one of the swine flu cases is in Redditch where we live; good job I'm not a panic pants!

bebejones · 30/04/2009 12:38

Hello all! Am enjoying a DH free morning sounds awful doesn't it! He has been dragged off to some business meetings by his dad! P and I have been shopping in Gloucester & now I am waiting for her to go to sleep in her room she is usually very good but we had a really bad night!

I don't know if you guys remember me saying about our neighbours extension? Well it is still ongoing, coming up for a year next month for major building works! The bloke has been doing most of it himself so we have been very patient (esp since we want to extend upwards over our bathroom in a year or so), anyhow last night he decides to start hammering at 8:45 & the banging and crashing continues til gone 10! Poor P was asleep when I put her down at 8:15 but was very disturbed & subsequently got upset & overtired & gave herself bad wind from screaming for hours! She finally dropped off just after 1am & woke at 7. Very very unlike her, just don't know whether to say anything coz we don't want to rock the boat & they don't do it all the time. (Although has been more frequent lately) Usually it disturbs nap time at the weekend, but not much we can say about that as it is in the middle of the day.

Quick question, how do you clean your LO's teeth after their last bottle, P nearly always falls asleep having it!!

Music group was really nice but only 4 of us. P was very bemused by the singing but enjoyed the instruments & the bubble machine! Unfortunately can't go next week as I have a hospital appt! (MS is getting better Ponto thank you for asking! Still have good days and bad days but don't think I am coping as well emotionally as I thought so will have to speak to doctor)

Must go & tackle the washing up mountain in the kitchen!

mcchesers · 30/04/2009 17:49

hey all PLEASE READ IF YOU ARE ON FB

bebejones just to let you know hon, someoe has your FB login details and is messaging me claiming to be in trouble "stuck in London" "attacked by robbers" and "needs to borrow money." Trusting this was not you..i used some choice language..but please change your password for FB pronto!!! I had to delete you, but add me again once you are sorted.

Needed to get this out to warn any mums who have Lydia as a friend on FB!!

pigleychez · 30/04/2009 17:58

Someone seems to have got Bebe's Account on FB and is asking for money to be wired to her.

There are various stories being told to different people as to why she needs the money so it sounds like a big scam!

WARNING to everyone!

JODIEwantsanewname · 30/04/2009 18:04

They've just tried to message me too, but I shut it off....

OP posts:
bebejones · 30/04/2009 19:16

Eeek! Don't know what is going on?!

mcchesers · 30/04/2009 20:02

sorry bebe..hate when stuff like that happens. Make sure and change your password in FB right away and that will sort it.

mcchesers · 30/04/2009 20:12

Anyhoo..Hi everyone. Sorry I've been awol. Too much going on around here. We just got our stuff that we had shipped over in February and we're trying to figure out what to do with it all. Aidan is has been crawling and pulling up for some time now and is getting very fast.

I'm still off work and enjoying it. My little man has four teeth that came in ALL at the same time. Mercy! Sometimes he eats, sometimes he sleeps all night, sometimes he doesn't and I'm beyond worrying about it.

Biggest worry is getting a sitter. Apparently the way it works out here in the US, is you pay a fee to the sitter service and then you have a database of sitters to choose from at their advertised hourly rate. My husband said it felt a bit sordid like we were picking an escort for our baby. But we are all getting on and I'm trying to get out and do more. Missing the NHS like mad...and British Chocolate for sure.

MinnieMummy · 30/04/2009 20:56

Feel for you Mcchesers, 4 teeth came/still coming in at once at the moment here... and it's reminded me why I stopped bfing DS at around this time!!

Little milestone here, P has been doing this slightly odd-looking recline position for the last couple of days - like she is lying on a chaise-longue on one elbow - well today she achieved her goal of getting from there to completely sitting up. I don't remember DS doing this until he was properly crawling (P is at a commando-shuffle stage).

Libra what do you mean by keeping TVs safe exactly? Safe from sticky fingers or babies potentially pulling them over onto themselves? Or do you mean something else?

bebejones · 30/04/2009 21:00

Apologies to all who were contacted on FB by the fake me! Have changed password & notified FB. AM absolutely livid and feel violated...sounds silly but actually feel sick that someone has done that. We are really worried coz we gave a guy at BT permission to access to our PC remotely at 5pm to sort out a big problem with our internet/email. If it turns out that that is what caused this they are getting it both barrels!! Just to confirm though, I am not in trouble, I never go to London & I don't need you to send me money! If you did delete me please add me again, all is safe, and FB will be checking my friends list to make sure you guys are all safe!

pigleychez · 30/04/2009 21:51

Oh Bebe- It must be awful! I was one contacted by "you". Apparently you had been robbed gun point in London and was stuck there with no money!
I did question how you were on the internet and told you were in a library trying to get money to get home. I thought it odd as surely the police would of been informed and would help you out. I felt really concerned when they asked for money as i wasnt sure if it really was you or not and wanted to help you out but didnt really wanted to wire money in case it was a scam! Seems its a known Nigerian scam. Anyway, fingers crossed it never happens again!

Minnie mum- Well done P on sitting up

Mcchesers- Hope you are settling in well. Glad Aidan is doing well

Had a lovely afternoon with friends and kiddies in the park. Got some cute pics of them all together.

sweetkitty · 30/04/2009 22:14

Evening all wow it's all going on in here

bebejones - poor you, I think anyone who "knows" you would have questioned it. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate right now with DHs job and your MS and the last thing you need is noisy neighbours, are you friendly with them? I would drop it into the conversation about P's naptimes. Our neighbours are really good and we don't hear them apart from the time they were letting off fireworks at 10pm and woke the DC (teachers in their 50's not teenagers)

Rumpel - your classes always sound such fun. Poor DD as well

minipink - hope Abbie is feeling better now

ponto - I must agree with pigley, Abigail is a fine name (although Alice is lovely too), My Abigail (DD1) still brings up the fact that she wanted B to be called Rosie "but Mummy why did you call her Bethany and not Rosie?"

Libra - hello

mcchesers - good to hear from you too, 4 teeth at once ouch

Madam B is doing great, trying to work out how to pull herself up, she gets her arms up then doesn't quite know what to do with her legs, spent the whole time in the trolley today shouting at the top of her voice round Asda (I know nearest supermarket needed a few bits) with all the old dears cooing over her.

DP is recovering well thank you everyone, has already put his name down for next year.

Is anyone else incredibly broody? I am officially insane but I was cooing over some 8-10 week olds at toddlers and feeling a bit over the pregnant women, now you all have to slap me as I bored you all to tears with my tales of woo whilst I was pregnant, I detest being pregnant, I think it's a sort of grief process as B will probably be my last baby and she is growing up too fast and I wish she would slow down a bit. Was having same conversation with a Mum at toddlers today as her 4th DC turned one she was feeling a bit teary no more babies.

I'm going to go now

pigleychez · 30/04/2009 22:30

SK- Im definately with you on the broodiness!!
Had to move into the bigger room at Baby club now due to an influx of tiny newborns in the baby room. Dont want Abigail crawling all over them! They look so tiny and make Abigail seem even bigger. Def missing my ickle baby Although loving Abigails cheeky little character!
I know soooo many pregnant people and too am begining to feel rather .

On names- My cousin had a baby girl on Saturday and called her Bethany

sweetkitty · 01/05/2009 07:22

pigley - you only have one, you are allowed to be broody, I have 3, am driven mad by them and have a house bursting at the seams, there's no way I should be thinking of having more

Your cousin has great taste in names

bebejones · 01/05/2009 08:12

I am SO broody but we have agreed to wait til next year coz of DH's job situation. Although things are picking up & he is working on some new projects for his dad & seems quite excited! Everyone I know who has been pregnant whist I was or since I was has had boys starting to think it's a conspiracy. There are 7 of them!!!! What are the odds?!?!?! I love P to bits & wouldn't change her for the world but we had wanted a boy to start off with. (And now she only has boys to play with coz no one has had a girl!) Please don't shoot me down for that, I LOVE my little girl & couldn't be happier to have her she is Fabulous!!!

Had to buy plain white sleepsuits in mothercare yesterday coz they didn't have the nice bright coloured ones in the next size up for P (she still has masses of room in the ones she is in 6-9months) but was being uber organised while I had money. I am going to get some dye & dye them today, quite excited!! How sad am I?!

JODIEwantsanewname · 01/05/2009 08:56

Morning all

I;m with you all on the broodiness, and when I only had DS1, it was about now that we started talking about having a second. I know lots of pregnant people too, and am quite but I feel like SK, I don't think I'd cope with another, emotionally or financially (although SK has 1 more than me!!!) bebe I know how you feel, as all my friends are having/have had girls, and I feel abit , but wouldn't swap my 2 for the world, funny isn't it!!!! (Maybe we could swap P and S for a day to see what it's like!!! )

mcchesers Hows Texas????

Isaidno How's the veggie thing going??? WHy did you decide to become veggie, if you don't mind me asking?

I've got to take Sam to docs today as he has a funny cluster of spots on his upper back iand under his armpit, doesn't seem to be bothering him, and it doesn't look like chicken pox, but just want to be sure. Nursery didn't know what they were, gut instinct is an allergy of some sort, but we'll see

OP posts:
mcchesers · 01/05/2009 14:12

Hey everyone..

Broodiness..ehm not so much. I'm still getting Aidan to sleep through the night. Everything feels so temporary here..I'd like to wait until we can get ourselves into a house all.

Texas is good. We've had some wicked weather lately..thunderstorms eek! There's lots to do with mums groups and all..but we're both missing Glasgow a lot. Not our old flat so much as the NHS and being able to walk. I fear that I am going to grow a giant jelly bum if I don't get out and walk instead of driving.

Will write more when I have more time. Hugs to you all!!

Isaidno · 01/05/2009 16:09

jodie - I'm still veggie; decided to do it for health reasons and because I'm not really that bothered about meat really. I try to buy free range etc and it is very expensive - lentils are super cheap!! Trying not to make extra cooking can be tricky. We're having home made pizza for tea, but I have bought some bacon for the boys to put on theirs.

Got Poppy weighed yesterday; she is back down to the 9th centile at 17lb 3oz (45 weeks old) but I'm not worried, she clearly isn't wasting away.

bebe - dyeing babygros sounds like a fab idea!

mcchesers - glad to hear the USA is good; don't go getting a huge American arse though!!! I've only been to Florida, but we were surprised how little opportunity there was to walk anywhere. We got 4 teeth in under 4 weeks here, and number 5 is imminent.

bebejones · 01/05/2009 21:27

Evening all! So proud of my dyed sleepsuit, I tie dyed it so it is red & white stripes, looks fab! Had so much fun doing it all as well, and love the bright red colour I picked, so easy to do & unique!!! Sorry to blow my own trumpet but I'm dead chuffed...can you tell?!

Phoebe chomped her way through a slice of Garlic bread then refused anything else, offered her spag bol, melon, yoghurt & strawberries. So frustrating! All she wanted was Garlic bread & that is hardly the key to a balanced diet is it?!

The little madam also threw a proper tantrum today. She kept crawling to the TV & pressing buttons on the sky box. I moved her away 5 times & said 'no' & she kept getting crosser everytime. Eventually I sat her on the floor & gave her a toy to play with. She promptly threw the toy accross the room & threw herself face down on the floor & screamed hysterically I picked her up thinking she had hurt herself & she hit me & started arching her back! I put her down & she stopped crying & crawled back towards the TV!!! God help me when she is a toddler!!

Night all, off to scrapbook tonight. I will finish a project when I start it!!!!

JODIEwantsanewname · 02/05/2009 07:41

Oh Bebe the fun we have with our children!! Don't stress too much about her diet, DS1 went through this at about this age and the doctor said that as long as he's eating, then thats enough, just keep ofering different things and eventually she'll get there, also, with behaviour, she's just trying to push the boundries, Sam's doing the same, (but with the dog bowls ) I remember this only too well with DS1, it was at about 10 months I decided that I needed to get him in nursery and me back to work, for all our sakes It's never easy is it!

I went to the docs yesterday with Sam and he was being so nice (the doc, not Sam!) and I just broke down everything just came on op of me, I had a letter saying that I wasn't eligible for Job Seekers as I was self employed and didn't qualify I still haven't managed to get a job , I can't seem to shift much weight and feel fat and frumpy, and the boys were both playing me up all day (you know the days when you just end up shouting and saying NO all the time) anyway, he was so lovely and said that it didn't seem like I was depressed, but maybe just highly stressed, so he's made me promise to do 30 mins of excersise 5 times a week, (on my own, rather than at the gym to clear my head) to boost that feel good feeling, and to see him again in a week. I feel so much better for talking to someone 'impartial' IYKWIM, I wish I'd done it sooner

Hope everyone is OK today, we are off to a wedding, I hope the sun keeps shining!

LibrasBiscuitsOfFortune · 02/05/2009 08:29

Morning, I'm NOT broody, mostly because I hate pregnancy and not to fond of the first 6 months but I want more than one DC so when I get back from my girls holiday in June we will start trying for the next one.

bebe - that's horrible for you re:the facebook scam. Please don't think I am being patronising but I'm an IT bod and I was wondering how secure your password is, do you have at least one number, one character and something like a punctuation mark in there as well.

minniemummey - our tv is a flatscreen and just sitting on a little table, one of Alexs favourite targets along with the bleach cupboard (how do they know?) and I was just wondering how other people secured theirs from prying hands.

jodie - did Sam have chickenpox? Hope he is feeling ok. Glad the GP managed to get you to see that you need 'me' time and it's true that exercise makes you feel good and makes you look good. If you are trying to do 30minutes 5 times a week you should come and join us in our coach potato to 5K thread over in Sports and Exercise, I swear it's one of the reasons I am now back to pre-pregnancy weight.

isaidno - I think in many cases vegetarian dishes are tastier than meat, things like veggie lasgna or veggie bolognaise. However bacon on pizza sounds nice as well

bebe - as ling as Phoebe is having milk I don't think you need to worry about her eating tantrums. Saying that we always have Ellas kitchen in the house just incase A isn't feeling well or doesn't want to eat - he always seems to change his mind when he sees one of those little pouches.

Alexander is gorgeous, he is crawling everywhere and is a right little heffalump at 22lbs. No teeth yet and still giving 2 breastfeeds a day as very chuffed with myself as I never thought I would make it to 3 months!

bebejones · 02/05/2009 09:05

Libra - P is the same with Ella's kitchen...how odd! Feel so miffed when I slave in the kitchen for her & she prefers the packet stuff! Apparently the facebook scam was down to them getting into facebook not us & they 'stole' hundreds of identities/details. Password did have letters & numbers in, but have made it much more random, now even I have difficulty remembering it!

P is going to PIL for a few hours so we can move some furniture in the office! Looking forward to finally getting that room sorted, it has been piled with boxes since we cleared the other room that is P's nursery!!

Have a good bank holiday everyone!

ponto · 02/05/2009 20:06

Bebe, your sleepsuit sounds fab, will you take a photo of P in it to show us?

I have just moved Bryony into pyjamas rather than sleepsuits as she will not lie still while I do up the poppers. I can just about get a vest on but that's it. She's back in her sleeping bag too to try to stop her springing to her feet in the cot every time I put her down. So far it seems to be working, she's sleeping 7.30 to 6 or 7 most days now. If only I could make myself go to bed before midnight every night I would feel great!

Jodie, hope you had fun at the wedding. I think you've done really well with the weight you've lost so far, it's much harder the second time around (took me 18 months after dd2). I can't believe it's now May and I now only have 4 months before my brother's wedding in Bali - must lose some weight, though maybe 2 stone is unrealistic now. Have been doing some aerobics classes so that must help.

SK, hope your broody attack is passing!

sweetkitty · 02/05/2009 20:36

Guess what I have gone and done, signed up for the 5k Race for Life I have been wanting to do something for ages, feel so unfit so thought why not? it's not THAT far and it will get me off my lardy bum and doing some exercise, I have a training programme and everything DP has been killing himself laughing at me but supportive too, I just don't DO exercise. I cannot run the length of myself so will have to do some training. So who else is doing it, Jodie and Disney??? DP has signed up for the Loch Ness marathon in October now as London was disappointing for him

Bethany's sleeping has been a nightmare, last two days she has been up for the day at 6am, I do not function before 7am, I do not function on less than 8 hours sleep a night. We have been doing a new kind of routine this week, did I tell you all? Instead of a feed at 10.30am and at 2pm I have been giving her one at 11.45am then putting her to bed which I think is better for her. Of course today she fell asleep in the car coming back from dancing and woke up when we got back total of 20 minutes all day despite my best efforts so by dinnertime she is exhausted and not wanting to eat. Argh!!!! Going to the safari park tomorrow so her sleep will be all over the place again.

ponto - I just bought sleepsuits for B after she has been in pyjamas (presents) she is a nightmare to get ready hates being on her back, I have to sing to her no broodiness has not passed, what am I like

bebejones - about the facebook scam, hope it's all over with now and have a good bank hol too

Librabiscuits - oh how exciting you will be ttc soon, Alexander sounds like a little character and you should feel very proud about the BFing. I might pop by the couch potato to 5K thread too

Jodie - oh you poor thing, don't be so hard on yourself you have so much on your plate right now. Enjoy your wedding.

Oh the TV thing can I admit that we have a huge wall mounted flatscreen thing out old TV blew up and of course DP being a man wanted a plasma thing, I was a bit but TBH it has been the best thing ever, ours used to be in the corner and DD1 was always kissing it, snotting over it and rubbing Weetabix into it, I had to clean it about 6 times a day to see it, now it's up out the way they cannot touch it and all the wires are hidden.

Right have gabbed enough x

bebejones · 03/05/2009 12:10

Ponto - will do a pic when I get the chance, sleepsuits are next size up so are still enormous on P but will do the catalogue thing and put a peg on the back or something!!!
