inzi! Sorry about your grandad and your lab . I don't know why life is so cruel, maybe your grandad is just so nice that the people upstairs want him back? Sorry if that sounds insensetive, was meant to be reassuring?!

Hope your lab is treatable and will be ok. Our dog has a big lump and i'm scared to take her to the vets incase it's bad news

Enjoy your wine...

Inzi honey;so sorry I didnt stay on just a minute longer last night and missed you post It is a terrible thing watching someone you adore pass away, Dal put it beautifully but that doesnt much help those of us who are left behind. It is the hardest thing in the world to let them go and allow them be free of the suffering. As I have said before, it is the opposite side of the scale, the weight of the love is equal to the pain of their loss...all you can do is remember the good times, the laughter and the love and wish them pain free ...(if you manage it whole heartedly you are a better woman than me)(((massive hugs)))))
If you dog has Cushings, it is very treatable. Try not to worry.
And Dal, most lumps are sebacious cysts/ benign fatty lumps etc but best get him checked over and have it tested/removed ..I think the blue cross might have special rates for people in financial constraints if there is one near you.

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 13/08/2009 21:15

Inzi - so sorry about your grandad and the pain you are going through. Life can be cruel and awful but as FT said could only be going through that if you've experienced the love and happiness of knowing your grandad. Hugs to you.

strawberrylace · 14/08/2009 12:54

Inzi - so sorry about your grandad. Hope that you are able to find a way through all the sadness that you are rightly feeling.

TLES - I can't believe that a professional child pyschologist would say those things? It doesn't make sense to me - Only having to do nice things if you're a kid and not having to help at all? That's not going to turn your DS into a well-balanced young man. Bet you are furious

WWAJC - congrats on the new job!

Hello to everyone else! I am so pleased that I am now off work for a couple of weeks! We are not going on holiday as we still have things to do on the extension, but I'm hoping to take DS to the zoo, as he loves animals sooooo much at the moment (each morning he says bye-bye mammals to his toys as he leaves the house). Other than that, hopefully I'll get to see some friends with kids for DS to play with - we've not seen people for a couple of weeks as I've been working full time.

Hope you are all ok xxx

FloriaTosca · 15/08/2009 11:26

Where is everybody?????????????

Hope you have a fab time at the zoo Strawberry..we took Alex to Chester a few months ago and to South Lakes Animal Park last week... he just adores it.

Still working on the B*8$£! garden between showers here ...never going to have a bbq at this rate!

TheLadyEvenstar · 15/08/2009 12:44

FT...you have got to have the BBQ I wanna comeeeeee

OP posts:
WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 15/08/2009 13:17

Strawberry - hope you enjoy your time off and that you get everything done you want to.

FT - hope your garden is coming along nicely despite the showers.

Anya has finally started saying words . She can say 'no' (of course), ball, shoes and door. She can also recognisably sing Baa Baa Black Sheep (ad nauseam), Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Old Macdonald, and Wheels on the Bus. We're getting there slowly .

TheLadyEvenstar · 15/08/2009 13:49

Oh I meant to tell you all Zachary said his first proper sentence yesterday that we could understand. We were in brighton and my sister walked ahead, he stopped in his tracks and shouted "NiNi come back now" and wouldn't move until she did. Not all the words were properly formed but we knew what he was saying lol and it was so cute tbh.

On The front of Karl, well Blake is coming back on Tuesday and apparently going to write a list of rules for Karl....I really feel like a failure but at the end of the day I am doing all I can for him.

Hi all

Inzi(hugs) How have things been the last cpl days? Hope the vet can treat your dog, I wished upon a shooting star for you the other night :~0

LES-the 'specialist' sounds like an idiot, hopefully they'll be a method in his madness, personally I would ask him to explain himself to you in private before you go any futher.

FT-hope the garden gets sorted soon for you, must be getting frustrating now.

Hi to everyone else, Strawberry, WWAJC,Alice, Mine,Dal(hows the ms?)

Shannon has started to climb out of her cot so i had to take the side off last night and she managed to start opening the door and wandering the upstairs, in the end I just left her and she finally went to sleep about 10 then came in with me at 3am, by 5am I was ready to kick her out so put her travel cot up in her room and dumped her in there, she screamed for ages and then when I went in this morning, she'd managed to climb out of her bloody travel cot and was sat on her cot reading Not good as I was out for my birthday(not till 27th) on Fri night and was extremly hung over yesterday. So today, we're going to have to go and try and get her a bed, any ideas with getting her to stay in bed? We're also at a kids party this afternoon and we're all ratty, especially the little pincess.

LisaLessLumpy · 16/08/2009 18:17

Hello ladies, sorry I've been slacking again, just can't seem to keep up at the moment.

Off on my hols tomorrow for two weeks so I will try and catch up and get on more often when I get back.

Ben is also coming on leaps and bounds in his speech,he is far ahead of Sam at this age.

His favourite words at the moment which are also really clear are

apples
orange
nanas (bananas)
gapes (grapes)
horses
trousers
shoes
cars
ball
bubbles
bye bye
night night

He calls daddy (daddies for some reason) whilst I am Mam, usually shouted.

He also keeps bringing his sketch board thing (dunno what its called) one that you draw on with a pen but then clear it by pulling a tab across the bottom? and saying 'Mam, draw car' -I am sick of drawing bleeding cars

He loves to draw (usually on the walls and tables though )and listen to stories, and has now leant to undress himself and wants to put his trousers on all the time but then gets really frustrated because he keeps putting both legs in one side of them

We have sorted the sleep situation since we put the bed guard on, he now pretty much sleeps right the way through again bliss

All in all he is an absolute pleasure to be around and I can't wait till our hols tomorrow. Right I had better go and pack.

Have a good two weeks everyone xx

Dalrymps · 17/08/2009 22:06

Hey ladies,

Floria - Thanks for the blue cross tip, will check it out. I am thinking it probably won't be available in this area as we're so remote but worth looking in to...

Hope the garen is coming along ok.

Strawberry - Hope you're enjoying your time off. Bet you'll have a fab time at the zoo!

WWAJC - Great that Anya is saying lots of words, she must have been saving them all up

LES - So cute that Zachary said his first sentence

Re Karl, you're not a faliure at all, you're doing the best you can!

NC - How's the cot climbing situation? Did you manage to get a bed?

Ms has almost completely gone thank goodness! I do however have the daily indigestion which last most of the day from lunchtime. I also seem to have lost the ability to sleep at night grr, i'm sick of tossing and turning!

LLL - Wow Ben is doing really well with his words

Glad the sleep situation has been sorted.

Have a lovely holiday!

Well got my scan on wed at 2.30 eek eek eek!

masonicpixiesreadthedailymail · 17/08/2009 22:19

hello everyone. Quick squeeze to inzi. So sorry for you. A ginger biscuit to Dal and a breezy wave to everyone else. LLL shurlee I'm the slackest of em all

Wanted to share this with ya t'other week - ds got v v excited at avary at botanical gardens. Pointing excitedly and shrieking 'cock cock cock' Twas the cage of parrots, mackaws and cockatoos so after the initial was pretty impressed. Realised since there's a cockatoo in one of his lift the flap books

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 17/08/2009 22:31

LES - aww at Zach. Hope all goes well tomorrow.

NC - wow at Shannon being able to escape from a travel cot. No advice I'm afraid as we're not likely to have that problem so it will be a while before we change to a bed.

Lisa - enjoy your hols. Ben's talking is very impressive.

Dal - glad the ms has gone and hope the indigestion clears up soon. Good luck for Wed.

Pixie - lol at 'cock'. You weren't in polite company I take it?

I've come down with a cold - can't believe how drained I feel. I've slept the last couple of days while Anya has her afternoon nap. Hopefully it will go soon - nobody else seems to have it yet, which is good.

The bedroom is finally finished and it looks amazing - so glad we got round to doing it in the end.

alicet · 17/08/2009 23:07

Can't believe its been so long since I last posted - sorry ladies!

WWAJC congrats on job! great news!

Inzi so sorry to hear about your grandad and dog. Sending you big hugs xxx

Floria hope the garden is going well!

Can't remember what everyone else has said as I was in a bit of a rush as I want to go to bed - been away with my sister who is over from NZ for the weekend! had a lovely lovely time without the children and it's been ages since we had quality time like that. Just chilled, shopped, ate nice food and drank wine and it was fab! Missed the boys and it was lovely to see them but relaly enjoyed myself.

Oh and I nosed on to the due Aug 2009 thread and saw that Heinz had a dd called Imogen so congrats to you heinz if you are ever on here!

alicet · 17/08/2009 23:08

Oh and good luck Dal on Wed if I don't get the chance to come on before then - my sis is coming up on Wed to sty for a week with her little boy so might be a bit busy before then!

alicet · 18/08/2009 21:49

Hey where are you all? This thread has gone a lot quieter than it used to be! here's hoping it's because you are all having a great time!

Off to bed now (Adam was awake for 1 and a half hours during the night which was a nice welcome home treat for me!) and then my sister is coming tomorrow for a week so probably won't be on here much before then...

Take care lovely ladies and I hope to catch up soon...x

I'm sorry...I've been a bit apathetic and just been reading not posting...mainly because there hasnt been a lot to report but remembering how we used to fill a thread every month and looking how slow this one is going I'm tempted to do a Delia and shout "Come on everyone we must all make an effort" or we will lose each other which would be tragic, so "let's be havin' ya'!" and lets all get chatting again.

Alice great to hear from you...you have been/are being busy! Snap with the 90min wake up last night...4am-5.30! You have my sympathy I at least had the luxury of being able to nap with him at lunch time to make up for it. Fab news about heinz! ahh!...all these new babies ...I want one

dal glad to be of assistance, hope there is one near enough for you.

Inzi How are things honey? It is very quiet from you atm, I hope things are as ok as they can be

WWAJC hope you are feeling better and that the afternoon nap helps

NC Little monkey isn't she? Alex did the same, that is why we took the cot side off. Being in a sleeping bag kept him in bed until last week but he is using sheets and blankets now so trotting in to us at silly o clock most nights, but at least it is only once a night usually (not 2 or 3 ) and when he drops off I put him back in his own bed

We have a difficult week as Dh is in Finland until late Fri so its just my little imp and I, my Mum is in terrible pain with her back and leg (she isnt one to complain and has been suffering rheumatoid arthritis for years without it interferring with her life so it has to be very bad for her to complain)so she isnt coming to do her usual babysitting and keeping me company. Alex talks a great deal now we have the balloon conversation...forgive me if this is repeating myself...it goes
"mummy?"
"yes"
"balloon!"
"what about the balloon?"
"balloon popped!!!"
"yes it has"
"I bit"
"yes you did"
"all gone!"
"so it is"
"mummy? more balloon?"
.....cute until you have had the same convo repeatedly for 20 mins on a long car journey.
We also have "oh good! Walkin' Thane!" when Dh picks up the dogs lead...and "rainin'! quick, quick!" (I think I must be paranoid about getting wet when we go out to the car) and the one my Mum loves is "mummy?, milk! Plea..(se)! Aw right!!!"...but you have to hear the inflection really for it to be amusing.

Really must get off to bed now or I wont be able to cope with his lordship and teaching too.
