Leaky.

Off to celebrate my niece's 1st Birthday today

MJreturns · 16/05/2009 11:03

Leaky that is really unfair of your MIL Some people just have no common sense whatsoever. Glad your ear is better though

Oooggs, hope L is a bit better today.
As for good news, financially I now have my head above the water again which is a good feeling, and my pay will be sorted on Tuesday when I am due to be paid again for last Sunday night. Not particularly fantastic, but good news to me anyway

Runny, hope you are ok. We really must try and meet up again soon. F is in playgroup Mon and Tues mornings now, would those mornings suit you to meet for a coffee maybe?

SPB, lovely to hear that all was good with your scan, did you find out what you are having?
Hope your dh feels better soon. I have a cold just now, and have a bit of conjunctivitis. Woke this morning to find my eyelids were stuck together and I couldn't open my eyes. Nice. Not too bad though so feel for your dh who must be suffering (in more than just a man flu kind of way!).

Not much planned here today. Dh is taking the dc's for hair cuts this afternoon so I will have a couple of hours to myself as he is also planning to call around to his mum's house. Not sorry to miss that one

StealthPolarBear · 16/05/2009 11:08

to financial sorted-ness!
Enjoy the party Dippy
DH seems to be getting better, hoping it will be over in a week not a month
We didn't find out whether T will have a brother or sister - this baby also had its legs drawn up! Everyone else seems to find out if they want to - we must have awkward children PLacenta OK this time so no re-scans booked. Now the decision has been made for us I'm quite excited about having a surprise! DH's cousin, due on same day also doesn't know so that will be exciting too!

MJreturns · 16/05/2009 11:16

That's what happened with me. F had her legs up so the lady couldn't see what she was. Dh would have found out if he could, but I did like the fact that the choice was taken away iykwim!

And yes, to financial sortedness indeed!! I knew it wouldn't take me too long as things weren't that bad, but it is so stressful at the time. When (hopefully not if) I get paid next week I will actually have a bit of money left over which is a novelty!!

elkiedee · 16/05/2009 13:19

Wow, are you 20 weeks already SPB? Why does everyone else's pregnancy go by so fast. My stepsister is due to have her second child next month too - her ds is only 7 weeks older than Danny.

StealthPolarBear · 16/05/2009 18:20

I am 23 weeks today And that's what we said about yours - one week you told us you were pg, next week you were almost giving birth (kind of...)
MJ - glad it isn't just my DCs that are awkward in the womb! I just found it odd - they managed to scan all the bits they needed to check in detail (which I'm obviously very grateful for - prefer it this way round!) what if the genitals were on their list?!

MJreturns · 16/05/2009 18:43

Lol SPB!

CaptainDippy · 17/05/2009 09:41

Leaky, how was your weekend???

Oooggs, fab news re all the rooms getting sorted.

MJ, so glad you got your money sorted.

How is everyone else doing?

Has been busy here. Out Thursday and Friday night, and my Mum, Dad and Brother came over on Saturday which was lovely. Db heading back to Singapore after a few days here, and we didn't tell B that he was coming. The look on her face was just lovely Went to watch dh run a 10k today, and then B had a party to go to over lunch at a soft play place, so we all went. K had a whale of a time. All B's friends were helping her over the difficult parts.

oooggs · 17/05/2009 20:56

that is so sweet sol, them helping K at the soft play

Sexonlegs · 17/05/2009 21:16

It was lovely to watch I have to say.

StealthPolarBear · 17/05/2009 21:54

Hi everyone
SOunds like you've had a good weekend SOL
glad decorating is almost over oooggs
MN has been quiet today (well this thread in particular)
off to bed soon as had a couple of bad nights. DH let T watch some of Spiderman yesterday, he loved it and kept running around throwing his web around and making the noise but when Doc Oc came on he was a bit scared and DH said he was shaking and saying No No No Obviously DH switched off but not really fast enough and T had nightmares last night so came in with me almost immediately.

MJreturns · 18/05/2009 09:44

Poor little T SPB. It is amazing how quickly they can be bothered by something on TV isn't it.
MIL let ds watch Eastenders one evening, the episode where Kevin (I think) died in his car with something piercing him through the middle I believe. I was really annoyed with her, and ds was worried that something like that would happen to us when we were in our car.
Thank goodness your dh has the sense to switch it off!

Runny, glad the impetigo is improving

Off to bed now as I have worked another night shift last night. I am doing next Sunday night too, then have decided to have a week off before doing any more extra work. So glad of the money though

StealthPolarBear · 18/05/2009 10:17

I don't know how you do it MJ - you must be exhausted!
T woke up at 10 and seemed really angry with me, DH and his giraffe, but then fell asleep again quite quickly and slept until ten to 6
How is everyone this morning?

CaptainDippy · 18/05/2009 12:18

Hoep everyone had good weekend, we thoroughly enjoyed helping to celebrate my gorgeous little niece's 1st Birthday on Sat P's screaming all the way there (2 hrs) and all the way back (2 hrs) didn't help for a very stress-free day though Do any of yours hate being in the car???? Pleeeease tell me I am not the only one!!!!!!

Yey for girlies bedrooms btw oooggs enjoy!!

CaptainDippy · 18/05/2009 12:18

Hi all

I love nap time!

CD - G is usually pretty good in the car and we can usually distract him when grumpy by pointing out lorries, diggers, buses and other vehicles that boys love.

SPB - 23 weeks! The rest will fly over.
G gets upset at people shouting on tv so I can just imagine the effect of something scarier. My mam has terrible "detective dramas" on all day long so her tv gets turned off as soon as I arrive. I envisage him seeing something horrible on Taggart. It's difficult though, I can't even watch Home and Away with G any more ( in both senses of the word)

Ooh the thought of girly bedrooms . We need to redo all of our bedrooms this year.

Weekend was tiring but not too bad. Was fab to see my friends and the food went down well, I was glad I cooked everything on Friday. The Swiss family Robertson were very low maintainence. They all slept in the same room (2 adults and 2 dc), ate everything I put in front of them, brought presents for our kids and joined us on a very windy walk yesterday morning. Our house was noisier than it's ever been with 3yo, 2yo, 1yo and Iris all in one place but pretty entertaining.

Have thawed slightly about MIL - she IS thoughtless (no newsflash) and inflexible (dh thinks it's an age thing) but has many good qualities too. Also we're up in NE next weekend so I have to forget it and make nice! She will no doubt do and/or say something to annoy/upset me but I just have to see the bigger picture. DH and SIL are so good at not taking her personally but they have had 30-odd years each of practice!

Bramshott · 18/05/2009 14:10

Dippy - O is horrific in the car. More so if N isn't there, but pretty bad all of the time . I find it fairly distracting at times and I'm convinced there's a market for a family car with a taxi style partition between the front and back!! I have been know to scream "Orla will you shut up" at the top of my voice when driving down the motorway !

leakyR · 18/05/2009 14:14

LOL i am now imagining Bramshott driving her kids round in a black cab

Bramshott · 18/05/2009 15:06

Oh I wish Leaky!!!

New pic on profile of O wearing all the pants that Phoebe sent - the first pair and the vest I put on for her, but then she disappeared into her bedroom and reappeared having put the other 6 pairs on herself!!

Been working all weekend and feel I have no brain or time to catch up so sorry about self-centered posts! Having a nice day off with the girls (N on inset) - swimming and park this morning, and making cupcakes this pm . I haven't seen them since early Friday morning, which is odd for me!
