TrickOrTReggiee · 28/10/2009 18:40

Hmmm...no-one I recognise here.........

Shimmer · 29/10/2009 10:19

Heeeeeeeeeellooooooooooooo out there...

TrickOrTReggiee · 29/10/2009 13:17

Ah-haaaa! So it's Lal with the new hair!! Any photos on FB yet Lal?

Shimmer oh dear. That;s not particularly reassuring is it. Are you not tempted by a home birth (speaking from experience of having a very quick second birth - just to add to the reassurance......)

eandh · 29/10/2009 18:39

Shimmer have they really said Tunbridge Wells (Pembury) they have downgraded Maidstone maternity and they want to remove it completley and send all births to Pembury/TW, my friend got turned away at Maidstone and her dh had to drive the 30mins to T.Wells she got there on a bed and 3 pushes her ds was born. Its blimmin crap isnt it

I am busy on another thread at th emoment for Trinity as she needs some bits for her dd's so am sending address out if anyone can help

Wilkiepedia · 29/10/2009 22:29

Shimmer - it could be a 23 hour labour like my delightful 'it'll be quicker second time' birth in which case you could come up to HRI Birthing Centre which was wonderful

...I'm not bitter or anything about the length of time my birth took...

Lizzzombie · 30/10/2009 08:12

Shimmer - Which hospital are you booked in at otherwise? Brighton or Eastbourne?

What do you think would happen if you just turned up at Crowborough? Or have you spoken to your MW about it at the Drs? Maybe she knows someone there who can do a tour?

Good to see people on here again!

Halloween party later at my gaf you coming ?

TrickOrTReggiee · 30/10/2009 18:13

I've already name changed for your party Lal. Pleased you all noticed

Wilkie have I told you about my amazingly quick second birth?? Second births are sooo much faster . Patronise patronise brag patronise . Yeah, but at least your bladder hasn't collapsed through your fanjo...........

Lizz you preggers yet? No pressure or anything but Shimmer and 2H will be dropping soon.
Cheers for your FB email me dear. Muchos appreciated.

BTW, have finally been potty training this week and after a dodgy couple of days, I think we're almost there

Wilkiepedia · 30/10/2009 20:16

Shimmer - in all seriousness I would consider a home birth. Sounds a nightmare.

Reg - glad potty training going well. Told you she'd get it in the end

OK so unanswered question: did Trixy pop OK and do we know what she had?????

Well, DH and L have the shits. Delightful. But on the plus side L has managed 3 full nights sleep. Am not counting my chicken but hopefully long may it continue!!!!!!!

Lizzzombie · 30/10/2009 21:24

Rgee - you're really selling it to me!!!

OP posts:
Shimmer · 30/10/2009 22:18

Thanks for all your messages about my hospital dilemmas everyone. I'm seeing MW next week so i've decided not to panic until i've spoken to her about everything.

Just got the official photos of my friends wedding in California that i went to a little while ago. They're lovely but i look huge and fat in all of them! I mean, obviously pregnant, but also just generally fat! I can't wait to have this baby and lose some weight! Moan moan moan...

Lizz did you get my FB message? Thanks so much for the Mothercare vouchers!

What does everyone think of the name Grayson?? I'd never really heard it before, but saw Grayson Perry (an artist) on Have I Got News For You the other night, and thought it was quite a cool name! We're struggling for boys names. Freddie was nearly Gabriel, and thats pretty much the only other possibility at the moment.

For girls there's still loads i like: Isabelle, Coco, Adele, Lily, Madeline.... if 'it's' a girl it might end up with about 5 names if we can't decide!

Lizzzombie · 31/10/2009 20:20

I watched Have I Got News For You with him on it too. Plus, there was an article in the Guardian with him recently about his new installation "The Walthemstow Tapestry".
I think he is quite interesting.

The Grayson name is rather cool too. I went to school with a Perry too.

Hope you all had a good Halloween. Can't believe it's November already. Anyone going to a fireworks display this year? Thinking of taking the boys to their first one as there's one at a farm not a long way away that starts at 6.30 so back in time for bed.

Shimmer - I've got a double chin . Lost lots of weight this year pre-pg and really hating piling it all back on. Sorry to hear about your birthing dilemmas, not much I can add really (and you certainly don't want to hear about my 2nd-births-are-even-shittier-than-first experience )

Reggie - glad the potty training finally getting somewhere

Lal - how was your party?

Lizzzombie · 02/11/2009 15:08

2Happy - I can't decide on wether to take DJ to fireworks or not. He likes watching them from the window (Eastbourne has them 2x a week on the seafront and if we lean out we can just see them!) but I've never taken him to see them as its been too late.

Can't decide if it will be too loud or not.

TAFKAAAAAARGHtheUrbanDryad · 02/11/2009 15:12

Hi everyone - sorry I've abandoned this thread a bit, things haven't been so great Chez Urban, there are threads dotted all around MN on it!

Will try and read up on how everyone's doing, are there any new pregnancies? How's everyone's new babies doing?

Wilkiepedia · 02/11/2009 22:05

Shimmer - Grayson, I actually quite like that...unusual but not chavvy unusual IYKWIM. My friend was going to call her little boy Arthur which I also think is lovely.

Nothing much to report here. Have all taken it in turns to have D&V which has been pleasant. L just getting over it bless him. Never has one baby pooed quite so much.

Here's a question: Pampers & Huggies - leak every time he poos, regardless of amount. Utter nightmare if we are out and about and he poos. Anyone recommend a different brand that DOES NOT LEAK??

Lizzzombie · 03/11/2009 07:11

Lidl nappies have great reviews on here, but never tried them.

Have you tried both types of nappies:- Active fit & comfort fit which bother Huggies & Pampers do?

There is Naturecare too. Again, never tried them. We sell them at work, Boots sell them too. Good luck!

OP posts:
Reggiee · 05/11/2009 19:57

I'm a Huggies gal and we have usually non explosive poo - phew.

We've had the lurgy here too. Well, that's not strictly true. I've had the lurgy (the D&V one) and thankfully no one else has (yet). Seems to be so much illness everywhere atm. Hope everyone is well.

Hi UD. Not seen what's been happening with you. How are things?

Lizz / 2H have you gone to the fireworks then? I get a great view over the city from our top room. But I'm too frightened to go up there tonight as they finally started work on our loft extension. And somehow managed to bring down half my bathroom ceiling which was a great pleasure for me to come home to today. Still haven't managed to contact the builders about it. Joy.

Shimmer did you get any joy from the mw this week? BTW I think Grayson is a fab name.

Wilkie did Trixy pop on the same day as you??

EaH have you recovered from your very busy MN-ing week . Fab result from Boden.

Oh PCF thats pants. I do hope something comes up soon.
Is it retail he is looking for or was there something else which he would do too?
(I will ask at work tomorrow if there are vacancies in Worthing - the discount maybe handy for you!) Can't believe T is 6 months - its justflying past isn't it. x

Advice please!
Dylan has a hacking cough. I've been giving him tixylix at night time and benyln during the day, was just wondering if anyone has any other cough remedies that they can recommend for small children?

OP posts:
2Happy · 09/11/2009 14:43

Sorry to hear that, PCF, hope he finds something else.

Hope D feeling better, Lizz.

Reggiee · 09/11/2009 19:41

Aww PCF so sorry to hear this. I thought of you as I walked past the same booze shop near me and they were selling off stock .

Hi Lizz I've yet to find a good cough remedy. P had a hacking cough for two weeks and it's finally been improving since the weekend.

Hi 2H. How's the bump?

eandh · 11/11/2009 07:48

Morning...sorry I have been MIA the TR thing took off slightly more than I expected and took days of emailing/co ordinating, then had a mini MN break to actually speak to DH and the dd's and then Ellie got a virus thing so off school and I came down with swine flu last weds night/thursday I have never felt so ill in my life I slept solidly from Thursday afternoon to Saturday tea time (thank God my Mum was around as she did school run on Friday and thent ook Hattie for the day, picked Ellie up, fed them and bathed them and dh picked them up at 5.30) Yesterday was my first day of almost felling normal although I hadnt eaten since Weds and now when I eat it seems to go straight through me?? On the poitive side have lost about 7lbs through illness

Had Ellie's parents evening last week..highly amusing and exactly what we expected, apparently she can't count to 10 but her writing is way above normal, but anything to do with numbers/maths and she goes into la la land oh and she tends to like to 'lead' play which we think is a polite way of saying bossy so we are working on that.

PCF- sorry to hear about dh, fingers crossed for you and cant beleieve T is 6months old!!!

RGee- Hope P is on the mend

Vino - have you gone to India yet?

Wilkie- new business sounds fab

Laughalot - no doubt we'll speak in a bit so 'hi'

Lizz- I am bad Mummy I lied and said cough misture was for Ellie and gave Hattie a spoonful

And now I can't remember who else has posted and I need to wash up breakfast things before school run so bye

Shimmer · 11/11/2009 22:42

Hi all. Ohhh sorry to hear about the swine flu EAH. Sounds horrid. Hope you're completlely over it now.

Hows DJ Lizz? I've never found anything that really helps coughs either. Warm(ish) milk or any hot drink i guess.

PCF, sorry to hear about DPs redundancy. All fingers crossed that he finds something else soon.

I finally made it into the birth centre in Crowborough last week! (the one that i posted a while ago i'd been trying for weeks to get an appointment to see) It was great and I met a lovely midwife there so REALLY hope everything goes smoothly in the last few weeks and I can give birth there.

Ooooh jst wanted to try the new biscuit smiley

Just had my first cup of raspberry leaf tea. Bleuch! I forgot how gross it was. It better be doing me some good!! I've bought a couple of goregous Christmas outfits for the new LO, so I am determined to have it early or at least on time so that it has time to wear them! Bought a cute little 'My First Christmas' photo album from Mothercare the other day, but said that if I did end being quite overdue, we'll just have to fill it with pics of me looking fat & pissed off!
