Dal - hugs - hope the ms clears up soon. I remember it well.

Muppet - great news on Henry walking - at least you only have to carry Tobias round now . I'm sure Ollie will calm down soon - just making sure he's not forgotten about (as if!)

Anya did a sponsored toddle this morning - she started off really well, it was from the children's centre down the road to the park. Unfortunately the pavement is gravel in places and Anya decided it was absolutely vital that all the stones that had got kicked onto the road were thrown put back on the pavement. So as everybody else was reaching the park with us half way back down the road stopping every two inches, I thought we'd cheat and cross the road and cut across the grass. I did persuade Anya to cross the road but she then decided she needed to pick all the daisies. So in the end it was half sponsored toddle and half sponsored carry.

muppetgirl · 20/07/2009 13:43

WWAJC -Lol at sponsored carry!

Inzi I am with you on the paranoid worrying. I can't help it. Sept supposed to be bad also due to the schools going back.

Now someone slap me!

I made it to the metro centre woo hoo! I had to eat something like every half hour and keep drinking but I did it. The eating lots helped but i'll be as big as a house at this rate! Went to primark, mothercare and ikea, I love ikea!

Muppet - Fantastic news! WELL DONE HENRY!!! , we need the link! .

Hope the boys settle back in to their routine quickly

WWAJC - lol at Anyas sponsered toddle/carry/stone tidy/daisy picking sounds like she enjoyed it!

I am becoming more adn more paraniod about swine flu! Was making sure I didn't brush past anyone in the metro centre today and washing/wiping my hands a lot . There's a lot of scary guidelines for pg women now, i'm almost scared to go out!

I think I am also in need of a slap. Here's another for you inzi , oh and a little one for muppet

strawberrylace · 20/07/2009 21:38

Hello everyone!
Hope you are all ok
Dal - glad you got to go to Ikea, i'm planning a trip there when I'm off work at teh end of August to get some bits and pieces for our revamped house
Muppet - that's so cool about Henry walking. And Tobias putting on weight nicely
WWAJC - love the sponsored carry story...
NC - i would've ordered pizza too - which has made me think how much I could eat a pizza right now!
Inzi and everyone - I don't the media are helping to reduce everyone's fears of swine flu. My personal view is I'm probably gonna get it really soon as I spend too much time out and about with people! I did buy some extra hand gel the other day to put in my bag - but now I can't remember where I put it...

Hello to everyone I've forgotten. Life here is pretty much just painting and DIY and work. At least I've been able to move the kitchen out of the living room and into the new kitchen. Still a bit to do to finish the kitchen and the bathroom and downstairs toilet need installing. We have a deadline of 1st Oct to get everything finished in time for the Strawberry household birthday celebrations, so fingers crossed....

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 21/07/2009 10:22

Inzi - I'm torn between trying to ignore the news on swine flu (because I know that they want to make a good story out of it) and trying to get all the information I can (so I can make an informed decision on what to do). From what I've seen it's pretty much the same as ordinary flu so I'm not worrying yet. The media are brilliant at blowing medical stories out of all proportion.

Dal - glad you got out shopping.

Strawberry - well done with getting the kitchen back in the kitchen (). Sounds like you're on track to getting it all done - will be lovely when it's all finished.

FloriaTosca · 21/07/2009 14:00

Muppet; woo hoo Henry!!!!!! Great that Tobias is doing so well too.

DAl; well done on getting out despite the ms.

Strawberry; congrats on the new and now full equipped kitchen ... hope the bathroom/loo dont cause any trouble....we have still not quite finished our shower room

WWAJC; lol at your sponsored toddler carry..great idea though.

In case you are wondering where I have been; Dh played knight in shining armour all weekend; his best mate/work collegue was admitted to hosp on Thurs with severe cellulitis(sp?) but insisted that his wife take the kids to Ireland on holiday on saturday as planned. She phones half way to the ferry in Stranraer at 9.30am Sat morning...the clutch on the company car had died ... at 10am Dh drove to the lake district in our company car, gave it to her (we are all covered on the same insurance), packed her on her way (she made it to the ferry in time) and only then discovered that the company fleet manager had let the breakdown cover lapse on that car 5 days before!!!!! ... so he had to arrange for the RAC to tow it to Penrith, got the train to Manchester airport (near head office)where he picked up a hire car, he got home at 6pm!! ..... cost so far; £100 towing fee off the motorway, approx. £600 for the clutch (on a car that is being replaced in 4 weeks), £50 train ticket, a whole day of our weekend plus however much Avis charge for the hire car until the repair is done and someone can go to Penrith to pick it up!!!!!!!.....the fleetmanagers head should roll!!!!.....Whatwas I doing during all this? I was operations manager, finding phone numbers, train timetables, hiring cars and twiddling my thumbs wondering what happened to our "family" day after Dh had been away for 2 weeks?
We spent Sunday catching up on household things and visiting his mate in hospital(left Alex at mils...dont want him exposed to any unnecessary germs)....poor love has it really bad...they think it might have started from an insect bite at Manchester Airport last Tuesday but it was a very virulent infection that caused the trauma surgeon to say the F word twice!!and tell him it was lucky he got treatment so quickly or he could have lost his leg or even his life!!!!...they have been poring intravenouss antibiotics into him and threatening an operation but yesterday the abs finally started to work and they think he may only need skin grafts when the infection is finally beaten......
..up shot is, after 2 weeks away, we saw very little of Dh over the weekend and now he has flown off to Germany ....

muppetgirl · 21/07/2009 18:00

oh Floria though on the flip side I would love to have your dh as a friend

Mine · 21/07/2009 22:38

hello everyone,

it looks like i have missed soo much.
DAL - congrats to you and your DH!! i am so envious. I wish i was ready for number 2 but maybe next year for us. Its not a good time right now.

Muppet - congrats to you and your family too! Tobias looks gorgeous. You are truly blessed with a beautiful family. I can;t believe your inlaws let you down so much. I would have lost my patience with them a long time ago so you are good for keeping so level headed about it all.

Inzi - seen the photos of the new you on FB.... goodness me you look amazing You have a lot more determination than i do for not eating solid food for 5 months

FT - your dh certainly is a knight in shining armour

WWJC - glad to hear you told your old bosses to stuff their job. Sounds like you were destined for bigger and better things.

Needcoffee..... how 's the holiday??

LES - can not believe you got swine flu. How are you feeling now??

I can;t keep up with you guys anymore! the rest has just fallen our of my head

News from me.... too much to tell! I started my new job about 6 weeks ago. Its been a huge learning curve, but i;m finally getting to grips with things. Eren is loving spending more time with his dad and grandparents.
his behaviour has certainly changed. He has more frequent tantrums, is clingy too, but thats just part of the adjustment to me going back to work full time.

On the plus side, he has developed leaps and bounds. His vocabulary is growing by the minute. He is addicted to Peppa Pig, Hi 5 and Telletubies
He loves to help me cook in the kitchen, insisting on helping stir, taste and also to help lay the table!!
Don;t you just love having a mini maid you don;t have to pay

My sister got married at the weekend. It was emotional and amazing. I can;t believe my little sister is actually married !

Anyway, enough babbling from me. i will try to come on more often so you don;t forget about me

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 22/07/2009 19:46

FT - your dh is a hero but sorry you didn't get to spend any time with him before he jetted off again. Hope he gets recognition at work for his efforts - the fleet manager should take you both out for dinner.

Inzi - hope the weather turns for you soon and you can get out and about. Have you tried playing with the rain cover as a 'tent' indoors? It might help Jane get used to it. Alice doesn't have web access except at work now until she's moved so she can't get on here much.

Mine - lovely to hear from you. Glad you are enjoying your new job and that Eren is doing so well. Don't leave it so long next time .

Have applied for 2 jobs today and I'm seeing that firm (the one I've already seen) again in 2 weeks. Slow progress - one of the jobs won't do anything for a couple of weeks as the bosses are in the US until then - but it's nice to know that things are out there. I'm not sure how many others I'm competing with though for part-time jobs.

So my dd who can't say a word other than 'no' came out with something quite coherent today - the first verse of 'wheels on the bus' ! I sang it to her after her bath and she joined in - she got all the vowels, quite a few of the consonants and it was spot on in tune and in time! She only did it once - for the other verses she only joined in on "all day long" - and then she refused point blank to sing it again. DH didn't hear it and was very sceptical (both of us singing it to her in the kitchen with her grinning silently and me going "no, honestly, she really did do it").

muppetgirl · 24/07/2009 09:48

WWAJC - that was what it was like with Ollie, he said nothing till 2 and then suddenly came out with sentences!!
Henry, on the other hand, won't stop 'talking' and most of it is jibberish (but very cute)

Mine -Lovely to hear from you! Glad the job is going well and Eren is loving spending more time with his daddy and GP's, sorry about the clingy stage, it's hard but it honestly does get better x

Am tired today as dh had an early meeting and couldn't help last night so Tobias fed at 9pm, 12.45am (not bad) 2am and 3.30am then 6am so are knackered. Really tempted to formula to get more sleep but wanted to b/f for as long as possible due to swine flu but with the boys full on in the day I don't get a chance to catch up on sleep. Tobias does sleep longer on formula...

Loving Henry pointing at my breast and saying boo (boob) and mil (mil) and Ollie asking, 'so how exactly does Tobias get the milk out??' Lovely they're both involved and interested (When I undressed Henry last night he pointed at his own nipple and said boo, Mil! Which was very cute ) but I can't figure how on earth I'm ever going to get out with them all!!

C-section scar is sore today and red at one end and weeping a little so I've made an app to get it checked as I didn't want to leave it another 2 dasy over the weekend.

My friend had her lo on Monday and is at home now and her 5 year old said to his Granny that his baby brother was here as her life was nearly over and some people have to die to make way for the babies or else we'll all fall off the land as there isn't enough room Good grief I though Ollie was direct!!

Love to all

xx

NeedCoffee · 24/07/2009 19:03

Hi all!

Just popping in quickly inbetween doing washing, making tea and getting girls ready for bed.

Had a pretty good hol apart from the rain, saw a lot of sights.

Had lunch at FTs today and it was gorgeous!, homemade quiche, pastas, potato salad, olives(that Shannon loves!) and yummy rocky road cake and profiteroles! The girls loved playing with Alex, Shannon especially his fab sit on train and Leonie with her endless questions to FT. Rich is very impressed with Alex at how forward he is and says that Shannon is lazy lol.

I was so stuffed I could hardly eat anything for tea, unfortunately didn't make it to meet WWAJC(big apologies WWAJC!) as we thought it was best to get home to avoid rush hour traffic, but need to definately get a meet up sorted out.

Muppet-hope Olly settles down soon and Tobias has big feeds so you can get more sleep. WELL DONE Henry for walking!

Inzi-well done on the weight loss, am very jealous. Enjoy getting back into the good stuff!

Dal-poor you with the MS, hope it clears up soon, how far on are you now?

WWAJC-pmsl @ the sponsored toddle, that is so cute her putting everything back-she's going to be an engineer lol

Hi to everyone else, Mine, LLL, Alice, Crochet etc, have to go and stop Leonie and Rich fighting over the fake Wii that Leonie got for christmas and they have only just opened xx

Dalrymps · 24/07/2009 21:57

Hey ladies,

Strawberry - Hope the DIY is finshed soon and you can marvel at the result

Floria - Sorry you missed out on a day with your dh. As muppet says he must make a great friend!

Hope your friend is getting better...

Inzi - Lol at you deleting my slap .

Dylan likes to stick his hands out the side of his rain cover but hasn't managed to pull it off yet.

Hope you're enjoying eating again

Mine - Great to hear from you! Glad the jo is going ok.

Sounds like Eren is really coming on! Wish Dylan would help lay the table! Dylan's vocab is growing by the day too... so funny hearing him atempt new words, we had orange today - Onge!

WWAJC - Thats so sweet Anya was singing , why do they never repeat things on demand?!

Muppet - Hope you catch up on sleep soon.. So sweet Henry was saying 'mil' and 'boo'

at your friends 5 year old!

NC - Glad you had a nice break and saw lots of sights. at your dinner at FT's, sounds amazing!

I'm 8 weeks now, the ms seems to have been replaced by awful acid indigestion the past few days , groan. I've taken gaviscon tablets, rennie dual action tablets, milk and mints... Make it go away!

Hi to everyone i've missed x

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 25/07/2009 10:28

Muppet - rofl at your friend's ds telling his gran she had to die soon - I hope she took it well! Hope Tobias starts sleeping longer for you soon.

NC & FT - at not being able to join you both for lunch. We will have to organise another get-together soon.

Dal - hope the indigestion clears up soon - glad the ms has gone though.

Well we are starting work on our bedroom this weekend, although dh has already taken down most of the old units over the last couple of days. There's more decorating to be done than we thought as the existing wallpaper that we were going to paint over didn't go all the way behind the old wardrobes. All clothes are now piled up on the desk in the office so it's impossible to find anything to wear - luckily I'm not going to need much except scruffy t-shirt and jeans for the next few days .

muppetgirl · 26/07/2009 08:02

Hi all

here's a link to Henry walking!!

here

Dalrymps · 26/07/2009 09:05

Brilliant video Muppet! What a clever boy!

strawberrylace · 26/07/2009 13:09

Hello everyone
Just stopping by in a painting-lull (checking the weather to see if it's worth me making a start on painting the outside walls...) Have up-loaded progress photos on FB

Muppet - go Henry go!
WWAJC - many sympathies on the decorating chaos front. It always seems like such a good idea before you start...
Dal - ask your doc or midwife for gaviscon on prescription - its free for you now, and it's real good thick stuff, better than you can buy in the shop. I wish i'd known this when I was first pregnant with DS cos i used to get bad indigestion too. hope it goes soon!
NC - glad you had a good holiday - lunch at FT's sounds heavenly
Mine - glad the new job is going well
Inzi - my top tip for low fat/carb cooking is stir-fry - lots of veggies and bean sprouts wih a bit of soy sauce, no rice or noodles - v filling and tasty. I am catching you up as have lost 3 stone now, but you have far more will-power than me to do the whole lighter life thing - i could only manage 3 weeks!
FT - I hope that when your DH gets home next he manages to stay there with you for a few days! what a lovely man tho

Ok, break over now, back to the painting i think! Hello to everyone i haven't mentioned, hope you are all well x

NeedCoffee · 26/07/2009 16:04

fab video Muppet

muppetgirl · 26/07/2009 19:09

Thanks all, I am so relieved and proud he finally got there! He seems to be improving all the time too and doesn't stagger like a drunk teenager!

xx

LisaLessLumpy · 27/07/2009 08:03

Great video Muppet, you must be so relieved, YAY Henry

Dal - sorry you are suffering from heartburn etc. I suffered terribly from it and its the main reason I wouldn't try for a third, had it bad both times. I'm afraid to say that in my case nothing helped and that stuff from the docs used to make me gag too. I got through an awful lot of the rennee fruit tablets as I couldn't stand the mint ones I hope don't suffer too badly.

FT - What a sweetie your dear husband is, its something mine would do too, shame you missed out on your weekend with him though How is his friend now?

Strawberry - Well done on all your decorating, I swore blind after painting all the rooms in the house we are in now that I would never do it again, so far I'm keeping to that promise

We are all just plodding on as normal. Had a bad weekend accident wise, Sam fell over and hit his head on the tiled floor on friday night, a very large bump ensued here

and last night Ben fell off the sofa and hit his head 'again' on the coffee table, this time his eye here

Ben is becoming a right little character and his vocab is coming on leaps and bounds at the moment, his favourite words at the moment are horse, apples, bye bye and see ya

On Saturday we went to Warwick Castle and it was brilliant, I definitely recommend it and will be loading some pics into fb shortly.

No other real news to report other than we put a bed guard on Bens bed on Saturday night. Not sure whether its coincidence or not but the past two nights have been the best sleep wise since we put him in the bed.

Love to you all x

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 27/07/2009 10:26

Muppet - hurray Henry! Great video.

Strawberry - saw your photos on fb - kitchen looks fab.

LLL - poor Sam and Ben - hope they're getting lots of sympathy .

Anya had a sleep-over last night at dh's other dd's. Apparently she was really good and slept all night so she'll be going there again . I did miss her but it was wonderful to have an uninterrupted night's sleep. Today we are painting the bedroom (verrrrry slowly as we've still got half of the furniture in there) - new wardrobes get delivered tomorrow afternoon. Can't wait until it's all finished.
