Morning ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL. You'd think with DH having been at home for a full month that I'd have had time for MN. Actually no, if any of you have ever had a DH at home for a full month you'd know exactly why I haven't had time. Get your mind out of the gutter Gin, it's not that.

Thought I'd start a new thread since MKG's lovely girl arrived such a long time ago!

April, am very sorry about your friend. How sad.

Have only had a skim through I'm afraid, but Scoot; you obviously have the patience of a saint dealing with all those tantrums, so I think you'd make a great driving instructor. Is it really what you want to do or are you trying to think of jobs to fit in with family life? Is it a reaction to the current job do you think?

Congratulations on the wedding plans SKY.

Belated birthday greetings to everyone I've missed and happy birthday in advance to all the rest. Seriously, if I go off to find the birthday thread it might be weeks before I get back!

LG&T, is there any way you can channel B's energy into activity? A gets quite naughty when she's bored or hasn't been "out". "Out" can just mean the garden and "out" means she doesn't sound so loud to me, thus killing two birds with one stone. I'm wondering if you being (understandably) afraid to leave the house with him is actually making things worse? Something like a trampoline in the garden could be great because all the bouncing up and down would use up tons of energy and wear him out, whilst also being "fun" for him and "quiet" for you.
Also, re B's nappy rash. Remember A had a hideous rash that needed anti-biotics etc? Well it went away and then was back a couple of weeks later. I thought it couldn't possibly be teeth again as she seems to have all her teeth. Took her off milk and hey presto, the rash was gone in 18 hours. Plus her soft, foul-smelling poos have turned into normal firm not-awful smelling poos. She's fine with butter or the occasional bit of cheese, but any more lactose sets her off. I wonder could B have a similar problem? A's excema also got worse on milk and is now clearing up. I think it's probably temporary, she had a similar problem last year, but for now she's on rice milk or the Lactofree products when I can get hold of them.

I was at the doctor on Weds to get my Mirena removed and replaced with a copper coil to see if my libido would come back. GP couldn't "find" the Mirena. I have to go for a scan to find it, then to a family planning clinic to have it removed if they do find it. She said it's probably just lost, rather than come out, but it's kind of put me off using coils altogether now.

DH still not redundant yet. It's been a month since he was put "at risk". He's seeing HR today and I suspect this will be the final meeting and they actually sack him. His manager admitted they were hiring new people for the desk, but not for "his role", which is just a load of crap. You can't make a position redundant on the basis you want to hire someone "more senior". That's just a staff upgrade. Hopefully they'll make a settlement offer today, otherwise he'll have to appeal and start sending solicitors letters. However, he's had loads of interviews, lots of callbacks and good feedback.

Deep breath lovey whack the telly on chuck a pizza at them all and go and sit down and have a gin cup of tea. Hope all goes well this arvo.

elkiedee · 29/07/2009 13:05

lgt, sure you'll be fine but don't mention allowing a sleepover on top of your own 7, that does sound like a sign of lunacy.

Megglevache · 29/07/2009 15:45

Agree Elkie.

largeginandtonic · 29/07/2009 15:48

While it was all going on blardy Waitrose called to tell me i have been shortlisted for the adverts on here...

Me and my brood appealing, HA!

Cod is pissing herself laughing at me.

Themasterandmargaritas · 29/07/2009 15:58

fame and fortune and the loony bin all await you.

Love the comment elkie.

Megglevache · 29/07/2009 16:12

LOL adverts? Adverts? What have I missed?

TheGreatScootini · 29/07/2009 19:37

WHAT ADVERTS?!OMG.You are going to be famous!

I have just done something quite absurd.I have just ordered a life size cardboard cut out of Edward Cullen from Twilight. Christ but im obsessed.DH will go mental when it arrives.

Our cm has now got swine flu.She told me at 9pm last night.I feel very sorry for her but surely she knew at a more reasonable hour..anyway since had all last week off ill I as did DH I cant be off work again so had to get up at dawn crack and drive to my lovely sisters in Kent and drop them and then go back to work.I am knackered
They are there overnight and I will go after work tomorrow to get them.Feel dreadful re leaving them as we have left them quite a bit lately and will do again in a few weeks as we have the wedding of a close friend to go to in Spain.

Obv is highly hypocritical of me to be guilty when leaving them one night so I can work and not when I swan off to festivals/night outs/foreign weddings but hey ho.

So what are we doing with our unexpected night off?Meal out?Drinks?Nope.Dh working late and I am cleaning the oven.Sad.

largeginandtonic · 29/07/2009 19:59

Oh lord no to famous, tis just web adverts. Am on the short list. Not sure i even want to do it.

Have court, weddings and ferrying children around this month already. The school holidays are supposed to be a chance to relax are they not?

Scoot put the oven cleaner down and open the wine. If you are free from the girls you may as well make the most of it.

I did tell the Psych about the sleepover, well dd1 did. She did look incredulous now you mention it. But why? DD 1 also told her about the MOTY thing > i died

FGS the B is begging me to fill his bottle with my wine box. I have told him "No" very firmly.

He can get his own ffs

AprilMeadow · 29/07/2009 19:59

OOh Scoot you certainly know how to live it up

AprilMeadow · 29/07/2009 20:09

Aww that is so cute of P - she must be so proud of you

Been to the shops today and am now knackered!! I managed to get all the bits i need for my hospital bag, all except the nursing bras which will wait for a few weeks.

Have treated self today to a manicure, pedicure and eyebrow shaping. Was lovely to just relax, next week its facial time and i really cant wait

Have dh's G/Dad coming to stay the night tomorrow and am farming them off out for a curry so that i can veg and watch tv. Am thinking it will have to be a bedtime viewing as i am getting really sore hips when i lie/sit on the sofa.

Will be completing the packing of the hossie bag tomorrow all ready for our trip to Snetterton. SOH i should receive the passes tomorrow and will get them sent special delivery to you along with a schedule for Sunday. Please guard them with your life as they are worth £500 each at this stage of the season. Am sure you have my mobile number but will pop that in as well so you can just message when you get there and i can come find you.

Have J's graduation ceremony from pre-school tomorrow afternoon which i'm sure will be an emotional event. He doesnt have his last session until October as they have agreed to keep him on for a few sessions until he goes f/t at school just before half term. It is sad to see his room thinning out though as his friends are starting to leave now (mainly those with older siblings).

JamInMyWellies · 29/07/2009 20:33

Scoot too funny you could glue him to your bedroom ceiling and then when ahem in the act you can imagine its him.

AM glad to hear you are slowing down.

LG&T love that the children are so proud of you adn so they should be.

Big news after walking round half the morning with a bloody plastic bus stuck to his head Archie has finally done a pee on the potty. Cue much hand clapping and rejoycing by DP and I and giving out of chocolate buttons he of course did it wandered off and basically stuck 2 fingers up at us.

elkiedee · 30/07/2009 00:45

Wow at advertising LG&T

DjangoTheDjinn · 30/07/2009 20:03

Oi Tonic. Just seen the footage of your MOTY presentation. If you'd tried harder you could have looked more frightened or said fewer words. You looked beautiful. Frightened but beautiful.

Did anybody take any decent pics of TMAM's shoes the meet?

DjangoTheDjinn · 30/07/2009 20:07

Just read back a bit. Scoot my lord woman- are you pregnant/hormonal/both? A lifesize cut out of what I believe to be a teenager? Have I misunderstood? To be utterly honest, if they made a lifesize cut out of my current crush I'd have ten of them and arrange them in a semi circle around me and pretend I was their goddess but I shouldn't share that with you should I?

AM, just read about the passes. Alright if I pop them on ebay? Blardy hell, don't waste passes on us if they're that pricey. Will have to nip home and get them (the neighbours will sign for them) as am at my parents'. Very excited about the cars. Well, I'm excited about seeing you. DH is excited about the cars.

AprilMeadow · 30/07/2009 20:36

SOH, received the tickets today, and they are just paper tickets not the actual passes - only valid for this round so about £25 each We get them as part of our sponsorship.
Was too late to post them by the time i got them, so will have to meet you at the gate when you arrive at the circuit. Will forward (via fb email) the schedule and my number.

Have managed to pack my hospital bag, iron 3 baskets of clothes and saw J's graduation (very cute)

Now for a nice relaxing evening on the sofa

largeginandtonic · 30/07/2009 20:40

It was terrifying, dh was in his element though

Tills i have some Seraphine maternity jeans, size 3 in short. Interested?

on the cars tomorrow. Loo out for springs.

MrsJB did the kids miss you? It was very cool to have you there on Sunday. You can't fool me y'know Your hair always looks fab,o'm having mine done next week. What shall i do with it?

Tillyscoutsmum · 30/07/2009 20:40

Oooh - where can we see MOTY footage ? Is it public ?

Am very jealous of talk of New York. How fab

Had 20 week scan today - all was well and it is a BOY

DjangoTheDjinn · 30/07/2009 20:46

Oh lovely, a little baby boy. Do you have any name ideas? I know you can't have Atticus but I'm expecting big things from you!

Won't link the MOTY footage as LG&T may be cross and she has too much dirt on me to risk it.

DjangoTheDjinn · 30/07/2009 20:47

AM, meeting at the gate sounds like a good idea!

AprilMeadow · 30/07/2009 21:02

Congrats Tilly on your little boy

JamInMyWellies · 30/07/2009 21:04

Super exciting Tills. I love the name Atticus To kill a Mockingbird is my favourite book.

DjangoTheDjinn · 30/07/2009 21:05

C'mon, photos of the meet? Who has them?

JamInMyWellies · 30/07/2009 21:06

I have a couple of photos of the meet will put them on FB when DP deletes stuff off the laptop so I can download them.

Tillyscoutsmum · 30/07/2009 21:11

We do love Atticus (and Jem) but we did say it would look like we'd only ever read one book (which in DH's case isn't far off the truth - at least only one that doesn't involve cycling )

Would love to see photos of the meet.....

LG&T - thanks for thinking of me but I'm not sure the short will fit (I'm 5' 7" ?). Shame though - I love Seraphine stuff

largeginandtonic · 30/07/2009 21:11

Link and i spill SOH...

Tilly!!! A BOY Oh how bloody marvellous. Little boys are so gorgeous

Yes big name Tills, love Atticus. Go on do it. Want the jeans?
