TBH I really think it is more about him than H. He just really wants to do some feeds. Have said that he may just have to see feeding as my thing, what with me having the breasts, but he can do everything else! It doesn't help, though, that a bit of breast is often the only thing that will soothe a grizzly babe.

Purple - I've had my provisional licence for (mumble mumble) years . It expires in 2014 so have had it since when? Never had one lesson! And now we can neither afford lessons or a second car, so I don't see the point.

We are watching Dora the Explorer. I haven't been paying too much attention, but it is a bit disturbing. They are saving 100 puppies - I'm wondering why all the puppies are locked up in the first place and what was going to happen to them.

OMG! Fred and George aren't ginger in real life! And Malfoy seems like a nice young man.

Wonder if HBP will be on at any baby-friendly showings?

Oh I hope it (HBP) is!

Took another test this morning....
It's a negative. Which has relieved a lot of my current stress. I had horrible night trying to sleep last night imagining juggling 1yr and newborn...DH was all excited about the prospect though . He ain't the one doing all the daily kid watching though.

I had to rescue and console with the breast 2 times last night and at 7 this morning (but 7 is when we're usually up)...poor Meg kept getting herself in the rails half way up the bed, though since she wasn't at the opposite end of the bed I guess it's better... but I'm one tired chicky.
The rolled up blanket didn't help/seem to make a difference by the way.

Bleu, if you want me to order that zen thing and post it on to you, let me know!
presume you can get sth like it in the UK, though?

I'm tempted. DH thinks I'm all paranoid and being silly. I'm going to have a look for something over here because I'm tired and annoyed too because he slept right through her cries. And I just want to be sure she's safe and doesn't do herself some damage.

I did have one other idea though which I'm going to try out too...tell me if it makes sense in your minds...
If I put her in a sleeping bag thingy, when she dug her heels in she'd be digging against the back of the bag which would in theory 'pin' her into place. (Does that sound right/reasonable?)
I was going to sew a really light weight (sheet material) bag together today and see if it works this aft/evening. Even if it doesn't work, it is something I've been thinking of doing since the weather got warm as she kicks of the sheet all the time anyhow.

Hello April mums The thread title made me think I'd better get my arse into gear and actually post something instead of just lurking...

Oscar is now a bit fat baby - he's 10 weeks this sunday and weighs nearly 15lb but it is totally untrue that big babies sleep better as he still wakes every 3 hours in the night to feed (yaaaaaaaawn!!)

I'm loving being a mummy (Oscar is my pfb) but hoping the sleep will improve soon or my eye bags will be reaching my knees.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say hello - this thread has kept me sane over the past few months during the night feeds, but I'm rubbish at one-handed typing, hence the lack of posts...

I'll add some more pics to my profile so you can see how enormous my son is...

Thanks Nutty. I'll have a look at Asda during our daily walk there. When I mentioned such a thing to DH he just shook his head. (Boy is he annoying/unhelpful when I'm in a bad mood/tired)

Bleu - I think the grobag idea sounds perfect. I would imagine you are right and she will pin herself down with her own feet.

Hey Bicnod !!

I don't think Hugo will ever be 15lb. I blame myself. When he was new I said I loved having a newborn and he was so lovely I didn't ever want him to get any bigger. And he is kindly obliging!

Now, this thing with leg creases. H has one crease behind one knee and two behind the other. Is this A Bad Thing?

I know! The sparkles and tickers and things are mental, are they not!

I'm not really worried. His hips have been checked three times since his was born, so I'm sure they're fine. Just wasn't sure if the hip creases thing could be only just showing up, sortathing.

Hello Bicnod!!

I can relate with the giant baby thing! not this one but my DS. At 9 weeks he was...16lbs. I took him to the baby clinic religiously and it just gave me a complex about how big he was getting. (at 3 he's a stick!)

This time I only get Isla weighed when I HAVE to (jabs etc) I know she's happy and healthy so i'm not bothered. (though i do get quite curious at times...)

Juw - I know what you mean about not being able to afford lessons or a second car. If i did manage to get my full licence I would have to drive DH to the train station when I wanted the car. some weeks he leaves at 6. ummmm, no.
