Morning!
Hello Row (as in row your boat) must admit I was wondering how it was to be pronounced as well!! (and Lady I thought Lowrib was like that to) Where do you live Row?
I'm so far behind with everyone's news.... Happy Birthday Arti!

Good news about the house Lady - is it in that little village you mentioned?

Syb great to hear so much from you again. Hope you get some CM sorted? How far are you actually from me? I could help out if you ever got really stuck. Would hate for anymore mascara to slide off...

Well, hectic week! been to Devon and back. Picked DH up from the airport, and yay the bike was still on the roof when I got to LHR! However he did check it was alright before we hit the M4 - all fine found us some last minute accom at a lovely B&B and arrived at 1130pm. luckily there were 2 beds so dh had his own and I shared with ds, and.... ddog was in the tiny room too dh is a machine.... only 5 hours sleep, forgot extra water bottle, and not trained and completed 105 miles in just over 6hrs came something like 60th out of over 2000!

Veg yeah great match there with Murray last night - could almost hear the crowd on Hewitt Henman hill!! And Hewitt - nice recovery - yay I was proud. I am so at your late night chocolate indulgences - not that i'm a big sweet tooth, but how are you not 200kg's?! What's your secret... cycling? That's it, i'm getting the wee ride and taking it up!
So bloody hot here - not complaining although ds is... have him in just a vest with the window open and gentle breez from fan and he seems to be happier, although thinking of just doing the nappy. Too hot for a walk until late afternoon these days!
Not sure if I mentioned but I threw the buggy on Ebay for a decent buy it now and it was snapped up!! Got good price and won a P&T practically new - I love it! haven't got the double kit as that would be a bit like trying on wedding dresses before the proposal, but in other news, we are officially not being safe any more iykwim!
Off to Paris on the weekend - yay, haven't been in ages Banking disaster still being sorted... We are Natwest Private and to be honest they aren't as helpful and pleasant as that quaint little mobile banking tv advert depicts, but still, I know I'll get the money back it's just not sure how long... Might give them a ring now for an update.... Decided I use way too many little faces in my posts....

LadyThompson · 30/06/2009 11:31

Yay indeed for Paris! Yes, PMK, it's in that village but I am not hopeful of getting it as loads of other people viewed it.

I think you will be the first of us to have another one at this rate. Don't leave us for another thread, now, will you

Veggiemummy · 30/06/2009 11:47

Blummin eck where has the morning gone! I'm just starting to wake up and it's nearly time to get DS1 from nursery. Also have swing by Sainsbury's as for the 2nd week in a row I forgot toilet paper in the ocado shop.

PMK even with my training I'm still 5kg overweight, so my little indulgences are having an impact but have decided to train but not be too tight with my diet until I stop breastfeeding (in a year and a half) well at least until he is more established on solids anyway.

Indith · 30/06/2009 12:03

Hello!

Have been away for the weekend at my parents' so as per usual the thread has run away from me and I need ot catch up! I also need to tidy this dumping ground of a dining room while dd naps though as she has been kicked out of our room into the spare room and dh works from home on Wednesday and needs somewhere to do it!

Sleep is improving here. She is starting to go down far more easily, dummies well and truely forgotten and hardly even needing to suck on a finger either She has yet to self settle at night but is very easy to settle. Last night she woke at 11 2 and 5.30 then slept until 6.30 5am has always been morning for her so I was very impressed! I fed at all her wakings (I tend to assume more than 3 hours she might be hungry) but she didn't actually want much.

Sorry for all the unsettled babies with teeth and heat.

Well done tilly for running.

Hello row

Happy birthday arti

I too have had some massive arguments with dh. Sleep deprivation, stress of small people, jealousy of the fact that they get to go to work and talk to adults without everything being interrupted by a nappy or toddlers scrapping or someone needing feeding etc, get to go to the loo by themselves, finish a drink, read a chapter of a book at lunchtime (and I know he works hard and that being jealous is irrational). It all adds up and makes me fly off the handle when actually a well thought out sentence would resolve the issue with no problems.

Like tilly we have a bit of a date night going on. On a Tuesday night the TV doesn't go on unless it is to watch a film together and we play a game, talk etc instead of watching random crap.

Right, am going to blast some of this mess and make dh a work station before dd wakes up.

notjustanumber · 30/06/2009 13:35

Happy Birthday arti. I was touched to hear of yours and veggies stories about your parents. Scared is exactly how I felt when my mum died. The night before last I went for a bike ride up in the hills outside of here in the dusk, and when I got up there I asked for my mum to come and speak to me. Of course she didnt, but I talked to her anyway, asked her advice, and then came home again and felt better. Its nice to think that the people we really love never leave us and are with us in some way.

WG Sue Perkins. I'd like to have a drink with her, I bet she'd be good fun.

Thanks for you advice/sharing of rowing. (Sorry, arguing ) Good to know we arent the only ones ! I've set up a babysitting circle so hopefully we will get out soon, and things will settle a bit once I'm established at work, and have a bit of time to myself I think. Even though I dont want to go back....

Good luck with the house LadyT. I've given up thoughts of that and just have a browse around on rightmove these days. I think we will be stuck where we are for afew more years. But I like to dream....

tillyfernackerpants · 30/06/2009 13:58

ladyt good luck with the house

arti happy birthday

njan we've given up thoughts of moving for a while so I browse rightmove as well! Glad you're feeling a little better

wg glad you had a nice holiday! It does make it a little easier with others there, I find

veggie hope you remembered the toilet paper

pmk wow to your dh! Am about Paris but hope you have a lovely time

Sue Perkins - I remember the Mel & Sue lunchtime show (Light Lunch?) was a must watch in my student days at uni!

tillyfernackerpants · 30/06/2009 13:58

We're sitting here melting, both boys are a bit grumpy & I'm toying with taking the pair of them swimming to cool off, am I mad?

Veggiemummy · 30/06/2009 15:43

I'm gonna get the paddling pool out and throw them both in it. A bit fractious here, DS2 has started pulling off the first boob and yelling at me to tell me it's time to change sides. He also usually fiddles with my necklace but right now he is yanking at it quite viciously. DS1 on the other hand is a happy little soul full of sweetness and love, which is absolutely driving me mad...bless him.

Oh it's sprinkling again maybe no to the pool then.

tillyfernackerpants · 30/06/2009 17:58

veggie are you getting rain . I did take both of them swimming & it was fine! We all really enjoyed it. Ds2 is tired now though & very grumpy!

traceface · 30/06/2009 19:09

hello
this is just a little 'hi' because I really MUST do my job application. The problem is it's an online application and every time I turn the computer on to start it I accidentally end up here
tilly well done you taking them both swimming. I get stressed enough taking just one of mine at a time!
arti dear Arti. big hugs for you. You are coping with this difficult week AMAZINGLY
Well P is a bit poorly. Temp has been up at 38 since yesterday morning and she's emitting green from every orifice! As a result she would only stop crying and let herself sleep when being held by me last night, so it was another upright night in the lounge for me. Hopefully she'll get better soon. Could it be teeth causing those things?
It was Lucy's school summer concert today so I went along and watched her sing her little heart out and felt all proud and mumsy
Right. AM really off to do it now.
If you see me back on here before my application is done - please kick me off!

Kayzr · 30/06/2009 19:29

Hello!!

Whitby was absolutely GORGEOUS!!! It was lovely and warm but there was a nice breeze. I took DS1 on Elizabeth the steam bus and he loved it. I've caught the sun which is nice but my legs are still pasty white despite being in shorts!!

Hope everyone is well!!

JollyBear · 30/06/2009 21:02

Hello everyone,

I did write a long post on Monday afternoon but the computer/internet connection/server/ I don't know, went wrong and lost it all. Boo. I was going to try again last night but I lost my notes!

Veggie I think Javis is a great name. Perhaps number 3 for you???!

zoe I empathised completely with your rant. The worst thing was that your DH was trying to be helpful! I can imagine he had no idea what the problem was, "there I was cooking you a nice tea....".

Trace Hope you are working hard on the application. Any repeat of P's sleepathon?

spot How's things with you now? Hope these teeth appear soon and give the poor chap a break.

tilly Well done you on the run!

Happy birthday arti! How's your day been? DD's awakening at that time is so strange. The CD your mum made sounds wonderful but v sad indeed. I have an album my gran put together of pictures of my Dad who died before I was born. It makes me cry whenever I look at it, even though I never knew him of course. I sometimes feel very sad when looking at DH and DD together that I missed out on that. I do have a fantastic (step) dad who is just lovely though.

veggie The story about maybe seeing your dad is v touching. NJAN I'm glad it helped going to chat to your mum.

pmk Wow a trip to Paris with no precautions . Sounds wonderful!

Hello to everyone I've not mentioned. DH is away for two nights, one bathtime down, one to go! Off for chocolate and rubbish TV now. Wasn't the tennis exciting! I was glued to my seat. Night all.

spotofcheerfulness · 30/06/2009 21:33

Hi all, thanks for asking about T's teeth Jolly, they seem to be better but no sign of poking through! He is still waking up crying in the night though much less than the last few, so I hope tonight is even less! We did go to the GP today and, surprise surprise, he does have tongue tie. They said if they get to this age and are feeding ok they tend not to do anything unless they show signs of difficulty speaking much later, and many grow out of it, but I feel so that it was probably that which caused my BF probs but no one ever checked it.

I hope your 2 nights sans DH go well and that the tennis proves even more compelling tomorrow (would have watched last night but had massive row with DP so am hoping I get to see the next one).

I'm glad you had a good day in Whitby, KAyz, how lovely to be by the sea in this weather. Any pix?

Trace, poor little P, I hope her green bits clear up soon and am glad you managed to enjoy L's summer concert despite your sleepless night. Not sure about the teeth - I keep thinking any change in behaviour/ temperature is down to teeth and keep being proven wrong so I hope someone more helpful than me can give you a steer. Hope the job app is going ok.

We're doing quite a lot of pool activity at the mo, the flat is a total sweatbox at the moment so only place we can keep cool. Bankrupting me though!

LadyT, I can't imagine anyone getting one over you on the dream house, I really hope you get it.

PMK, hope your bank situation is quickly resolved and you have a nice and fruitful time in Paris .

Pingu and I didn't go to the zoo yesterday as planned as too hot and me n Mr T were way too knackered so have postponed until next week. Again, any takers...

Happy Birthday Arti and welcome, row, am so glad this thread is still around and with new people keeping it fresh. (Oh, and btw I'm another with a non sleeper ).

waitinggirl · 30/06/2009 22:15

spot - i cannot tell you how furious and how sorry i am that you finally have found out t has tongue-tie. all that time, effort, worry, difficulty, heartache etc. i am so so sorry. but, on the other hand, at least you know now.

ugh.

OP posts:
EffiePerine · 30/06/2009 22:22

Spot that is so so crap. Funnily enough I was talking with another mum at playgroup yesterday whose son had tongue tie: her GP told her the NHS wouldn't do anything about it as he was gaining weight OK despite his having digestive problems, probably linked. How such a fairly straightforward thing is so often missed and untreated is beyond me

DS2 refused to go to sleep this evening, too hot, and DS1 was grumpy as well. I can hear noises off so had better get myself ready for bed before he stirs again!

Veggiemummy · 30/06/2009 22:35

Oh Spot apart from denying you the chance to continue BF the pain you went through with it, I hope at least you know now it wasn't you, I don't know if that helps.

Bloody baking here DS2 just can't sleep upstairs and I don't think we'll be able to either so we have brought the boys downstairs and we are going to camp out in the living room where it's a bit cooler.

Tilly it was actually a little cloudy here with little teeny tiny showers every now and then but still hot and terribly humid, it actually reminded me of Brisbane, Queensland in summer!!!!

Trace we've got green bits coming out of DS2 as well. He also has a really loose wet cough thinking of taking him to Gap tomorrow just to check it's not too deep down in chest.

notjustanumber · 30/06/2009 22:38

Spot That is terrible, I'm sorry to hear that. As veggie says, at least you know the reason now.

Veggiemummy · 30/06/2009 22:38

Not sure if a clothing store will be able to help actually so might call the GP see if they have an appointment. Bloody predictive text on itouch.

notjustanumber · 30/06/2009 22:42

Made me smile, Veggie Hope DS2 is OK. Mine have both just had nasty throat virus/barking coughs poor things. DS1 was off food for a week.

Veggiemummy · 30/06/2009 22:43

Oh and Trace I hate NHS job apps I don't know why they can't just accept CV's they say exactly the same thing. If you have any questions about school health feel free to ask, I may not know the answers but there is a possibility I would.

Veggiemummy · 30/06/2009 22:46

Oh gosh I hope DS1 doesn't end up with it then he's a bag of bones as it is, a week off food and he might vanish.

traceface · 30/06/2009 22:56

The application is half done - well more than half. The bones are there - it just needs embellishing! I haven't been able to really focus because poor little Phoebe is really unhappy. She finally fell asleep on DH about an hour ago but has already woken up crying twice since then . If she's no better in the morning maybe I'll follow Veggie to Gap!
and JB - no sadly P decided 2 nice nights was plenty for me - perhaps that's my ration for the next 6 months...
right. bed.
xxx

Kayzr · 01/07/2009 08:23

Morning,

Trace and Veggie Hope your DCs are better soon.

Veggie Your AK would have had a great time yesterday with DS1 on the steam bus. It is owned and driven by one of the best steam train drivers in the country. He has driven Thomas, the Blue Peter train and he was the driver in Harry Potter.

Pmk Hope Paris is wonderful and very fruitful! Nudge nudge wink wink

Here are some pics. Not many though because whoever used the camera last left it on so there was no battery.

Hope everyone is well!!

pmk1 · 01/07/2009 09:43

Kayz where are the kids in the photos?
Yes looking forward to the weekend, hope the weather over there is nice. We only have two nights and one full day there unfortunately and will be back Sunday morning

Veg that was funny I'm going to try Gap and a few others next time i'm sick Might have to go to Oxford street - I'm sure the bigger stores have better treatment

DS still won't do anything with chunks of food? I give him a biscuit or rice cake and he just holds on to it and flaps his arms and legs until he throws it or drops it and the dog standing by eats it I keep showing him to bring it up to his mouth and he licks it then goes back to either inspecting it at arms length from all sides, or flapping his arms again and then dropping it - couldn't care less about it!

pmk1 · 01/07/2009 09:46

bugger on the tongue tie Spot that's really bad they couldn't get that way back
