Woooozle100 · 13/07/2009 20:22

hello all

inzi - you look fantastic. Oh and bolleaux to the folk piling in to judge on t'other threads. Mine don't eat meat either. I chimed in on one of the threads somewhere

FT - Eeek I did that with the swim nappy With dd. Worse was that I was at a baby group.. can't believe I was so dense to think it'd be alright for a bit

WWAJC - good luck with clearing out yr junk. We've recently done that. Tis very liberating to be not breathing in clutter

muppet - you take it easy lady! Am raising me glass of pimms to you now. Lovely pics on fb. Yr sleeping situation sounds v good. Hope the bf is going better. Ditto everyone's advice to seek advice off bf counsellor.

No one has come to look at our house yet. Our tidy, immaculate showhome no less. Dunno how long we can keep this up! Anyone looking to relocate to Brum?

Dal -hope yr keeping ok. I absolutely detest the first trimester. Hope it all passes smoothly and quickly for you

NC - how are the mornings going now? Joel is 6 am on the nose most days (tried to sneak in a 5.45 t'other morning. No chance fella!) My dh gets up early for work so he tends to deal with him but also think its helped to cement J's tendency to rise so painfully early.

LES - hope yr feeling better. Bit confused about all things swine flu at mo. Phoncall off nurse at dd's school last week giving us the option of keeping her off (1 case in senior school) We decided to send her cos can't see how we can keep her in a bubble (and I work in hossie and its quite rife there. I'm hardly in position to avoid work)

Anyway - she had bad temp on thurs / fri so kept her off on fri and took her the docs. Her ears smelt just rancid so was pretty sure twas ear infection not the plague. School phoned later and said they wanted to kee all vulnerable kids (that'll be most ythe kids in the sn school then) off at least till following thurs. Then today have had 2 calls saying she can go back dd is getting better (has been on ab) but generally goes a bit weird metabolically after any illness so we tend to kee her off anyway. Plus child in her class now on tamiflu so reckon I am going to leave it for now.

Oh Les - weas yr ds's class garden on the hampton court tv prog on friday?

Got the task now of doing dh's projected income for mortgage.. Oh Jubilee!

FloriaTosca · 13/07/2009 23:23

Briefly..its late I'm tired

NC; I jsut love reading your possed posts! Want to pop in to manchester/lancashire on your travels?

Muppet; just can't believe your pils! How did they produce someone as lovely as your dh? Hope the feeding is improving with the better positioning

Pixie; good to hear Joel at least has a routine for mornings...hope the housing market picks up for you quickly and hope your DD recovers quickly

I just had a weekend of madly trying to clean the house for visitation of old pal who has been living in Italy for 10 yrs (she's a domestic godess of the highest order and I didnt want to blush at the state of my home in her presence)...we had a fab afternoon of reminicing and laughing and A was absolutely entrance by her...need her to visit more often because he miraculously SLEPT! from 7.45pm-5.00am! and then went back off after a feed until 7am!!!!! Never before...and knowing him polly never again (until he's 14)...but 'twas amazing!!!!! And this morning we went to pick up Dh from the airport[joyous emoticon]...and A was soooooo thrilled to see his daddy again...he ran to greet him squealing and just hugged him for absolutely ages...it was beautiful....I cried

FloriaTosca · 13/07/2009 23:25

'polly' is supposed to be 'prolly'...should just have said 'probably' properly in the first place

NeedCoffee · 14/07/2009 09:43

Awww FT-I got tears in my eyes at the thought of Alex seeing his Daddy, that is so lovely [sniff]

A pop in sounds lovely, will ask Rich if its possible, I'm not sure exactly where we're staying as hew booked them, will let you know

Pixie-what a mess about with the school, hope DD is ok

Dal-you should have told us about the HV, I hate to think you'vve been suffering over her, we could have given you some support

am off to shop today, DD1s grandma is having Shannon for me because she hasn't seen her for a while.

Have a good day all xx

FloriaTosca · 14/07/2009 10:16

.... meant to say last night but was too tired to write...
Thanks to those who asked about the swim nappy incident...fortunately it was one of his dry nights..he woke at 5 am shouting "tock!"('toilet' to the uninitiated) and after using the loo I popped on a training nappy and he went back to sleep for an hour[relieved emoticon]

...also.. embarassed to admit it... but incident of the week for us was that A. ran round a piece of equipment at gym tots on Thurs, I followed too slowly because he came back rubbing his forehead tearfully saying "head! bump!"... and there was a lump with a bruise forming already! But he didnt want to go home, just let one of the mums (an off duty nurse) look at him and carried on playing...I kicked myself for not watching closer but then on Saturday, we went to pils for dinner, A. ran out of the door into the garden while I was taking my cardi off and promptly fell down 2 stone steps hitting exactly the same place as before!!!..cue lots of screaming (grandmother and aunt as much as A!)... trying to apply an ice-filled towel to the duck egg sized black lump that appeared instantly!...and lots of discussion as to whether a trip to A&E was sensible. He had a comfort bf and a spoon of calpol but showed no sign of sleepiness, wobbliness or problems with vision ...he ate his dinner happily enough and didnt want to sleep until the usual time but... twice in 3 days!!!! ...I felt/feel like the most negligent mother ever!!!!...

NC...hope you are coming near-ish..we can ask WWAJC to join us...have a lovely shopping spree

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 14/07/2009 11:03

NC - hope you enjoy your weekend away and that the girls and Rich behave themselves

Pixie - hope you get some good luck with the house soon.

FT - glad you enjoyed having your friend visit. Lovely picture of Alex seeing daddy at airport. Glad A was ok after his bumps - it happens to all of us. I was playing with Anya on the floor this morning when she just randomly fell over and smacked her mouth on the coffee table - she now has a fat lip and can't drink because it hurts . She's having an early nap so hopefully it will be less painful this afternoon.

muppetgirl · 14/07/2009 11:51

HI all

feeding going well now, I think expressing really helped give my nips a well earned break after being chewed for most of last week! It slightly hurts when he latches but then is fine. The sleeping seems also okay Dh gets home around 7.30ish and we have tea together and then I go to bed between 8-9. He gives Tobias a bottle at 10 and then brings them both up to bed. I then do the next feed which seems to be around 2-3 and I come downstairs and feed and then stay downstairs. He then feeds around 6am ish. We are both getting sleep, dh gets some 'Toby time' to himself where he can feed him and change nappy/cuddle and it's only for a few weeks hopefully. When the boys get back at the weekend we are going to keep the same nightime routine as it doesn't really effect them as they're both in bed around 6-7.

Going to start using the sling at the weekend and can't wait as he's a very cuddly boy

WWAJC - thanks for the link the humanist idea is something I'd be really interested in.

Pixie - difficult dilema for dd seeing as you work in a hospital! Really hope she doesn't get it.

NC - wishing you luck on your epic journey. I think an Ipod turned up LOUD is what you need!

muppetgirl · 14/07/2009 11:57

Floria - poor you and Alex! WWAJC is right though it does happen to us all x
I remember when Henry tried to climb the stairs and managed 2 but then fell down them onto the hard hall floor. Cue a bump on one side of his head and a black eye on the other. He looked awful and I had to go and join the library that afternoon and the older woman filling in the forms did keep looking at him...

NeedCoffee · 15/07/2009 13:02

hi everyone

FT-the average cruising toddler falls 38 times a day, so don't worry about it

Rich has said we're at Wolverhampton next Thurs night, so could maybe have a mini meet up on the Fri if thats any good to you and WWAJC?
Muppet-Glad feeding is going better, it sounds like you're really enjoying Toby which is really nice

FloriaTosca · 15/07/2009 14:01

NC. I'm working next Fri afternoon and evening 2.00-6.00pm but if you can come in the morning I'll do something for lunch. WWAJC you up for it?

NeedCoffee · 15/07/2009 14:51

FT-that should be ok i think which side of Manchester is it please?

NeedCoffee · 15/07/2009 17:24

for Dal and Inzi and any more nosys that want to know what the secret is...I've boooked to fly to Belfast for 2 nights next Feb, £1 each way at Ryanair, there are other places too and it ends tonight in case anyones interested, £20 handling fee though.

LisaLessLumpy · 15/07/2009 19:47

Hello ladies, will catch up soon, just thought you might like to read this, a friend sent it to me

A man came home from work and found his three children outside, still in their pajamas, playing in the mud, with empty food boxes and wrappers strewn all around the front yard.

The door of his wife's car was open, as was the front door to the house and there was no sign of the dog.

Proceeding into the hall, he found the coat hanger been knocked over, and the throw rug was wadded against one wall.

In the front room the TV was blaring a cartoon channel, and the family room was strewn with toys and various items of clothing.

In the kitchen, dishes filled the sink, breakfast food was spilled on the counter, and the fridge door was wide open.

Dog food was spilled all over the floor, a broken glass lay under the table, and a small pile of sand was spread by the back door.

He quickly headed up the stairs, stepping over toys and more piles of clothes, looking for his wife.

He was worried she might be ill, or that something serious had happened.

He was met with a small trickle of water as it made its way out the bathroom door.

As he peered inside he found wet towels, scummy soap and more toys strewn over the floor..

Miles of toilet paper lay in a heap and toothpaste had been smeared over the mirror and walls..

As he rushed to the bedroom, he found his wife still curled up in the bed in her pajamas, reading a novel.

She looked up at him, smiled, and asked how his day went.

He looked at her bewildered and asked, 'What happened here today?'

She again smiled and answered, 'You know every day when you come home from work and you ask me what in the world I do all day?'

'Yes,' was his incredulous reply.

She answered, 'Well, today I didn't do it.'

FloriaTosca · 15/07/2009 20:19

NC;North...very north, J18 on the M60 is the turn off for the M66 and we are 15 mins drive up that....I'd cancel teaching that afternoon if I could, but I'm taking the following week off to turf the garden (and get my first 'break' since xmas!)

LLL; rofl!!!! utterly brilliant...I need to copy it, frame it and hang it in a prominent place so as to be in dhs view the moment he comes through the door!

Nice little image for you all to share;todays trick from Alex is to strip himself stark naked and strut up and down the living room pushing his teddy in its pram and pulling in his tummy....utterly hysterical!....wish I could video it without being accused of perversion

TheLadyEvenstar · 15/07/2009 21:23

Hi All,

News in TLES household.

we are moving on the 27th another 2 bed private letting but this one has a garden woohoo.
We all had pig flu except Grant who it totally skipped GRRRRRR I on the other hand was so ill i thought my head was going to fall off.

Karl finishes school on Friday and starts secondary in September...am so sad my baby is growing up (yes I know i have Zachary but Karl will always be my baby)

I finally met my niece and nephew (my half brothers children pic of Karl and Jake my nephew on my profile)

Zachary is still sleeping wonderfully, is nowehere near ready to potty train, not that I am in any hurry, i did all my hurrying with karl, I am enjoying Zachary lol.

Today I had the most frightening experience ever, I was alone with Zachary who was asleep took a gulp of pepsi from bottle and it felt like it was stuck in my throat.Next thing i could feel and see my whole body convulsing, my legs were going crazy and what brought me out of it was my shoe (flip flop) slapping the floor as it flew off my foot. It was so scary, am off to drs in morning as NHS direct want him to investigate it, although they think, from what I have described, that basically what happened is the gas in pepsi caused a sort of air lock which made me pass out and as it started to release it caused my body to convusle.....very scary.

Yes Karls class were on Hampton court flower show....dare y'all to see if you can see him on the video LMAO.....

Muppet, Tobias Is GORGEOUS sorry it has taken me so long to say it!

Oh get this the class teacher and 1 ta at karls school have decided when yr6 (karls class) leave on friday they are going to have the whole school in the playground to clap them out.....into the street where they have arranged for police to be to escort them away from the building as they fear they may come back with weapons and missiles FFS THEY ARE 10 AND 11 YR OLDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
NeedCoffee · 15/07/2009 22:18

LLL-That's fab, definately needs printing out I think.

FT-will ask him when I see him, I 'm sure it'll be okay, provided that We're up and ready in time to make it worth while, I think it'll take about 2 hours from where we're staying not taking into account any traffic, so hopefully we could be with you for 10-10.30? Will send you my number on FB

Rofl @ Alex parading, I think it'd be a crime not to get it on video for when he's 18, Classic!

LES-great news about the house, sorry to hear you've all been ill, how where the boys with it?
Scary about the fit thing, def get it checked out.

Bit OTT what the school are doing, but tbh from what I've heard off you about some of the kids in that class, it may not be a bad thing to be so precautionary, maybe teachers have heard things being planned on the grapevine?

Well, I've nearly finished packing, I hate packing, it nearly makes me not want to go anywhere, all that stupid ironing...

Dalrymps · 15/07/2009 23:06

Hey ladies,

Muppet - Glad the feeding is going a bit better. How is Tobias doing? You recovering ok?

My due date will be March 5th nice time of year... Ooh, I hope I have a boy now too if i'm gonna get all your lovely stuff

WWAJC - I would love to go go ikea, not been for ages and we really need to declutter! Hope Anyas lip is a bit better now.

NC -Hope all your packing is done now, hope you enjoy your holiday . Sorry I didn't mention the HV thing, was just an ongoing inssue that kind of built up over time till i'd had enough!

Ooh Belfast, very exciting!

Pixie - Great to hear from you! Is dd feeling a bit better now?

Floria - Glad you had a great time with your fried, even better Alex slept so well afterwards! Thr image of Alex meeting up with his dada again is soooo lovley!. Sorry he had 2 scary accidents in a short space of time, it wasn't your fault, they're so quick some times you have to be superhuman. Hopefully it'll mean he's a bit more cautious in future, although thinking of Dylan maybe not

The image of Alex strutting round starkers is hillarious indeed LOL

I was making him some juice in the kitchen the other day and he wandered into the lounge. He sounded a bit quiet so I went in to find him kneeling on the very back corner of the sofa right on the top! He had one knee on the table of the same height and on on the sofa. I dread to think of the many ways he could have fallen if I hadn't come through at that moment.

LLL - Love it, our house would definately look like that if I didn't follow Dylan round all day!

Les - Glad you're feeling better now.

Hope the move goes ok, will be great to have a garden.

Did you know i'm preggers by the way? Not sure if you'd read it cause you've been away a while

Well the morning sickness continues. I did wish for it to be reassured I was actually pg but now i'm just sick of it, literally! I haven't actually been sick but I don't know whats worse, constantly feeling like i'm going to be or just being sick? Have completely gone off chocolate . Lucky for bab i'm only able to stomach mostly healthy things like fruit and veg and homous on pittas etc. Sparking water is a favourite too. I did however today have to eat a crisp and marmite sandwich to stop me vomiting

7 weeks on fri, eek, counting the days down till 12 weeks!

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 16/07/2009 19:46

Muppet - glad the feeding is going better and that you have settled into a routine. Hope it keeps working when the O & H get back.

NC - at toddlers falling 38 times a day - sounds about right! Grrr to next Friday - I've booked and paid for a Jo Jingles session at 11:00, so we've only got the afternoon really. You could see FT and then come to ours after she's fed you lunch ? - you pretty much have to pass us to go back south again from FT.

LLL - although of course I have a home-hubby so it should be him framing that for me!

FT - love that image of Alex. Definitely one for the scrap book if you can manage it.

LES - good news about you moving. about the reaction to the pepsi - hope doc gave you the all clear.

I have finally put my claim in for DLA for Anya - I didn't even know until recently that we would be eligible but I've managed to get some stuff from an achondroplasia forum that goes through exactly how to fill it in. I'm usually good with forms but the questions are so vague and you really need insider knowledge as to exactly what wording you need to use in your answers to get into the right banding. It's taken me hours this week but it finally went in the post today - hurray!

muppetgirl · 17/07/2009 19:01

WWAJC - great news re the possible DLA. Annoying that the questions are so vague and it's a shame you have to get insider knowledge in order to put the 'right' thing down.

LLL- Your party looked fab!

Tles - Hope your emotional day went okay, I think it'll be great for Karl to have a fresh start at a new school - did you ever get to see the Head and discuss the teacher who singled Karl out? Hope you did x

The shift sleeping has really worked and both dh and I are getting a good amount so far. Tobias has put on 7oz's in 6 days so he's doing well and that's breast feeding with 1 bottle of formula so I'm relieved to know the feeding is fine.

Dh is going to get Ollie and Hen tomorrow morning and I can't wait for them to get back. I think that's when it'll get tiring but it'll just be great to have them back.

Tobias has just done themost enormous fart!!!! He is such a windy boy but at least he gets it out!!!

love to all
xx

FloriaTosca · 18/07/2009 17:10

WWAJC; glad you have help with the forms...a word her and there makes an immense difference in these cases. Sorry you cant make lunch next fri. How are things going on the job front?

Muppet; Hope the boys have a joyous home coming. Thrilled to hear Tobias is doing so well..lol about farting....thats something the older boys will find funny too!

Tles; I hope karl had a lovely last day. My mil just described my nephews last day to me and had me in tears! Having said that a pupil was describing her daughters leaving year 2 ...teacher had taked photos of each of them on their 1st day with her and again on their penultimate day, stuck them on cards with "this is how you came to me... and now you're ready for year 3!"...and that had me well up ... you know if I didnt have a coil in and wasnt on my period I'd swear I was pg!

NeedCoffee · 18/07/2009 22:06

Hi all, got the laptop againstthe window cos its a really low signal, having fun in Wales, but broke down in the hills today, had to wait nearly 3 hrs for AA, for the man to tell us it was the air con belt that'd snapped and wouldn't hinder the driving! we ordered a pizza delivery to the car

WWAJC- can you get my number of FT and text me your addy pls, as i'm struggling to get onto email or fb and i don't know what exactly we'll be doing-think we'd planned to go to the trafford centre, god knows why with a full boot of mucky hol clothes.

Muppet-hope things keep running smoothly when the boys get back.

going now as armsaching, holding laptop and typing, love to all! x

Muppet - hope you've enjoyed your weekend at home with all the boys.

FT - still waiting to hear from that head-hunted job - will ring them tomorrow. Nothing else around - signed on at job centre yesterday . Can you fb me NC's so I can text her? Ta.

NC - at 3 hour wait for AA - at least it wasn't anything serious though. at pizza delivery to car.

Inzi - glad you enjoyed your celebration. What a lovely dh to give you strawberry + champers for breakfast.

Dalrymps · 19/07/2009 23:17

Evening ladies,

Now suffering with all day morning sickness make it go away! Am missin out on a trip to the metro centre tomorrow cause I can't stand the journey

WWAJC - Good news on the possible DLA, hope you get all you're entitled to

Muppet - Glad you're getting enough sleep and that Tobias is feeding and gaining weight well. Hope the boys have settled back in now with their new little bro . LOL at Tobias doing enormous farts

Floria - The idea of you welling up just makes me want to well up! We'd be a right pair. I was almost in tears at the Annie Lennox song 'why' today for no reason at all.

NC - Sorry you broke down for so long but at you ordering pizza, I would have sone that for sure!

Inzi - Congratulations on meeting your weight loss target. Lovely of your dh to bring you champagne in bed . Lol at Jane saying 'excuse me dada whats wrong? . Dylans latest is 'come on!' when he's getting impatient . No need to be jealous of my MS, you can have it!!!

Well off to bed now, have told close family I a pg and all are excited. Not telling any more people just yet but had to tell the family as my ms was getting to hard to hide...

Hi to all i've missed x

muppetgirl · 20/07/2009 09:26

Hi all!!!

HENRY IS WALKING!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes he still bum shiffles but he now also chooses to walk so after 20 1/2 months he is finally upright!!!!

Dh filmed him yesterday so he is going to stick it on you tube as it's so monumental!

Boys still loving Tobias although both of them thoroughly knackered after the week at Grandmas as there was no real routine so we had Henry screaming for an hour when we put him to bed on Sat eve as MIL would have gone into him and chatted with him. We are cold hearted stricter and left him to it. Last night no problems so that was good. Also getting major tantrums and some pucnhing from Ollie so he's not quite the little angel he's like us to believe him to be. Still sleeping in shifts which means I don't see much of dh but that'll get better with time. Tobias is a tummy sleeper -just like Ollie and is cranky on his back and as soon as you flip him over he's out like a light. But dh goes all caveman on me and I have to agree Tobias is much happier doing what he wants.

Dal - am hoping MS wears off soon

WWAJC - am hoping your headhunter calls soon x

love to all
xx
