Morning ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL. You'd think with DH having been at home for a full month that I'd have had time for MN. Actually no, if any of you have ever had a DH at home for a full month you'd know exactly why I haven't had time. Get your mind out of the gutter Gin, it's not that.

Thought I'd start a new thread since MKG's lovely girl arrived such a long time ago!

April, am very sorry about your friend. How sad.

Have only had a skim through I'm afraid, but Scoot; you obviously have the patience of a saint dealing with all those tantrums, so I think you'd make a great driving instructor. Is it really what you want to do or are you trying to think of jobs to fit in with family life? Is it a reaction to the current job do you think?

Congratulations on the wedding plans SKY.

Belated birthday greetings to everyone I've missed and happy birthday in advance to all the rest. Seriously, if I go off to find the birthday thread it might be weeks before I get back!

LG&T, is there any way you can channel B's energy into activity? A gets quite naughty when she's bored or hasn't been "out". "Out" can just mean the garden and "out" means she doesn't sound so loud to me, thus killing two birds with one stone. I'm wondering if you being (understandably) afraid to leave the house with him is actually making things worse? Something like a trampoline in the garden could be great because all the bouncing up and down would use up tons of energy and wear him out, whilst also being "fun" for him and "quiet" for you.
Also, re B's nappy rash. Remember A had a hideous rash that needed anti-biotics etc? Well it went away and then was back a couple of weeks later. I thought it couldn't possibly be teeth again as she seems to have all her teeth. Took her off milk and hey presto, the rash was gone in 18 hours. Plus her soft, foul-smelling poos have turned into normal firm not-awful smelling poos. She's fine with butter or the occasional bit of cheese, but any more lactose sets her off. I wonder could B have a similar problem? A's excema also got worse on milk and is now clearing up. I think it's probably temporary, she had a similar problem last year, but for now she's on rice milk or the Lactofree products when I can get hold of them.

I was at the doctor on Weds to get my Mirena removed and replaced with a copper coil to see if my libido would come back. GP couldn't "find" the Mirena. I have to go for a scan to find it, then to a family planning clinic to have it removed if they do find it. She said it's probably just lost, rather than come out, but it's kind of put me off using coils altogether now.

DH still not redundant yet. It's been a month since he was put "at risk". He's seeing HR today and I suspect this will be the final meeting and they actually sack him. His manager admitted they were hiring new people for the desk, but not for "his role", which is just a load of crap. You can't make a position redundant on the basis you want to hire someone "more senior". That's just a staff upgrade. Hopefully they'll make a settlement offer today, otherwise he'll have to appeal and start sending solicitors letters. However, he's had loads of interviews, lots of callbacks and good feedback.

Wow your 20wk scan already Cant wait to see the pics next weekend Charley. How is G getting on without M/milk? Probably harder for you than for him.

MW called me yesterday and said that if i wanted to pop in to be checked out then she could fit me in at the end of her clinic. So after sitting in the waiting room at the Dr's for an hour i finally went in. BP is the highest its been so far (only normal i guess given i'm 31+wks) but still only 116/79 so quite low. No sign of a UTI - she thought it might be that as the BH's are so strong. Baby has had a BIG growth spurt and I have gone from measuring 27cm at 28wks to 32cm at 31 wks, so thats 5cm in 3wks . she is also now in a breech position with her bottom down and head under my boobs. Although she is very low down - apparently normal for being on my 3rd.... She also said that because i have a slim build and havent gained too much weight that all the movements will feel more painful as there isnt any padding. Oh yes and due to my uterus now being fairly 'lax' (her words) bh's will be more painful.

So all in all everything is ok for now but got the 'take it easy' chat from her. Have another appt at the beginning of August, will be interesting to see what the bump is looking like, size-wise, then!

Had J's new teachers come for a home visit yesterday which was nice, they seem very lovely and J likes them. He had made them a picture at nursery They gave him a bookstart box of goodies and he spent the 20mins that they were here sharpening the pencils that he had been given!!

JAM, how was last night?
LG&T are you getting any sleep? How did B get on with potty training yesterday?
MrsJB, how are you?
Hello and big waves to everyone else xx

charleymouse · 17/07/2009 10:38

Oh morning AM , sit down with a cup of tea please. Glad J liked his teachers, A has gone to nursery today in her school uniform as she was so excited last night after it had arrived and we had tried on what seemed like hundreds of bits and pieces. She wanted to show all her friends at nursery.

G was doing fine but this morning when he woke he was crying and wanted Mummy milk so he had some for breakfast. No mean mummys club badge for me then. Blame the hormones, boobs just went all tingly and I think I fed him almost for my beneift not his, he wouldn't be distracted though to be honest and I hate seeing him so upset. He has slept through all this week though and had had no MM since last Friday night at bedtime. Hopefully we have broken the bedtime routine though

Will see how tonight goes. Boobs will probably be overactive again now and I will feel crap. I know I shouldn't have confused him but tis hard. .

Hope you are all well, will let you know how I get on, scan isn't until this afternoon at 3:00pm.

JamInMyWellies · 17/07/2009 11:57

Crikey charley 20 wks tis flying by.

LG&T what a twat.

AM love slow down.

Well the sleeping through was a one off. Really bad night Wed then last night he woke a 1 but settled after 5 mins with dummy woke again at 4 and self settled. So its defo getting better.

MmeJaffaB · 17/07/2009 13:20

Enjoy the scan Charlie!

All good here thanks AM, not much to report! I remember vividly the painful movements and strong BH with J, I would often have to breath through them like real ones and the wrigles, OMG, I thought she was going to explode some evenings! all sounds quite "normal" especially with the "laxness". Not nice though, very tiring. J was breach at this point too, wasn't Ella? I remember there being 15 of us breach at 32 weeks or something like that.

lg&t..... I can't believe he didn't show, what a waster.... So sorry you have such a jockey to deal with.

How's the boob Jam?

Tillyscoutsmum · 17/07/2009 14:46

Good luck at the scan charley

I'm off on hols tomorrow - its forecast to be pissing down all week. Really looking forward to it I'm still gutted I'm missing the meet up. Hope everyone has a great time

AprilMeadow · 17/07/2009 14:58

That's exactly what i have been doing MrsJB - amazing how the breathing comes back to you Not worried about being breech to be honest as yes E was also breech although from earlier on. She was breech from 28wks and then turned 2 days before she was born. Bubs is moving all the time so am sure that she will change position hundreds of times before shes born.

Oooh Charley you will be at your scan now, how exciting!!!

AprilMeadow · 17/07/2009 14:59

Have a fab holiday Tilly, will eat a slice of cake on your behalf next weekend.

charleymouse · 17/07/2009 17:57

All okay, phew . To be honest now it is all done I realise how stressed/nervous I was but all is well. I know no guarantees etc but feel a bit more chilled now.

Thanks for all your good wishes.

Only bad thing was as I was on my way out bumped into a colleague who is 29 weeks in for a scan (inpatient) as her waters have gone. Reassured her that G was just fine @ 31 weeks so not to panic.

Will take a pic of scan photo and upload later.

Tilly I will also eat a piece of cake on your behalf. Have a good holiday.

largeginandtonic · 17/07/2009 18:38

Glad it was ok CM I think Verity is just fine in there

The twins were born at 29 weeks and we all know how well they are now. I will chat to her if she would like

Jam be consistent and it will be worth it, you know that though.

MrsJB [sob] at you not at the meet. You too Tills! Still a lovely holiday sounds good, rain or not...

AM i remember the painful movements, ouch. Pillows everwhere to help. I will bring my wedge with me next week along with all the baby stuff, awwwwwww.

AprilMeadow · 17/07/2009 18:44

Great news on the scan Charley! Do you have any thoughts on the sex? I know you werent going to find out but could you see anything that made you wonder?

It's not so much the movements at night - i sleep through them and dont even wake to pee! - its during the day, whenever i sit down or seem to be resting that she goes off on one!

Think i have 3 computers in the house that i could link up to webcam at the same time so we could get MrsJB and any of you other ladies who cant come on line all at the same time and you could feel like you were here!

MmeJaffaB · 17/07/2009 21:49

Glad the scan went well CM...

Sounds a great idea for web camming

elkiedee · 17/07/2009 22:16

Glad to hear the scan went well Charley.

Waving at everyone.

AprilMeadow · 18/07/2009 08:15

Now that would be a good gadget - passing food through the web!!

JamInMyWellies · 18/07/2009 08:27

Great news on the scan charley.

ExpositionDesMains · 18/07/2009 09:54

Alouette, gentille Alouette
Alouette je te plumerai...

la la la la la.

I'm here for meet-up info...

You're all looking very pregnant I must say.

SKYTVADDICT · 18/07/2009 09:55

Brilliant news on scan Charley. Looking forward to meeting you next week. DP is coming and he doesn't know anyone either so try and get your DH to come. Is he shy?

Jam - broken nights are taking their toll here too. DD1 asked DP last week why we were in such bad moods. He said it was because he was tired as was I and that we hadn't had a whole nights sleep in 3 years! L is getting a lot better but still hit and miss as to when and if he wakes up.

SKYTVADDICT · 18/07/2009 09:57

AM - I did say I was going to bring deserts but would potatoe salad, coleslaw and dips be better? All shop bought of course, although I could probably whip up a coleslaw and potatoe salad in the caravan on the saturday night !! (NOT!)

AprilMeadow · 18/07/2009 12:59

That would be perfect SKY thank you

twelveyeargap · 19/07/2009 00:54

do I look pregnant? Bugger. Note to self to eat less cake.

OP posts:
largeginandtonic · 19/07/2009 09:05

JamInMyWellies · 19/07/2009 09:10

SKYTVADDICT · 19/07/2009 10:00

Red wine and not enough sleep hangover here!

Themasterandmargaritas · 19/07/2009 19:35

Hooray Charley, that is great news, I can't believe you are halfway through already. Now are you going to the Africa office a full appraisal on Sunday? I am in need of an salary increase, not to mention a new office. No pressure mind, just be aware that I have been doing a sterling job.

Not much sleep in the last few nights here, especially after enduring package holiday flight at 3am in the morning, with lots of yoof wearing very little in the way of clothes. So now we are back in Somerset in the rain renting a cottage that is full of toys so the dc are very pleased with themselves.

Have a lovely holiday Till, such a shame we won't see you. Or Scoot. I've been waiting almost 3 years now to meet scoot....does she really exist or is she actually a hairy trucker in disguise?

How are the non sleeping babies?

Titter at you SOH, I loved to read your posts in the round up, especially cool is having two mentions under two different names. You were obviously on fire last week. Technically speaking however, I find your translation a little off the mark... J is so looking forward to squeezing the living daylights hugging his girlfriend on Sunday.

JamInMyWellies · 20/07/2009 08:31

Who's preg??

TMAM shame its raining but bet its lovely to be home.

Can't wait to see everyone on Sunday and meet a few of you for the first time. Just a warning I will be quite bonkers by the time I arrive. I reckon 2 1/2 hours with the cherubs round the M25 will be interesting. [hm]

Well Shmoka slept through Fri & Sat hurrah bloody good job he did on Sat neither of us were in a fit state to be shush patting in the middle of the night.

LG&T how have your nights been.

Hows everyone feeling PJ, Tilly Charley non vommy wkend?

ExpositionDesMains · 20/07/2009 09:49

Yes, translation is a little off but tried to make myself recognisable. Failed miserably I suspect.

Tills, come back. I want to talk to you about Cav and the unfair disqualification. DH is sulking. Can I just say, C'MON BRADLEY btw??

We did the heinous M25 on Saturday as SIL was playing in the Women's Nations Cup final. England vs USA. Thrashed 'em, 108-0 or something like that. Their new mascot was very happy indeed. Unfortunately got stuck in traffic on the M25 due to a massive accident and sat unmoving for hours. Didn't get home until the early hours. Now I'm sure that dh could have used his warrant card to use the hard shoulder on, er, "official police business".

TMAM, was less on fire last week, more suffering from swine flu. Damn talk round-up. Always in it under pseudonyms, rarely under my own name. Shouldn't change name quite so frequently.

M very excited about seeing her boyfriend. She will boss him about I'm afraid.

What shall I bring? What food is required?

LG&T, will be with you Sat. Will bring my netbook with me so I can get on with my, er, extracurricular activities. Maybe you can help me, eh?
