Muppet - just have to say how GRRRRRRR i am on your behalf with your PILs. I think it's the too-ing and fro-ing and not making up their minds that would really get to me - if they just made a decision you could get on with plans. Wish I was closer and then I could come and help out. If they can't drive - why not get the train????
Anyway, hopefully you will get a chance now to relax for a day before Tobias comes along

Alice - hope the painting/move goes ok. Will be all worthwhile in the end!

Floria - glad the new garden is keeping you sort-of sane. Can't wait till we get the scaffolding down and some of the building rubbish out of our garden - it looks awful at the moment

Hello to everyone else - sorry for not replying properly to everyone, but i need to go to bed now so that I make sure I get up early in the morning to finish (i hope) painting the new kitchen

NeedCoffee · 04/07/2009 23:38

Hi all, wedding was lovely, not been home long and shattered.

Muppet-hope you're OK, if need be then I could come and help out, I know I don't know the boys but as a last resort, then I am available to help, even last minute if need be

Off to watch the rest of flightplan then off to bed

FloriaTosca · 05/07/2009 08:39

muppet truly appalled at your pils..not surprised you cried, I would too. NC has already made the offer but I could too if mil lets you down again...I'm free Mon and Tues, you have my number, just call.

NC glad the wedding was lovely, what outfit did you get sorted with in the end?

WWAJC sorry Anya is suffering...and you... you do get used to it but I'm sure she will have cut the tooth before then...hang on
in there.

Alice...good luck with the move.

Well I spent yesterday charging round trying to find the very old fashioned perfume my Mother loves (unsucessfully) for her birthday after my brother phoned telling me that the pressie we had decided to buy between us was out of stock.I then lost my mobile (found it on returning home late last night...on the driveway...thank heavens)...Alex then had a potty accident in the car just as we got to Mums with the pressie (nest of tables) that bro had finally tracked down at another store, then having washed Alexs clothes and the car seat cover, I popped them into Mums tumble dryer (in the garage)which she hasnt used for 3 months only to discover when I went to retrieve them that a swarm of wasps was smothering the machine ...at the risk of life and limb(I'm allergic to wasp stings) armed with a netting laundry basket as a makeshift beekeepers uniform I sprayed them with "raid" several times and rescued the articles, only to find that the swarm was attacking the machine because they had built a nest in the drum and my washing was covered in dessicated wasps and paper wasp nest!!!! No time to rewash, I brushed everything down, reassembled the car seat, then Alex, sat on my knee, promptly had another accident!!!!AAAARRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!!

must admit in the calm light of the next day, I am a little concerned as we very rarely have accidents these days and he is usually dry overnight too but cried out for his potty at 2am (too late, but we still use training pants at night so not a disaster) so I'm wondering if there might be a bit of a urinary tract infection ...I'll put some cranberry juice in his waterbottle and keep an watch on him today.

Dalrymps · 05/07/2009 10:14

Just popping in before Dylan has his milk...

Muppet at your PILs! How inconsiderate of them to suddenly throw everything up in the air at the last minute. How stressfull for you at what is already a stressful time. They must have realised it would upset you! Honestly, some people, the way they couldn't give you a straight answer then didn't call you back to confrim it was sorted grrrr!

Glad it's kinda sorted now. Good you've got offers from NC and Floria should you need help

Try and just think about the best bit, meeting Tobias and ignore their stupid fannying about.

All the best for tomorrow, try and relax before the big day

Floria - OMG, my worst nightmare, I have to say I would have left the clothes where they were. What a day, bet you were happy when it was all over!

Stefka · 05/07/2009 12:37

Hi - just to let you know I am probably going to be away until August. Going to visit DH's family. Not looking forward to it but has to be done. Might get internet access there but probably not.

Hope you all have a good summer!

Dalrymps · 05/07/2009 12:52

Bon Voyage Stefka! Hope it goes better than expected. We'll miss you. If you do get internet access pop in and let us know how you are

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 05/07/2009 16:44

Strawberry - hope your kitchen painting got finished today.

NC - glad the wedding went well.

FT - ((hugs)) at a frustrating day yesterday - at least you got your mum's present in the end and survived the wasps. How's Alex been today? (Dal - lol at leaving the clothes, I think I would have done the same!)

Stefka - hope your holiday goes ok, we'll miss you.

Well all of Anya's rough nights have finally caught up with her - she woke for a drink about midnight last night then slept through until 7:45 ! She's still sleepy today though, we went swimming this morning and she wanted to get out after 20 minutes (she did work hard though) and she looks blobbed this afternoon. Hopefully another good night on the cards tonight !

CrochetDiva · 05/07/2009 21:27

muooetgirl - I sincerely hope you have cover for tomorrow now - at your PILs though, how bloody insensitive!

Hope all goes well tomorrow - thinking of you!

Dalrymps · 06/07/2009 08:28

Eek, Tobias might be being born roght now!!! Can't wait to hear

Got my docs appointment to tell them i'm pg today, quite excited about it, think it'll seem more official

How is everyone this morning?

FloriaTosca · 06/07/2009 14:14

No news yet? I'll pop over to fb and see if there is any news there.

dal how lovely making it all official ...then we start counting down to the first scan

Dalrymps · 06/07/2009 17:07

No news yet although I can see on Muppets fb that someone called 'Jason Currill' recieved a pic of him so he must be born!

Yes, it would have been lovely making my pg 'official' if it wasn't for the doc's insensetive comments .

I went in with Dylan and she asked how she could help. I said i'm here to tell you i'm pregnant and so you can refer me to the midwives etc. She said 'and how do you feel about it, was it planned?' (which is a prefectly alright question to ask...) and I said 'good, yes it was all planned'. No smiles, no congrats like I got the first time I went with Dylan, she just said 'oh you're a glutten for punishment aren't you'. Then she said 'I tkae it you weren't trying for long' I said 'no we've been trying for 7 months' then she said 'well, nature was kind to you then, you don't want them too close together' I said, well Dylan will be nearly 2 and a half when the baby is born, then she said 'hmm yes, thats about right', oh is it really, thanks for your approval!!!

Then she was like, 'well, boys only get more energetic as they get older, not less so you'll have your work cut out, but your coping anyway...' . She then asked me if I had any probs with the birth last time and I told her i'd hada 3rd degree tear but the consultant said i'd healed well and should be fine for the next time, she said 'oh well they'll have to be careful with you then, they'll probably give you an episiotomy so it tears a certain way'. Erm will they?! I think that's up to me actually!

So basically I left feeling like a young child who had been lectured on having children too close together, in HER oppinion!

Dh is not very happy about it, says he'll complain, you think it's necessary? I was really excited about making it official, she's just messed it up, silly old crone!

FloriaTosca · 06/07/2009 17:41

take no notice of the daft old bat Dal... crikey there was one of our original posse that had her second within 12 months!...Muppet has had Tobias today (we assume) and Iris66 (who was one of our origonals too) is being induced tomorrow...9 out of 12 of the ladies who went to baby massage with me (all of our los Sept/Oct babies)are pg or have already had their 2nd .... That doctor really is opinionated ...my sil waited until Ds1 was sleeping properly before having #2..6 years!!..only to start the whole rigmarole over again...11 years of sleepless nights now, she really wishes she had had Ds2 a lot sooner. Personally I wouldn't bother complaining but I'd avoid going to her again, especially if I didn't feel I'd get the support I needed.(((hugs))))

Dalrymps · 06/07/2009 18:16

Thanks Floria, I feel like this is the perfect age gap for us, couldn't have planned it better! Don't think we'll complain but you're right, i'll not bother with her again

Dalrymps · 06/07/2009 21:56

Added a couple of new pics if anyone fancies a look

What is happening with Muppet?!?! I need to know!!!

alicet · 06/07/2009 23:42

Hello ladies, I am not going to be here for long as need to get some rest before tomorrow!

Stefka enjoy your summer - you will be missed!

Floria try not to worry about Alex having a UTI - they are very rare in boys. If you are worried it would be worth seeing the doc as if it was confirmed he would need tests to make sure there isn't a problem predisposing him to them (because they are rare in children and esp boys so they always look for an underlying cause). maybe he is just unsettled for whatever reason or distracted? Even now Sam has the occasional accident usually when he is too interested in what he is doing to remember to wee!

Dal at your stupid doc! What would she think to me then with them 20 months apart. it hasn't been easy but then as they grow up it will be lovely to have them close. Silly cow.

Anyway that is me for a while - be back sometime around the 2 week mark!

Dalrymps · 07/07/2009 14:48

Where is everyone lately?

NeedCoffee · 07/07/2009 15:50

hi all

can I just bring this to your attention while I remember

Muppet-hope all is well

Dal-ignore the stupid doc, she obv has 'issues'

FT-sorry to hear o your stressful dasy, hope there are no more accidents and the view of your lovely garden keeps you going till dh gets home.

Alice-I hope all runs smothly for you.

I have a very grumpy moo atm, I think its her teeth, shes dozing on my knee, so sorry for any spelling mistakes, but anything for 5 mins without whining!

We are going to Wales at the end of next week, staying at Tenby that travelling back up for a week staying at Travelodges, so if anyone is up for a meet up the first week of hols then that'd be cool.

ohh also, we went to Lincoln on Sun for the day, there areloads of shops, it was fsab, and very pretty.

have replied Dal and Inzi, we may be just as well having a private FB message going then everyone will know when somebody has written something.

Just got a step and twist from freecycle, so off to burn some calories!

Well done Inzi, you have done so well xxx

Dalrymps · 07/07/2009 22:03

Well done on the weight loss inzi, that's amazing!!!

NeedCoffee · 07/07/2009 22:25

pmsl at this

TheLadyEvenstar · 08/07/2009 09:32

anyone want my swine flu???

OP posts:
CrochetDiva · 08/07/2009 11:37

Private fb message? You've lost me!

INZI - wow at weight loss!

DAL - stupid GP - I'd complain to the practice manager about her attitude - whose business is it but yours (and dh's obviously) how far apart you have your children?

Well, no news here - except that I can access MN at work again - we've obviously avoided the cussing on this thread as the filters are really sensitive!

Can't access fb here though, so I'll follow your links at home.

An absolute gem for you. I organised an all-singing, all-dancing languages day, where kids in year 8 (aged 12 - 13) got to sample 6 different languages, learned about the importance of language study and learned bollywood dancing, clog dancing and salsa. They all had to fill in evaluation sheets, and on them had to answer the question:

What new ideas or information did you learn from the day?

My favourite response was ....

  • basic phrases in foreign Classic ... [sigh]
FloriaTosca · 08/07/2009 11:43

OMG Tles! I hope it is as mild as the reports make out for all but the already vulnerable.

Inzi; Well done! Fabulous weight loss! I need to do the same...just can't get my head in gear

NC; I've replied on Fb...sorry I keep forgetting about the thread there....incidentally does sleepmenot know about the FB thread? We might get to hear more from her there. Loved the clip...what a lovely little boy not to retaliate.

I hope Muppet and Tobias are home now/soon and that it was a lovely experience. One of my pals from Baby massage had a baby boy on Monday too and my cousin ahd a boy on Saturday....its obviously the week for boys
