Well Done F - LOL to putting her fingers in it - typical!

How is K today SOL?? Hope she is bit more chipper!

Have an exciting day ahead - going to mini railway with DD2's old key worker from nursery and a friend who is coming down from Surrey for the day Then meeting up with more people for fish 'n' chips on the beach Shame DH is being such a complete arse atm .... sigh ....

Bramshott · 08/06/2009 16:51

Hello all. Having quite an efficient day here so am feeling pleased with myself !

Mind you, am trying hard not to be irritated by someone I am working for who totally fails to understand the way my life works. I am going to meet her tomorrow for lunch and a chat, and she blithely says "oh yes, come about 12, and then we can have lunch and a really relaxed afternoon", meanwhile I am thinking that it's 3 hours travelling and I'm going to have to leave by 4.00 at the latest in order to put the girls to bed. I KNOW I'm being overly-sensitive, and there is no reason that she should understand, but feel like pointing out that there is no such thing as a relaxed afternoon in my life as EVERYTHING I do has a defined end time around picking the kids up!!!

oooggs · 08/06/2009 20:00

come on bramshott - all my afternoons are relaxed

Right I am not pregnant [thank goodness]
I am tired (yet struggling to sleep), angry (and taking it out on ds1), worried (about work and childcare) and feeling like I need to get my life back on track

After Rainbows tonight I am thinking of quitting at the end of term. Who benefits from me going? As far as I can work out, only ds1 (I know its a girl thing) and he will be in Beavers from January.

It an attatchment thing as I have been in guiding for such a long time (qualified for 16 years), I have done, Brownies, Rangers, Guides and now Rainbows, but I also feel that my priorities should be else where and that the children are suffering as they are either with me or farmed out and teatime/bedtime is a hellish rush.

Oh bloody hell - I am so uptight at the moment

Evening

Had a lovely weekend in Donegal. The wedding was great, good company, lovely scenery, nice food, raucous Irish dancing and some old friends we hadn't seen for ages.

I missed G a ridiculous amount. Never want to leave one child behind again. Realistically it wouldn't have worked bringing him along. Flight cancelled on Friday so at airport for over 5 hours. Also the photos after the service took hours so we didn't sit down to eat until almost 7pm which is G's bedtime so I would have missed food, speeches, dancing etc if he'd been there. He had a fantastic time with grandma and grandpa - went to a farm on Friday and a museum and aquarium on Saturday; don't think he even noticed we were away

Early night tonight. Will try and catch up tomorrow.

leakyR · 08/06/2009 21:42

G has just woken up asking for milk. Dh brought him downstairs to fill his cup and he came and sat on my knee with Iris and asked for "Iris milk"

Nearly 7 weeks of bfing before he's renewed interest in my boobs.

Poor thing - I told him quite firmly "you have milk from a cup now" but handed I over to dh and gave him a cuddle while he drank it.

Sexonlegs · 08/06/2009 21:49

Evening loves

Leaky, glad you had such a great time, Sounds as though G did too

Oooggs, hope you are ok; you sound very stressed. xx

Hi Bramshott, long time no see. Enjoy your leisurely afternoon

MJ, good to see you, and fab F and her weeing on the potty. Not so fab re sticking her fingers in it!!! Aren't dc lovely

SPB, bless T and his special potty noises!!

Dippy, sorry your dh is being an arse xx

Hope everyone else is ok.

K much better today; still has a rash on her tummy and back, but it is fading. She was back to eating like a horse as well by tea time So pleased she is better.

Right, off to bed soon as am shattered, even though we had an undisturbed night last night which was just lovely.

xx

StealthPolarBear · 09/06/2009 08:44

Bramshott - don't blame you, ikwym about people assuming you have loads of time, or that actually you don't need any time just to relax without being 'entertained'.

oooggs, I think a decision to quit would be a good one. It sounds as though you are splitting yourself into lots of pieces and something needs to give! You can always start again when L is older, can't you?
leaky, glad you are back with G and he had a good time while you were away.

SOL, glad K is better - hope it lasts!

I sent a message to two heavily pg friends, E&J yesterday lunchtime saying I was looking forward to hearing any news and wondered which of them would be first. J replied straight away saying it will be E - I've had BHs but nothing else and think it will be ages yet. E replied to say - meant to text you, had baby girl on Saturday Then got a text from J this morning at 6.10 saying she had her baby girl last night

Builders are putting doors and windows in

oooggs · 09/06/2009 09:45

congrats to your friends

StealthPolarBear · 09/06/2009 11:53

Just to add to the coincidence, J gave her baby the middle name of E, and E gave her baby as a middle name my name!
(If you can fllow that)

Hi ladies

Bramshott, people who don't have young children have no idea of the juggling act that goes on every single day do they! Hope the afternoon goes well for you x

Leaky, glad you had a fab time at the wedding and G enjoyed his time with his grandparents too.

Oooggs, will your guiding still be good if you take a break for a while, or does it mean a lot of re-training? Could you try it through the summer holidays when you don't need to go to Rainbows anyway, and see how things pan out?
It's hard to give up something you enjoy doing isn't it, or maybe the break would be nice as it is one less thing to have to juggle with!

SPB, lovely news about your friends

CD, hope you are ok. It is really tough going when things are not great with the other half. I know exactly what you mean so I hope things settle down quickly for you x

CaptainDippy · 09/06/2009 14:44

You guys are lovely I am a bit of an emotional wreck atm, no idea why - bit pathetic!

Congratulations to your friends SPB, two of my friends have had baby boys in the last week ..... Bertram and Casper (snigger) ... bless em!!

I need hugs .....

StealthPolarBear · 09/06/2009 14:49

hugs for Dippy! Sorry you are having a tough time Congratulations to your friends!

Sexonlegs · 09/06/2009 14:57

Oh Dippy Hugs from me too xx

SPB, lovely news re your friends.

Oooggs, how are you feeling today?

Hi MJ. Any more potty action??!!

I am knackered today- could just shut my eyes and sleep right now zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Off to collect B from school. x

MJreturns · 09/06/2009 18:57

{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}} for Dippy, hope you are feeling a little brighter this afternoon

SOL, nope, no more potty action. I think it was just a fluke tbh because she has since quite happily wet herself while sitting on the sofa and didn't appear to even notice! Luckily I have a leather sofa

runnyhabbit · 09/06/2009 19:54

MJ- lol at F and her potty escapades

SPB - great news about your friends

SOL - Glad K is on the mend

OOOGGS - Sometimes, as much we hate to admit it, something has to give. Could you possibly be a "relief" so that if they get stuck, they could call on you/cover holidays etc?

CD - I think me and you are in the same place atm Feel very unsettled in work and can't work out why. And feel constantly at edge at home So much going on here too. J has started SALT again, which seems to be going well, but it means I have to take 1/2 day, so then have to make the hours up. W has started Welsh playgroup (which he loves) This was so supposed to give me a few hours to catch on housework etc, but because I'm now using that time to work my hours back. AAAARRRGGGGHHH!!!
Plus the hell logistics of summer childcare for J. Mil doesn't seem to keen to help out (would prob prefer spending time with her latest grandchild, as thats the age she prefers them - and she actually said that)
Going round in circles, and dh really hasn't got a clue[pissed off emoticon]

runnyhabbit · 09/06/2009 19:56

sorry, that was a bit of whinge

On a positive note, I have signed up for Welsh lessons Start in September, 2 nights a week. Really looking forward to it. J tells me off for speaking Welsh at home (only snippets though) "Mummy, you can't say that because you're not Mrs Morris"

oooggs · 09/06/2009 20:00

I have discussed the guiding with dh and he suggested doing something later that I wasn't relied upon. Like Guides starts at 6.45pm, so if I went when dh was on dayshift I could go once I had got Erin & Luke to bed so could still be there by 7pm.

If that makes any sense - I have done it for so long and dh and I met through that line of stuff - reluctant to let go but know that something has to change.

hugs to dippy

sol - In myself I feel terrible, I have butterflies in my stomach, have had another email from childcare person - very non commitale - and have tried welfare today but no one got back to me.

To top it all ds1 has a school trip tomorrow and I am dreading it, I couldn't go (due to Luke) and I am worried about everything. What if?????? etc...

I can't be with each of them 24hours a day!

Doobydoo · 10/06/2009 08:39

I can see that people are feeling wibbly and PROMISE to catch up properly.Hugs to tose that like 'em and pats on backs to those that don't.Still no period. Can't afford preg test at the moment which bodes well if bringing a new life into the worldKeep thinking I have period pains but then nowt...maybe being unsure delays it?
Might ring doc later to see if I can get a test through them.
Hope you get through today ok Oooggs.Back later for proper catch up.xx

geordieminx · 10/06/2009 08:54

Dooby - how late are you?

Doobydoo · 10/06/2009 09:05

2 or 3 days I reckon...not very late.Just I had a feeling

cazboldy · 10/06/2009 09:18

Hiya GM hows things with you?

Dooby - I have a cheapy test lurking in the back of my cupboard you can have it if you want it? [email protected]

Oooggs - it's really hard sometimes isn't it...... no advice really except that I think I know if I can or can' fit something in usually, but often it's the heart ruling the head Sorry about the school trip - but he will be fine xx

Runny - learning welsh sounds great - is it very difficult?

Hi to everyone else

MJreturns · 10/06/2009 11:02

Oooggs, ds1 will be absolutely fine and he will probably have a fabulous time too! It is hard to let them go though, and allow someone else to take on the responsibility. Hope your stomach doesn't feel quite so full of butterflies today

MJreturns · 10/06/2009 11:07

Runny, hats off to you learning Welsh! It is something I have always wanted to do but never quite got there iykwim. I can speak some French and a bit of Spanish too, but virtually nothing of our native tongue!!

Dooby, hope you get your answer soon, I think the not knowing is the worst part. Take care x

Nothing much going on here today, having a day at home with F which is actually quite nice. I have made some soup already and am now tackling dinner for later as dh will be in charge. I have an appointment to get a coil fitted later and I really do feel quite apprehensive about it. Not entirely sure why, I just do.

oooggs · 10/06/2009 11:22

dooby - mail me oooggs @ hotmail . co . uk (without all the spaces!!!)

I have a spare test and will mail it to you for free of course
