Shimmer - I took the capsules, the tea tastes so nasty it made me heave with dd, just couldn't cope with it at all!

Reggiee · 16/11/2009 09:00

Hi Eah hi UD.

Eah hope you are fully recovered now. Slllooooowwwwww down this week and take it easy .

Shimmer I had some lovely raspberry leaf mint tea. Really nice flavour. No idea where it was from though. It was a Xmas pressie last year along with an amusing 'pregnant' mug. When is your official due date btw?

Life plods on here. Weather is dire. Been feeling a bit single mother-ish as dh has had to work loads this last month and he's been upping his running to win some sort of regional championship series, plus the standard footie season and forthcoming stag weekend. Builders have hardly done anything due to the weather so that's going too slow for my liking.
P & B are as lovely as ever with a smattering of toddler / baby tantrums. B has anal fissures and borderline constipation so have been shoving water down his neck as best as I can.
Nursery rang lasweek to arrange for B to have his introductory sessions . He starts in January which is hurtling towards us...sob...

2Happy · 17/11/2009 19:38

Anyone else having problems posting on this thread - kept trying yesterday and it wouldn't let me! Can't remember what I wrote now!

Shimmer - glad you got in to see the birthing centre
eandh - hope you're fully recovered now
reg - well done Mr speedy reg!! And much (pg-induced constipation) sympathy for B's anal fissures. Ouch.

Right, let's see if it lets me post this now...

2Happy · 17/11/2009 19:38

Harumph. So what on earth was the problem yesterday?!

Reggiee · 17/11/2009 19:41

The problem, 2H, is this thread is too darn quiet.....

Reggiee · 17/11/2009 19:41

Eeek!!! A bump-toucher

Lizzzombie · 18/11/2009 19:09

I'm here!
I'm always here...just nothing of interest to tell anyone.

Off to London tomorrow. Taking DJ on the train to meet my Mum for lunch. Got a bargainous ticket online. £7.50 rtn!!! Its normally £8.50 just to get to Brighton so I am very happy. I hope he is good.

Lizz - how did today go?

Rgee - B sounds v.cute any new pics?

2Happy - how far are you now?

As usual not alot to say been working a few extra hours for overtime but one of my mates has got a job at my branch (she'll do Tues and Thurs so wont actually see her there) but it means I wont have to keep trying to find childcare for Hattie to help cover anymore.

My exciting news is my mum and dad have booked to take the girls to Butlins next Easter for 4 days so dh and I will be childfree, sadly as its Easter he cannot get time off work so we cant escape for a few days away but it'll be lovely to have a night out and enjoy a bit of 'us' time, we are hoping to paint Hattie's room whilst shes away too. It'll be weird though never had that long without them.

Girls are actually being very cute at the moment as they both love snuggling up together and watching disney films (at the moment they are watching Aladdin singing 'a whole new world' and holding hands We took them to the 02 to see disney princess on ice the otehr week and Hattie loved the first half and went mad when the 7 dwarfs appeared and was yelling at dopey (he is her favourite) she got a bit bored during 2nd half but Ellie sat amazed throughout the whole thing so was well worth taking them to see herface

Am trying to persuade Laughalot to book Disneyland Paris next December (2010) with us as we are planning to take them for a weekend in December (brrr it'll be cold then)

Ellie getting on really well at school and can almost turn all her phonics sounds into the correct writing letter and I am off to a workshop next few weeks where they'll show us the techniques they use to get them to read. Hattie loves pre-school although appears only to play with boys and likes showing her friend George her peppa pig knickers (he wears George from PP pants too!)

Shimmer · 20/11/2009 21:48

Hi all. Hope you had a good day in London Lizz. I'm taking Freddie up on the train next weekend so also keeping fingers crossed that he behaves! (Having visions of heavily pregnant me struggling with pushchair/luggage etc. waddling down the platform after F running off....) I get mega cheap tickets by booking on Southern Railway on-line.

EAH and Hattie sound so cute togther EAH! F will now occasionally sit through a whole film, but usually doesn't have the attention span to sit still for more than about 20 mins at a time. He does love Madacascar though! Good to hear Hattie's getting on okay at pre-school. Freddie's been at a nursery for ages, but is swapping to a pre-school (well, they call it kindergarten, but it's a pre-school in that he'll stay on there for the first few years of school IYSWIM) in Jan, so really hoping he copes with the change okay.

Feeling a bit Christmassy today for the first time this year! Just booked some theatre tickets to take F to see 'Night Before Christmas' in Dec, which sounds lovely! Also booked to see Charlie & Lola at the theatre in London on boxing day, which i know he'll LOVE!! He's still pretty much obsessed with them..... Doubt I'll be able to go though as hopefully i'll have a new LO and probably won't want to leave it so soon. So i think my mum and dad'll probably taken him.

My DD is 15 Dec. Just over 3 weeks to go now! I'm desperate for it to come early (F was) but the last few times i've been to see MW she's measured it about a week smaller than what i am (does that makes sense??) so am a bit worried now it could be late, which would be tres irritating and would kind of ruin all Christmas plans!!

eandh · 23/11/2009 19:55

shimmer hopefully lots of helpful people at the train station for you at the weekend (I would help if I saw pg person plus toddler and buggy/luggage)

I am just about giving up with Hattie every night she is screaming the place down at bedtime she gets up around 6am and never naps so we put her up at 6.15 so by time stories done its 6.30 however she wants one of us to sit in her room and screams and screams (tonight till 7.40 till DH gone up) and that keeps Ellie awake who is desperate to be asleep by 6.45/7 as shes exhausted from school

Reggiee · 24/11/2009 19:26

Shimmer - 3 weeks . THat has flown by! Was F early / late / on time?

Eah - sorry to hear about H and going to sleep. Had a few interesting nights with P of late where she shouts for me in the middle of the night and it appears she just wants some company .

Our house got flooded(ish) last week. Our roof was/is off, and the tarpulin blew off exposing it to the pi$$ing rain. So dh and I were up at 1.22am one night running round with buckets and towels. Bathroom ceiling fell in (a bit of it), landing, P's bedroom all have some water damage, and even dripped down to ground floor. Joy. I moved out with the kids for 3 days.

Lizzzombie · 26/11/2009 10:04

OMG Rgee - that sounds awful. Hope it doesn't take too long to sort out.
Shimmer - Have you got everything you need? Let me know if I can help out with a shopping trip round my work!
Eah - We have it very similar with Dylan. He will not go to sleep unless one of us is cuddling him on his bed. Most nights this will take 20 minutes. But, every now and then we can be up there for over an hour. It drives us insane. If we leave him up there and come downstairs he will just get more and more hysterical. Screaming, "don't leave me, I'm scared" etc. We have got him a cd player for xmas and I am hoping that playing calm music/stories will help him get over us leaving him in his bed awake. He used to be fine when he was in his cot. But for the last year its been like this.

Right, arse needs to be hoiked into gear. I am driving down to Dorset to see my parents today. Ugh, its such a vile drive. Picking Dylan up after nursery so hope he will fall asleep for a bit of it.

We had a HUGE storm last night. Proper lightening and thunder at the same time, and the biggest/longest thunder rolls I've ever heard. One lasted about 15 seconds! Was convinced that our house would be struck by lightening! But, we have a couple of holes in the roof and I need to go and assess the damage before I leave for Dorset. So...

Have a good weekend everyone xxx

morning

Lizz/shimmer - hope you both had good weekends and Frddie/DJ behaved on your journeys

Rgee - house sounds a nightmare how is it going now?

Wilkie - have you officially started your new job now? Are you going back to your old job?

Laughalot - I hop eyou had good birthday weekend and glad you liked your pressie

Lizz - very very weird since I posted that whinge about Hattie she has started to go to bed properly I kept telling her that I wouldnt be staying in her room from 4pm onwards, did 3 stories, kisses and cuddles then went in our room to do ironing and she went straight to sleep, next night I went in bathroom for quick bath and again straight to sleep and actually managed to come straight downstairs on saturday night we did laugh though though because I had all her hair cut into a chin length bob (wasnt sure when it was done but everyone loves it) and since that day she started sleeping so maybe its the hair??? Oh and we got Ellie the CD player from ELC when she was 3 because of same issues and it worked a treat (she still has it on now after story time)

Lizzzombie · 02/12/2009 17:19

Ok - so who has their Christmas decorations up yet?!
Shimmer - did you "do" the Christmas window of your shop? What does it look like? (its too damp to travel to Lewes at the moment!)

Eah - What type of cd's did/does E play on her cd player at bedtime? I haven't investigated this thoroughly and for all my thinking that I have DJ's Christmas presents sorted, I realised I've not brought anything to actually play in his new player thingy! Doh.

Our roof is leaking. It needs to be re felted. Has been patched for now & I am hoping it will last to when its sunny again so we can get a roofer in to do it quickly. (Can you imagine being a roofer in this weather?!)

My Christmas tree & decorations are down from the loft but as usual I have no idea where to put them. I'm thinking paper chains could be a good wet weather activity too.
A friend gave me a top tip for those of you with babies - put your trees up in the travel cot, then they can't reach the bottom bits, the baulbles...or the presents. (thinking about that now, I am not sure if it would work at all though!)

Oh & my 5 hour drive to Dorset was great fun. I borrowed a portable dvd player from a mate and DJ had 'Thomas & the Great discovery' on repeat for the entire journey there and 'Ice Age 2' on the way back. I now know all the words to both!

OP posts:
eandh · 02/12/2009 19:23

Lizz - dh been off work today and I went to Ellie's school for a workshop on how they teach them to read (actually very useful) anyway came home from that and he had got all the decs down from the loft and him and Hattie had sorted the decs out and then we all decorated the trees (we have 2 one in playroom that they have all pink/purple bits on plus all bits they have made) other tree inlounge is cream and gold themed although does have singing trip of pooh/tigger/eyeore underneath!

On the subject of DVD players I love them we used to have a twin screen one incar however arguments over disney princesses/HSM vs fireman Sam/peppa pig we ended up getting them one each and Ellie wears the over the head earphones with hers.

CD's - Ellie has lots of disney stories Bugs Life/Toy story/Aladdin/Disney songs/HSM story CD then seasonal ones like the snowman etc

2Happy · 06/12/2009 14:59

Portable DVDs are the only way to survive long car journeys!!! We used ours on holiday last week. Didn't switch it on for the way home in the hope the boys would sleep, and ds1 ended up being car sick, in my less than a week old car!!!! I blame dh's driving...

Chrismtas decorations went up today, all very festive. ds1 is totally into the spirit of things this year, which is great fun. We put the tree up when ds2 was messing about having his nap, but when he came downstairs he never even passed comment on the enormous tree with tinsel and lights that wasn't there when he went to bed

Shimmer · 06/12/2009 21:22

Hi all. Christmas decorations up here now too! At home and in the shop. It's not too ambitious this year Lizz, due to me being the size of a bus and not wanting to do much more than waddle (slowly) from one end of the shop to another. Also I have a horrendous cold which is slowing me down even more!

Anyway, it's good to have all decorations done now as am beginning to get into serious nesting mode! Been cooking/cleaning/tidying loads the last few days which is SERIOUSLY unlike me. Also finished Xmas shopping today

Reggiee · 07/12/2009 22:33

You are nesting a lot Shimmer - must be very close now . BTW, how are you going to get the message to us? I demand would like to know asap!!!!

2H how is the third trimester going? When do you finish work?

Xmas tree up here yesterday too. Must have been the day for it. EaH am that you have two trees. P is most impressed with the tree and before she went to nursery today said "don't take it down when I'm out today mummy". Pmsl. Although not as funny as the "yuk" she told dh I'd taken her to see at the museum (was actually a yak).

All else good here. Loft is almost finished (the shell that is - we then have to plaster / decorate / floor / plumb / electrics etc etc)so no more leaks. Lizz I feel your pain.

B has hit that ridiculously cute phase. Hurrah! He laughs at everything and atm is sleeping without a fuss during the day. Sadly though, it's his first visit to nursery next week . Return to work is fast approaching. Sob.

So how is everyone else? It's too quiet here.
Lal did you have a good birthday?
Vino how was India?
Wilkie & PCF how are the little boys?

Wilkiepedia · 08/12/2009 22:16

2happy- are your 2 excited about Xmas? Hope you have stopped feeling so sick now

Rgee- hows loft gone this week (believe me you may need 2 trees by the time Ben old enough to do Xmas craft we have so many 'hand made' decs on their tree!)

Did you see who won the energizer battery thread prize....ME and a £500 cheque being sent via special delivery am so so so so excited buying a wii fit for 'family' use and then saving £200 and the rest is all going on me (did offer DH some but he said I won it so its mine and he's happy with teh wii fit board) Ia m going to try and find Eddas a little something especially for her as I know Christmas is hard time for her and she really is such a fab friend to me/godmother to Hattie

Shimmer · 13/12/2009 21:26

Still no baby

I know it's not actually due til Tuesday, but I was convinced it would come this weekend. I guess cos F was early and everyone kept going on about how 2nd ones are usual early. Grrrrr....

Moan moan moan.... Off to see if DP will have sex with me now. I'm so fat and grumpy I wouldn't if I was him!
