Here we go then

roll up, roll up for the six month food fest.

Better night here, only two feeds at 1ish and 5ish, but at one point bumble was having a real chat to his blankie. DH was on the sofa and said he couldn't figure out who was talking and thought it was DD until he heard me say "shut up bumble". I have no recollection of it

We've given up with the porridge for a bit as it might have been that upsetting his tummy. He's certainly more cheerful now it's cleared his system.

chocolategal · 11/04/2009 18:24

Aww HMM I just love it there! We have been twice now and plan on going back next October for my 30th.

Have a lovely day tomorrow coolkat.

Dozymare · 11/04/2009 19:17

evening all - I am so much better, very strong antibiotics have kicked in and I feel almost back to 100%. Well, well enough to get my hair chopped today - 6/7 inches off into a choppy curly bob. Was actually really nice to get out of the house and just chill (have always lvoed the hairdressers for just sitting and doing nothing, although not to happy to stare at my wrinkles which seem to have appeared overnight Botox or not is the next question

Rutho and ladyb glad that the boys are ok. Kids are real heart stoppers sometimes and it really makes us realise how precious they are.

coolkat happy birthday for tomorrow!

WElcome 5intheegg I also have 3 DC's of the same age!!!!

Honeymoonmummy · 11/04/2009 19:50

I like your hair Dozymare! Not that I knew what it was like before... mI had my first post-baby haircut and colour the other week, it made me feel really pampered!

Dozymare · 11/04/2009 19:57

thanks honeymoon it was 6/7 inches longer before!!! Love, love love my new cut, finally, a style!

LackaDAISYcal · 11/04/2009 20:39

evening all

Hi to 5intheegg and welcome to our wee thread . I have three as well, nearly 7, nearly 2 and bumble (not his real name, obviously ) who is 23 weeks old today. He is also up two or three times a night and like you, it's a real culture shock for me as DS1 was sleeping through from about 8 weeks and DD from about 12 weeks.

I went off to bed last night, fed bumble and then DH took him downstairs. I woke up at 3ish and then DD got me up at 5 and came into bed with me, then next thing I knew it was 7.15 and she was banging me over the head with baby annabel! so, yay me getting some sleep bumble only had about an oz or so of the defrosted milk apparently, (around 6ish) and didn't want more, so DH didn't push it with him. The second bag smelled a bit dodgy this morning so maybe that's why. Anyhoo, I have plenty fresh stuff for tonight.

rutho, glad finbo seems back to normal this morning; please don't think you have poisoned him.....very little alcohol gets through in your milk and you need to be completely plastered for it to have any adverse effect.

LB, I hope J is better tonight.

rosa, bumble has started crying when I leave the room as well and has started getting strange with people he doesn't know....I know it's a developmental thing, but I thought it didn't come along till 8/9 months. Our LOs must be very advanced

now I have forgotten everything else.....abck again after my second catch up!

OP posts:
MerryMarigold · 11/04/2009 20:48

daisy LOL at Baby Annabell. Cab visualise it exactly. My ds1 has a dolly called 'Baby Annabear'!

Glad the babies are well. LB, Judo does this weird cough that is sooooo overdramatic. Poor boy has had a cough most of his little life (born with a chest infection).

Dozy am off to FB to check out your haircut. Sounds lovely.

I'm off to the FB group to see all you additions, can't wait to see what you look like and your RL names.

Can't wait to eat chocolate tomorrow. I can't WAIT.

tegan · 11/04/2009 20:58

hey coolkat thaks for the concern regarding my boobs, they feel slightly less painful but occasionally i still have lumps appear. hv told me to ask gp for a tablet to dry my milk up but when i asked the receptionist to put it in the query book her response was "i have never heard such nonsense" then the male gp said "after only 4 months of bf it shouldn't take long to stop on its own" I thought i did well to bf for 4 months as i never did it with my other dc.

Ceebee74 · 11/04/2009 21:46

Just checking in and wanted to wish Coolkat Happy Birthday for tomorrow

Have been out all day...took DS1 to see Thomas at a local railway station - he absolutely loved it!!

Glad Finbo and Jay are ok

No idea when I will catch up as I can't get on the computer during the day and the evenings seem to be vanishing aswell!!

Hope you are all having a good easter

x

LackaDAISYcal · 11/04/2009 21:52

I'm glad things have eased up a bit on the boob front tegan, just keep an eye out for mastitis. And well done on getting further this time than the last

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 11/04/2009 21:53

We've done the Thomas thing a few times Ceebee......great fun

OP posts:
5intheEgg · 11/04/2009 21:57

Thanks for the lovely welcome everyone

Coolcat we did "meet" on the puhchair thread, well done for remembering. I am lucky if I remember to put socks on all three of my kids these days

Sumo is a bit of a baby culture shock compared to my other 2 boys. He doesn't sleep through the day and still gets up 1-2 times. Last night we had a horrible night with him, he was up at midnight for a feed, then settled back down fine. Woke back up at 2, so took him in bed with me. He woke up at 5 for another feed, so got DH up as I was shattered, and he was pretty much awake from them. My other two slept through the day fine and were great at night. Sumo makes up by his beautiful smiles though, he is a little cutie.

Sorry, maybe should have added that he is 20 weeks on Monday, he was born 24 November, so probably one of the "younger" ones here. Although he does seem to think he is about 6 months, trying to sit up and rolls around all over the floor as if he is trying to escpae out the door.

ellielou02 · 11/04/2009 21:59

Hello all
Thank you all for accepting me as a friend on face book and I managed to join the group! I had a night out last night first time since DH has been away, I had a brilliant time went out with a friend from school and was quite merry but not totally buckled lol. I think it did me the world of good I havent had any ME time since DH left 5 weeks ago and although I love being with DD's I felt like things were getting on top of me again but feel alot better emotionally today (hangover didnt help tho) sorry for all of you who are having a tough time just now, I know if I am feeling a bit down as am very irritable with DD1 I try my best not to show it but sometimes cant help it then I feel awful and end up letting her off with things that I shouldnt
Glad fin and jay are ok I had a quick read through when I got in last night while I was waiting to make up bottles etc.
Daisy I like my ittis and got a tots aio in a trial pack that the council do and I like that too, did you lose alot of milk?
tegan at your receptionist at docs its none of her business what you need from the doc I know they need to have an idea about what you need to see the doc about but she should not have given her opinion (I used to be one before I was a nurse) and you have done well to BF for 4 months I only managed 6 weeks! Also is there not a natural remedy to "dry up" breast milk I am sure someone was talking about it on here a few days ago?
My DH comes home tomorrow I honestly cant wait sooooooooooooooooooooo excited.
Welcome 5 hope you lo gives you a decent sleep soon!

3rd baby: Your maternity clothes ARE your regular clothes.
___

1st baby: You practice your breathing religiously.
2nd baby: You don't bother because you remember that last time, breathing didn't do a thing.
3rd baby: You ask for an epidural in your eighth month

The Baby clothes:

fold them neatly in the baby's little bureau.
2nd baby: You check to make sure that the clothes are clean and discard
only the ones with the darkest stains.
3rd baby: Boys can wear pink, can't they?

the baby.

swing

Dummies:

1st baby: If the dummy falls on the floor, you put it away until you can
go home and wash and sterilise it.
2nd baby: When the dummy falls on the floor, you squirt it off with some
juice from the baby's bottle.
3rd baby: You wipe it off on your shirt and pop it back in.

Nappy changing:

1st baby: You change your baby's nappies every hour, whether they need
it or not.
2nd baby: You change their nappy every two to three hours, if needed.
3rd baby: You try to change their nappy before others start to complain
about the smell or you see it sagging to their knees.

home five times.

number where you can be reached.
3rd baby: You leave instructions for the sitter to call only if she sees
blood.

At Home:

1st baby: You spend a good bit of every day just gazing at the baby.
2nd baby: You spend a bit of everyday watching to be sure your older
child isn't squeezing, poking or hitting the baby.
3rd baby: You spend a little bit of every day hiding from the children.

Swallowing Coins:

1st child: When first child swallows a coin, you rush the child to the
hospital and demand x-rays.
2nd child: When second child swallows a coin, you carefully watch for
the coin to pass.
3rd child: When third child swallows a coin you deduct it from his
allowance!

so so true

ellie glad you had a lovely night out and I think it is so sweet how you look forward to your DH coming home

5intheegg sorry, I didn't welcome you to the thread so welcome! Sorry Sumo is not sleeping through but I don't think you are alone on this thread. Sam was born on 20th Nov so nearly the same age (I have another boy who is 3 in July and a pain in the bum is challenging whilst being completely adorable )

Ceebee74 · 11/04/2009 22:11

Sorry meant to say those of us meeting on 20th, can we confirm what time? I need to tell my mum so she can decide whether to cancel her bridge session - are we meeting mid-morning and hanging around for lunch?

LackaDAISYcal · 11/04/2009 22:16

So tomorrow we are going to take DS to do the same, obviously he will be none the wiser but i am excited about having my own little family now and starting our own tradions

barbareebaa · 11/04/2009 22:24

evening!
Just got W to sleep! Tried to do easier evening routine tonight (i.e. no bath just top n tail etc) but he wasn't having any of it, wouldn't settle after so finally took a bath with him and that did the trick! For now...
5intheegg Our lo's have the same birthday! Glad you said how many weeks as I had lost count (knew we were 19/20) and was going to have to count again!

Ceebee74 · 11/04/2009 22:24

Yep I can probably be there (wherever 'there' is) by 10.30-11ish.

Just realised my last post made me sound like a teenager or something in that I have to tell my mum what I am doing
