Hi all
Quicky before I give Iris her late feed.
I ended up staying in Northumberland for a whole week as Dh's grandad died on May 22. The funeral was last Friday and dh had to miss it as he was doing something BIG in Zurich for work.
Stayed with ILs and in an odd way I think the kids helped them get through a stressful week of organising the funeral and grandad's house.
The service was the nicest Catholic funeral I have ever been to. Grandad had lived in the parish for 64 years and the priest obviously knew him so well and had genuine affection for him.So often funeral mass can seem so impersonal, but not this time.
On the silver lining front we spent a few days at ILs with the lovely Eva and SIL. George and Eva love each other and he was so sweet with her. She is a joy to be with, but is terribly frustrated at her physical limitations. She loves being held up to "walk" - like you do with tinies where you're supporting their weight and gets cross when she can't be upright. SIL must be so achey, Eva is the same size as G but has to be carried all the time.
G has been suffering badly with hayfever and Iris has been spotty with a viral rash from a sore throat and the usual bf spottiness at this age. She is stacking weight on but I feel knackered from evenings spent constantly bfeeding.
We're in Ireland from Friday-Sunday for a wedding so I haven't a hope of getting caught up until after then.
Hope you're all well and enjoying the weather. It's been too hot for me. i was relieved to see a return to grey skies this morning
