Hope things are OK Natty. Thinking of you...

Re naps - on non-nursery days Jamlet normally has an early morning one (about 1.5 hours after getting up, so normally about 8 or 8.30!) which will typically be 45 mins to an hour or so, and often one after lunch, which will typically be an hour or hour and half, depending on how long her morning nap was. On nursery days she just has one nap after lunch, of an hour or hour and half.

TheNatty · 06/04/2009 13:50

ok, docs useless.
have sent of for bloods about the anemia, and listened to heartbeat. then said i need to see a midwife about the bleed.
went to book a midwife appointment, 29th APRIL! so DH said its not good enough and we will go hospital when he is home tomorrow.

i think we have a maternal assesment unit? i dont know because ive not lived in this area long but the last hospital i was at had one.
doc says i should have a swab done to rule out infection, and to make sure im not leaking waters or anything (as my discharge has gone up dramtically over the weekend)

baby had good strong heartbeat, my blood pressure is low as usual, (not low low, just my usual lower then average low )

so yeah am home resting now, kids in bed watching a dvd in their room (bad mother) and i should get an hours peace. managed park and library so kids happy, and will go bed tonight hopefllly no problems.

Ohforfoxsake · 06/04/2009 14:19

FFS Natty! That's appalling. That's a whole fucking month! Have you phoned the hospital and asked them about the assessment unit?

Butterfly - YES! I almost peed my pants what I saw an 'OOOOOOoooooooohh fluffy bunny'. This was when I was on my own, in the grounds of a posh hotel

DD1 is in 7th Heaven. We went dress shopping for her, got her 'chips in a bag' (not McDs I hasten to add (KFC )) and is sat infront of High School Musical 3. Day 1 of the holidays going well for one of them at least!

HellHathNoFury · 06/04/2009 14:26

Natty have to agree with Foxy.
I had the same, say it's an emergency and you need to see a midwife.
I feel quite certain that had I not got a bit ranty that I would not have seen them on Friday.

Antenatal services in London beggar belief. I had no idea until I moved here. TBH I honestly wish I hadn't moved. My new nursery is shit, I can't change as they are all fucking full til kingdom come and won't even allow me on the waiting list, the hospital care is shit (well it's good WHEN THEY SEE ME after I have begged and waited for 6 hours), no friends, no trusted babysitters, pretty fucking miserable, bored and lonely actually.

But hey, parking is cheaper, so is the train.

Ohforfoxsake · 06/04/2009 14:28

Natty, that is a fantasic example (not to mention two-fingers up to Babybaby123) of exactly what we were on about on Fury's thread last week.

Good luck. And make some noise about it. I know you can!

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 06/04/2009 14:40

Is Sputnik in Wales? I've been shitting myself all morning since I heard about this on the radio. Is this where she lives?

Hope everyone is well xxx

Sputnik · 06/04/2009 14:42

Incredible they offered you an apt in a month. Definitely go to the hospital tomorrow.

We were woken up last night by the earthquake and all the windows rattling, but nothing worse. It sounds really bad though, with many people dead

HellHathNoFury · 06/04/2009 14:44

babybaby123 - good lord what WAS her problem?

Did she think I was making it up? A troll? a 16 year old? Jaysus. I had heard MN was not nice anymore but honestly, all I wanted was some advice/ideas to keep me going until I went to the bloody GP, I wasn't saying I gave fruit shoots for example Xmas Wink

Actually there was another thread a while back, some woman getting flamed for taking her 3 year old to mcdonalds.

Honestly - wtf? DS goes to mcdonalds occasionally. He gets a toy, he likes the bright lights, the music, and he likes the apple pies. So it's not salt-free fish pie with hidden spinach. Get over it.
AND he was bottle fed.

These women need to get out more.

Sputnik · 06/04/2009 14:44

Oh X posts there Holly.
It's not too far from us, maybe 50 or 60 miles. Apparently here isn't a serious earthquake zone though.

HellHathNoFury · 06/04/2009 14:45

x-post
oh dear, glad you are ok sputnik

HollyPutTheKettleOn · 06/04/2009 14:47

Phew...glad you are ok m'dear! Must have been pretty scary though. I've been worried about you all morning!

Sputnik · 06/04/2009 14:48

What I hate on MN is the sheep mentality that sometimes gets going and everyone lays into the OP. It could easily go the other way. I avoid a lot of threads tbh, and stick to here, little Italy and frivolous threads about books, clothes, houses etc.

Sputnik · 06/04/2009 14:49

Thanks for caring

Sputnik · 06/04/2009 14:50

My parents got around to phoning me around lunchtime!
(to be fair they knew it wasn't here, but peole kept phoning them)

LackaDAISYcal · 06/04/2009 14:53

what's happened to MN...all my settings have gone tits up.

I'm not feeling the love this fine day. Dd driving me nuts, bumble being velcro baby and DS1 is just being...well just being. Did some seed planting this morning and drew a wee plan of what we planted where......then DD came along and attacked the bed with a fork so we have a bed of mixed veg, and won't know what's weed and what's veg when it starts to germinate!

and bumble did his first roll over onto his tummy and I missed it as I was whinging to tech about my settings again

I have a huge knot of anxiety i my tum and feel like screaming.

natty. phone the hospital. they will have a day assessment unit. the number will be on the front of your notes.

earthquake? italy?

Interesting site, I hadn't come across that one.

Doesn't rate my new camera v highly though, hmmm

TALLULAHBELLE · 06/04/2009 15:12

F*k - DH just left for the airport. I am on my own with 3 under 2 for at least the next 2-3 months. F*k.

LittleMissNorty · 06/04/2009 15:17

Bloody hell Tallulah....you're brave!

Must be strange for your DH as well....the DTs will have grown so much by the time he gets home...

You'll be fine (repeat after me....it'll be fine, it'll be fine)

TALLULAHBELLE · 06/04/2009 15:18

Not brave - just stupid I think

LackaDAISYcal · 06/04/2009 15:21

bloddy hell tallulah. Couldn't you just all go with him and had a nice holiday???

talking of which, are you going back to work after your ML?

OP posts:
TALLULAHBELLE · 06/04/2009 15:31

That's a BIG qust Daisy. Was doing some sums based on what would have cost me for CM for DD times 3. Basically would work all week, hand entire wage over to CM (assuming could get one with 3 vacancies)& still owe her around 200 quid. More for nursery. So can't actually afford to work. But if pack it in now, once kids all at school it would be really difficult to get back into teaching. Absolutely no jobs going, not even supply work in the present climate. So in the long term, can't afford not to work. Dilemmas galore.

HellHathNoFury · 06/04/2009 15:37

TB - same problem

HellHathNoFury · 06/04/2009 15:38

with 2 in nursery, I will take home £38 per month.
Childminders in my area cost the same, if not more than nursery.

wtf. And I can't afford NOT to work, DH doesn't earn enough.

LackaDAISYcal · 06/04/2009 15:44

I'm in a similar position T. Full time for DD and DS2 plus wrap around care for DS1 will cost me nearly £18.5K . Quick sums based on my current salary (which has just been cut by 6%) would mean I would be left with less than £80 a week...for doing a really stressful job with the stress of getting them to childminder, nurseries etc and the added stress if I'm held up in traffic etc etc etc. Just not worth it. I can get a part time job in the evenings/weekends on the checkouts at Sainsbos and earn more and not need childcare.
