Morning ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL. You'd think with DH having been at home for a full month that I'd have had time for MN. Actually no, if any of you have ever had a DH at home for a full month you'd know exactly why I haven't had time. Get your mind out of the gutter Gin, it's not that.

Thought I'd start a new thread since MKG's lovely girl arrived such a long time ago!

April, am very sorry about your friend. How sad.

Have only had a skim through I'm afraid, but Scoot; you obviously have the patience of a saint dealing with all those tantrums, so I think you'd make a great driving instructor. Is it really what you want to do or are you trying to think of jobs to fit in with family life? Is it a reaction to the current job do you think?

Congratulations on the wedding plans SKY.

Belated birthday greetings to everyone I've missed and happy birthday in advance to all the rest. Seriously, if I go off to find the birthday thread it might be weeks before I get back!

LG&T, is there any way you can channel B's energy into activity? A gets quite naughty when she's bored or hasn't been "out". "Out" can just mean the garden and "out" means she doesn't sound so loud to me, thus killing two birds with one stone. I'm wondering if you being (understandably) afraid to leave the house with him is actually making things worse? Something like a trampoline in the garden could be great because all the bouncing up and down would use up tons of energy and wear him out, whilst also being "fun" for him and "quiet" for you.
Also, re B's nappy rash. Remember A had a hideous rash that needed anti-biotics etc? Well it went away and then was back a couple of weeks later. I thought it couldn't possibly be teeth again as she seems to have all her teeth. Took her off milk and hey presto, the rash was gone in 18 hours. Plus her soft, foul-smelling poos have turned into normal firm not-awful smelling poos. She's fine with butter or the occasional bit of cheese, but any more lactose sets her off. I wonder could B have a similar problem? A's excema also got worse on milk and is now clearing up. I think it's probably temporary, she had a similar problem last year, but for now she's on rice milk or the Lactofree products when I can get hold of them.

I was at the doctor on Weds to get my Mirena removed and replaced with a copper coil to see if my libido would come back. GP couldn't "find" the Mirena. I have to go for a scan to find it, then to a family planning clinic to have it removed if they do find it. She said it's probably just lost, rather than come out, but it's kind of put me off using coils altogether now.

DH still not redundant yet. It's been a month since he was put "at risk". He's seeing HR today and I suspect this will be the final meeting and they actually sack him. His manager admitted they were hiring new people for the desk, but not for "his role", which is just a load of crap. You can't make a position redundant on the basis you want to hire someone "more senior". That's just a staff upgrade. Hopefully they'll make a settlement offer today, otherwise he'll have to appeal and start sending solicitors letters. However, he's had loads of interviews, lots of callbacks and good feedback.

Hi lovelies

I'm not even going to pretend I feel well enough to catch up, but know that I lurk all the time, and can't wait to see (some of) you at the meet up! Three weeks on Sunday! Woo hoo

AprilMeadow · 02/07/2009 11:46

Morning!

Are you feeling shocking this morning again? Dont forget to do your risk assessment - you need fans!!!

Nothing remotely interesting to tell you this morning apart from my friend and her baby came home last night which is fantastic 5 days in hospital would have had me climbing the walls!

OOh dh update, he saw a cloud yesterday

Tillyscoutsmum · 02/07/2009 11:51

Hi all - I have been lurking but haven't got the energy to catch up properly but in brief:-

AM - lovely bump

PJ - Man up chick - it'll get better soon

LG&T - exh = prize twat

TMAM - well done... OOh and I read TMAM on hols for the first time. Have been meaning to read it for ages... twas very good

CM - - more d&v - how hideous. Hope it gets better soon

Hi to everyone else

I am NOT coping very well at all atm Am so hot and tired and Tilly is being incredibly trying. Another aborted shopping trip today with her screaming and kicking and lying on the floor in the middle of a shopping centre and me crying and begging her to get up and bystanders tutting and shaking their heads. I just don't know what to do with her

Pinkjenny · 02/07/2009 13:04

AM - I am still not commenting on that bump picture. It made me so depressed that I had to ring my best friend and have her reassure me that I would not be too fat to leave the house at 9 months pg.

Tills - no, you man up A is exactly the same. I keep saying to my mum, "Are all two year olds like this?"

I have found (in my infinite inexperience) that keeping the atmosphere light and basically ignoring the tantrum helps. If I start screaming at her or she can sense that she has bothered me, things deteriorate rapidly. Tough in this heat though. Oh well, chin up, it's going to rain tomorrow.

Pinkjenny · 02/07/2009 13:05

And Scoot is fine. Although so obsessed with Twilight, I fear we may have lost her forever to teenage vampire stories.

AprilMeadow · 03/07/2009 11:22

Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on, Take That and Party, Come on, Come on, Come on, Come on Take That - woowooo

Getting in the concert mode this morning. Feel knackered already, so hoping i find my second wind

Pinkjenny · 03/07/2009 11:36

Seriously, Take That and Party was not their finest hour.

Have a fantastic time. I am sooooooooo jealous. And take it easy for the love of God.

And don't forget Jason.

Thanks muchly.

AprilMeadow · 03/07/2009 11:50

LOL

Have made a playlist of the tour songs and am singing along to them whilst tidying the mess up here!

They do a range of baby tour t-shirts etc - very funny/cute but not sure even i would be that cruel!

Pinkjenny · 03/07/2009 11:55

Yeah, they did a NKOTB babygro. I didn't buy one, by the way.

AprilMeadow · 04/07/2009 01:52

Awesome concert!!! Took 4 hours to drive 40 miles there and 2.5 hours to drive back.

Was sat at the back of the stadium but had a good view. A few rows behind us were Phillip Schofield, James Corden, Sheridan Smith, my mate Melanie C and Girls Aloud. Was totally bizarre to be that close to them all. Phone Mel after the show to thank her for my tickets..

Pink, i have photos of Jason for you. Will upload to facebook and tag you

Night all x

largeginandtonic · 04/07/2009 21:30

Get you AM with the name dropping

It was still a blardy NKOTB concert...i just DONT get it.

I have just bought a Bugaboo Gecko! On ebay. I sold the Jane and it paid for the swap. I have a problem

DH is not here to restrain me.

AM is £60 ok for the swing? The little minx just tries to climb out!

I have a hop n pop in the kitchen that she loves though.

She is on day 6 of weaning now, loves carrots, broccoli and squash so far. She opens her mouth and eats the lot!

B still up ladies. What am i going to do? He climbs the stair gate so i can't even leave him to scream.

AprilMeadow · 05/07/2009 11:06

Er TAKE THAT!!! Not NKOTB thank you very much
£60 is great. You want pennies now or when you come over?
Weaning sounds fun and messy

Dh is back and not feeling well - super!!

largeginandtonic · 05/07/2009 13:39

LOL i had not even had a drink Still TT though...

Dont mind AM

When is dh home?

largeginandtonic · 05/07/2009 13:41

Ignore that muppet comment. Whats up with him?

Poor you! Just when you thought a rest was coming.

AprilMeadow · 05/07/2009 17:10

whats wring with TT???????? I love Mark & Gary - Jason is Pink's [ewwwwwwww]

Dh is feeling much better although has has a funny few hours with temperature, funny breathing and being quite restless. Seems ok for now, but not sure if thats the calpol masking it.

LOL at name dropping was totally weird to be sat so close to these people. I was joining in to the dance routines as and when i felt like it, but was particularly active in the Never Forget section. Baby seemed to enjoy herself and was wriggling along to some of the songs

30 weeks tomorrow and have started collecting bits for my hospital bag already. One of the beds is going this week so i can start sorting through the baby bits and bobs. Have been onto Mothercare and ordered 1 pack of vests and sleepsuits in both early baby (upto 5lbs) and tiny baby sizes (upto 7.5lbs) as they were in the sale. Just want to be on the safe side incase madam decides to appear early like her sister.

3 weeks until the meet up - woo hoo

JamInMyWellies · 06/07/2009 08:23

TT rule!

Although Blur were pretty awesome on Friday night.

Themasterandmargaritas · 06/07/2009 12:22

at Blur. I love the photo you took of yourselves. .

twelveyeargap · 07/07/2009 11:19

I like Howard axshully. Not that I went to the concert... My friend came over at the weekend and went on Sunday. I picked her up from the airport on Saturday afternoon and we caught the last few hours of the Wireless Festival in Hyde Park. To which I wore heels. I felt very glamorous.

Hi all

Mainly just posting to keep this in "threads I'm on"

TSM, hope you find a way through the tantrums.

D has discovered the joys of having stories read to him, he knows Where the Wild Things Are and The Gruffalo off by heart.

charleymouse · 07/07/2009 11:55

Morning all, no more S & D Hurrah,

Twenty week scan next week. Will have pics to show you at meet up.

Just sneaking on whilst at work, will catch up later.

Ooh just got some really good news our friends (DDs godparents) have been TTC since before DD was born and have had 4 I think lots of IVF have just tested positive. I emailed them yesterday to let on about our bean as it always seemed the wrong time and then got this lovely message back about what a wonderful gift it is and she is trying to keep her feet on the ground but is floating somewhere above cloud 9 at the moment. Early days yet but so happy for them. Blardy hormones burst into tears when I read the message.

AprilMeadow · 07/07/2009 12:39

Great news for your friends CM. Also woo hoo that the S&D has gone - i hope thats it now! Cant believe that you are at the 20 week stage already, it seems to have flown by

Pink..... dh has just got me tickets to see Back Street Boys at the o2 the day after you see them

SKYTVADDICT · 07/07/2009 12:45

Hi all

Just been for a job interview. Interestingly boring job title - Personal Secretary to the Deputy Director of Performance and Information and the Head of Strategic Partnerships! Has to be NHS with a title like that! I think it went ok but you can never tell. I am not over confident as I think if there is someone who is good and wants to full time they would go for that rather than job share but you never know.

L is 1 in 4 weeks! I haven't worked now for 1 year this week and I really don't know how I am going to . I don't want to leave my babies

On a happy note I am really looking forward to the meet up at AMs. When I get my head round the fact that we are actually going on holiday and I have to pack for 5 of us (DP does his own), then I may get round to contacting you AM to see what we need to bring.

largeginandtonic · 07/07/2009 13:22

The meet up yay!!!!!

CM fab news for your friend Are you glowing yet? Did you find out the colour?

The last concet i went to was blardy years ago, i am OLD.

I am dead on my feet. Beau is very special.

Pinkjenny · 07/07/2009 13:26

AM - yes I saw your status update

LG&T - I can't believe anything would surprise you after 7! Is Beau unique in his efforts to wind you up?

CM - aw congratulations to your friend. I work with someone who is newly pg with IVF twins after 5 years of trying, and she is sooo happy, I just walk around with a permanent scowl on my face.

Not much to report here. Have been bleeding now since Sunday, just on wiping, and brown. Not had it checked as I'm sure it's nothing. Gynae ward said to only go in if I get any abdo pain or it becomes bright red.

Why is nothing ever simple?

SKYTVADDICT · 07/07/2009 13:30

Oh yes CM - looking forward to seeing your scan piccies. Will you be finding out the colour?

Bless Beau LG&T. I have a feeling that L is going to be a lot more "special" than Callum. Callum is such a placid little boy. He does have his moments but has never thrown himself down or anything. L is already throwing himself about if anything gets taken off him or if there is something he doesn't like. There could be trouble ahead

I have a 13 week job centre interview on Thursday to talk about why I am still signing on. I have to take my CV which I still haven't done . All the jobs I have applied for so far have been application forms and I can't pull my finger out or find the time to do one. I have just sat for an hour putting my details into what was described as a "free" CV writer and suprise surprise it isn't free! Suppose I was a bit gullible but I could have done my own by now - boys will be awake soon so what a blardy waste of time!!!
