Same here. C loves suckling and carries on when she's not hungry anymore resulting in her crying fighting the boob yet rooting and wanting to latch at the same time. Usually after about 5 mins of that I take it that she's full, because by then her face and arm is usually covered in milk, as are my clothes I think she suckles and just lets it all drip out of her mouth when she's like that. When I take her off she has a bit of a moan, but settles on my shoulder in no time.

C's just had a good 20min playing under the baby gym. She really is enjoying the thing now. She doesn't aim for any of the toys yet and only accidentially hits things, but I think she'll soon work out how it all works. For now she loves studying all the toys.

Well, I'm off to try and do a little bit of expressing now so I can try C with another bottle. I can't let her loose her bottle feeding ability, like ds did

Gert2a · 29/06/2009 15:00

Good afternoon all, Just back from our first trip to the swimming baths. E wasn't phased in the slightest and in fact fell asleep in the pool!!! She really is the most laid back baby!

Tummum · 29/06/2009 15:24

Same here. Do you remember a while back I posted to say G was fussing (well, screaming) when I was putting him on the boob, and it might be a fast let down. In fact, I was trying to feed him when he was just tired. You'd have thought by the 3rd LO I might know what I was doing

I have been messing around with my fing useless HR dept today trying to get G added to my health insurance so we can go see the consultant about his turned out foot. Not sorted yet, but I googled his condition and really wish I hadn't. I am trying to stop myself worrying, but it does look like he might need some casts and an operation. .

FiKelly · 29/06/2009 15:27

hiya dh off to collect ds from pre school. i was aiming to have a nap these past 2.5hrs but g decided to wake for a big feed. she's happy sleeping on me but wakes every time i pop her down so just relaxed watching telly instead. V hot here today.. got every window open and our flat is still about 26degrees!

pulapula · 29/06/2009 15:49

Well my PIL have just come to take DD and DS1 up to their house for tea and S is asleep (and has been for 1.5 hours in his cot ). I didn't really need their help as things were surprisingly good with DS1 and DS2 both asleep at the same time so i had some rest on the sofa (after hanging out the washing), but as DS1 woke up grouchy it's no bad thing!

pulapula · 29/06/2009 15:50

Can't believe it - S is just waking up just as i was looking forward to some quiet time!

MsG · 29/06/2009 15:52

Hi all. I've just caught up with the old thread - will catch up with this one soon! Am just watching a DVD on biological nurturing. My mastitis has cleared up but I have pain in my nipples. I thought it might be thrush but I don't think it is - I think C is just not latching on very well. I'm going to go to a drop-in bf support group tomorrow as it's getting me down.

I really want to keep bf but it is sooo tiring - I had no idea it would be like this. I don't mind getting up in the night but it's just the faff of actually getting her on and it not being agony - it just takes a while and it's tiresome. Sorry for whingeing. I find it really hard when she cries, usually on a night, and DH is working late tonight. My sister is coming round for a bit thank goodness.

xx

pulapula · 29/06/2009 16:21

MsG- mastitis really is nasty, and sorry you are so tired and in pain. i think anyone who carries on BF is amazing especially under difficult conditions.

flippineck · 29/06/2009 16:29

MsG - good to see you,but sorry to hear that you're struggling with the BF. Hopefully you'll get some good advice at the BF place tomorrow.

Lovley and peaceful here - DD1 is at the CM today, and A is asleep (in her moses basket, so like pula !!!) and has been for a couple of hours. She's going to want feeding just as I need to cook tea, as usual. Lovely lazy day, A and I went to see a friend this morning who is virtually housebound with SPD (she's in a wheelchair most of the time now, poor girl) and this afternoon just pottered.

tummum - I've been fighting with HR this afternoon too, they keep deducting my childcare vouchers off my maternity pay, despite the fact that it's ILLEGAL. Talk about banging your head against a brick wall though. They owe me nearly £500 now, a*seholes. Sorry. Rant over, makes me cross.

Tummum · 29/06/2009 16:37

Flippin My HR deduct the vouchers but then I get them issued - is that illegal too (I figured as I was getting the vouchers it makes sense?

Mrsg well done for persevering thus far. Totally agree with Pula for complete admiration for you.

Belgianchocolates · 29/06/2009 18:31

Went out after school to get ds some new trainers as it turns out his feet had grown 1.5 sizes. I felt so guilty @ not having them measured earlier. Anyway. While we were Out a thunderstorm errupted and so now my laundry is completely soaked. Looks like I'll have to stick the nappies in the dryer. It's still tipping it down.

C has really been clingy today. I dont think I've actually managed to put her down at all yet today. It's been sling or my chest all day. She's asleep now, so I'll try to have some food now. I hope she'll settle soon, because she's really taking a step backwards. Maybe she's in one of those developmental leaps that makes babies more unsettled.

Momino · 29/06/2009 18:43

pula, how did your ebay listing end?

i haven't sold much but the buyer for my maternity linen mix trousers wants to return as she says they're not 32L inside leg like i stated and 'they must have shrunk as linen does'. she wants full refund plus post to return. i said fine, wasn't done intentionally as I'd just put the information straight from the trouser label and didn't think they would have shrunk since they're linen/elastacine (sp?). i was apologetic as i need good feedback. i'll refund her as soon as i receive back the trousers. belgian, and other ebay experts - does this sound right?

anyway, it's taught me to measure inside leg by hand to avoid same mixup. grrrrrrr.

OP posts:
Belgianchocolates · 29/06/2009 19:37

momi TBH I think your buyer was a bit unreasonable, as you didn't feel the trousers had shrunk. But if they want a refund, then that's what's got to be done. I always go by the label when listing items. Sometimes buyers ask for the inside leg measurement, but not always. Personally I've bought things in the past that didn't quite fit despite being my size, but I never blamed the seller. Sometimes that's what happens if you can't try something on before buying.

I'm going to try the auctiva auctions that fi suggested soon. I'd seen them, but didn't know that non eBay shops could use it too. I think I'm going to list a few things tonight.

Momino · 29/06/2009 20:29

thanks Belgian. I agree the buyer seems a bit unreasonable. If the label said 32L does that mean inside leg? (rhetorical question) i just put what was exactly on the label but didn't state 'inside leg'. since it was so important toher, i wish she'd have asked me directly to confirm 32L meant inside leg.

ah, never mind.

Harper yelling for the past couple of hours. not sure what it is as i've tried everything. I think she's over tired as she's not had one great nap today. and it's too warm. ive been picking her up every 10-15 min as I've had to give the other girls baths and put them to bed. still intermittent crying but think she's nearly there.... bless.

OP posts:
pulapula · 29/06/2009 21:04

Momi- I am really nervous about getting difficult buyers who complain about the items I have sold. But i think i will just accept returns and relist them.

Well so far i have sold 2 maternity dresses for £16 and £14 + P&P and some maternity PJs for £4.20, so not bad really. But just sold a maternity skirt for just 99p which was a bit disappointing given that there were 9 watchers (thought someone might come in at last minute!), and I think I only wore it a few times. Definitely won't be having another baby as can't afford another maternity wardrobe!

Belgianchocolates · 29/06/2009 21:17

Matthewandbumpsmummy I've just seen you're facebook status. How sad. I hope you're OK.

Belgianchocolates · 29/06/2009 21:20

pula momi I've only ever had 1 really difficult customer. She was really aggressive in her e-mails. It appeared that a pair of crocs that I'd bought for DS but that he didn't wear because they were to small were fakes. I didn't realised that so I listed them as real and of course she accused me of deceiving her on purpose. It was horrible, but I was polite and gave her a refund + now I know how to tell the difference between real and fake crocs

Febes · 29/06/2009 21:30

Only 100 more posts to go on this thread. Who's thinking of a clever new title??

Had a difficult day with 2 hot kids but hoping for better tomorrow.

Belgianchocolates · 29/06/2009 21:39

Febes At the rate we're posting we've probably got a few days before we've got to start panicking. Plenty of time for the more creative amongst us to come up with a brilliant title!

Well, I listed 2 things on eBay. Time to relax now and watch a little telly. Looks like the hens are settling down for the night on their favourite step again
Hope everyone is going to have a good night tonight.

Jael · 29/06/2009 21:46

Hiya everyone. Gosh it is so hot! Did everyone have a thunderstorm earlier too?
I keem meaning to get round to putting stuff on Ebay too, just never seem to have the time lol J was a little monkey last night and woke up at 3am for 2 hours for nothing really as he didn't really want a feed, just think he was really hot, can't complain really though, as he's been going 9pm till 6am for a week now so the odd night of him playing up won't do any harm.

Matthewandbumpsmummy I'm just seen your FB status too. I hope you're ok

Jennster · 29/06/2009 23:05

FiKelly DD2 is 6 weeks old and her very dark blue eyes have gone brown just like the other 2 dc. Dh has brown and I have mucky non descript eyes. Ds has blonde hair though with his brown eyes and is gorgeous if I do say so myself.

running I swaddled dd2 last night, but she was naked but for her nappy, and tonight it's even hotter, she's just wearing a vest in her cot, with no blanket or sheet just yet. I will put one on her later when it cools down. It's only one more layer for them when you are out and about walking, and they are stationary in a pram. I would say the same number of layers for you as for them in bed.

Pula We've had fun and games with ds going into a bed for the first time on Saturday night. Tonight was surprisingly easy, but we've put a gate on his door. We never needed one for dd1. She was very obedient.

Momino My dc are deaf as door posts when it comes to doing something they don't want to do. I am not a nice calm mummy. I occasionally swear in front of them too.

Momino · 30/06/2009 05:47

morning all. was up at 5 but not waken by baby. thought i'd take a shower and, sure enough, as soon as i turned on the shower Harper woke up. She's just had a quick feed and now tossing and turning in her basket. i'm hoping she'll settle back down so i can go back for that shower.

Big Scream York, who's going? meeting at my house (which is a tip) anywhere from 10am then walking to cinema for 11am showing. also see facebook group. i'll try to email my address details (think it's already on fb).

ok, i'm just going to let her wriggle and grunt whilst I take a quick shower. otherwise, i won't get one today.

1st set of jabs today, wish us luck! my MIL is coming to watch older DDs so we all don't have to trek over to surgery.

hope all are well and got more sleep than i did!

OP posts:
FiKelly · 30/06/2009 06:17

momino hope you get the shower.. and good luck with the jabs.

we eventually managed to pin mil down on a date to fly down.. it was last night. wasn't sure she'd come even then but amazingly she's here.. but I was asleep when dh collected her as her flight from glasgow was badly delayed. whole house still asleep except me feeding g atm so hoping to get an extra snooze in..

Momino · 30/06/2009 06:48

Fi, got a shower and managed to empty dishwasher before being summoned for milk.

good your MIL is there and hope you're able to get a bit more sleep.

OP posts:
FiKelly · 30/06/2009 08:00

grace has only just stopped feeding and asleep.. but no chance of extra snooze as think ds just waking up. he was up in the night and dh persuaded him to go back to bed.. so he's slept longer this am thankfully. time for me to hurriedly get washed and dressed too
