Morning

Am loitering on here for a bit as Ellie now at school for most of the day so we leave at 8.20 however I havent judged the 'getting them ready to leave on time' so we are all ready and its 7.40 although carpet fitters coming at 8 somay make them a cuppa then dissapear and let them work in peace!

DH had decided to do the 10k run at leeds castle on sunday morning, am panicing slightly as we have the christening too but the run is at 10am and wont take him long and we live about 10mins from Leeds castle plus christening not till 2.30pm (delightful as Hattie will start to get the hump around 4.30)

laughalot · 23/09/2009 11:09

Hi lizz its sep to june .

Dragonhart · 24/09/2009 19:08

Hi all, thanks for all the replies to my question, sorry it took me so long to respond. It has been chaos here with Luke starting School and Ruth starting playgroup (preschool). It is a 20min walk each way to Luke's school so I am certainly getting fit. Which wasnt helped today when I forgot his Lunch so had to do the 40min round trip 3 times!

So we sat down and had a big chat about what another child would mean and we have decided that 3 is it. DH reminded me exactly how hard Rachel's preg was and suddenly the thought of doing it again seems awful. So I have started to get rid of clothes, toys etc to try and help me get over it. TBH I think that if I had had a 4th I would have felt exactly the same when it was 1. Thanks again x

Lizz- sounds hard at work. Hope it gets better soon. Ouch with the £500 though!

EAH- Glad E and H settling in well. Luke LOVES school and Ruth just ran into playgroup to play and wasnt even bothered about saying goodbye! I know I should be happy but when I got home, Rachel went down for her nap and then I was all alone. It felt weird. Your degree sounds great. I would def go for it. My cousin left her degree when she left school after 2wks and is now in her final year of her BEd and says it was the best thing she has done!

Laughalot- Course sounds great. L sounds just like Ruth. We went to her cousins bday party and she charmed everyone in her party dress and they all thought she was gentle and lovely. Little did they know that she can often reduce Luke to tears and loves to lie across Rachel's back when she is crawling and squash her, pinch her, scratch her. SHe is the worst big sister! I only hope one day that they get on.

Rgee, just saw some pics of B on FB and he looks like he is doing really well. He has gorgeous eyes!

Shimmer/2happy- Hope the preg are going well and you are feeling ok.x

Wilkie- Hope all well with you.

Hi to everyone else. xxx

I'm here too Laughalot! Did I kill the thread?!

eandh · 04/10/2009 21:27

i'm here

Reggiee · 04/10/2009 21:40

hello....hello .....hello....

I'm here. Have been lurking but v little happening .

So, what's the gossip? I've been stalking watching what you've all been up to via your FB updates.

Dragon / Eah / PCF how's school going? Can't believe we're in October already .

Lal how's the course going? A change of career sounds v exciting. Does A like having his mum at his school once a week?

Wilkie to hear about your itching. Are you any further on knowing what's causing it? Your FB piccies of the boys are gorgeous.

PCF / Wilkie can't believe how quickly our littlest boys are growing up. B is 5 and a half months and is now in a particularly cute phase. Hopefully he's grown out of his tummy troubles, and is now very giggly, particularly when tickled. Can sit up unaided for a v short period of time, and I'm awaiting his first tooth due any day now. Will get round to weaning in a week or so.

Shimmer / 2H how are you feeling? You must have good bumps by now. BTW Shimmer I love Rocco as a boys name. Love the girls names too (Isabel and its deriviatives are becoming more popular - I hear quite a few of these now). And I don't think family should have any say at all!

Lizz I thought of you yesterday as we had to cough up over £600 for our car after it failed its MOT spectacularly .

Eah sounds like you're sorted for Xmas . Am still toying with getting P a bike or dolls house or nothing else for Xmas / birthday. She just has sooo much stuff it's obscene. Don't know what to get Lee though so any novel ideas for a gadget loving sports loving male welcome.

Vino good luck with the new job . Have you got your India trip all sorted now?

Vino / Wilkie you free to meet any time soon?

(decides to post before my laptop crashes)

Reggiee · 04/10/2009 21:49

So, all not too bad with us. Off to Center Parcs tomorrow for our hols . Builders also coming tomorrow to start on house renovations so kinda glad to be out of the way for the first week of that when they'll be a huge hole in the roof.

P still not potty trained but she did her first ever wee on the nursery toilet last week . I think I'm going to actively try potty training one weekend later this month and am hoping it will be a piece of literal pi$$ as she is so old . On the bragging front, she can write her name so it is (almost) legible . Just had a full on introduction to the world of toddler birthday parties, having been invited to 4 in 3 weeks. Just about recovered.....Made me think I should have one for her but then decided it was too much faff this year .

Right. Should get moving really. Our house is a proper tip as we've moved all the junk out of the loft room and deposited it in other random rooms. Am writing a list of things I need to squeeze into the freshly repaired car tomorrow but drinking wine doesn't help.

Hope to hear from y'all soon!

Lizzzombie · 05/10/2009 08:24

Hi everyone! I'm here still!
Have a good holiday Rgee. What are the builders doing?
Bummer about the car mot. Very annoying.

We went out to meet some mates in Hove yesterday (PCF - by the lagoon, the park there is so good) it was very very windy. Heather Mills Mccartney has a vegan cafe there (which we didn't go into) but it was so windy that the umbrellas outside the cafe all got caught up into a gust and flew up into the air. As I ran over to grab one in case it impailed someone....
...another woman was running towards the same umbrella. It was Zoe Ball! (she runs fast for a pregnant lady!) Get me, mixing with the rich and famous!

Evening

Ellie loving school and we have parents evening in November so that will be interesting, but I didnt realise how much money they'd wnat, money for school subs, money for school dinners (only 1 day a week) money for sponsored bike ride, money for after school club I am skint ;-). Hattie did love preschool then we had tears but now she loves it again :-)

Am almost sorted for xmas, got Ellie that wooden desk on ebay (and my fab great uncle who is a caprenter has decided to add little feet to the bottom to stop it marking, plus sanded it down and revarnished and put runner son the drawer (honestly it was fine when we got it) and also got her barbie mp3 player as her main presents and got lots of stocking fillers. Getting Hattie this and some stocking fillers but I think Father Christmas may be practical this year and get pj's/cocks/colouring pens etc

Rgee - hope building work goes ok and you arehaving a nice week

Lizz- oooo get you and your celeb pals sounds v.windy

PCF - cute about all 3 boys, can't beleive how old all these babies are now

Wilkie - just replied to your email, hows JJ with L now, they look v.cute in pics

Wilkiepedia · 05/10/2009 22:19

Yo am about too. Quickie as off to bedski

L is 16 weeks already! Argh! He is rolling around and grabbing everything. He has been eating parsnip (bad mother I know blah blah blah) to a desperate attempt to get him to sleep through but to no avail. Boo. He is utterly adorable - smiley and giggly.

J is great. We have got rid of dummies, bedguard, nappies - he's clean and dry. My boy is grown up!!

EAH - thanks for info, have replied to email. You're a star

Lizz - did you get my email answering your Q? Never heard the outcome

DH - I think 3 is enough! Sensible choice

PCF - time is just flying isn't it. Love the pics on FB BTW

Reg - have a great hols. Yes to meet up, Vino has emailed re child free night out. Whoo! Just need to check dates first.

Laughalot - not long till Michael McIntyre. You excited! We can't wait!!!

Shimmer - what date are you due??

Night all xx

eandh · 06/10/2009 06:36

to cocks obviously socks! Actually need to pick your brains, has anyone seen any of that soap that normally has small toyin the middle (ie you uase all the soap to get the toy) Ellie desperate for some and I assumed Hawkins Bazaar would sell it but they don't

Lizzzombie · 06/10/2009 08:10

Morning! Nice to see lots of people on here!

Eah - Have you tried Boots. They normally have it in their character toy section. eg. Dora/barbie toy soap. Will keep an eye out.
Good news about the desk too. The woman in the junk shop hasn't rung me to say she had one in. But I checked the other day and she still has my number on her pin board! Will let you know if she gets any more in.

Wilkie - The email re biting? sorry totally forgot to reply. We have had a communication book with nursery going back and forth so we can see what type of bad behaviour he has done. Also we have been MUCH more strict with him. And to be honest (touch wood!!!) it seems to have paid off. I think alot of it was to do with us being slack on the discipline front. Evidentally little boys (well, mine anyway) seem to respond to heavy handed law enforcement!)
As a result he has been miles easier to handle.

Wilkie/LAL - Who is Micheal Mcintyre?!
I've also made a concerted effort to mix with friends who have little boys and not little girls so he doesn't get accused of doing things which are naughty.
A couple of people have commented to me that they were impressed with how I handled him (discipline wise) when were are in the park etc. Which makes a change from Mothers saying he had bitten/pushed their child etc!

OP posts:
Wilkiepedia · 06/10/2009 08:46

Lizz - nice one! We are very firm with J - I think it does pay off in the long run although sometimes you feel like all you do is say 'no'. Dsis is just discovering this with the twins as she has always been very soft (IMO) and they can be difficult at times, but hey - different horses for different courses.

Michael McIntyre is a hilariously funny comedian kilt sketch - cannot wait!!!!!!!

EAH - am going to Asda later will look for soap for you. Not seen any recently but know what you mean.

eandh · 06/10/2009 13:48

thanks for the suggestions will try in boots, I may be a bit too early yet but Ellie got some last year and lovd it and makes a good stocking filler.

Lizz I got this one on ebay and it is perfect condition (and now uncle has been adding extras to it even better) because we thought we would be spendiung £50/£60 on it, it has meant that we have been able to get her a Barbie MP3 player (reduced to £20 in argos) to go with it (am going to have to load all her HSM/Hannah Montana albums onto it )

Popped to toys r us with friend this morning (we were both childless ) and she had £10 off bike voucher so got Hattie the electric bike I linked to for £39.99 although its still in teh car as had to pick her up from preschool straight after.

Lizz-well done on discipline and what a fab job you must be doing to get comments from other people

Its v.quiet here Hattie watching Lilo and Stitch film (thats at leats 80minutes of peace for me) and We don't need to leave for another hour to collect Ellie so we are snuggled up on the sofa with a blanket, hot chocolate and some sweets Just going to go onto HMV website as loads of dvds reduced (3 fireman sam dvds £4.99/ most barbie films are £4.99 etc plus free delivery) so going to order some for other little people we buy for for xmas (cop out present but we all said £5 limit this yera so makes a good present)

Shimmer · 10/10/2009 21:19

Hi All! Been AWOL for a while as usual but back now. And FINALLY in our house, above the shop in Lewes! We moved in last weekend and all is going well. Well, unpacking is SLOOOOOOOOOOW progress and we're still surrounded by boxes and crates and loads of random suitcases spilling out all over the place. But I guess we'll get there eventually....

I'm due 15 Dec so still got 2 months to go. Think it's going to go mega quick though. (We might just have finished unpacking by then... ) I swear I'm WAY bigger than last time already. I can't imagine how huge i'm going to be if i carry on growing at this rate for the next 2 months!!

Although we don't actually know the sex I still really feel it's going to be a girl. I keep having to remind myself I shouldn't actually be buying dresses and just thinking of giirls names!

OKay, going to read back over what everyone's been up to now....

Shimmer · 13/10/2009 20:42

oh my goodness! Where is everyone!?? Come baaaaaack......................

Lizzzombie · 14/10/2009 07:27

I'm here!

Just nothing exciting to report.
Glad you moved into your flat now. Hope that makes life miles easier. Does Freddie go to nursery in Lewes now too?

I've got something to send you actually. Is it the same address as the shop?

x

I'm here too! Lurking but with not much to say.

Just had a massage so am feeling nice and chilled. Tea being served up in 10 mins .

So...how is everyone on the quietest MN thread?

Good to hear from you Shimmer. Hope you aren;t lifting too many heavy boxes?? Can't believe you've only got two months left. THink we're due a couple of pink flavours after the recent pile of blues.

Lizz you must have something to report. Have you had any wild nights out lately ?

EaH I am progressing well with Xmas shopping. But what are you getting / have got your dh? I need inspiration.
What are you doing to fill your time when H is at preschool?

Wilkie / PCF I've started weaning this week. Forgot how sloooow the whole process is initially. And B hadn't rolled since doing it both ways a few weeks ago (in a 'you can tick that box mum, now I don't ever want to roll on these wooden floors' way). He is however now in that really really nice stage . Is L attempting to crawl yet Wilkie? I remember J doing that really early on. No teeth yet here but I reckon there might be one by the weekend..

Ohhh, dinner ready. Quick hello to evereyone else

Lizzzombie · 15/10/2009 07:18

Hi Rgee!
Can categorically say that I have not had any wild nights out recently!
Did meet a really nice mum in park recently and invited her out with some of my friends last weekend. Felt like I was asking her on a date though!
Its Dp's birthday on Saturday & he has categorically stated he doesn't want any presents...so, I have just planned a weekend of treats and I hope he doesn't mind that I took him at his word!

No work on Saturday though! Yippee!

Did I mention that we get lots of odd Hastings people over to Eastbourne now as the shop in Hastings has closed. Well its a standing joke that some people from Hastings are a bit odd. Turns out that there is actually an inbreeding problem over there at the moment and one of the girls I work with, her Auntie is a MW there, they've recently had lots of uncle/nieces & cousins having babies. GROSS!

OP posts:
TrickOrTReggiee · 15/10/2009 08:59

V strange goings on in your neck of the woods Lizz. I know cousins is legal and all that but eughhhh....
A weekend of treats sounds lovely btw. They usually take a lot more thought than a pressie. Hope you are included in all the treats too .

Finally went to the hospital this week to check my prolapse. TMI ALERT It is 'moderate' and it is my bladder that is pushing through my vagina . Apparently I am lucky I am not incontinent (if I smell of wee, no one is mentioning it ). Exercises may help or I my need surgery, so we started off with the basic exercises and I have been sent away with specific ones to do. Go back in a few weeks to see if that has helped in any way. Going to be a long process but am most frustrated that I'm not allowed to run, hence won't be able to lose weight. Not allowed to lift either, but that's not going to happen with a toddler and baby.

Hope you all have a good day. Raining here.

Lizzzombie · 15/10/2009 12:27

Oh Rgee - big hugs to you. At least they can do something about it, and it could have been worse.

I've just f*ked up Dp's birthday cake. Am blaming Nina & the Neurons, she was experimenting with baking powder yesterday & I put more in to the mix than I should have. Its gone wrong. Oops.
Can't bring myself to chuck it. May just gorge on it!

Btw - there are no inbreds where I live! They just come shopping where I work. There are some seriously very strange people from that town!

Has anyone been to a Haven holiday place in the Lake District? Am looking online atm, and its about £150 for 7 nights in mid-May at Lakeland. It would take ages to get there, but it looks quite nice. Its just near Grange over Sands.
