oh FFS, my FIL goes in right huff if required to sit in the back seat too - does it emancipate them or something [sigh]

he even got in the front seat with me driving (he HATES my driving) and asked me in all seriousness before we set off if I could drive a car that big, it was a fecking mazda not a tank ffs!!!

dizzydixies · 19/06/2009 21:57

was emancipate the right word there - I was getting a bit carried way with my rant/emphathising

also not helped by the fact I've been writing a harshly worded letter of complaint to the joiner in reply to his wanky letter today

AnnVan · 19/06/2009 22:00

:Hi again everyone, just popping on quickly as DP will be back any minute bearing chinese It's particularly fine chinese this one as well.
Anyhoo, I have accomplished a lot of cleaning today as MIL had Seb all day! So DP will be surprised when he gets home (he's worked late tonight, very stressful as someon has cocked up and now HE is getting it in the neck grrrr) (even though he was on HOLIDAY when the Fuckup was made)
I have assembled the highchair, it's a Chicco Happy Snack with a red seat. Looks good and is nice and sturdy too. Haven't had seb in it yet as he has been out all day. He's now in bed, and I'm going to go grab plates etc. See you all later, hope everyone is doing ok.

Emancipate is an excellent word Dizz- should defo be used with gay abandon.

By the way you are an excellent daughter. Hauling three children around and trying to keep everyone happy for a short visit would be v. tricky and the christening will be a much nicer way of spending time together.

One of my favourite fil moments was the one where he hopped up and down in hysterical panic when he saw me reversing unaided into the drive of their house.

dizzydixies · 19/06/2009 22:03

oh oh and DH and I have had a conversation about DC4!!!!! he has decided that he is not sure if he is completely against it because we are right in the midst of it all and might come round to the idea in time SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO I suggested that when I finish bfing Dylan I will go back on my normal contraceptive pill, not the mini one I'm on now, for a year and then we'll discuss it again. IF after that he's still against Number 4, he'll go for the snip and I'll get over it.

This in theory should allow me to loose some weight, DD2 would be 4 if I got pregnant so would be starting school for baby arriving in 2011, I would be 35 and Dylan would be 3 and getting some funding for nursery - all sounds a bit calculated I know but I never intended to only have 2yrs between DD2 and Dylan - we were trying to have her before I lost mum and I think I'd cope better with a 3yr gap again. Even so, I don't regret it at all as I met you lot and Dylan is a complete doll

not that I've thought about this a lot

RedLentil · 19/06/2009 22:03

ROFLING at the panic re unaided reversing!! what do they think we do when they're not here, are we only allowed to do such manly tasks under strict supervision of the DH's and FIL's?!?

VG no more cake being made wkend as DH polished off the vanilla cake that was meant for the cafe today I did manage to whip up a batch of double chocolate muffins to take over along with half of the banana & pecan loaf and they were all demolished right infront of me met some more lovely people and enjoyed the 2hours of playing grown ups

and thank you for my get out of jail free card - I couldn't face the journey on Sunday but am terrible for guilt

Ah yes, the well-known male inability to sit in back seats?! As for moving swiftly from room to room, Red... It takes real dedication to get aggressive from that. Good luck!

Dizzy all your reasons sound perfectly good to me. I also press ahead with festivities in the face of DH's indifference and reluctance to reciprocate... and I tell myself that what I am feeling is enjoyment of the occasion, unmixed with moral superiority (yeah right). From what you say I can look forward to having DD on my side in this in a few years' time?!

Good night all. TS can I be next in the queue for your night settling influence please? Come to think of it the worst part of our night is more or less your daytime, you could easily run a transatlantic settling service

dizzydixies · 19/06/2009 22:17

pertelote these boys don't know that they're born because all these lovely DD's will spoil them all when they're older, my 3 all adore their dad

sazz shall just tell him I'm ovulating or something and he'll run a mile

Sazz hoping your day gets better.

Dizzy go girl! They've just started selling white magnums in Singapore too - why oh why couldn't that have been about 12 months ago when I really needed them!

DS up at 5.20 this morning a whole 4 minutes later than yesterday. Plus I had to take him to the doctors yesterday afternoon as he appears to have a bit of an ingrowing toenail. I think I must have cut them too short but they grow so quickly in the hot weather. Bad Mummy emoticon.

Also he's started to walk without us just holding him and letting go.

CaptainCaveman · 20/06/2009 10:27

Morning all

What is it with these Aug 08 babies? O was awake at 3am for 40 mins, 30 of which he spent screaming and trying every which way to clamp himself onto my boob. Had to take him downstairs and sit in the dark until he fell asleep. He woke again at 5 so I asked dh to get up with him. Dh lasted 2 whole minutes before shouting at O at the top of his voice to "effing shut up" so I got up again for another 30 mins. Consequently this morning I have 2 black eyes that a panda would be proud of! expectant and sazz I feel your pain

ann snap with the chinese, we had one too - yum!

dizzy at dc4 and a bit

hotpot well done on surviving your first days back at work

What's everyone up to today? I'm doing a spot of hidying on my hair (those greys have got to go!)

alittlebitshy · 20/06/2009 11:51

Morning.
Am waiting for the arruval of my mil. groan.
Only a daytime visit as she only lives the other side of London, but it's more than enough.

cavey sorry you had a bad night, and that you had to take over form dh.

ann we have the blue version of the highchair. It is very good but is a bugger to clena (though not as bad as the chicco polly dd had).

dizzy yay for possible #4. . I keep thinking about #3 but i know i won;t get

TwilightSurfer · 20/06/2009 12:58

ROUND THREE goes to.......

MOMMY!

Again DH put Reese to bed around 8/8:30pm with a small bowl of cereal and a bottle.

She woke at 3:30am very cross. I found her a pacey, adjusted her covers, coaxed her to lay back down with a gentle nudge, speaking softly the whole time saying things like "it's still night night. let's go back to sleep." The fussing lasted maybe three minutes.

I woke her at 7am for her bottle!

I think she's got the point.

For clarity sake I want to note that for this experiment I made a step backwards to go forwards. I have given her very little real foods over the last three days. She's snacked on some cheerios and had the before-bed-cereal but that's it. I did this off the assumption that all the nutrients she really needs until age 1 she can get from bm or in my case formula. With that mindset I figure I would go back to what I KNEW wouldn't bother her tummy and what I KNEW would fill her up nutritionally. She is now taking more formula during the day...which is the PROPER thing to do. I'll start adding the "real food meals" back a day or so after our pattern becomes more solid.

Now off to catch up...

TwilightSurfer · 20/06/2009 13:25

Sambo I think the ?not picking up? part has been key for me/Reese. I adjust her and her covers but I don?t pick her up.

No1 {{{hugs}}} ?bulging inner ear? OUCH!

Dizzy I LOVE pulling teeth so if you need me for your dd1, just shout. AND !! #4!!! Plans and all!! You go girl!

RED I am thinking of you in your time of need (need to get rid of ILs).

Sazzles {{{{HUGS}}}}

Now off to get my hair done.
Later!!!
