Whooo 2Happy - great news. Have you been chatting to the big white telephone every morning then??? Fabulous news

xx

2Happy · 18/08/2009 19:59

Awww, thanks guys.

I feel absolutely shite . Am now 13 weeks and the MS started at 3 fecking weeks, how unfair is that?! And it carried on until 19w with ds2, so am thoroughly fed up with it and I am NEVER doing this again!! Have told dh he's got to go and get the snip, or I am getting the breeze blocks out

We've told the boys, and ds1 was telling everyone at dh's works BBQ on sunday, so it's just as well we've gone public now! They came to my scan yesterday. ds2 doesn't get it, keeps saying he doesn't want a baby . but ds1 is totally excited about it, it's very cute, though I suspect the novelty may just wear off when there's really a baby here!

I've asked for a late scan to see the baby's position, and if it's anything other than LOA I'll be sectioned, so no worries about being late! But if it is LOA I'd prefer to have a try - though they won't induce if you've had a section, so bets on how late I could go may get into flipping April knowing me!

Anyway, far too much me me me. I have lurked at times, and caught some of the gossip. Reg, hope you've recovered from the pram incident. eandh and lal sounds like a great time in legoland. Lizz - any more news about jobs for you? Vino - India Shimmer - how are you feeling?? PCF - happy birthday Alex! Wilkie - has L's feeding settled any? UD - hope you're boob is healing. Sorry if I've missed anyone!

Promise to try posting more in future x

Shimmer · 18/08/2009 22:12

Congratulations 2Happy!!! Much sympathies about the sickness, I had it BAAAAAAAAAAD this time round from about 4 weeks til about 12/13, then it just suddenly stopped, so fingers crossed your's gets better soon.

Lizz, EAH, can deffo make 27th Sept. Monkey Bizness would be great, or we could do Spring Barn Farm if it's sunny?

I'm a bit ill at the moment I'm not 100% sure, but think i might have tonsillitis. No cold, runny nose etc. but just razor throat and EVIL cough. So sleeping really badly at the moment, and I can't even blame it on babies/toddlers. I should really be off to bed now, but Ugly Betty just started....

So I have a question: Do children wee in their sleep?? Or do people generally HAVE to wake up (just a bit) to wee? F. only wears pants in the daytime now which is great, but i'm always a bit concerned when he naps during the day that he might have an accident when he's asleep. And then what happens when they stop wearing nappies at night???

Well done to L laughalot! I'm very glad to be done with daytime nappy changes! (for the next 4 months anyway)

eandh · 19/08/2009 06:18

Shimmer - Ellie was dry int he day at 2.1 but just couldn't grasp nightimes and wet the bed so much that we went back to pull ups at night, she was 3.9 before we finally got her out of them at bedtime (think some of it was laxiness as she knew she had a pull up on so would wee!)

Hattie was 2.2 when dry and went to be ing dry at night straight away (we would lift her at 10pm and she'd have a wee on the loo whilst asleep) but over last few months she seems to be in a deeper sleep and been wetting the bed so I have jone back to pull up at night (although have to weait till shes asleep to put it on as she just takes it off if awake) its very random 5 out of 7 mornings it'll be dry and the other 2 it'll be soaked

No help with nap time though as bith of mine gave up day naps at 2 [nap] so never an issue

vinorouge · 19/08/2009 07:31

Shimmer - since E started wearing pants I haven't put anything on her for a nap. She has a nap on her buggy at home and I have a 'wetec' seat liner (from mothercare) in it so if she does wet herself it doesn't wet the buggy. I also have one in her car seat for the same reason. They are great as you just wash them and use them again, basically like a thin towel with a waterproof backing. She very rarely wets herself in nap but has done it a bit recently and they have been HUUUUUGGGGE wees that have overwhelmed the wetec. Oh well!

She still wears a pull up at night. We use pampers ones that have a pic of bob the builder on them so they are known as bob pants in our house. Sometimes they're soaked and sometimes they're not.

Lizzzombie · 21/08/2009 12:18

This dress is so cute, I had to link it on here, as all my friends either have little boy babies or lots of girl babies so don't need new baby girl clothes.
I want to buy it just to have!

Hope everyone is well. xxx

That dress is cute Lizz but my heifer of a a young child would not fit into it! Not surprised that S can't walk yet cos she is so stocky and chubby.

I got given a bag of stuff for e& s this mornng that has some lovely clothes in.

I am getting quite into my 'be prepared for christmas' shopping. I'll probaly end upw ith way too much stuff if I carry on like this.

Child free weekend for me now. Mum and DAd picked them up this morn until Mon after work. Got to work tomorrow morn then going out with friends in aft and having 2 of them stay over at my house. DH going on a boys nigth out in Newcastle so will be away overnight.

Glass of vino or two for me tonight!

OMG we had soooooo much fun at our venture photo session yesterday. GOing for the preview next Saturday. Cheapest thing is £245 though! Defo going to get something though.

Wilkiepedia · 21/08/2009 17:29

Vino - ha ha we have 'Bob pants' here too. J's are usually soaking. The Wetec thing sounds great, might have to invest although he has a bladder like a camel (do camel's have good bladders??) and can hold onto his wees for ages.

Lizz - dress is cute!! I have an obsession with looking at girls clothes when I am out shopping for the boys. It's the only thing that makes me feel sad really about having two boys - I am actually pleased we had two of same sex now as I think they will be great mates when they are older. I think siblings of different sex are nice for the parents though.

2Happy - so was this a 2Happy accident or a planned third? I think all of you parents of 3 are very brave people

EAH - still haven't found a buggy board maxi for a decent price. Have you had any luck? I am desperate for one but don't want to pay £50!!

Shimmer - how many weeks do you have to go? Can't be too long now.

...wasn't Trixy due in Aug???

Well, we are JJ free but DH has come down with tonsillitis! Grrrr, we were meant to be going for a chinese at our mates house.

Have lost 4lbs in 10 days! Whoo! Another 10lb to go though...booo....and have come on so have major chocolate craving (have actually sneaked a choc bisc today!).

L is HUUUUGGGGEEE seems to be growing by the day. He is SO long and just solid, not fat. He snores like buggery though when he is asleep. He's in his own room now for that reason! He's SO noisy! He giggled for the first time today which was just adorable. Oh and JJ and L had a bath together last night. Never has L's willy been washed quite so much....

Congratulations 2happy! Very pleased for you. x

Sorry not been on for ages, I have been looking in. Been chaos here with all the work on the house and Luke's bday then our holiday, Rachel's birthday last fri and her baptism next sun.

EAH- Are you ready for school then?! I have LUke's uniform now and when I put him in it he looked soooo old. Not ready for my little boy to go to school!

Lizz- very cute dress! I love older style dresses and clothes like that. I went to buy some clothes for DH's cousins little girl last year and in next they had backless tops and vv short black skirts for 4yo! Horrible!

Pink our holidays have gone quick too. Not long now and Luke will be at school and Ruth will go for 2 mornings a week at playgroup. It will be v odd to go to having just Rachel 2 mornings!

Shimmer- Luke is still in pullups at night. Have tried lifting but doesnt seem to work for him. Ruth on the other hand has been dry at night since I started potty training her 4wks ago. Have been putting pullup on but they are dry every morning and she gets up to do a wee in the morning. Hope you are feeling better now.

Laughalot- Well done to L. Amazing how big a part poos and wees play in your life after having kids!

Wilkie- Well done on the weight loss. Another vote for the wetec here. Great for long journeys!

Vino- Hope you enjoyed your weekend. I nearly cried when they showed us the pics they had taken at venture. They put music in the backgroupd and dim the lights! So gorgeous but soooooo expencive!

Rgee- Hope all well with you. Glad B was ok after his fall. I have this terrible thing where if the kids do something like falling and hurting themselves badly I cant help grinning. I dont know why I do it as I am usually worried to death but cant seem to helpmyself. When we were in wales in june, Ruth fell off one of those concrete water breaks down onto the pavement and hit her head. She bounced up again and only cried for a minute or so but I couldnt help smilling! V odd.

Hope everyone else ok. xxx

Dragonhart · 23/08/2009 22:08

Oh and just a quick question for all those who dont want anymore children;

Did you just know for sure that you didnt want anymore and doyou feel broody when friends have babies?

I dont think I could go through another preg especially if it was like Rachel's and I came pretty close to breaking point in the first few months of having her. But I cant get rid of this feeling that I want/need another. I always wanted 4 but know that I would really struggle with a 4th. DH and I have decided we are not having anymore and I know it is the right decision for us but I cant shake the feeling that I am ment to have another. I know it sounds crazy! I am hoping it is just that Rachel is 1 now and not a baby anymore and me just having to let go.

vinorouge · 24/08/2009 12:31

Dragon - after I had Ellen I wanted another almost straight away even though I found being a mum hard, I just wanted another baby IYKIM. Then wehn I had scare about cystic fybrosis while pg with SYlvie I decided I didn't want the responsibility of being pg again, when I was in labour with Sylvie I defo thought I didn't want to do it again (even though it was ok as labours go). When Sylvie was born I loved her being a baby but was also desperate to fast forward to her being 16 months plus when they start to get more interesting / own personality. Loads of my friends have had babies recently and I can honestly say I haven't been broody. I get excited about new babies and love having baby cuddles but thats it. DH and I both definite that we don't another. I have the coil but we haven't talked about anything more permanent.

Hope RAchel's baptism goes well. Sounds lovely that you and she will have some time alone together with school and playgroup.

Wilkie - hope you are feeling brighter today. Maybe it will mean you lose more weight?

2happy - I saw 2 green and yellow tractors yesterday and thought of you!

2Happy · 24/08/2009 15:29

Vino - where were you to see the tractors? It's another agricultural show on monday, but what a shame! I'm working, and the ILs are taking the boys!! How was your child-free weekend?

Dragon - I had the feeling the family wasn't complete at 2. Even though I didn't want to go through pg/birth/sleepless nights again, and out house is too small, and the car won't fit 3 car seats and we can't afford 3 kids, having 3 seemed the right number. I tell you what though, I know for sure I don't want another . Mind, I think there's a cyclical element to broodiness - whenever I fancied a 3rd, I would always find I was mid-cycle, which is only natural really isn't it?

Wilkie - congrats on the weight loss. I could ask dh if camels have big bladders, but I'm not sure that's an animal he has much experience with

The boys are knackered after their trip to London. I've stopped ds1's nap in preparation for starting school next month, so he's a grouchy so-and-so this afternoon. And I need a nap quite frankly. I feel the approach of CBeebies...!

Wilkiepedia · 24/08/2009 20:33

Dragon - I agree with what Vino said. When Leo was born I immediately wanted another baby and spent the first couple of weeks feeling sad that I wouldn't have another (?!?) however, the reality of being pg again (let's be honest I am the worst pg person ever), the fear of getting that PUPPPS rash again and going through the baby stage again, we defo don't want any more. DH is happy to have the snip but I want to wait until Leo is 1 really as I think if (god forbid) anything should happen then I wouldn't want just one child.

Vin - am feeling bit brighter although tonsils are totally white and was delirious with temp last night. Could have SWORN my sis was in my bedroom!??!

Lizzzombie · 26/08/2009 07:13

Morning everyone!
Hope you are better Wilkie. Sounds nasty hallucinating. How many times do you have to have it before the take your tonsils out?

Has everyone got the 10% discount code for online shopping at Mothercare.? KC9 its valid until August 31st. They did a big mail out to regular customers but we are using it for every transaction in store online.

Am having a night mare at work. Manager left to go to a bigger store, we have no assistant manager as they are phased out for small shops like ours. We have one (18) year old FT staff member who is thoroughly fed up with being put upon, and 3 of our PT'ers are leaving with two more looking for a job. Which leaves me and two others + 1 weekend girl. We DO NOT have enough staff! There are lots of rumours about of them closing us down (they've shut Hastings our nearest branch) and making a big Mothercare world out of town somewhere. Which will be very annoying as my job is very convenient.

Anyway. I keep being rota'd in for overtime, but its not worth doing as the tax man takes it, plus I have to pay for DJ to go to nursery more so there is no point, which makes it look like I am not pulling my weight. Its pants.

No other news.

Can't comment on the more children or not debate. I swing wildly from one day to the next. When I am being screamed at or running after my escaping child then I thin NO NEVER!! But when new mums come in with their teeny tiny newborns and I am selling the little outfits, then I think, ahhhh...so cute maybe I will...?! Have no idea.

The thought of actually being pregnant again is not appealing, and the giving birth bit doesn't really enthrall me either! Hmm...maybe I'll get one from ebay afterall. One of those fake ones!!!

BTW - those of you who work less than full time hours. Do you think of yourself as SAHMs? Someone mentioned in passing to me the other day that I was a SAHM and I thought it sure doesn't feel like it from where I am standing!
I think they need a new term for people who work PT.
I am a H&Hm (half & half Mum) or a PTWM (PT working mother) ... any other ideas?
