Morning ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL. You'd think with DH having been at home for a full month that I'd have had time for MN. Actually no, if any of you have ever had a DH at home for a full month you'd know exactly why I haven't had time. Get your mind out of the gutter Gin, it's not that.

Thought I'd start a new thread since MKG's lovely girl arrived such a long time ago!

April, am very sorry about your friend. How sad.

Have only had a skim through I'm afraid, but Scoot; you obviously have the patience of a saint dealing with all those tantrums, so I think you'd make a great driving instructor. Is it really what you want to do or are you trying to think of jobs to fit in with family life? Is it a reaction to the current job do you think?

Congratulations on the wedding plans SKY.

Belated birthday greetings to everyone I've missed and happy birthday in advance to all the rest. Seriously, if I go off to find the birthday thread it might be weeks before I get back!

LG&T, is there any way you can channel B's energy into activity? A gets quite naughty when she's bored or hasn't been "out". "Out" can just mean the garden and "out" means she doesn't sound so loud to me, thus killing two birds with one stone. I'm wondering if you being (understandably) afraid to leave the house with him is actually making things worse? Something like a trampoline in the garden could be great because all the bouncing up and down would use up tons of energy and wear him out, whilst also being "fun" for him and "quiet" for you.
Also, re B's nappy rash. Remember A had a hideous rash that needed anti-biotics etc? Well it went away and then was back a couple of weeks later. I thought it couldn't possibly be teeth again as she seems to have all her teeth. Took her off milk and hey presto, the rash was gone in 18 hours. Plus her soft, foul-smelling poos have turned into normal firm not-awful smelling poos. She's fine with butter or the occasional bit of cheese, but any more lactose sets her off. I wonder could B have a similar problem? A's excema also got worse on milk and is now clearing up. I think it's probably temporary, she had a similar problem last year, but for now she's on rice milk or the Lactofree products when I can get hold of them.

I was at the doctor on Weds to get my Mirena removed and replaced with a copper coil to see if my libido would come back. GP couldn't "find" the Mirena. I have to go for a scan to find it, then to a family planning clinic to have it removed if they do find it. She said it's probably just lost, rather than come out, but it's kind of put me off using coils altogether now.

DH still not redundant yet. It's been a month since he was put "at risk". He's seeing HR today and I suspect this will be the final meeting and they actually sack him. His manager admitted they were hiring new people for the desk, but not for "his role", which is just a load of crap. You can't make a position redundant on the basis you want to hire someone "more senior". That's just a staff upgrade. Hopefully they'll make a settlement offer today, otherwise he'll have to appeal and start sending solicitors letters. However, he's had loads of interviews, lots of callbacks and good feedback.

JamInMyWellies · 21/07/2009 15:56

oh PJ I am obsessed with sunscreen and literally pour it all over A.

Pinkjenny · 21/07/2009 15:57

Jam - you are neither. You are fabulous. I will be working my enormous norkage on Sunday as I have no choice and have already written a list of what I need to bring

Dh is not coming with me, as AM's dh will not be around, so he would be pretty much on his own with AM and I, apart from on Sunday. As wonderful as we are, I think the prospect of a weekend alone is swinging the balance for him. And who can blame him? At least now, A and I can break up the journey with lots of overpriced coffee. For me, obviously, not A.

charleymouse · 21/07/2009 16:30

SUNDAY 26th JULY 12pm ONWARDS
BBQ

APRILMEADOW - 2 DC No DH
PINK - 1 DC No DH
TMAM - 3 DC No DH
LG&T - 7 DC No DH
CASTIEL SOH SERIALNAMECHANGER
EDM 1 DC + DH
SKYTV 3DC + DP
JAM - 2DC No DP
CHARLEYMOUSE - 2DC + DH?

Is that all of us present and correct?

Yes I can confirm PJ is deffo not a teenage boy (not with those norks) and AM is deffo not a hairy biker (very ladylike) JAM is neither too old nor too fat for skinny jeans and MJB does not have a slipper fetish (I think)

AprilMeadow · 21/07/2009 16:36

The kids are trained to get their own water from the fridge dispenser thingy... know how to work the spray on/no rubbing in needed sun cream etc etc

Sounds about right Charley

MrsJB is it really that hot with you...... am so that i'm not sitting next to your pool right now although probably a good thing as the house looks like its been turned over and i really have no idea where to start. Have been procrastinating all day.

Pinkjenny · 21/07/2009 16:46

Am so excited.

Scoot is fine, people. She is mucho busy as usual. I am going to stay with her the last weekend in August.

My, it's a veritable meet-up feast!!!!!!!!

ExpositionDesMains · 21/07/2009 18:15

Why does nobody come to see me? Yah boo feckin' sucks to you all.

Charley, that's about 3% of my recent namechanges. I have a short attention span and like to be incognito.

PJ, meant to say earlier, my mobile does not work on account of I didn't pay the bill. So not ignoring you and got your message about baby being fine and did happy dances all round the kitchen.

I'm hat/suncream/water mad too but have a good excuse. I have a stupid deficiency that means I burn in the winter if I'm not wearing factor 50. I get terribly neurotic.

Okay, so... what am I supposed to wear on Sunday? I'm a biffer despite all the running.

Jam, skinny jeans are not an item of clothing, they're a travesty. Only good for cutting up and using as dusters.

Charley, if you press your red button on BBC1 you can watch all of the TDF live. DH discovered this the other day... And in terms of titsnet, well I'll try and whip out my boobs regulary. Might even breastfeed with them at some point.

Right, must cook dinner...

AprilMeadow · 21/07/2009 18:21

Oi whatever your name is TAFKASOH I am heading your way 31st July for the weekend. At Snetterton for the races. Have a motorhome on site so if you fancy popping down would be lovely to see you xx

ExpositionDesMains · 21/07/2009 18:31

AM, keep meaning to mention that weekend to you. Friend is getting married on the Sat so busy but what about the Sun? Will you still be here? Snetterton's not too far and dh is off work so would love to meet up and feel fat next to the Inappropriately Dressed Brolly Dollies.

DjangoTheDjinn · 21/07/2009 18:35

Okay, checked my namechange history and have 47 names. That's not many is it?

AprilMeadow · 21/07/2009 18:37

Yup will be there! Sunday is the race day so you are more than welcome to come along. Can get you passes into the circuit if you like.

DjangoTheDjinn · 21/07/2009 18:44

Oh yes, I will fit right in. I know a lot about cars actually. Mostly they have 4 wheels and are powered by little supernatural beings that feed on cake and live under the bonnet. The top speed of the average car is the square root of the bust size of the Inappropriately Dressed Brolly Dolly.

Or yes please, thank you, I would love to come.

AprilMeadow · 21/07/2009 18:48

Ahhh fabulous!! Will put you on my guest list - just need to text me when you arrive and i will meet you at the gate

largeginandtonic · 21/07/2009 19:23

I am very excited, so are the children. Beau is bringing a case in case he doesn't want to leave

CM i am neither hairy trucker nor paedo. I can't be that bad if SOH (or whatever her frickin name is) has stayed with me.

On that point, SOH you ARE most definately staying with me. Honestly. Will you be doing your usual late night arrival or is M better in the car now so you don't have to travel under cover of darkness (makes her sound like a vampire!)

It is dd1's birthday Monday you can join in the chaos fun

I have a wedding reception to go to on Friday night, am fat and have nowt to wear Good lord the last baby has taken it's toll on my body could be all the cake i suppose.

Am off to the Next website to look at tents

AbbyLou · 21/07/2009 19:23

I want to come.

Themasterandmargaritas · 21/07/2009 20:29

Awwww Abby, I wish you could come, and Tills and Elkie and Scoot.

You with the black book, bring him along, I don't care what he does for a living, just being 28 is good enough for me

Gin Woman, you honestly would look good in a bin bag. I went shopping today, Monsoon have some amazing bargains.......

April you are always so good at these things, what speakers do you recommend for your iphone? Ideally they should work with a Nano too. I can't work out on Amazon what is what.

AprilMeadow · 21/07/2009 20:32

ummmm i will ask dh as he is the font of knowledge when it comes to technical......

AprilMeadow · 21/07/2009 21:03

Dh says you want a docking station. We have a BOSE one that takes the iPhone and the Nano. When you put the iPhone on the dock it turns the phone part off. So basically turns it into just an iPod.... does that help?

AprilMeadow · 22/07/2009 13:19

Yay have built the cot - just need a baby now

MmeJaffaB · 22/07/2009 16:20

Not yet, you have an important weekend to host first

AprilMeadow · 22/07/2009 16:21

ah yes and a weekend away the week after.... so anytime from the 4th August is ok with me

SKYTVADDICT · 22/07/2009 16:34

Lewis will be 1 on 4 August - they could share a birthday x

TheGreatScootini · 23/07/2009 08:52

Morning all

Im back!!Sorry have been gone so long.I first got waylaid by a questionable Twilight obsession which saw me reading all four books in 8 days , watching the film about a dozen times and almost divorcing DH on the grounds that he IS NOT a 17 year old vampire.Im nearly over that now, you'll be glad to know.

Then got busy at work, with unannounced inspections and other such fun. Then have been away at T in the Park and one day at Latitude. (Had an amazing time!Til DH lost the car keys at T, which was a nightmare, but so worth it to see the awesome Killers all from atop a friends shoulders-am still in love with Flowers).

Back to normal life, for all of 5 minutes, until Lily has been diagnosed with swine flu (of course). So now we are in quarantine.Poor old Lils is boiling hot and currently covered in cool flannels.Mae on the other hand is totaly unaffected as yet and is running around like a lunatic.

So thats me in a nutshell.Hows everyone?

TheGreatScootini · 23/07/2009 08:57

I dont suppose I am welcome at the meet up in case of swine flu.Harumph.

DjangoTheDjinn · 23/07/2009 09:00

Come to the meet Scootini. We've had it so can afford to be blase about it...
