I'm sure your cooking is fine Steaky
I'd guess it is the jabs.
No1 - as VG said, they don't go in for mad weighing here. DS was on the 95th centile when he was born and went to skinny rake within six months. He is still a tall, skinny, rather handsome rake and eats almost the same amount each day as DH. I saw a nice HV who looked at his chart and said 'What does his dad look like?' The answer that he was tall and skinny was fine by her and she said to use that as a guide rather than the book.
I would deffo complain about what she has said. I've had a spell recently which has filled me with gratitude for the ways women support each other and it's not nice to hear about a woman undermining people like that.
*VG - glad to hear about your mum being on the mend. Thanks for your words about your DS who as always sounds fantastic. It has really helped me to step back. I think I've lost the plot on it lately because DD1 who isn't 3 yet has passed him out in terms of her ability to get basic stuff done without supervision.
He is different rather than deliberately awkward. That is what I said to myself yesterday morning when we were in a rush and he stood in the middle of the garden intently peeling a twig, having forgotten all about his school bag.
I won't give you the full details of how I got stranded on the hard shoulder of a dual carriageway yesterday with steam pouring out of DH's car. The children weren't with me as I was on my way home from teaching. The head gasket has gone though so we are yet again on the search for a super-cheap, unbelievably reliable car. Feck. Feck. Feck.
I've just ordered Colm TóibÃn's new novel to cheer myself up (v. cheap on book depository website VG)
