for a first baby, if you want to read about any of our births they will mostly be on our last antenatal thread.

Naat · 11/09/2009 20:57

Hi lovely Juners!!!

Skillbo, welcome! Glad to hear things with Jazmine are going well and that feeding is not torture anymore Ohhh lucky lady on the sleeping front!

LittleS, I saw it on FB! Well done! I'm sure you'll be driving in no time I must get on with that as well, DH nags me about it all the time and I'm sooo afraid Hope you enjoy your night out at your MIL. Glad she's not going to babysit after all I'd also had been wary of the "washing" comment Let's see what she says next time LOL

Choccie, sorry to hear about what happened to DS this morning Hope his finger is better now. Ohh I second bigcar re. the best thing to say to your neighbour.

Ermin, have a great time at your sister's wedding. As Choccie said, the forecast is looking good!

Bigcar, at the tooth! Sorry about dd3's registration by the eye doctor although you said you sort of knew it already ((hug))

June, welcome back! So glad you had a lovely time in France.

Right, better news on the sleeping front (but shhhhhhhhhhhhhh let's not jinx it pleeeease ) I did what Ermin suggested (you rock lady!) and stock-fed her from 8 to 10.30 yesterday and she slept from 10.30 till 3!!! then fed and slept till 6.45!!! You have no idea how refreshed I felt this morning even after only one good night

My dad left today, Mila and I stayed with him at the airport until he had to leave so we had some more hours together

No more visitors for us in the foreseeable future so it's back to the 3 of us...

Thank you all for your answers re. paediatrcians much clearer now

Morning all.

Again, sorry I haven't been around. I'm feeling some better, thanks to my meds ramping up, but poor Adam had an upset tummy for a few days, including some lovely vomiting on mummy and daddy and some lovely bright green poo!

Oh and I'm definitely seeing some teething symptoms...and he's only 3 months as of yesterday.

I'll try to read through, but we all know how hard it is to keep up!

Welcome skillbo!

I hope everyone has the nice weather we have here today! Off to shower and then go out with my boys!

Hugs to all the Juners!!!

hey Tee Hope you're ok. Sorry to hear about Adam's tummy
I've been meaning to ask you about something you sent a link for a long time ago, it was for a cot, to use instead of bumpers. It looked like lemon muslin wrap.
Do you know what I mean? I'm looking for some now and I can't find your link.
choccie I hope the situation with your neighbours improves soon, it's unnecessary stress for you!
naat how's the sleeping now? I'm sure you'll enjoy the time you have just the three of you. We still get regular visitors and sometimes I wish there was at least a whole 2 weeks with no-one.

Calypso slept until quite late in France and I think it's also due to the fact that they have heavy shutters that completely block the light out. She would sleep until 8 or 9 am. (admitedly that's 7 or 8 uk time).
She's been sleeping in her cot here and wakes up at 6h30.

I'm bit worried that she's too attached to her dummy.
If she's tired and cries, if I give her the dummy she's asleep in 2 seconds flat. otherwise she's just restless until I rock her to sleep or sing to her. She does sometimes get put to bed as soon as she yawns and will fall asleep on her own but not always.
Do your babies self soothe yet?

I've not managed to catch up with everything,
silk sorry you've got to go back to work. I started work a week after birth but only part time and from home.
littleS good luck with the driving, it's really convenient!
bigcar wow, a tooth :D Calypso's showing some teething symptoms but there is nothing there yet.
mrsmc what goodies did your friends bring you? hope dh is behaving.
skillbo welcome :D I also find the thread a lifesaver during pregnancy, you could not ask for a lovelier bunch of people.
lynn how is it going?
erm where abouts in your london are you? I used to hate going to weddings until mine, now I love everything about them! how nice to see your sister get married, can't wait for my little bro's turn though he has to find a girl first...
laura glad you can get the implant out soon, sorry you're not having a really good time. I think about you everytime I get into a lift you know

Our trip back took exactly 12 hours and most of it was me driving, I'm knackered and woke up with a BIG migrainy headache.
off to get my hair done in half an hour and hoping I feel better after that!

Hi to everybody I missed, I tend to check the thread from my phone at night when i can't get any sleep and I usually forget what I want to say by the time I get to a computer the next day!

take care

Tee2072 · 12/09/2009 17:09

june I think I bought it from here.

Adam uses a dummy for falling asleep 99% of the time. As far as I am concerned, that
is self soothing. I really don't get why people have problems with dummies. I would rather he suck a dummy than his thumb. A dummy I can eventually not let him have any more. His thumb? Permanently attached!!

Hi Juners!

Tee, don't you worry about catching up, remember what you usually tell us when we apologise Glad you're feeling better but sorry to hear about Adam's upset tummy Hope it passes soon. OH! It was freaky to read your last post as those EXACT same words came out of my mouth yesterday when talking to DH about dummies and thumbs He was SO against it at the beginning and I had to do some serious negotiation with him as Mila was soothing herself with me Mila uses it to sleep and to calm down when crying on her carseat

June, ouch, sorry to hear about your headache...hope it goes away soon. Glad to hear Calypso is sleeping so well! Mila usually falls asleep "on her own" during the night (with a few pats on her arm) but not during the day

Mila yesterday woke up 4 times again but to be fair with her I couldn't stock feed her as we got home late and when we finished giving her a bath she was sooo tired she fell asleep at 9ish Sooo today we're back at feeding her a lot until 10 and hoping we have a night like Thursday's

We had a lovely sunny day today let's hope for another one tomorrow

Right, this post has taken me ages! Have a lovely night everyone! Waves!!!
