Happy New Year (nearly!)

Huge congratulations Shimmer. Wonderful news. Glad you and Belle are doing well. x

Eah - Your Lapland trip sounded great. Little bit disturbed about what you posted about 3 years old being worse than 2 years!! I can't handle any worse! So, what are you planning for H's birthday?

I feel a bit bad for Dylan as the £ we had put by for a party for him has gone on the excess on the car. (which was finally towed away for an estimate yesterday) Its so annoying not having a car! So we are thinking of just doing a big treat instead. London Zoo or something.

We are getting him a scooter, but I am not sure which one to get.

The Elc one seems more robust, but I think the John Lewis one is easier to scoot on.

Any ideas?!

DP is back at work today (finally!) so am clearing up the house and taking the xmas tree down - yay!

Hope you all have a great New Years Eve & all the best for 2010!!! xxx

Liz - actually think the JL one might be harder to scoot on as it doesn't have a large foot area. J has a fireman sam one with quite a wide base which is easy to keep his foot on. HTH!

Happy New Year Everyone

xx

Happy new year!!

Hope Pippa had a lovely birthday yesterday (dolls houses are obviouslya 'thing' for 3 year olds as we gave Ellie one the xmas after she was 3 and UD got Z one for his birthday!) Hope she is enjoying playing with it.

Lizz - at DJ party money am sure he'll have a fab day We have booked soft play for Tuesday afternoon (mean Mummy I am sending her back to preschool Tuesday morning) then party 12.30 to 2.30 (meant that Ellie and any other older siblings at school so kept cost down. Paid £5 for each child (there are 10 inclusing her as minimum number they accept) and doing my own food (they do food but its crap) so making the cardboard animal boxes I used for Ellie's bday and doing sandwich/crisps/juice/mini sausages/choc bar and cucumber/carrot sticks. Yet again she has picked Peppa pig cake. Sadly a couple of close friends (eddas and my other friend) cant make it as they are working so her birthday celebrations are continuing on Weds when friend and her dc come for lunch and Thursday when eddas and her dd and ds come for tea after school!!

Wilkie - ROFL at your text last night, Chris thought it was a good plan to copy but then he fell asleep!!

Shimmer - glad to hear things going well

DH at work again today but home early afternoon and my Mum just phoned to say she is doing roast beef for tea tonight and joint is huge so invited us for dinner yey no cooking for me (cooked dh and i a nice 3 course candlelit dinner last night)

eandh · 01/01/2010 09:50

oh and def a wider base for scooter ELlie has only mastered the narrow base one in last few months and Hattie scoots fine on Ellie's old wide base one

Happy New Year all!

Just a quick one to wish happy birthday for tomorrow to all those born on the 5th. I think that was Eah, Dragon, UD and Nemo?? What have you got planned for H EaH?

B at nursery for his first day today. I am v twitchy. They should be home soon and I can't wait to see him. DH had to prise him out of my arms this morning to get to work on time . Haven't cried but have moist eyes. I'm such a softy and bizarrely don't recall being like this when P went.

P had a great birthday - thanks for the wishes all (and ta for the card Wilkie) . She loves her dolls house and got overexcited about her birthday cake.

I'm going to work tomorrow shock]

Dragonhart · 05/01/2010 23:51

Hi all, sorry not really caught up but I hope you are all well. Congratulations Shimmer on Belle. Hope all is well with you.

Just thought I wd come on to say I hope all the los had a good bday today, Ruth did and was a very tired little girl when she went to bed. She got alot of toys so am having a nightmare fititng them all in after all the toys at christmas! Lizz, we got Ruth the scooter as it goes from 4 wheels to 3 then to 2 when they have a bit more balance.

Not much news here. Just chugging along mostly haveing a great time. Happy new year to everyone and happy birthday to all the los xxx

2Happy · 06/01/2010 17:50

Happy birthday to all the January babies! Hope they are all having lovely birthdays.

DH - nice to see you
Reg - how did work go?
Lizz - is the car fixed? Oh, and re: terrible 3s, well ds1 was at his worst form 18m to 2.5 and has been steadily getting better ever since. ds2 I thought was just an abnormally happy/placid child, until the last month where he has belatedly hit the terrible twos with a vengeance. So maybe the worse they are when they're younger, the less bad they are as 3-year olds??
Shimmer - how's Belle?
Eandh - what is it with Peppa pig - mine have conveniently forgotten about it for now but were obsessed not that long ago!

Everyone enjoying the snow then? It snowed 2 and a half weeks ago and hasn't gone ever since. We now have 3ft with another ft forecast tonight. It's very pretty, but is starting to do my head in now!!

Oh, and baby fine on scan but I could tell before I had it it's OP, and the scan confirmed it. So that's section booked for 25th Feb, no more dreams of the perfect normal birth. Oh well.

Hi PCF . Good to see you . Glad that your dh found a job so quickly - even though it's not ideal - they'll be time for that when things pick up again.

Yup - I am getting hacked off with the snow. It's deep but so powdery I can't even build a snowman. Gaaahh. Really deep in our back garden, but the paths are tretcherous.

Can't believe our little boys are 8 months already. B started nursery proper on Monday, and except for Monday itself, he's been happy. I nearly cried at work on Tues morning (first day very surreal) but went in again today and felt much better. Thankfully I'm only doing two days a week in January so have some settling in time.

Oh, and PCF I am one of those smug mothers who now gets funded child care. Yup - P made it the right side of the cut off by just over an hour . It slightly offsets the ridiculous cost of having two kids at nursery.

2H sorry to hear that you can't go for the natural birth. On the plus side, I won't be nagging you throughout February asking if you're in labour. Although I will be sat here waiting for the news on 25 Feb .

Good to hear from you too Dragon. Ikwym about the ridiculous amount of toys. Still unable to sort those out until the loft is finished........

eandh · 07/01/2010 19:45

evening ... I officially hate snow and am fed up of it now! E and H have gone to stay with my parent tonight (Dad did the trip to collect them) as I have been told I have to be at work tomorrow as am within walking distance (hmmm ver long story about my boss not even attempting to get to work but wont post on he as he knows I use this site) oh well at leats I get a good nights sleep

Hope veryone ok and Rgee glad Ben settle dok and PCF well done to dh x

Reggiee · 12/01/2010 10:32

Happy birthday J!!

eandh · 12/01/2010 11:27

Happy birthday rgee and JJ x

Reggiee · 12/01/2010 13:52

Cheers Eah. Having a lovely day doing nothing. Am just about to head to town then out to pick up the kiddies.

To make my day better, just got an email from MN telling me I'm a winner of one of their December competitions . That's P's Xmas pressie sorted!
Oh, and EaH - I think I saw Eddas's name there as the main prize winner.

eandh · 12/01/2010 16:08

rgee - well done on the competition prize Eddas chuffed as she won the £600 halfords vouchers so maybe my luck transferring to people I know

2Happy · 12/01/2010 17:42

Happy birthday Reggie and J, hope you both had lovely days x

eandh · 17/01/2010 17:09

am so bored kids watching monsters inc again

2Happy · 18/01/2010 14:33

Mmm, mine love that too. I'm looking forward to Up coming out on DVD, just for a bit of variety!

Lizzzombie · 19/01/2010 06:56

Well done Rgee on getting a prize!
I have my eye on that valentines one done via twitter!

Hope everyone is coping with 3 year olds now. It just seems to have gone unbelieveably fast.

We have UP on dvd, it is one of my favourites. But, at the moment, Dylans current dvd of choice is Shaun the Sheep. Over and Over and Over. It sort of takes the fun out of it watching it on constant!

Well, we thought we'd be ultra clever and do a reward chart for Dylan to get him to sleep in his own bed before he turns 3. Hmm..we have about 15 spaces empty of stickers, and its his birthday in 24 hours. So, do I give him the scooter we got? Or withold it till he sleeps properly?!!

In week 4 of having no car now. Put a deposit down on a 2003 astra last week, sooooo looking forward to being able to drive again! Shopping in town, with a "NO BUGGY MUMMY" - child, is doing my head in! xxx

evening

Hope all the birthday children have been having fun

I watched it whilst Hattie slept We saw Up on the plane coming home from Lapland I had a lump in my throat in a bit of it

Hattie got a new Peppa DVd for her birthday (Princess friggin Peppa and George the brave ) its been on more than a few times!

Have listed a load of happyland toys on ebay (got them all second hand from boot fairs etc but have cleaned them up and the girls have played with them but not been touched since November) and only been on for a day and up to £37 already (think I must have spent £30 tops when I got it all) so feeling very pleased at the mo (they end on saturday so fingers crossed)

Am very excited about the 7th of February now

Hi Eah. Too quiet here to post

Anyhoo, how is everyone? How were all the 3rd birthdays (except 2H still to come I think)?

Shimmer how are things going with you? Would love to hear how you are.

And 2H - how are you doing? Not long now .

Lizz have you got your new car yet? Our car cost me a fortune this week again .

Hectic week - car, loft still ongoing , B poorly....Back to work properly tomorrow.

eandh · 01/02/2010 19:17

Rgee - how did work go today?

Am v.excited meeting Lizz/shimmer/UD/PCF on sunday as Hattie and I venturing to Lewes for softplay and a nosey at shimmers bookshop Chris has to take Ellie to a party which he is dreading (havent told him that he can leave her and pick her up at end as she stays on her own now am letting him fester and worry about having to stand in a hall for 2 hours with loads of Mums for a few more days yet )

Reggiee · 01/02/2010 19:24

Hi Eah. Work fine today ta. First day back and I managed not to get bogged down by work, but amazing how little changes.

Ahem...when did this organisation of the great southern meet take place?? I see no discussion of it here - are you all talking elsewhere hence it's quiet here .............
