LLL- wow! at those bumps

Dal - I drank gallons of gaviscon (even took some into a fliming of a question of sport in a brown paper bag when I was expecting Ollie )) Don't forget you can get the massive bottles on prescription...

WWAJC - Glad Anya had a lovely time at dh's other dd's, always good to have a built in babysitter!

We're all fine here, Tobias was a little unsettled last night and I did the whole night. He fed, 10pm, 1.30am, 2.30am and 5.30am and was fidgity in between so I didn;t have much sleep. Dh really annoyed me as I left him to sleep i our room and came downstairs woth Tobias so as not to disturb him and I still had to wake him in the mornng for work he had 10.30-6.30 and when I did wake him he then started to doze off I got really annoyed as I need to shower before he goes to work as I am keeping my scar extra clean and he was so lethargic I was livid! I think he should set his alarm, get himself out of bed and then make me a cup of tea!!!

I can see much arguing over sleep happening again I remember we had a blazing row when Ollie was little as I was so jealous that the got to sleep for a whole hour in his lunchtime in the car!!!!

Ollie is at my b/f's in Portsmouth so hopefully the weather isn't to bad as he just loves going to the seaside. Does mean I get a day of peace and quiet so I'm off to snooze on the sofa before the next feed.

Love to all
xx

Dalrymps · 27/07/2009 20:01

LLL - Wow at the bumps indeed, they're constantly bashing and bumping themselves these days aren't they? Dylan keeps spinning round till he's dizzy and falling over

WWAJC - Glad the sleep over went well, nice to have that option of a break now and again!

Muppet - Dh got me a bottle of gaviscon double action today. If the indigestion carries on I will get it from the doc though cause i'm not paying for it for 7 months!

Strawberry - House is looking great! Really getting there now!

I've spent the afternoon at mils being looked after whilst she helped me watch ds today. She's such an angel... I felt so crappy, I can't wait to say good riddens to this ms!

FloriaTosca · 27/07/2009 23:59

NC; glad you enjoyed lunch, you were more than welcome. Both your girls are a delight Alex is most enamoured of Shannon (he never kisses like that!!!!)and Rich is lovely! I hope we can repeat it again soon.

Muppet;love the video..Henry is sooo gorgeous!

Dal; hope the gaviscon does the trick...I think the free presription thing comes into effect at 12 weeks so not long now.

LLL; ouch at those shiners!!! Alex has one like Sams on his forehead 2 weeks ago, after a bang at Gym tots followed by a fall down 2 stone steps hitting exactly the same place 2 days later...looks like Arnica will be playing a big part in the future

WWAJC; you are brave letting her sleep over..I can't face that yet. Wow at her "wheels on the bus"! and well done with all the industrious work going on at your place.

Strawberry the house does look fab...nearly there now!

Alice How did everything go? Are you still high as a kite or have you become blase already?

We were supposed to be going to our (shared)caravan in Millom today(morcambe bay/lake district)we rarely use it as the weather is always dreadful (apart from the day we went to view the place of course...that day it was beautifully sunny and the waterskiing lake was like glass..that was 5 yrs ago, we haven't witnessed it like that since)but the bracing sea gale breeze is good for the health and we can't afford anyother sort of holiday this year after paying for the land drains ...but Dhs mates wife only got back from hols with our car this afternoon and the bloke who did our land drains was supposed to come round this morning to view the quick sand like patch in the middle that isnt responding to his treatment...he didnt turn up until 8pm so now it looks like we might have to wait until Weds to go away so we can be here for him to fix it ...
...still at least all the ironing and packing is done now and I got to take A to the petting farm in Bacup and he had a ball!!!!...the farmer was impressed that he knew the name of each species, sign language for each animal and the noise it made (except the rare ones obviously...alpacas, chinchillas and emus aren't exactly common)and I got to fly and eagle owl!!So not too unhappy today despite everything.

We are trying a new trying to get more sleep tack tonight and have taken the side off As' cotbed and replaced it with a safety rail....Dh thinks if he can get out and play with his toys he wont scream for me at 5am and some more.... I have my doubts but Dh feels he never has any input into how we deal with things etc so thought we'd give his ideas a whirl....at least while we are officially on holiday he gets to share the suffering of any consequences equally with me next day [FT wanders off to bed with an evil smirk on her lips]

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 28/07/2009 12:56

Muppet - think you should definitely put your foot down with dh - a morning cuppa is the least you should expect . Hope Ollie enjoyed himself at the seaside.

Dal - glad you got pampered a bit yesterday.

FT - I did miss Anya a bit at bedtime when I saw her bedroom was empty, but given that I was asleep about 30 secs later it didn't bother me for long! Still not had a repeat of 'wheels on the bus' or anything else comprehensible - clearly it was a one-off. Sounds like the petting farm was a success - wow at flying the eagle owl. Hope the trick with Alex's bed worked.

I had an interview this morning - think it went well, nice job, easily fits into part-time hours. Very small firm though and no career progression so I don't know whether I'd be bored in a year's time. Also they want somebody to start really soon and I want to wait and see how this other thing in that new department pans out before I make a decision so that might be difficult. They're going to let me know by the end of the week though, so we'll see.

Waiting with baited breath now for Ikea to ring to say new wardrobes are only an hour away. Can't wait .

Mine · 29/07/2009 20:09

where'd everybody go...............?????

Does anyone have any ideas on what i should get for DS to assist him swimming when we go on holiday later this year..?
I was thinking of one of those swim float suits with the floats attached but its £25 so not sure if its worth it...
I don;t really take him swimming here so i don;t have any experience of it. last year on holiday he was quite content with a ring, but he obviously wasn;t so mobile and independent!
Or shall i just go for the cheap armbands!?!?!?

Dalrymps · 29/07/2009 20:50

I'm here!

Not sure on that one, haven't taken Dylan swimming yet although have been meaning to for ages!

I like the look of those swim suits but not seen one in action iyswim?

Sure one of the other ladies will be along soon with better advice...

WWAJC - Glad the interview went well, hope you manage to come to a decision you're happy with.

Floria - Hope you have a lovely time at the caravan, hope the weather is nice for once too.

Glad Alex enjoyed the petting farm, Dylan loves them!

Very interested to see how your dh's sleeping 'plan' goes

Bee busy today, had my hair highlighted and cut by my mobile hairdresser, looks lovely . The smell of the hair dye was a bit of a struggle to deal with with my ms though.

This aft I had a meeting with my business advisor to show him my leafelt design and get the wheels in motion for my advertising. It went well and he liked my leaflet. Really couldn't be bothered with it today though the way I was feeling, I managed though somehow. I collapsed in a pathetic heap when dh got home and had to have a lie down!

Hi to everyone i've missed, hope you're all well x

Inzi - fab news on the weight lose and are at your shopping for new wardrobe. I am getting a little fed up with just wearing whatever fits at the moment and really want to get beack into some more 'me' clothes.

Dal/Inzi - We took Ollie in a float suit but his swimming teacher (when we enrolled him) said she thought armbands were better as the suits give them a false sense of security and they don't develop bouyancy in that they rely on the suit -if that makes any sense? She said to go for the ring bands (not inflatable) as you can put on as many as you need and then take them off as an when.
Though saying all that if they won't wear them then you're a bit buggered really

Tobias was weiged yesterday and is 10lb 6oz so no wonder his newborn babygrows don't fit him now! Gives me more of an incentive to carry on breastfeeding now as the 2 hourly feeds in the night are worth it with that weight gain. He's on the 75th centile which is where he was when he was born so all is fine. My H/V is so lovely and we had a chat abotu cot death precautions and she saw that Toby sleeps on his tummy and she said was I aware of the precautions and I said yes and she said said well, you're an intelligent woman so it's okay to make your own decisons. I was very [shocked] as my forst health visitor with Ollie made an example out of me at a baby group and told everyone that 'we really SHOULD NOT be putting babies on their tummy to sleep' and making me feel a complete twit. This heklath vistior also said that she thinks a lot of babies would be far more settled if they were on their tummy's too! And no, she's not an old school H/V she's pregnant with her second!

She was pleased with Henry's walking and said we just need to encourage him to try to climb little by little and perhaps try to kick a ball and start to increase his speed into running in the coming months. Just as well the new park has opened then

Had my hair cut and dyed yesterday (I looked really manky!) and it is a lot darker than I first thought and just shorter than befre but with not really a hair 'style' as such. I always seem to come out of the hairdressers disappointed. I did ask for layers and the guy said no it wouldn't suit my hair and that it should all be one length. He said should he straighten it? I said no don't worry I don't have it straight and he said -I'll blow dry it straight then.

I'm not very forward in asking for what I'd like and I never seem to get it right. And then I don't go for months!

FloriaTosca · 30/07/2009 11:27

Briefly...we are still not at the caravan...the engineer is coming to put in extra land drains tomorrow and Dh wants to be here and watch them this time...hopefull we'll be off on Saturday

Mine; our swimming classes had parents simply holding their infants without any bouyancy aids until the los showed signs of confidence in the water (bums up, kicking, blowing bubbles) then added armbands..always in the water so they understand the purpose of them, not in the changing rooms, Alex is fine about his. Have fun.

Inzi; Wow at the weight loss....you deserve the clothes/shoes...

Muppet; brilliant weight gain for Tobias...well done with the bfing and thank heavens for a sensible HV!though I have a feeling Hen wont need encouraging to climb and kick footballs...he'll be up to that sort of mischief in no time

FeelLikeWalkingAway · 30/07/2009 14:28

Hi Ladies I need your help here, i think you will be able to figure out who i am xx

feel so rubbish

FloriaTosca · 30/07/2009 17:50

Tles; I have replied to your post. I hope someone else can help better than I have though.

Dalrymps · 30/07/2009 20:13

Have posted

FeelLikeWalkingAway · 30/07/2009 20:25

Thanks Dal and FT xxx

FloriaTosca · 31/07/2009 14:36

Got to share this...
Dh was reading a book with Alex...there was porcupine in it...Alex kept running around squeaking "Mi,mi,mi,mi!" ... "is that the noise a porcupine makes?" asks Dh.

No, but it is the sound a PONtipine makes from In the night garden!!!!!!

Dalrymps · 31/07/2009 16:23

Ha ha ha Floria, Dylan makes that sound too. Very funny, I suppose the two do sound similar

NeedCoffee · 31/07/2009 17:01

hi all, just posting so i don't lose you, have a whiney shannon sprawled accross me and need to go wash dd1s hair dye off(pretty much same colour has her own, but she kept nagging)

Muppet-Well Done on Tobys weight gain, your doing good with your mummy milk!

Inzi-Wow @ weight loss, even more WOW at all that money on shoes, but you so deserve them!

FT-sorry you haven't managed your hol yet I hope for gorgeous weather and glass smooth water when you finally get there!

Les-not got chance to look but will try later.

Oh ffs go to go , Mummmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeeee is being summoned!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 31/07/2009 21:43

Mine - I don't use anything for Anya when swimming, I just hold her, but I've been thinking I should get something so she can be more independent. No idea what though - so I'm no help whatsoever! Have tried armbands though and Anya hated those.

Dal - haircut sounds lovely, and good news about your leaflet.

Inzi - hope Jane enjoyed the squirrels. Wow at designer shoes - I would love to do that. You deserve it though with your weight loss, that's an amazing achievement.

Muppet - lucky you to find an hv who is so 'normal' - usually they are a complete nightmare. Really glad she's being supportive. Shame about your hairdresser though - have you tried a different one?

FT - cross fingers you get to the caravan tomorrow. Awwww at Alex with the porcupine noise.

LES - read your other thread - think you have good advice there.

Well I presume I didn't get the job as they were going to make a decision today and the agency hasn't phoned - they must be waiting for their first choice to accept. Never mind - they did sort of imply I might be over-qualified. We will see what next week brings.

Bedroom is gradually coming together, although we need to wait a couple of weeks for the extra wardrobe () to be delivered.

alicet · 01/08/2009 14:43

Just a quicky from me and no time at all to catch up on whats been happening in the last month with you lot but I finally have internet access in new house!!!

house is fab - just beginning to feel like it is really my home!

I'll be back later and try and read through what you have all been up to but int the meantime if anyone feels like doing a summary of any major events it would be much appreciated!

Muppet wanted to say hello to you and hope that all is goin well with 3 - Dal has been keeping me posted...

lots of love to you all and see you later...

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 02/08/2009 15:57

Alice - welcome back! Glad you are settling into your new house. Major events (other than Tobias' arrival) - Inzi has reached and beaten her target weight and is buying fab new clothes/shoes. LES was laid low with swine flu. Dal has ms. Henry is walking. I've been made redundant so am a lady of leisure. I'm sure there are others but those are the ones that spring to mind.

Dalrymps · 02/08/2009 21:20

Welcome back alicet! Have to say my updates haven't been up to much of late...

WWAJC has done a pretty good job of updating and i'm having trouble thinking of what else has happened

Erm... strawberrys huose is coming on a treat, WWAJC has been decorating the bedroom and has had to order and extra wadrode for all her clothes , NC went to wales on holiday, LLL had a lovely wedding anniversary party and managed to fit in to her wedding dress -pics on fb i think..., Stefka is away with her dh visiting family for a while, not sure if she's back yet?!, Mine has been busy busy starting her new job and Eren in coming on leaps and bounds, Floria is suposed to be on acaravan holiday now but keeps getting delayed by work on her garden(have you gone yet floria?), Eva's dh doesn't want to talk about another lo yet but she's working on it , pixie's dd had an ear infection, crochet has been busy but managed to access the site from work cause we managed not to swear too much and got through the filters!

Ok so thats quite a bit for you to be getting on with for now.

Hope your new house is fab and you're all settling in nicely

Ah, see there was plenty that I had forgotten.

Inzi - weather's rubbish isn't it - I don't mind it being a bit chilly but the rain's a pain. At least you're going away soon though - imagine that's a long drive for you... lots of nursery rhyme CDs should keep the peace .

We had an appointment with the endocrinologist yesterday - don't know what that is really but they deal with restricted growth conditions, usually growth hormone deficiencies. We had a really long chat with the consultant about whether growth hormone treatment works for achondroplasia. The upshot was that nobody knows - there are studies being done but they are small scale so the results, such as they are, are inconclusive. However there is anecdotal evidence that some children respond very well to it, although there is some debate as to whether any increase in height is carried through into adulthood. But there are no real side-effects and no downside to trying it - other than a daily injection with an epi-pen (sp?) but that's not a huge deal. We're thinking even if it gives her an extra half inch that's going to be a big difference to her. They wouldn't start it until she was 3 and they want to monitor her height closely over the next 12 months but the consultant was quite open-minded about it. I was surprised it's available on the NHS as it's an unlicensed use for growth hormone but he said that's not a problem if he decides there's a clinical need. So a very positive appointment and plenty of time for us to consider it properly.

alicet · 04/08/2009 19:44

Lovely to be back too and glad that you all seem well even though you should have been pining for me!

WWAJC that appointment sounds really positive - nice one! Will you see him again before she is 3?

Dal sorry to hear you have been feeling so sick - bet you regret now saying that you felt worried not feeling sick before it started!!!

Hello to inzi and all the rest!
