Emmy is lovely. I really like that.

That's the bugger isn't it? You finally find a name you like and your DP doesn't like it!!

If we had a girl we would have could her Heather Marianne.

BR

SuperSoph73 · 26/06/2009 13:08

Afternoon. Are you ready then?

New hair here & Sam swimming

bunnyrabbit · 26/06/2009 13:21

Wow! Super smart and sexy!! And Sam looks truly edible!!

SuperSoph73 · 26/06/2009 13:28

BR - maybe that could be my new nickname Thank you.

bunnyrabbit · 26/06/2009 13:39

LOL nothing like a decent bit of alliteration!!

madameovary · 26/06/2009 16:06

Lovely pics Soph

EllieG · 28/06/2009 21:23

Hey all! It's all gone very quiet on our thread recently hasn't it? I am a bit rubbish but in my defence have had visitors over this week, so been Entertaining. Is exhausting and am sure have put on about 15 stone. Every meal is big or out somewhere! Am going to die or burst like one of those Roman orgy people.

Fab hair Soph and my future SIL is looking super-cute too

PM - glad DS's implant thing went well - when is switch on?

Scorps - glad all good with you lady x

Hello everyone else

bunnyrabbit · 29/06/2009 08:29

Morning. Work sucks...

BR

EllieG · 29/06/2009 10:00

Too right it does

KnitterInTheNW · 29/06/2009 12:13

You know what? NOT working sucks too...

Well the skinter than a skint thing and having to live to a VERT tight budget does anyway.

Hello everyone!

SuperSoph73 · 29/06/2009 12:15

Afternoon. Thanks for saying nice things about my hair Work does suck, especially at the moment. There are no secondary students in as they've gone on a walk with DH & other staff. Quite fortunate really as Sam was awake all night. He's chesty again & has a cough Didn't help by the fact that I didn't go to bed until 3am Sunday morning as I went to a do in honour of the people who are leaving this year. However I did get 7 hours uninterrupted sleep as I stayed round a friends Still doesn't make me feel any less sh1t than I do though!!

Tomorrow I'm going to the water park with the whole of primary so I'm going to bed at 6.30 this evening LOL!

SuperSoph73 · 29/06/2009 12:16

Hi Knitter I sympathise, we are also skinter than skint and we both work!! Haven't been paid yet either

KnitterInTheNW · 29/06/2009 13:57

George finally grew out of his first shoes, and stupid Clarks only have 2 styles in size 3 1/2. Both hideous. Bought the slightly less hideous pair and we're going to the trafford centre this afternoon to see what John Lewis have, then I'll return the clarks ones. Also, all the stupid shoe shops only start making sandals at a size 4. They're massive on him and will prob only fit at the end of the summer when it's not hot and they only have boots in stock anyway! Hoping JL will have some other brands.

Plus, it's air conditioned in the trafford centre so much more pleasant!

Soph, you dirty stop-out! I was looking at some photos that a friend has put on FB, from a 30th bday party she went to. It made me feel tired just looking at the pics! water park sounds fun, but exhausting.

OP posts:
SuperSoph73 · 29/06/2009 14:05

Knitter - wow, new shoes already! Haven't bothered getting Sam any (mainly because he can't walk yet, LOL) as I tried to put a pair on him that someone gave us and he just screwed his toes up and refused to co-operate. They were only for decoration though & to keep his socks on

I do have fun at the water park it's just that I can barely muster up the strength to get off my chair, let alone tumble round a kiddie pool with a 100 primary school children ..... bloody hell, I must be stark staring mad!!

KnitterInTheNW · 29/06/2009 14:15

He's had his pre-walkers since the beginning of April, so I think we've had our moneys worth out of them! (Well not really because of how expensive they are, but at least they lasted more than 3 weeks!) G started 'properly' walking on monday, and there's no stopping him now. It's so cute!
G used to do the toe scrunching thing, I was most unimpressed as I got him some baby converse at a car boot sale and could never get them on him!

Have you got a bottle of wine in for tomorrow night? Sounds like you might need it!

bunnyrabbit · 29/06/2009 14:27

My friends have the same probs re sandals. Their little ones are 3.5 too.

Luckily DS2 is no where near like walking and his first shoes will probably be a size 6 'cos his feet ARE HUGE

Very jealous re waterpark. I've not been out of our air-conditioned office all day and am not looking forward to getting on a very not air-conditioned train tonight

BR

SuperSoph73 · 29/06/2009 14:41

Knitter - no, I haven't, must put wine on my shopping list

BR - I used to commute (never again!) so will think of you at home time. Actually I probably won't be tumbling round with the littlies as the Head of Infants has said that parents can take their children to the bigger slides if they want to go on them. DS1 will definitely want to go on the bigger slides Must remember to do DS1 a packed lunch tonight as the ones the school provide are horrid. Either that or I'll be buying him sausage and chips from the restaurant there

bunnyrabbit · 29/06/2009 14:50

OOOhhh buy him sausage and chips. He'll love you forever and you can pinch some help if he can't finish!!

PeachyTheRiverParrettHarlot · 29/06/2009 19:39

Knitter can't you get Clarks Doodles yet? Bas went straight into them and is on his second pair now

Gld all well PM and Scorps. Not envying you in this heat, mind!.

Wre're not good at name fiding;tends to go to one we both agree on and that's it really. Sam was nicked of f a colleagues daughter with my maiden name as middle (Godfrey), Stirling was a joke about naming him dollar / pound /sterling becuase babies are so expensive and then DH remembered he wanted to name a baby after Stirling Moss so I just gave in as longa s I could have Max for a middle..... Harry is Harold for my FIL and my Grandad with griffiths Mum's maiden name and for me Jarvic becuase of Mr Cikkewr LOL.... and Sebastian I knew from the meoment I ahd Harry that Sebastian was yet to come (odd I know).

So no real pattern though each child has had a changed-our-mnds name except Bas also

KnitterInTheNW · 29/06/2009 22:03

Hi Peachy, no, doodles also start at a size 4!

The lady in John Lewis re-measured his feet and he's actually still size 3. Managed to get some sandals from baby gap of all places! They only had 1 pair left and they're the right size, AND just reduced to £7.99. Fab! Clarks ones we bought earlier are going back.

Hello everyone!

Have only read last page or so as internet a bit slow, but just wanted to pop in quickly to say hi.

We're in Cusco as the moment, having returned from the jungle this morning. It was SOOOO amazing, I want to go live there and plant bananas and papayas for breakfast... Who, unrealistic, me???

Travelling with Rooelof so far has been brilliant. It seems the "scruffier" the places we go, the more baby friendly people are! I don't think that many people travel Peru with babies, as he's a huge huge hit and it spoilt rotten wherever we go. Dinners are also so easy, as so far we haven't found a place where the waitresses haven't asked to carry him around a bit, hehe. He also didn't seem to suffer from jetlag or affected by altitude, so that helped loads.

In Cusco now, where we'll stay for 2 nights. Still deciding where after this - either Arequipa (deepest canyon in the world, apparently), Lake Titicaca or somewhere up north which name I can't remember now.

Have to go, will try and pop in again in a couple of days, and will catch up properly with all the news when we're home.

xxx

Denny185 · 29/06/2009 22:14

Bargin knitter, thats just what we like to hear.

Glad everyone and LO's (including those still cooking) all doing well.

Mum just had kids for a long weekend whilst we went over to Dublin for our anniversary. Was v odd having 3 mornings of just mooching about in bed and not being woken to do the round of breakfasts. Did lots of sightseeing and eating/drinking. Cant believe how expensive it is out there though.

First day there DH presented me with a new eternity ring (kind of a long story but had my other rings cut off a couple of weeks ago) which was a lovely surprise.

bunnyrabbit · 30/06/2009 09:06

Aww Denny that sounds blissful.

SAL glad all is going well. Sounds like you're having a blast, unlike us boiling in the heat and no one in this country able to cope.

KTN, size 3? Oh bless what cute little tootsies. 7.99 is indeed a steal. Shame you couldn't buy the next size up too.

Soph, hope you're having a splashy time. Very .

BR

SalLikesCoffee · 30/06/2009 12:53

Hi bunnyrabbit. It's the weird thing about the UK, isn't it? You hope for warm weather for ages, but then it all gets a bit much as nothing's really set up to deal with it. Understandably, I guess, but I can never quite persuade myself of that when you're sat on the tube feeling filthy and smelly!

Just before 7 here, and dh and R having a bath whilst I lie in bed. Bliss.

Will prob get ready for breakfast in a minute so that we've got a full day ahead. The funny thing about this holiday is that dh and I have started going to bed by 9! It's kind of funny, as we go to bed at 12-ish back home, but with the whole time difference thing and not wanting to make a lot of noise whilst R is sleeping, we've just changed to fit him. Might try and keep it (or loosely anyway)in place when back in London - makes for a lot easier waking up in the morning of course.

Where is everyone? We're still in Cusco until tomorrow morning, with free wifi in the room, so beats watching cnn.

bunnyrabbit · 30/06/2009 13:42

I know. Some of my trains have Air-con but most don't. It's disgusting!

Very sensible to go to bed early. We did something similar when we went to Disney a few years ago. Actually ended up getting lots of sleep and drinking a lot less than we do at home and being far more tolerant of DS1 bouncing around in the morning

You realise, of course, that you are not going to want to come home!!!!
