Good luck Disney and Samuel. Will be thinking of you. Just thought I'd drop this in now as I'm not always uptodate with what's been going on and sometimes it's a couple of weeks before I log on again.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
LLxx

Rumpel · 12/05/2009 11:18

Hi All,

DISNEY - sending wee Sam and you strength for the op - I am sure he will pull through he seems like a right wee fighter! It's good you are having therapy as it can only help with all the stuff you have to cope with and I am sure eurodisney will be a tremendous break for all your family.

JODIE - I have finally got below 13st7lbs - hurrah! Still a long way to go but at least I have broken that particular barrier. Heading down to 12stone. Potty training is great apart from the poo thing - we had 3 poos in pants as she still freaks out a bit as her bum still hurts but the movicol is really helping - just need to overcome her mental barrier now and hope the tear heals quickly. Pee wise she has been fabulous and can nap no bother. Any luck with a job yet?
Enjoy seeing you sis and let her give the boys as much love and fun so you can get a wee rest

I've been really busy as per usual. Had a few meets and been to lots of softplay. I have a job interview this pm for a wee 12 hour a week job in a shoe franchise at the local Dobbies store. Don't even know if the hours will suit but if you don't try you don't know. Managed to get a babysitter through one of the netmum mums so we can go out sometime. Dh has been studying like mad as he has exams next week so I have been taking the DCs out to give him peace - consequently the house is a midden! Luckily my new NM friend is coming over this pm so we can practice out pole dancing on my newly eretced pole (in the playroom) so she said she woul;d watch the Dcs whilst I have my interview.

DD was hilarious - once the pole was erected she was dancing around it and wiggling her hips

Calvin can't crawl - he only just rolled onto his front the other day for the first time, he can sit up though (at last) he is in 12-18 months clothes - must get him weighed measured etc.

My elderly neighbours were both taken into hospital last week so I went to to see them (it was gross - dirty!!) and have been popping over to keep an eye on one of them since she was let out but yesterday I wne tin and she was on the toilet having a panic attack - poor soul. Thankfully she got taken into residential care last night - so sad to see someones life ebbing away from them

SK - how are you getting on re anxiety these days? The meds kicking in yet?

BEB - sorry to hear you are a bit down with the MS scenario - have you tried support groups - online research etc?

PIGLEY - house woes - hope they get better soon.

ISAIDNO - are you dishwashered up yet?

Right must go as need to dry hair and get organised - sorry if I missed anyone and hope everyone is well - I'll get a chance to check our FB at soem point in life!!!

bebejones · 12/05/2009 18:32

Welcom back Disney!! Sending lots of positive, fingers crossed, luck type vibes for you and little Sam. ((((((((((((BIG HUGS))))))))))

DH & I are seeing his therapist together next week as GP thought I might benefit from some counselling for the MS. He has signed me off work for another month & told me that under no cicumstances was I allowed to go back full time for the first couple of months!

Pigley - how is the new boiler going?

Phoebe is now completely into EVERYTHING. I am shattered! I left the room for 10 seconds to pick the post up & came back in and she was stood holding onto the fire grate thing (It's a HUGE brick fireplace that we are having trouble finding a guard for) she was very pleased with herself! I ordered a new TV stand but forgot to measure the TV & now found it won't fit (is not a new style flat screen) so we are now debating getting a new TV!!! P has started clapping properly (with hands open instead of fists) this weekend & does it all the time it's so cute! 9 month check this week so have been writing a list of this to ask. (TMI alert) She gets so constipated & doesn't go for days then produces solid dry grey poos for a couple of days then diahorrea for a couple of days then nothing again for a few days. She eats lots of veg purees, porrige, red meat, prunes etc & has a fair amount of water now but it doesn't seem to make any difference. Does anyone else have a LO that does this? Am I being weird to think it's a problem. The Docs have only ever given her some lactulose to get her going but it is become a persistant issue.

I know there was something else I was going to share with you guys but I can't for the life of me remember what it was! Must go get lasagne out of oven! xxx

Rumpel · 12/05/2009 18:43

My neighbour died So glad she wasn't on her own though but very that her DH (whom I am very fond of) didn't get to see her or say goodbye. Going to visit her DH tomorrow.

cass66 · 12/05/2009 20:11

Hi girls, not posted here for ages, but been reading. lots of photos and 2 videos (!) on facebook of the kids, they are all so much fun and exhausting.

Ed can sit, roll and nearly pull himself up. he tries to crawl and then gets on his hands and feet instead of hands and knees and topples over headwards. very indignantly!! He stands really well when held too. he's also very happy and claps and babbles away to himself.

We are taking part of a research project where a lovely girl comes and videos Ed talking (hopefully) for 30mins, and I get £10 each time. easy money!

I'm performing at an evening of Egyptian Dance on Sat! have got a lovely wedding guest costume made for me! I'm a bit nervous as I'm the newest to the group and I've only had 3 rehearsals. Luckily it's meant to be informal!!

Will you be performing any pole dancing Rumpel??!!

SK - where in Scotland do you live?? We are still considering moving to Scotland, but would prob live around Stirling rather than Glasgow and Hubby can commute by train. Any suggestions??

Disney, good luck for the following weeks...

Cass.

pigleychez · 12/05/2009 20:29

Hello everyone,

M2L- Abigail seems to have dropped her last nap lately too. Used to have 3 a day as she wakes early at 6 but now doesnt seem to want the last one but goes to bed abit earlier as shes knackered.

Disney- Glad things are going ok. Sam is a little ray of sunshine and im sure he will be just fine
Remember you can always sound off here

Rumpel- Well done on the weight loss! Im now on a diet (nothing strict, just cutting down on the nibbles and naughties!)
Hope the job interview goes well

Such a shame about your neighbour Your very kind visiting them in hospital.

Bebe- Hope the therapist session helps you
Def with you on them Being into everything. Abigail is the same!

Cass- The research sounds interesting. Love the videos..especially sliding down the stairs! Looks such fun!
Good luck with the dancing

Plumbers are really really starting to wind me up now!! Was orginally told that they would be finished today, but now they are back tomorrow and should be finished then. Just seems to be dragging on and on, plus im concerned at the bill with the amount of days its taken. They first came Wed pm, allday thur and fri. Mon pm and all day Tuesday and tomorrow!
Dh rang him tonight asking if he had any idea of the bill as its getting concerning! Should find out tomorrow but im dreading it

On a better note, The new fences in the garden are being fitted on fri (weather dependant)and my new oven is finally coming on Wed At last, I can actually cook as apposed to just using a hob!!

Mummywannabe · 12/05/2009 20:39

Hi all.

Jodie - that was my little bugger's first word, flower, still his only one.

Pigley - Max has also cut down to 2 sleeps

Not had time to be log on for ages, Foundation degree finishes in 1 month and have so much to do! Then i get a break until jan and then finish my full BA in Early Years in Sept 2010! So will have more time in a month or so.

sweetkitty · 12/05/2009 21:22

Oh loads to catch up on, we are all fine here, had a lovely day today we went to a country park for the DDs nursery trip, apart from DD2's one tantrum we had a great time. DP had Bethany for most of the day, think she had a great time watching him cut the grass. We have a few words here now, Hiya and Dad. Trying to pull herself up too. Getting quite a temper on here, screams if you take anything away from here and if she spies a cupboard door open and heads for it and you close it she screams. Sleeping still a but hit and miss but on a good night we are down to waking twice now.

Mummywannabee - good luck with the studying

pigley - nightmare about the plumbers hope the bill isn't too painful

Cass - I live in Motherwell which isn't that nice but what it has got going for it is affordable houses and great transport links, it's about 20 mins from Glasgow and 40 mins from Edinburgh where DP works, I love Stirling and the surrounding countryside too. Also right next the M74 the main route to the South. Only thing I notised when I moved back is the weather, it rains a awful lot here. Ed sounds lovely will check out FB

bebe - think the counselling will do you good, you have so much on your plate right now. This is my third baby and I am still amazed at how they are into everything, I also have the added hazard of the other two leaving things B shouldn't get on the floor

rumpel- good to hear from you, you seem to be really busy and making RL friends which is fab. So sorry to hear about your neighbour too. Thanks for asking about the anxiety, I don't know if the meds are working probably a little bit but the GP won't up my dose because I am BFing.

disney - nice to see you too, love and hugs to Samuel as everyone else has said he has fought this far I think he will go on fighting, special little boy that he is

Rumpel · 13/05/2009 15:12

Hi All,

Just a quickie as I am off to hospital in a bit to visit my neighbour.

CASS - I live in Stirling. Your Dh is a teacher isn't he? Trains run really frequently from here to Glasgow bit it depends on whereabouts in Glasgow he ends up working - he may have to go to another train station within Glasgow and get another train or tube out to where he works. If he ends up in central Glasgow he'll be alright. It takes about 25 mins to get to G by train from here. I love Stirling - countryside is grogeous and it is very central for the rest of Scotland. I live between Stirling City and Bridge of Allan - about 3 mins drive into the City. Bridge of Allan is beautiful but you need to be a lwayer or footballer etc to be able to afford there! House on estate are selling (brand new 4 bed with garage) for £285,000 or a second hand one about £215,000. It has a great school and really lovely friendly people - very child friendly. Places to avoid would be Falkirk, Brightons, Fishcross, Plean, Menstrie.
Good luck for Saturday - I am performing with my group at a hafla on 26th June - we are doing a silk veil dance. No i defo won't be performing pole dancing - I'm pants at it!!! Just doing it for weight loss and because it challenges me - I'm scared really but being a bit scared is good for you

Job interview went fine - just working out child care incase they offer it to me. Rubbish wages compared to my last job but I just want something with no stress and handy for the kids

SK - would you not consider stopping BF now to get yourself together? It is so hormone related the anxiety thing - once you get your homrones back to 'normal' you'll feel more like your old self.

Right must go - am dreading going to see him actually. I'm so pathetic that's one of the reasons I had to give up nursing - I get too emotionally involved. I always think the worst thing anyone can do is start crying with sympathy when you are just holding it together by a gnats pube!!! I must not cry I must not cry

take care all
xxxxx

Blisters on hand from pole and back tonight arggg!!!!!

ponto · 13/05/2009 20:46

Lovely to come on and have so many new posts to read - I really enjoy hearing what you're all up to . Though I'd better contribute a bit too.

Bryony seems to be doing something new nearly every day, today she did the sign for food for the first time (I was fed up with her grizzling and said 'Oh Bryony, what do you want?' and she signed 'Food!') She also has her 5th tooth, and took her first steps pushing the baby walker across the room. So a busy day in baby land, hope she will sleep well tonight!

Rumpel, hope your hospital visit was ok and you managed to hold it together as you wanted to.

Disney, nice to see you back. I have been wondering how you and Sam have been doing.

Pigley, sympathies on the boiler . I have been through it, it's not nice, but we are so happy with our new one (although we have almost no money now as my first pay check hasn't come through yet - there was only £4 in the account the other day when dh tried to take some money out! Cue frantic overdraft application - granted, fortunately).

Pigley, Bryony wakes early too, 5.30 today, though she just babbled in her cot until 6, when I gave in and fed her. She is having good naps during the day though, one of 30 minutes and one of 2+ hours, one morning, one afternoon. If I let her sleep in the morning she has the long one then and then she sleeps on the school run in the afternoon, otherwise if we're going out I wake her after 30 minutes in the morning and put her down again after lunch. Don't think she's quite ready for a single nap yet. I'm hoping she will be by September as dd2 will start preschool in the afternoons and I would love to have 2 childfree hours each day!

Mummywannabe, nice to hear from you again.

Cass, good luck with the Egyptian dance evening. Will you be putting that on Facebook as your next video??

sweetkitty · 13/05/2009 20:52

These stories about two naps makes me Bethany is usually up by 7.30am and today had ONE nap at 2-3pm, that surely is not enough but I suppose some babies sleep less than others. She was only up twice again last night. I had to sit and hold her hands whilst she stood up and walked for ages tonight when I kept sitting her down she started crying. It's amazing how they all get the urge to get on their feet (sme later than others) I have friend with babies hte same age and they haven't started crawling just content with sitting watching the world go by.

ponto - good to see you glad Bryony is doing well

Rumpel - oh posh you, I would love to live near Stirling/BoA maybe one day when I win the lottery, now you would really rather be back in Saltcoats though

libralady · 13/05/2009 21:09

Mummywannabe, are you doing OU?
I'm being made redundant later on in the year and I'm interested in doing the Early Years and Foundation Stage training with a view to becoming a Reception teacher. The only thing is I have't got a degree and as yet I haven't had a chance to do any investigation into what to do, where to go etc. Any advice would be gratefully received. I need to be flexible because of the children so I thought a move into teaching would be a good idea. Hve no desire to do secondary teaching though.
Hello to everyone else. I do lurk mainly, but love hearing what you little ones are up to.
Luke is commando crawling everywhere, can kneel and pull to stand. Only has 4 teeth and weighs 20lbs 8.5oz. Less than 6 weeks until his first birthday. Think that covers it all. Oh and only has 1 nap a day of about 2 hours, and sleeps at least 12 hours a night (Sorry)

disneystar1 · 13/05/2009 21:40

LL less than 6 weeks till his birthday, the time is going so so fast.

samuel is ultra clingy i think hes become wise to the nurses if he sees one he screams
my mama my mama he will not leave me .
does anyone elses baby have a fav ad on tv

samuel likes the direct line? is it the one with the big red phone he loves it claps away going do do do do its so funny as soon as he hears it he whips his head round fast.

got a call today would i please take him to see another surgeon on friday, hows that for quick notice....theyve remembered he has a cleft palate and apologise for forgetting...

hes a dinky 15lb has 10 teeth he has 1 long nap usually 2-3 hours or 2 small ones goes to bed at 8pm now every night but wakes up oh maybe 10-12 times a night in the end we co-sleep, i love it waking up to his little small face looking at me.

going to have an early night as i have to go to town tomorrow and i dread doing that. ive been twice i think since new year.
sleep well babies and be good x

pigleychez · 13/05/2009 22:37

Mummywannabe- Good to see you back. Dont know how you find the enthusiasm to study! I know I just couldnt do it any more.

SK - Abigail is the same with her temper! Agree about developing at different rates. I know a 10mth old walking and a 16mth old who has just taken her first steps!

Ponto- well done Byrony on the signing Its amazing how quickly they pick things up.

LL- "ONLY" 4 teeth! we dont have any!

Disney- Abigail likes the Meerkat advert
Shes has also discovered a sense of rythm. Whe she hears music she rocks back and forth and has just started jigging side to side! Usually in time to the music. Looks very cute! Loves the radio and the music channels. I keep trying to catch it on video but she seems to spot me every time and make a beeline for the camera!

Well thankfully the boiler is now all done!!! !! Be soo nice to get my house back! Bill wasnt tooo bad, less than we feared but still £3,600 so enough.

Fences in the garden were supposed to be done friday but the guys turned up today. Let them get on with it ( Workmen everywhere!) but the idoits have only put in 5ft fences and we wanted 6ft. Arrghh something else to sort out.. Why is nothing ever simple
DH has an interview tomorrow in our house so Abigail and I need to vacate to give them some space. This interview is for his current job. They do forensic work for government agencies (MI5 etc) and needs to have extremely strict security checks. They have already interviewed 3 of his friends about him and dived into all our finances and Background. Its all very intense!

sweetkitty · 14/05/2009 11:45

pigley - £3600 poor you and about your fences, we have 6ft fences all the way round the back garden and a 6ft gate with a big bolt at the top, keeps the little darlings from escaping, great peace of mind until DD1 learns to drag a chair over and open it! Scary job checks for your DH, is he having to reapply for his own job or a promotion?

I am exhausted today, DD2 was complaining of a sore tummy last night so was woken at 2am with the sick sounds, changed all her bed and PJs put her back to bed, half an hour later you guessed it but this time it was hair too so I am changing sheets whilst DP is hosing DD2 down, finally got back to bed at 3am, she was up another 10 or so times crying but no sick thankfully. B was only up twice though.

Mummywannabe · 14/05/2009 13:14

Libralady - yes is OU, total of 5 course for foundation degree, first 3 are less work but still need about 5hrs a week. Last 2 are more heavy and require much more study time. Will need to add further course to make into full degree. Most courses run Oct-June or Feb-Oct so can be a wait between courses but i valued this time as a rest!

Found studying with OU very good, no problems at all. You have a study calender which you should follow but as long as you get assignments in on time you can work at own pace (hence why i am so behind at moment!!)

bebejones · 14/05/2009 13:51

Hello all!

Disney - P's favourite TV ads are the LV insurance one & compare the meerkat. If DH says 'simples' she does the squeek it's so cute! (DH had been working on it for some time & she finally cracked it at the weekend!)

P only has one nap a day. She used to have a short half hour in the morning & about 1-2 hours lunchtime(ish) then a short one in afternoon. Think they have just sort of merged into one big 2-21/2 hour nap. She also sleeps about 11-12 hours at night.

Got her 9month check later so will do a 'proper' post later...DH wants the PC back!

TheRedSalamander · 14/05/2009 15:59

Quickie post here, house is revolting and need to make most of time while L is occupied (why am I on here??)

lololol at P's squeak bebe! That really made me laugh, I love that advert too

Glad your boiler probs are finito pigley. Loubert has no teeth either! So cute and gummy. And hello Disney glad you're back, hugs to you & sam.

Sorry if I've missed anyone am thinking v quick which is a rare feat these days

L does proper crawling now instead of wounded soldier shuffle, cruising round furniture quite merrily too. Naps once in the morning for 1/2hour or so then again after lunch for 1.5 hrs maybe a bit more. Bed at 7 ish, rise at 5.30 or 6 ish, down to just one night waking now on a good night (but they aren't often good nights sadly!)Not sure of his weight though.

Now onto what he shouldn't be doing : climbs everything/opens all cupboard doors/pokes teeny fingers into seemingly even teenier holes/tips peg bucket out at least thrice daily/tries (almost successfully ) to launch himself out of the travel cot/ climbs onto second stair where gate is then climbs onto gate and rattles it to get my attention if I've popped upstairs/doesn't say any real words just aDA aDA aDA all day long/tries to open the oven door/ if we leave the cloakroom door open he's straight in there fishing around in the loo (found him about to cram a fistful of used loo roll into his mouth a while ago, ds1 had neglected to flush the loo after a wee- thank heaven for small mercies- and left the door open. Disgusting baby!)/climbs into the big toy basket in the living room (one of the big hamper style ones) you get the picture. I call him the pickle monster because he gets himself into so many scrapes, ds1 was never this adventurous so it's a bit of an eye opener. Exasperating to say the least.

Anyway this was supposed to be a short post but now I've heard the understairs cupboard door go, think he's worked out how to open that one now think I need some locks!

Love to all x

ponto · 14/05/2009 20:38

I'm thinking about cupboard door locks too, or rather drawer ones, but mainly to try to prevent Bryony opening them and closing them hard on her fingers . Dd1 was the same, took her ages to learn not to do it!

SK, you have my sympathy, vomit in the hair at night is the worst thing. Hope your dd2 has been better today and you get a good night's rest.

Bryony doesn't get to watch any ads as the only TV the older 2 will allow us to watch during the day is CBeebies!

Ikeep meaning to ask, does anyone else's LO have a dribble rash under their chin? Bryony has one that just refuses to go, I've tried Vaseline, Dermol (eczema cream), a bit of hydrocortisone, Aveeno, nappy cream and Unguentum M (another eczema cream), then a whole week of Canesten in case it was a fungal infection. It's as bad as ever. I'm a bit reluctant to buy more stuff without a recommendation as I don't want to waste my money but if anyone has had any luck with something else please let me know. I didn't mind too much previously but now she seems to rub it from time to time so I think it must be sore

mama2leah · 14/05/2009 20:47

organic babies- baby salva, works for leah eczema....

sorry for quick post...
hope ur all good...
stil no movement goin on here...

bebejones · 14/05/2009 20:55

Red - lol at the loo roll, disgusting but very funny can just imagine the scene!

Pigley - glad the boiler is sorted at the bill though! Interview & checks for your DH sounds scary, fingers crossed for him that it all goes ok!

Really with DH today, he is really getting on my nerves & I just want to give him a good slap! & Apparently all our 'bickering' is getting him down. We had been fine today until he snapped at me in Tesco over nothing (he miss heard something I said) & then took offence when I tried to tell him what I had actually said & told me to stop having a go! He has been in a grump ever since! This is of course all my fault as usual! MEN!

P's 9month check with HV was all fine. She weighs 17lbs 15oz & is doing everything & more than they would expect. She rolled out her full repatoire(sp?) of clapping, standing, sitting, crawling, walking(holding hands) & plenty of babbling & talking, including mama & dada & thank you (which is more like gower ooo) & said & waved bye bye! Was so proud! They gave us a leaflet about getting people to come do a home safety check, but to be honest I think it might be more hassle than it's worth, the things they want you to 'baby proof' is endless & they would have a head fit if they saw our house! Not saying I don't want things to be safe but I think you can take things too far IMO! (It goes on about fire blankets, emergency escape routes & ladders, fire retardent bed clothes etc)

Hope everyone is ok. Sending sleepy baby vibes to everyone for a good night! xx

sweetkitty · 14/05/2009 21:27

ponto - I usually use a wee bit of hydrocortisone but see you have tried that, DD2 has ezcema and we use a combination of Diprobase and Aveeno with HC when it is bad

M2L - what do you mean you have had no movement since when? Sugary drinks or lying flat on your back usually gets them moving again, I think they just do it to get us worried.

Red - loving the stories, they are so in at everything, B makes a beeline straight for the downstairs toilet everytime the door is open to stare at herself in the bin (it's one of those shiny silver ones). I don't have cupboard locks apart from the cleaning one as I have a stairgate across the kitchen door so no children allowed in there, the cats bowls are on the floor and she makes a beline for them as well.

pigleychez · 14/05/2009 21:43

Hello all,

SK- Poor DD I hope shes better soon.
DH's interview went well thanks. Its part of his job.. not a promotion or anything- Just something he has to pass to enable him to do the more Highly top secret forensic jobs. His interview was 3 hours long and this was his second one. Thankfully the guy has said that he will be recommending him for clearance

Red- Loius sounds very inquisitive
at the toilet incident!
Today Abigail discovered the pack of emergency Organix crisps I have in the changing bag. Now the moment shes see's the bag shes at like a rocket and digs out the crisps!

re cupboard locks. I bought some off Ebay which were delivered today so fitting them will be a job for the weekend. Abigail has now discovered how to open the cupboards and drawers. Her fav thing is emptying my underwear drawer- Cue my knickers flying across the bedroom!

Ponto- Not sure if its the same but Abigail had dry skin patches on her body and around her mouth which started from dribbling. HV suggested a few drops of olive oil in her bath and using E45. Both have really worked well. I have even used some oil in my bath as it makes the skin so smooth!

Bebe- of the 9mth check. I got a letter saying the arent doing ours because they are short staffed!
Glad everything went well and Phoebe is doing well... well done you

disneystar1 · 15/05/2009 10:45

hi guys,
do you remember some time ago i told you of my DD and he DP being stupid in the house and there dc were suffering because of their behaviour, well last night i had to go find her and her children as she went missing for nearly 3 days.
i found her he is still hitting her they are both using drugs, thats the truth of it.
im so ashamed and sad for them 2 lovely children.
i was worried out of my mind....
she had rang his parents as they support what there doing and she said she cant look after the dc no more she cant cope
ive offered to have them live with me but he wont let them.
ive had to ring the authorities this morning
and report them both,
i had no choice i have to protect them 2 babies.
she hates me so much now and its breaking my heart but i was left with no option.

im taking samuel to meet a new surgeon this afternoon to repair his cleft soon.

all these babies gettin into eerything mkes me laugh.
samuel still lies there and cant get nothing they are moving leaps and bounds ahead of him now....im hoping samuel picks up one day
which im sure once his ops are done he will do.....guess im a bit sad today which you can tell...i just dont need this extra hassle right now.
hope everyone has a good day and the weather is better than here....

sweetkitty · 15/05/2009 12:53

DD2 well recovered thank you pigley, glad DHs interview went well too, Abigail and the Organix crisps is funny, here it's grapes Bethany wouldn't eat her sandwich yesterday as she had spied some grapes, she shovels them in two at a time.

Disney - sorry to hear about your DD, hope she comes to her senses soon re the children I'm sure Sam will get there maybe a bit slower but he will get there bless him, his photos with his Daddy were lovely

Just waiting for my friend to come over with her two DDs who are 4 and 15 months so chaos will reign in this house, B is sleeping just now and other two watching bit of TV so peaceful for the minute. Other than that just about to start sorting things out for our holiday on Monday
