Sarah CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! That's fantastic. So pleased for you. Another pregnancy for us to follow. Not even long to wait for your first scan...... . How are you feeling? Hopefully ok as your job must be horrible if you're feeling rough.

Elliepac what a terrible time your family's had. Your poor mum having to go through that twice, and with your sister too. Hope the holiday is good for everyone. Does your sister have one child then? Would she have liked more? How awful.

Nice to hear from your swotty, even if it is the odd random x . Sticks, stones, stones over here, stones over there. I used to look at parents following their toddlers around endlessly and think why do they do that? Can't they just sit them down and make them stay put? Well, now I know.

Just had a weekend away down on the south coast with another family to do a bit of climimg. Malcolm and the other little boy, who's 2 got on SO well. It was just lovely. There were lots of cuddles, lots of serious bashing stones together and getting very grubby and at one point they lay down together under a blanket for a nap....

Well better go. Am being seriously neglectful. Malc in his sleepsuit in front on cbeebies, no breakfast, and me on mumsnet with a diet coke. He just came and lay down in the middle of the kitchen floor so maybe I'd better go and feed him.

Evening all,

gill, thanks for your kind words. I just re-read my last post and realise that i just blurted everything out, must have been therapeutic . In answer to your question, my sister doesn't have any children of her own, she has an 11 yr old stepdaughter (who she loves dearly) but none of her own so tis very sad for all concerned. Can't wait for holiday though!! 2 days left then no work for 6 weeks . MUst also add that DD NEVER sits still, always doing something she shouldn't be, eating things she shouldn't or getting into something she shouldn't. I had forgotten how exhausting toddlers can be!

Sarah, i truly empathise with the feeling sick thing, I was never sick with either of mine but just had constant nausea. I think it's worse because at least if you are sick you get some respite from feeling sick after! I bet time will fly by till xmas.

Anyway better go and do some housework , hello to everyone else, hope you are
all well.

rozzyraspberry · 15/07/2009 23:07

My goodness Sarah congratulations!! An unexpected BFP maybe but I know very wanted. You must have fallen pregnant really soon after having your implant out - your DH must be really proud. Brilliant to be 8-9 weeks when you found out - the pregnancy will definitely fly in. Am jealous of your mat leave already!!!

We just got back on Monday from a lovely week away - we all had a really fab time. I've still got another 2 weeks off work too which is nice.

Bought a bike yesterday so we could all go out for bike runs together - dh already does a lot of cycling and has a seat for ds3 and ds1 and ds2 love being on their bikes too - now if only we could get some decent weather...

alkar · 16/07/2009 16:04

Sorry not been on for ages, dont know where the time went.

Congratulations Sarah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been looking at buying a bile too rozzy, just need to find one that will fit a seat for DS.

Bought a playhouse for DS off ebay, its a little tikes country cottage and was only £50 - bargain. He loves it he runs in it opens the windows and shouts hiya. Keeps him amused for ages

On nights again tomorrow (nobody else ever does friday night sick cover!) so I'll try to post again

alkar · 16/07/2009 16:04

I meant bike not bile - saw it too late!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 16/07/2009 21:27

Roll on xmas and io am sure it will soon be here!!!!lol

hi everyone!!!!!

oh dear more worry but trying not to get to stressed he is in the right place , he has now gone onto a ward and they seem to think its just a warning but we are awaiting news on test results,!!!!!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 17/07/2009 21:19

dad is home thankfully not a heart attack but def cardiac related, he has to go back for further tests and will get lots of help to change life style (he is a lorry driver so many bad habits to break!!!!)

Gill79 · 17/07/2009 23:24

Phew - Sarah- glad your dad seems to be ok. You're providing plenty of excitement this week aren't you! Hopefully a quieter weekend with no further dramas.....

Have laid a floor today! With my dad's help. Not too many dodgy bits. DP took Malc on the nursery trip to a farm park while I was busy. Looks like they had a lovely time.

Have a great weekend everyone.

alkar · 18/07/2009 00:17

Poor you Sarah, hope your dad is OK now.

Well done gill, laying a floor you must be very proud of yourself. Is your DP as clueless as my DH when it comes to DIY?

Work isn't too busy yet its been raining here today so A/E is quiet, you should see it on a Friday night when its hot! Brought my ipod in and I'm listening to loads of u2, I go see them, in 5 weeks

Gill79 · 18/07/2009 10:44

We're both very clueless actually! It's quite good being on an even footing though (and I also love that DP can go off and do baby stuff while I do DIY). Hope your night carried on nice and quiet Alkar.

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 19/07/2009 18:27

hi everyone

got a question, have any of you put lo's into a bed yet? we are thinking about turning the cot into the cotbed!!!!!! just dreading the whole getting her to stay in it malarcky!!!!! she is so strong minded not at all like DS was!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
Gill79 · 19/07/2009 20:31

No! Definitely not. Will keep him imprisoned for as long as possible. What makes you think about changing to a bed Sarah?

elliepac · 20/07/2009 07:19

Have not even considered it yet. Safetywise I am sure with a bed guard she would be fine but the thought of having to having to keep her in it fills me with dread as at the moment even if she doesn't go straight to sleep she just amuses herself. So I'm with Gill continued detention in the prison is the way to go. DS didn't go into bed until just before his second birthday but he is quite a placid little thing and does as he is told. DD is a completely different kettle of fish!

sarahmikeharryandrosie · 20/07/2009 08:14

she is climbing and i am worried she will fall out!!!!! however she sleeps so well and we dont really have any probs with her falling to sleep think i will just leave her until she actually escapes!!!!heehee

OP posts:
gingermumi · 20/07/2009 09:36

Fab news sarah! Quick hello to everyone else, will try to catch up later X

elliepac · 20/07/2009 09:37

aaah, now we've just discovered the joys of climbing. I didn't think she could get on to the sofa until she fell off it yesterday . If you are worried she might fall out you could always put an old duvet or something on the floor around the cot to soften any landing.

rozzyraspberry · 20/07/2009 10:03

We put ds1 and ds2 into beds at around 18/19 months as we just have a little cot rather than a cot bed. Ds1 was fine - just got out once or twice on the first night but was ok after that. Ds2 was a complete nightmare - for the first few months (can't remember exactly how long may have been as long as 6 months) I had to put him into bed then stand at the door of his room facing away from him and ignoring him until he went to sleep - otherwise he would just get up - was a blardy nightmare and definitely do not want to do that again. Ds3 is sleeping so well at the moment I don't want to rock the boat but he hasn't figured out how to open doors yet so might get him in his bed before he figures that out so at least if he gets out of bed there's nowhere he can go and the novelty should quickly wear off? Once they start climbing out of the cot it is definitely safer to get them into a little bed imo because the fall from the top of a cot would be much worse than from a low bed. Especially since it would be more likely to be head first from the cot - its quite scary at this age when they have no fear and no common sense!!

Hope your dad is ok Sarah.

Gill79 · 20/07/2009 12:57

HOW do they climb out of the cot? OMG. Malc loves climbing things but can't picture him managing that. Crikey.

My friend had a lot of trouble with her DS just 2 who would go crash onto his head repeatedly. They got him a bed and then found him down two flights of stairs still in his sleeping bag (and perfectly ok!) Had to barricade the bedroom door with two stair gates .

Malc has just reached the door handles in our house. Also very cute - someone - ?? - has taught him to knock on the door and say knock knock. While I was trying to get my keys out yesterday he was knocking on the front door shouting knock knock! knock knock! Daaaaaaa dyyyyyyyyy!

Hi Ginger - how are you?

alkar · 20/07/2009 15:26

Turned DSs cot into a bed last week. He was OK for his afternoon nap but went loopy at bed time and I turned it back into a cot at 9pm. He went straight to sleep . I think we'll leave it a while yet!

gingermumi · 20/07/2009 17:09

Hi Gill, am fine. just busy so much of the time these days. term has finished so hopefully I will have more time (i always say that and there's always something to do!). Toby is huge now, not climbing out of the cot yet thanks god! He still only says a few words but his personality is growing by the minute. We must do a meet up soon, I wonder if EGG could host again? I saw swotty on here recently but not bean. What do you think?
