Morning ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL. You'd think with DH having been at home for a full month that I'd have had time for MN. Actually no, if any of you have ever had a DH at home for a full month you'd know exactly why I haven't had time. Get your mind out of the gutter Gin, it's not that.

Thought I'd start a new thread since MKG's lovely girl arrived such a long time ago!

April, am very sorry about your friend. How sad.

Have only had a skim through I'm afraid, but Scoot; you obviously have the patience of a saint dealing with all those tantrums, so I think you'd make a great driving instructor. Is it really what you want to do or are you trying to think of jobs to fit in with family life? Is it a reaction to the current job do you think?

Congratulations on the wedding plans SKY.

Belated birthday greetings to everyone I've missed and happy birthday in advance to all the rest. Seriously, if I go off to find the birthday thread it might be weeks before I get back!

LG&T, is there any way you can channel B's energy into activity? A gets quite naughty when she's bored or hasn't been "out". "Out" can just mean the garden and "out" means she doesn't sound so loud to me, thus killing two birds with one stone. I'm wondering if you being (understandably) afraid to leave the house with him is actually making things worse? Something like a trampoline in the garden could be great because all the bouncing up and down would use up tons of energy and wear him out, whilst also being "fun" for him and "quiet" for you.
Also, re B's nappy rash. Remember A had a hideous rash that needed anti-biotics etc? Well it went away and then was back a couple of weeks later. I thought it couldn't possibly be teeth again as she seems to have all her teeth. Took her off milk and hey presto, the rash was gone in 18 hours. Plus her soft, foul-smelling poos have turned into normal firm not-awful smelling poos. She's fine with butter or the occasional bit of cheese, but any more lactose sets her off. I wonder could B have a similar problem? A's excema also got worse on milk and is now clearing up. I think it's probably temporary, she had a similar problem last year, but for now she's on rice milk or the Lactofree products when I can get hold of them.

I was at the doctor on Weds to get my Mirena removed and replaced with a copper coil to see if my libido would come back. GP couldn't "find" the Mirena. I have to go for a scan to find it, then to a family planning clinic to have it removed if they do find it. She said it's probably just lost, rather than come out, but it's kind of put me off using coils altogether now.

DH still not redundant yet. It's been a month since he was put "at risk". He's seeing HR today and I suspect this will be the final meeting and they actually sack him. His manager admitted they were hiring new people for the desk, but not for "his role", which is just a load of crap. You can't make a position redundant on the basis you want to hire someone "more senior". That's just a staff upgrade. Hopefully they'll make a settlement offer today, otherwise he'll have to appeal and start sending solicitors letters. However, he's had loads of interviews, lots of callbacks and good feedback.

largeginandtonic · 13/07/2009 20:16

Noooooooo Oh ladies i am so sorry for you both

Fingers crossed we get to see each other again soon

Jam are you ok?

I am dead on my feet, too much driving and child party organising.

Indie and B had better sleep tonight, HA!

JamInMyWellies · 13/07/2009 20:25

Happy Birthday J.

Oh no thats such a shame AM maybe you need to put your feet up lovey.

Went to see the GP tonight and he has given me some AB's he very kindly told me that I had done my bit with BF and what benefits does it really have after 6mth Was a bit gobsmacked and just kind of sat there with my gob open. They bloody better work as shmoka is being a bit funny about feeding from that boob now.

LG&T good luck with B & I tonight poor old shmoka is not too impressed with our new night time routine of no feeding past 10.30 he is going back off to sleep after half an hour so hopefully it wont be too long before he stops waking in the night. Oh what was that a pig flying.

SKY I know bloody thunder bugs.

largeginandtonic · 14/07/2009 10:44

Sleep is a joke in this house.

BUT...

B has done several wees on the potty this morning!!! I am stunned, only last week he threw the potty at me when i suggested he sit on it before the bath.

So you never know.

AprilMeadow · 14/07/2009 14:09

Yay well done B for the wees!!!! Sorry that sleep is a foreign word in the Tonic household at the moment. I think we are slowly cracking J's sleeping - only taken 4yrs mind you!!

Hope the AB's work for you JAM. Have fingers crossed that L starts sleeping longer at night for you and at your dr on the BF'ing front!!

Spent last night having a fair few bh's that were very strong and lasted a good 10/15secs. Got totally paranoid that something was going to happen but thankfully nothing. Had a few more today but just the odd one here and there.

Had hair done this morning and was there for 3hrs!! Have booked the next appt for 6wks time so will hopefully be able to make that!

Starting to feel a lot more tired in the last week and have needed to have a little snooze on the sofa mid afternoon.

Will send an email round via FB mail regarding next weekend - keeps your eyes out

largeginandtonic · 14/07/2009 14:32

re meet up that is.

AM you will be in a permament is it/isn't it state till she actually has her head out. Tis infuriating. Rest my lovely

AprilMeadow · 14/07/2009 14:57

Mahoosive email sent with directions from the motorways etc. My estate is one big rabbit warren with 1000000000 roundabouts so have factored them all in.

It's weird because i wasnt at all paranoid as to when Ella was going to arrive, but i am on permanent panick with this one! Have built the changer dresser and put all the teeny weeny clothes in it, got the moses basket down and set up. Need to wash all the clothes and bedding though, but will wait until August to do that. Hospital bag is being filled with the things i need to take, but just thrown in at this stage so i can tick them off my list. Want to be 'ready' by mid August as dh is heading to Knockhill for the touring cars on the 14-16th. Have the cot but not building until the bed has been dismantled in that room, cant do it until beginning of August as we have house guests every weekend for the next few weekends

8wks and 6days to go (hopefully a little less though)

Themasterandmargaritas · 14/07/2009 16:45

Just checking in from the mother's pc , but it's lovely and hot and very windy. All the dc are being so good. J even did a pee in the toilet upon arrival .

Happy Birthday to J

Oh April so sorry to hear that from the doc . However you must take it easy.

Jam, I hope you are feeling better.

JamInMyWellies · 14/07/2009 20:51

Thanks for the mail AM.

Mastitis clearing up thank god.

largeginandtonic · 14/07/2009 21:01

Great email AM. I am so excited (have i said that already)

I am bringing dd1's birthday cake, a huge chocolate sparkly affair. She will be 9 AM! I can't believe it.

Jam i am very glad it is improving, you need to rest too.

TMAM mothers indeed Just think only a couple of weeks and we get to hug each other

Beau has had several wees on the potty and several in his pants I farcking HATE potty training...

JamInMyWellies · 14/07/2009 21:13

Well done potty training people I am not doing it until A whips his nappy off and says I am off to the toilet mum.

largeginandtonic · 14/07/2009 21:25

I am not doing it either Jam, it's only because he brought the potty and pants to me this morning, whipped his nappy off and proceeded to pee on the potty that i have conceded defeat.

I reserve the right to throw the towel at him in the towel tomorrow if he gives up.

AprilMeadow · 14/07/2009 23:17

Got my little brain working as i had to remember how many turnings, roads and roundabouts were involved depending on which way people are coming...

Glad to hear that the Mastitis is clearing up for you JAM.

Cant believe that i will have to do this potty training lark again in a few years!! Ella just decided to do it and whilst we didnt crack it as fast as the Jaffa's we are doing ok. E still has the odd accident, mainly at nursery but i think thats because she gets distracted easily.

JamInMyWellies · 15/07/2009 08:08

Bloody Nora the shmoka slept through!!!!!!!!!!

MmeJaffaB · 15/07/2009 10:47

Well done Shmoka.....

Whats the matter with you all? Potty training is the easiest part of parenthood, it's all about being consistently mean (I'm good at that) ! "No, you can't wear a nappy to make you feel comfortable and secure, you will use this scary plastic hat or sit on the great hole of eternity and produce a bodily function that scares the wits out of you." After, I will jump around like a loony telling you how clever you are but if you miss I'll make sure you know it's not nice to be wet or dirty IS IT!

Hope J had a nice b"day, can you send me a peice of P's cake please? sounds delish.

largeginandtonic · 15/07/2009 21:58

Well done Shmoka! Keep it up now

Shurrup Biffa lady, i blardy hate it. The boy is doing well though, he jumps on and off the potty like a nutter though. Dribble of wee, play, dribble of wee. FFS it is soooo tedious.

Court news, he didn't show I have no fecking idea what he is playing at. The boys are confused and i am upset for them. I am pissed off AND out of pocket. Oh it is such a joy.

SKYTVADDICT · 15/07/2009 22:08

Oh no LG&T. He really is an ARSE!!

Not long been home. Been helping at the Yr 6 prom for which I am going to be PTA co-ordinator next year and the year after when DD2 will be in Yr 6 and I will then hopefully hand it on!! Kids seemed to have a good time and I have eaten too much bbq. Also been out all day due to toddler summer party this morning and helping set up school hall this afternoon.

Another busy day tomorrow - car in for tyres, slimming world, church service, signing on and the last music bugs for the summer. Will be very pleased to be home tomorrow night.

AprilMeadow · 16/07/2009 08:31

Morning all!

Well done to L for sleeping through on Tuesday night. Did he manage it again last night?

What a complete tosser LG&T!!! Although i guess that doesnt look good for him so might that help further down the line?

MrsJB, will package you up cake and some other goodies and whizz them to you hopefully before they have gone stale/mouldy.

Had a longish day yesterday which involved a trek to Lemington Spa to see our touring car team. Didnt feel great when i got home as my bh's are really stepping up a gear and baby is moving more than ever! I called the DAU at the hosp as the mw had finished their clinic and they told me not to worry but that i was welcome to pop in if i wanted (thought that was very nice). Didnt go in but they did answer some q's for me and at least i know i can go in if i get worried.

Am feeling totally fed up with the whole thing at the moment. It really is quite sore when she goes on one of her long moving sessions, of which there are 3/4 per day. Lets hope the next 8 and a bit weeks pass quickly.

charleymouse · 16/07/2009 12:50

Morning ladies, hope you are all okay.

Bump (huge) is now kicking and can be felt externally. Gave DH a boot last night. Decides it would like to dance around just as I am dropping off to sleep.

DS has not had Mummy milk since Friday so boobs feeling a little tender this week. Thought it was time to stop although now feeling a little . Just feel bad as have got through the horrendous sickness and now feel mean.

20 week scan tomorrow. Woohoo. Am still not back to pre-pregnancy weight due to sickness but am getting heavier and bump is deffo sticking out more.

Looking forward to meet up next week, DH has chosen holiday inn as the place to be. Will be down on the Saturday and travel back Monday morning. Think DH might be wimping out though as he says I will have to look after him all afternoon and he will spoil our fun. Will leave him to go for a run and a swim in the pool.

Sorry for not catching up properly. Have moved offices again so been a bit hectic. DD has also had home visit from teachers this week and been into school this morning, quite excited by it I think. Will catch you later.

Jam I feel your pain, hope the mastitis is better. LG&T he is a twonk !!!! .
PJ & TSM hope you are feeling okay. AM cheers for directions , getting giddy now. MJB are you sure you can't make it? TMAM hope holiday is good fun. SKY hope your holiday is great. Hi Abby, SOH, Scoot, MKG, 12YG and everyone else.
