June 2007 They're (almost all) two which makes them hard work in a whole new range of ways. But just as adorable!

Unable to sleep thought I'd see what had been going on and saw we were due a new thread. Hope this is OK?

Oh, Happy Birthday for Foxy's DD yesterday. Forgot to say on the day

I've been out and about today; gym minis (they had the bouncy castle up as it's the last session for this term. DD was beside herself with excitement and bumble thought it was pretty good fun too), then I had a huge PO run to do, then pick some stuff up from the depot and then get courier stuff organised. I have only just stopped as I've been catching up on feedback etc!!!

The good news is the Jane Powertwin has sold ; I have now earned enough in 10 days to pay for our new bathroom suite . Now for the tiles!

I have also got to the bottom of the odd smell in my front room.....there was a dirty nappy under the sofa . I have no idea how long it had been there, but we noticed the smell on Friday

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2009 13:48

Yay for successful kiddy groups fury; it;s desperate when no-one talks to you, so it sounds like you have found a lovely friendly group

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2009 13:49

Natty, how are things today? I hope you're doing better with that latch

HellHathNoFury · 13/07/2009 14:04

Well done on the sales Daisy, that must feel GOOOOOODDDD.

I have some stuff to sell but I don't fancy my chances getting shot of it.
Kia roof rails and used NEXT curtains, anyone?

Daisy yes I have been to 3 playgroups in the last 2 weeks, and the funny thing is I live on the cusp of a posh area and fairly close to some 'not posh' areas, I went to one in a fairly poor area and 2 in the posh areas, and it was the posh areas that have been incredibly welcoming, and the other one that was 'closed' and cliquey - if I am honest I would have expected it to be the other way around.

DS has taken to pulling his socks up to his knees. I hope this is a phase and not a lifestyle choice.

Rialentless · 13/07/2009 15:42

fury. DS1 gets teased at schol for wearing his trousers like Simon Cowell.

Have a grim cold and feel really rough. (and am trying to stave off Torchwood-induced paranoia that swine flu is a government/alien conspiracy I blame DH)

Have to go to the PO with an ebay thing and Dsis b'day card when DS1 gets home. Then make BBQ food (in the oven cos DH gone to work) and visit the aged parents. Busy!

TheNatty · 13/07/2009 16:36

well done on offloading ebay stuff daisy
latch on good side slighty improved, is hurting a little less. hoping its just that the nipples are already sore and thats the problem.
he is a stubborn thing, he WONT open his mouth wide enough to get enough in, but going to a baby cafe wednesday to ask them.

also going to registerhim wednesday

hope my stitches go off by then
they are really big knots and are not disolving very quick, feels like im sitting on barbed wire..

very friendly toddler groups.. dont exsist round here

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2009 16:39

natty, it took my stitches a good few weeks to feel OK. They should start dissolving around days 10-14 so you've a way to go yet.

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/07/2009 16:56

Natty, it might be worth looking into cranial osteopathy? Jamlet wouldn't open her mouth wide enough at first, but one session sorted her out! It does of course, and unfortunately cost - we paid £30 - but might at least be worth getting an opinion on whether there is a problem that cranial osteopathy might help.

Hello

Stitches sound horrible Natty....hope they ease soon for you.

Well done Daisy....e-baying is infectious isn't it? I've got a bid on one of my sleeping bags which is good

Hospital were well pissed off with me when I rang to say I couldn't make that date. They can't do things according to my personal circumstances apparently. Well tough, I still can't do that date. .

DD and I have got the dentist on Wednesday....and I'm already getting worked up . Fucking anxiety sucks. I suspect DD will get a check-up with me being all jolly and nice and I will give it a miss

LittleMissNorty · 13/07/2009 16:59

Fury - you'll be surprised by the roof rails...we sold ours when we changed cars and almost got our money back for them

Ria and Sputnik...hope you feel better soon

LittleMissNorty · 13/07/2009 17:02

One day I'll remember everything in one post!

Daisy, we had a funny smell going on as well in our garage and we also discovered the cause yesterday.....a chicken breast that had dropped down behind the recycling when we emptied the chest freezer last week.....it was revolting

JammyQueenOfTheSewers · 13/07/2009 17:53

Daisy, when my sister's kids were little, they would all come and stay in my room over Xmas. One February I was clearing out my room and found a used nappy under the bed that had been the since Xmas . Thankfully it was a well wrapped up on itseld disposable so didn't smell too bad.

FrazzledFairyFay · 13/07/2009 18:54

Hello everyone

Fury, did you get a good deal on your freezer? Where did you buy it from?

Norty - my 2 used to pull each other's hair in the supermarket trolley - my 'solution' was to put hooded tops on both of them. It worked quite well

Daisy, that's some impressive ebaying

TheNatty · 13/07/2009 19:05

daisy have you still got the tots size 1s? finding they are the best nappies for us atm

HellHathNoFury · 13/07/2009 19:08

Fairy, I got a Haier(?) from Argos, it was £125 delivered and given it has 145l capacity it's a really good deal. Manky second hand ones on ebay don't go for much less!

HOWEVER it has been on for a couple of days and I just had an ice cream from it, now I am prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt because it's hugely full and maybe it hasn't reached maximum chillness yet (it's been about 30 hours fully laden) but the ice cream was not frozen block frozen.
I think I will try another one tomorrow to check progress

FrazzledFairyFay · 13/07/2009 19:17

Thanks Fury, I'll have a look at Argos. definitely best to test several more ice creams

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2009 19:43

I do Natty....I have offered them to another MNer as she was interested, but if she doesn't get back to me by tomorrow I was going to relist them on used nappies, but you can have first dibs before I do that if you like.

It is infectious; I'm looking at everything in the house with a fresh eye now thinking "Can I sell it?"

The smell wasn't the nappy. It was still hanging around and my friend and I sniffed it out. Eventually tracked it down to a tommee tippee cup full of what had been milk but was slowly turning into cheesey fermented yogurt that DD had stashed in the net bag on the back of her toy pram! It had fermented so much it had popped the lid of the cup and soaked the toys that were in there. They have been chucked, the bag has been washed and my house is fragrant again (well, less unfragrant!). when the smell was still hanging around I was beginning to worry that it was me!!!

Sputnik, I hope you are on the mend.

ria, I hope you can get some rest and that your cold doesn't hang around too much.

Norty, for your anxiety about the dentist.

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2009 19:46

Oh, and another ebay question. An item I bought arrived today and it wasn't as described. I contacted the seller and he has refunded me....so far so good. The item is now in "MyEbay" though as me needing to pay for it . What happens with that then? Can I just delete it from my list?

Sputnik · 13/07/2009 19:51

Don't know about the UK but July/August is a good time to shop around for deals on appliances here. We just got a washing machine and dishwasher at more than 30% discount.

TheNatty · 13/07/2009 20:19

ok daisy let me know. am sorting out funds for pram as well, we got stung by council tax again this month and a bit poor now

i bought a swaddler thing on ebay and it has been a life saver today, DS2 is only happy when wrapped in it. now all i need to do it work out how to get it washed and dried without him noticing he is wrapped up in it...
me thinks i might need a second one

Rialentless · 13/07/2009 20:52

hooray! I only have 2 pushchairs!

TheNatty · 13/07/2009 20:56

lol ria well done

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2009 21:39

I still have seven

but only five of them are mine, lol!

Rialentless · 13/07/2009 21:47

I am a bit (even though I'm £20 richer until I consider the other two I've already bought on the anticipated proceeds). Can't promise I won't end up with another £5 bargain from a boot sale though!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 13/07/2009 21:48

I have 14 car seats (don't ask) and 1 more on the way, but I only have 2 pushchairs, so I'm doing well !

Natty, hope you are ok today. Don't worry about the value lasagne, thanks to our extravagant car buying my kids are living off of pasta for the next 2 weeks (not that it would bother them, they ask for pasta every night any way!).

Dp is going to get his eldest tomorrow and he is bringing his girlfriend. I am not happy about it. He is 17, she is 14 (maybe 15 now). I've asked dp to put them in separate rooms, but he says they'll be fine in one! As far as I'm concerned she is a little girl and he is a man. I'm just going to stay out as much as I can whilst they're here otherwise I'm going to get cross.
