Hi everyone, have scanned thread quickly, hope everyone OK though?

well doen tot lakers / walkers / shufflers

Bas does have a few woreds now and will sing row row row your boat though I doubt anyone who didnt live with himwould recognise IYSWIM.His[articular thing though is food- will finger feed a bit but refusing most lumpy stuff now.Am having a big attack on that this week.

Bad moment on holiday when we lost ds3 who was sat behind a fruit machine stimming- we had security etc on the search- but otherwise a perfect holiday with feeding lambs , milking goats, glorious beaches animals and camp fires- bliss LOL!

EllieG · 01/06/2009 12:23

Sounds lovely peachy and quite .
Of holiday, not losing DS of course. Though wouldn't mind losing DSD occasionally after all the tweeny strops we had this weekend

Soph73 · 01/06/2009 13:53

Hi Peachy - sounds like you had a nice time.

Sam still hasn't quite got used to the finger food concept. He did have a fabulous time scrunching up a cheese and ham sandwich yesterday. I think some of the bread and cheese just made it into his mouth

Ellie - you must have the patience of a saint. I find it bad enough dealing with a stroppy 6 year old and he's mine. Don't think I could manage if he was someone elses - LOL

VictorianSqualor · 01/06/2009 19:42

PEachy, know exactly what you mean about singing but no-one else knowing. Alex sings 'I had a tuny turtle' he puts his hands together and says 'Bubble, bubble, bubble, pop' but it's not obvious, he also says 'oooossss' for juice, but someone else would probably think he is hissing

KnitterInTheNW · 01/06/2009 20:15

Well, we've had a lovely day! One of my best friends is on holiday in the Lake District this week, and George and I went up for the day. We went to the South Lakes Wild Animal Park. We set off at 9 with me thinking he'd nap on the way. Nope. We left for home just after 3pm and he still hadn't had a nap. Thought he'd sleep all the way home. Nope. 45 minutes, that's all! Then was in a really good mood until his normal bedtime. I don't understand how he kept going!

I forgot G's other word - 'on'. Pronounced 'onnnnn'. Socks onnnnnnnnnnn. Light onnnnnn. Shoes onnnnnn. Fab!

Evening all, inset day here so busy day spent at parks and having friends round for lunch. Loving the hot weather

LadyBee · 01/06/2009 21:41

Lovely to hear about all the talking tots , B does this odd 'rrrrr' sound, but a French or German 'r', like he's clearing his throat. He does it to mean 'animal'. He does when that cat walks past him and when the dog next door barks, he does it and points at a picture of a cow, then points to a horse, then a dog, then sheep and they all get the same sound. Except duck. That gets 'uck uck uck uck'.

Peachy · 02/06/2009 09:43

we get 'wach wack' for duck LOL, he adores rubber duckies.

Have small injured biy at home today, tore foot and spent 6 hours at A&E (only needed checking over but practice nurse was too busy doing holiday vaccinations- private work, then ).

So he has my walking stick and is enjoying the attention- I could have sent him in but he cant wear shoes with all the dressings and it's sports week so no real point, will take him over and buy him an ice cream soda later if the tumble drier engineer turns up early enough.

DH is in a GCSE English exam so a very odd day...

Soph73 · 02/06/2009 09:46

Morning all

Peachy - ow, poor thing, how did he do it?

Sam shouts "Oi you" and "hey" when he's being ignored ... at least that's what it sounds like

Soph73 · 02/06/2009 09:47

Oh and good luck to your hubby. May I be rude and ask why he's taking GCSE English?

Peachy · 02/06/2009 09:53

Soph they said that it would show evidence of recent study for the UCAS process but he got in anyway with a unconditional offer, but since he's done the work now he may as well finish it. He ahs pretty obvious dyslexia which he can get help with now but you couldn't in 1937 when he took his O-Levels (approx date anyway LOL ).

No iea how ds2 got the cut- he danced and his foot seemed to stick- I am thinking (and he suggested this) there was a problem with the flooring in the heat (it was 30 degrees in there), will mention to Secretary later

KnitterInTheNW · 02/06/2009 09:54

pmsl at 'oi you'!!!!!!

I am being super mummy this morning. George is napping and I've filled the paddling pool so that it warms up a bit for this afternoon, put a load of laundry on and swept & mopped kitchen and hall floors. Need a sit down now

When he wakes up we're going to pop to the trafford centre to get a couple of 6-18 month 0.5 tog sleeping bags. Probably with half the pushchair - we've discovered that if we leave the seat unit of the quinny in the car, the curved bit at the back between the wheels is the perfect height for G to hold onto and push. The handle extend quite far so easy for me to steer. And we put the shopping in the basket, and G can see where he's going. Of course it takes 10x longer to do anything, but he's happy at least!

Good luck to Peachy's DH for his exam.

Hello everyone. I've missed quite a bit recently - just been busy and hanging out outside. Had a lovely time for A's birthday, and she's nearly walking now. And becoming a troublesome toddler with a right temper.
I've had a quick read though - everyone seems OK, is that right?

Soph73 · 02/06/2009 10:33

LOL at your hubby sitting his exams in 1937 And definitely mention that to the Secretary. Makes me wince just thinking about it.

TSC - hey there, lovely to see you. I think most of us are ticking along as usual. No-one's heard from Scorpio for a while though. Does anyone know how she is?

Now now Knitter don't go putting us all to shame will you Can't even remember the last time I mopped our floors Every weekend DH and I threaten to do some cleaning but there's always nicer stuff to do, especially in this weather

Right off for a break see you in a mo

EllieG · 02/06/2009 12:46

Hey TSC! I was wondering where you were only yesterday to myself. Glad all OK and A is coming on nicely

knitter - can you come round organise my house please? Is a bombsite at the moment and I fear the situation is not going to improve...

Soph73 · 02/06/2009 12:51

Ellie - she can only come round yours if she can come round mine as well. Bombsite is too polite a word for our house

TheShipsCat · 02/06/2009 13:04

I decided a while ago the only thing for it was just to move out. But of course, never got round to it

TheShipsCat · 02/06/2009 13:05

And hi Ellie! How's the sleeping going?

KnitterInTheNW · 02/06/2009 13:52

I'd just like to point out that the kitchen and hall floors in this rented house are white tiles. Who thought that was a good colour?

OP posts:
Soph73 · 02/06/2009 14:07

Knitter - someone who obviously doesn't have children, pets or a husband

KnitterInTheNW · 02/06/2009 14:30

Have to say I clean it more often than I used to with our pale grey tiles, maybe it IS a good idea after all!

OP posts:
Soph73 · 02/06/2009 14:42

Sorry, but in my mind, anything that promotes cleaning or housework of any kind is never a good idea

EllieG · 02/06/2009 14:55

Not too bad TSC, she seems to be doing a bit more of it this last week, and is very cheery as a result. We've 2 sleep-through nights and 4 only waking 1/2 for water then back to sleep nights, so can't complain. But am sure will find something to moan about soon

KnitterInTheNW · 02/06/2009 15:05

It's only a good idea because I don't worry so much about giving G food back that he's dropped on the floor! And I'm pretty lenient about at the best of times, you can imagine what the floor was like pre-G!! (mmm nice.)
