Afternoon ladies. Had a bit of a crap night with George. He woke at 10.30 pm took about an hour to settle. Woke again at 1am but so did David because he was coughing like mad Didn't take too long to settle though. Just settled back to bed and I heard a woman crying and wailing in the street about 2am some bloke shouted out 'oi you ok?' she went quiet after that.
Oh well went to playgroup with him this morning and he was just fine
Edward and George in bed now. Will wake Edward at 1.30 and see how tonight goes
My Mum will be here soon so better hoover round.
xx

still here less than a week to go - dh back tonight good baby for waiting for daddy to return.

had my mum here a couple of days which was lovely.

charlie has far too many words for her own good and can speak in quite good little sentences and can sing all of round and round the garden , twinkle twinkle and wind the bobbin and ring of roses.

she was bought a little fairy castle at christmas whihc i manged to get out and put up whihc ha sbeen blowing up the garden much to charlie's delight - new phrase nanny/mummy get it princess castle.

she is also counting everything all the time very funny as the odd number here and there gets missed out and then back to the beginning again.

feel quite sad that a new one is coming but true charlie so sweet seems a shame but I know that will all change once new lo arrives and it will be like there was always 2. going to get food

LaTrucha · 26/06/2009 13:19

Gingeme - sorry you had a rubbish night. Sabela up at 5.00 here but was very strict and she eventually went back to sleep. Hope tonight is much better.

Lilyloo - those are great and very competitive prices. Is it just me wh othinks that even £25 is alot to pay for a bit of moulded plastic? Perfect tea set found though! Thanks.

Nicky - I can see what you mean about the new baby changing things. Our LOs are at such a lovely age now. When I think of getting pg again and possibly having hyperemesis again I can; tbear to think of all I'd miss.

simpson · 26/06/2009 15:55

nicky - C sounds a delight M counting too but can only get to seven

Tried to get M singing on camcorder today but she refused to play ball

J has fallen over on the way back from school so have dying swan routine

Don't know how he is going to cope with school all day TBH. Although think the heat is not helping.

M at creche today as I did keep fit class which was not easy in this heat!!

Lilyloo · 26/06/2009 19:26

I can't remember where we got our old sand pit from , think it was tesco or something. TBH we threw it away as the kids just ended up throwing all sand round garden and it just collected mucky water from the rain which they then played in!
Was thinking about replacing it for M but might just leave it. M has had a whale of a time playing with washing up bowl full of water and cups in the garden. Even L and two neighbours dc's playing with it yesterday!

Wow Nicky she is a real chatterbox , and Simps M too. M still not saying anything more but does love animals so makes lot's of cute animal noises. She just grabs my finger and takes me to what she wants rather than trying to tell me. Seems weird as both the other two were early talkers but hey ho she keeps me on my toes enough in lot's of other ways

Ginge have nice weekend with your mum. Have you got any time planned for just the two of you ?

FairySparkles · 26/06/2009 19:29

nicky - how much is your lo understanding the new baby coming? Ells was watching my belly jiggle around earlier and decided to give it a rather enthusiastic pounding - she meant it in a nice way but I can just see the new one getting carried around in a well intentioned head-lock!!
I also feel a bit sad a new one is coming - can't quite comprehend how i'm going to love it as much as Ells - sure I will obviously, but, just a bit hard to get your head around eh?!

LaT - I'm with you on how ridiculously expensive kids bits of plastic are! I've been meaning to get Ells a playhouse for ages but I just can't bring myself to spend over £100 on a few bits of brightly coloured tat!

LaTrucha · 26/06/2009 19:38

Lilyloo- that;s what we've been doing - a bowl and a cup. It would be nice if she could stand up though.

Sabela not really saying anything but I think yesterday she broke off from feeding and said 'mummy' very distinctly and today she said 'nana' when she saw a banana. They're both pretty close to her usual babble though so I could be mistaken.

FairySparkle - IMO it's a scandal. Which is why I always buy something smaller and cheaper and end up feeling mean. You can't win!

Lilyloo · 26/06/2009 19:40

Is there nothing on ebay ?

OP posts:
LaTrucha · 26/06/2009 19:55

Wasn't yesterday... off to look again...

simpson · 26/06/2009 20:02

I use M's old baby bath in the garden for both Dcs to play with although M keeps trying to climb in it

I agree, lots of kids toys very over priced

DCs do have a plastic playhouse which was £45 when I bought it and cannot believe that 18mths later the same play house is over £100

Talk about inflation!!

I guess the way to do it is to buy things out of season iyswim ie playhouse/sandpit in winter but hindsight is a wonderful thing!!

Lilyloo · 26/06/2009 20:03

Do the local bargain finder on ebay too as big item so no postage!

LuckySalem · 26/06/2009 20:39

LaT - Tesco!!! £15 for a sand/water table.

Hey all,

I can't get on MN very often and even this time I've only been able to get the last 10 messages so I'm so sorry if I've missed anyone.

Just saying all ok here.

JustKeepSwimming · 27/06/2009 08:43

Morning all

G - have a nice weekend with your mum. hope all boys slept better.

up at 5.50 this morning better than some mornings recently though so won't complain too much.
dh still enjoying his lie-in though! i'm so of anyone who can fall asleep so easily and sleep through anything.

Love the idea of a sand & water table but in reality can't face it. we have the paddling pool set up at the mo and both boys love that, but i feel sand might be a step too far. though i love the look of the Bob one
sand is for nursery so far in this house. plus worried the cats would use it - and not in the right way either!

H gone back to bed already, had about 5 'nods' then yawned so put him back in his cot and he was so happy. wish he would wake up more, it's starting to bother me more and more

T is fine though, watching Dora at the mo, want to go out for some strawberries later for an experiment with baking. anyone ever made fairy cakes with strawberry bits in? will it work?

DH in and out with work today so not sure what our plans are. friends with 2 DDs coming tomorrow so need to tidy up and get some food in - and check weather forecast, hopefully we can have a bbq.

Lucky - hope you get internet sorted soon.
Simps - you still online?

re talking - H not saying much, maybe it's a (mostly) girl thing to talk earlier as T didn't either (and he's a chatterbox now!), he's more interested in learning how to run, maybe boys prefer the physical side?
that's what i remember when T was this age and his friends anyway.

right, need more tea, back later

simpson · 27/06/2009 10:40

Hi all

Yes still online

TBH I expect it to go when the landline switches to sky any day now, but suprised it hasn't gone already.

My dad has a "plan" though
to keep me online that doesn't involve dial up.

JKS - I can't deal with sand here either and tend to leave that kind of thing for J's pre school. The thought of cats in the sand

On the talking front J only said mummy and duck at this age and M says 40-50 words but she hasn't really put words together yet much. have had a couple of "mummy no" though

It is hard work though when its lunch time and she is telling you what she wants "nana" "borebee" (strawberry) or "bebit" (biscuit) and has hissy fit if you dare to give her anything else

Busy day today, local park got "party in the park" with petting zoo, facepaints, bouncy castle etc. Then Happy Meal for J's tea...

Enjoy the nice weather all!!

JustKeepSwimming · 27/06/2009 19:37

Simps - glad you are still here, for a while at least

can you imagine them playing in the sand and saying 'what's this mummy?....' !!!!

hope you had a good busy day. are you coping as well as you sound without H?

watching tennis, drinking a beer (got back into it on holiday, lol) and DH cooking pizza, yum.

friends coming tomorrow, with our godchildren, delayed birthdays for their youngest and T as H's stuff kicked off and we didn't meet up back then.
hope the weather holds off enough for some beach time.

otherwise i feel all pmt-ish and picking fights with dh, you know when even the sound of him eating winds you up?!
hopefully the beer will chill me out!

hope everyone having good weekends

nicky6 · 27/06/2009 19:39

thought going into labour this morning pains in back and period type pains but this afternoon all fine again and lo wriggling.

Fairysparkles - not sure really how much she understands - she knows what a baby is and knows one is in my tummy but that a new baby is coming to join our household i dont think she realy has a clue but at 17mths I dont think you can expect them to get it really - i am hoping that lack of understanding will be a good thing as no time for her t worry and will get used to it soon afterwards well I'm hoping.

anyway have decided prefer being this fat in winter not summer!!!

bye all x

simpson · 27/06/2009 19:45

JKS - knowing M she would try and eat it!!

Panicking as put J's school trousers on (age 4) and they fell straight back down

So looks like I have to buy age 3 tom.

we finally have rain!! has been soooo muggy/close today and the lawn could do with a good soak

Lilyloo · 27/06/2009 19:53

Simps we had the rain earlier now glorious (just as i hung my washing out actually)
Same thing here with H school trousers and i find the size smaller too short so am forced to pay double to get the adjustable waist ones! Same thing happened with L skirt. Just bought one for pe days , she having pinafores for others. But the skirt was £3.50 and when i exchanged for adjustable was £8

JKS well M certainly abstains from your theory r/e talking. It must be so restrictive for you as a family to get on with things with H needing so much sleep Will his need for sleep lessen as he get's older ?

Nicky a bit early yet!

Nothing much done here today. L swimming , visited my dad. He on edge of his seat in case dc's move anything in house etc etc Mega stressful so hinted it may be easier if he came to visit us! Doubt it though Cleaned out the car and took H to library to get some cookbooks. Made orange shortbread tonight!

Lucky nice to see you

OP posts:
simpson · 27/06/2009 20:29

OMG hope I don't have to buy adjustable waist trousers at double the price.

Have ordered age 3 trousers in M&S so will have to try them tomorrow although i won't have J with me when I buy them...

Am also starting to panic has I haven't heard back from people re housing benefits as to whether they are going to pay mortgage. H will pay it for 1st July then I am on my own

Guess I have to chase them up but am scared they will say they are not paying.

Lilyloo · 27/06/2009 20:42

Simps worth trying them as even though they are more expensive they last longer with the length tbh!
Tough one on mortgage , i guess you have to face it out and ring them!

OP posts:
LaTrucha · 27/06/2009 20:48

You're very brave Simpson. It must be so stressful. I don't see why they wouldn't pay TBH. I'd bite the bullet and ring. You may be stuck in someone's in-tray if you don't.

Lilyloo- what's with your Dad?

JKS - I'm actually with you on the sand. It rains too much in this country ever to keep dry even with a cover and the thought of cats is just nasty. I'd just use it for water.

May be sticking with the old washing-up bowl full of water for this year though.

Have bought the Crayola superwashable pens for DD and they are FAB and indeed superwashable.

simpson · 27/06/2009 20:59

Does anyone have an aquadraw??

We have the Thomas the Tank Engine one which is fab but Dcs fight over the pen.

It comes with roller type pen which they both hate and pen which they fight about all the time...

Do you know if you can buy pens on their own??

Re mortgage yes I know you guys are right

Think I am going to have to call them on Monday

on the school trouser front got the last 3 pairs of age 3 reserved at M&S near my mum's (3for2) so will measure J's inside leg before I go.

Luckily J not the type of child to slide on floor etc (yet) so hopefully he won't rip knees

Lilyloo · 27/06/2009 21:05

You can egt them from Tomy here
or ebay or ask on for free here , ahve seen them on before
