strawberrylace · 24/06/2009 23:26

dal - keeping my fingers crossed for you...
Inzi - hoping that your back is better
NC - DS had a full on temper tantrum in Tescos on Monday cos I took some biscuits off him that were going on the floor. he screamed by what seemed like a million years - soooo embarassing
Stefka - peppa pig is on Milkshake on five, about 6.45am and 8.15am Monday to Friday - so no need for sky. I second the cheap dvds from morrisons, bought one last week and going again this week to get another I think!

Hello to everyone else. typing whilst sitting up in bed, DH is snoring, I should be sleeping as have a busy day at work tomorrow, but not feeling tired now!

Dalrymps · 25/06/2009 07:38

Strawberry - Not had a full scale temper tantrum out and about yet, don't know how i've escaped it tbh. He did have a little screaming fit in clarks once casue he didn't want to go back in his buggy

I was just coming on here to say the same as you about Peppa Pig, put channel 5 on this morning for Dylan when he got up (it was just before 7) and there Peppa Pig was!

Did another cheapy test this morning, still a faint pink line but ever so slightly darker than the one yesterday eek.

CrochetDiva · 25/06/2009 09:02

Very exciting, Dal! Fingers crossed!

Stefka, the financial situation is a real killer!

... also second peppa pig - M loves it!

My news - J got the letter ... he's now officially a jaffa, and we are free of the tynranny of contraception! I am so haooy about it!

Dalrymps · 25/06/2009 09:57

Crotchet - Not quite sure what a jaffa is . Do you mean he's had the snip?

TheLadyEvenstar · 25/06/2009 11:41

lol Dal think thats what it means!!

How is everyone?

OP posts:
muppetgirl · 25/06/2009 11:53

HI all!!

Dal - WOOOHHOOO!! Am keeping fingers (but not legs as they no longer do!) crossed for you x

Dh is walking Dex + STan religiously every day and night now which is helping. Coupled with the dog walkers the get 3 x on monday, wed and fri and 2 x the rest of the week so I think that's okay. Dex barks in the garden so he can't be out by himslef but he can with us and he just sleeps all day anyway. He still seems away with the fairies but is happy where ever his brain has taken him

I'm hot but know we're on the final straight.

Saw on facebook that dh's best man (and Ollie's godfather) has had the christening for his daughter and we weren't invited so are a little miffed. His wife is best friends with dh's old best friend till they fell out and he gets upset if dh is at functions he is so I guess the wife won (I had to talk her into inviting dh to her/their wedding as she thought the ex bf would be upset, quit honestly he needs to grow up and accept that the fell out over 8 years ago and that we've all moved on...it's not like it was over anything major)

Won't say anything, can't be bothers at the mo but might as when she is thinking of getting her dd christened to see what she says

love to all

xx

muppetgirl · 25/06/2009 12:00

I gave in and commented on one of her photos on facebook

I said

'What a lovely cake, C looks like she's desperate to eat some!'

I am now feeling in a waspish mood (and still hot)

Dalrymps · 25/06/2009 13:17

Muppet I'd be tempted to do that too!

Dh invited one of his best frieds to our wedding but didn't get an invite to his, we only found out he'd gotten married through pics on fb! So tempted to comment!

NeedCoffee · 25/06/2009 14:34

muppet-haha, don't blame you, if they say anything, tell them its hormones, I hate it when ppl aren't upfront about things, and you're quite right, whatever 'it' was, it sound like it needs to be forgotten about by now. Glad dogs are getting walked
What date you having Tobias?next week or the one after?

How much are the DVDs at Morriscum then? Rich has bought her a few PP things off amazon, not sure yet as they haven't all come, but may go get a couple of DVDs next week-speaking of which, the package he brought round the other day had a PP bowl, plate and cup, just that melamine stuff-guess how much he paid....??

FloriaTosca · 25/06/2009 17:04

very quickly..got to go food shopping or we starve tonight (wouldnt hurt me but dont think Alex and Dh would appreciate it) ...

Dal; I have everything crossed for you...there is never a financially 'right' time, you just have to go for it...soooo excited.

Inzi; alternate maximum doses of ibuprofen and paracetamol (cant remeber exact mls but remember taking two pills every 3 hours)for back pain and lay on the floor as often as possible...hope it is better today

Muppet; nearly there .... glad Dh is helping with the dogs and making things bearable for you and also making Dexs last weeks/months happy. Dont blame you in the least for commenting...in fact thought you were quite restrained...I'd have thanked her for saving me the cost of a christening present and the effort of having to get there

WWAJC; thanks for Monday..Alex passed out on the way home and slept for 3 hours!!!!! and how kind of you not to say what a little monster he is...shutting the playhouse windows on poor Anyas fingers, using windows to climb in instead of using doors, throwing stones into the bird bath, slashing water everywhere, pilfering food....

right got to go or we wont eat

Dalrymps · 25/06/2009 17:20

NC - not sure how much the PP dvds are... They're on some kind of offer like 3 for 2 or 2 for so muc. Will have a look next time we go (we only have a morrisons, no tesco or asda or sainsburys!)

How much did he pay for the bowl etc? Dylan would love it! He has a little cuddly george pig

Floria -Thanks, I have everything crossed too!

Lol ay Alex climbing in the playhouse windows!

NeedCoffee · 25/06/2009 21:33

FT-lol at Alex, typical little boy then!

Dal- at no ASda or Tesco!! How do you cope, OMG, where to you buy clothes for Dylan? 80% of dds clothes come from Asda One of the things Rich got was a cuddly George-also, a PP duvet cover set, even though she hasn't got a proper bed or quilt yet, a light pendant that doesn't fit, loads of DVDS, a set of books and some jigsaws The bowl set cost £12 (or £10, can't remember properly) plus £3.95P&P, so at least £14 he's crazy!(don't mean to sound ungrateful btw)

anyway, we're going away for the weekend with the Sun newspaper tomorrow night, with Richies Mum so need to get sorted, If I don't get back on, hope you all have a lovely weekend xx

Dalrymps · 25/06/2009 22:08

NC- I don't know how I cope, there's nowhere good to but Dylan's clothes here, used to have wollies but even that's gone now so we're left with M and Co who's clothes are ususally way over priced apart from t shirts.

We get a lot of hand me downs from his cousin who's 2 and a half . We occaionally go on a shopping trip to the metro centre (1hr away) and just buy loads of clothes from Primark for him. If we travel an our the other way to Gallashields there's a 24hr tesco and asda there .Oh and I get bargains off ebay!

We're supposed to be getting a Tesco built
here soon though, thank god!

I'm babbling, have a nice weekend.

I'm gonna crawl in to bed soon, this cold is finishing me off, even my eyes are watering now?!

NeedCoffee · 25/06/2009 22:24

ah poor you, you wont be able to take anything either will you. Hope you get better soon x

Dalrymps · 25/06/2009 22:37

Nah, well I could take paracetamol but in moderation adn I think i'll survive. Night x

WhiteWineAndJaffaCakes · 25/06/2009 22:59

Inzi- how's your back?

Dal - fingers crossed for you - how exciting! Glad you got stuff sorted out at your meeting.

Crochet - congrats - must be nice not to worry about coils/pills/etc

Muppet - at your fb comment - serves her right.

FT - at Alex sleeping for so long - not remotely surprised that he wore himself out.

NC - have a lovely weekend.

Going to bed now...

Inzi - glad your back is starting to get better. Agree with you totally on MJ thing.

Just come on to have a bit of a moan really. Had arranged to take Anya round to another mum's today at 10:00, somebody we've got friendly with at toddler groups - she's brought her dd over to ours once. Anyway, Anya's had this cold for a few days, had a rubbish night last night and got up at 5:50 this morning. I texted this woman to say Anya had a cold and was it still ok to come round, she said yes. Anya then took a turn for the worse and flaked out asleep by 9:30 so I texted again and said very sorry but she'd just fallen asleep so if it was a short nap we could still come but be a bit late but if it was a long nap I didn't want to wake her given her rubbish night so we'd have to rearrange as I had to go to work after lunch. Said I'd update her in an hour - she didn't respond. At 10:30 I phoned - it went through to voicemail - I left a message saying very sorry but Anya was still dead to the world, didn't have the heart to wake her, could we rearrange for next week? I've not had any response at all since - I tried phoning again this afternoon but it went through to voicemail again. I can't believe she's taken the hump over it - maybe she's just got caught up with other things, but I thought she and her daughter were lovely and Anya got on really well with them so I'm a bit peed off.

Rant over.

muppetgirl · 26/06/2009 19:03

Inzi - me too on the mj thing. Not a die hard fan but did like some of his music. Can't shake the child abuse thing either (hence the facebook comment) yep, we really don't know him and I think any parent who allows their child to sleep in the same room/bed as someone who isn't mum or dad is quite clearly mad however famous the adult is. Maybe they were always after money... Blame on both sides really.

WWAJC - hoping she's had an emergency? (in terms of a reason for not returning your calls, not wishing her ill!)

Dal?!?!?!? Are you?!?!?!

Still no pooing inside from Dex so that's good but he did have a go at a Doberman today whilst on his walk with the dog walker We're lucky the dogwalker is very confident and knows most of the dogs about. The extra walks are knackering him though and he sleeps most of the day but does seem happy enough.

Really heavy rain this morning so much that Henry started crying in the car as he was so scared! Very sunn now though and have been told it's supposed to be up to 30 next week

-I'll be the one in the bath with ice cold water then

Hey ladies,

I'm not confirming the pg quite yet, waiting till tomorrow as by then my af will officially be late and I will test again to see if I get a stronger line. Af was due today, no sign of it as yet although I don't want to jinx it!

Inzi- Glad your back's a little better. Hope you have a lovely time at the cinema, maybe you could take a microwave heat pack?

Sorry about Janes accident, happens to the best of us! I'm sure she'll be better in the morning, it wasn't your fault, they move so quick. Dylan has lept off the sofa more times than I care to remember!

Muppet - Glad Dex is getting on ok apart from picking on a doberman . I bet you're sick of this hot weather, we didn't really have a summer when we were pg with the piggies and that was just about bearable!

WWAJC - I can't stand grown women who act like children! Hopefuly something important came up and she isn't being silly... If ahe has taken the huff I would probably just ignore her back and wait for her to get over herself but thats me!

I'm pretty much the same about MJ. I do think he was a musical genuis and his songs are timeless and remind me of my youth. However, I don't think we'll ever get to the bottom of the child abuse allegations and i'm not totally convinced it was all about nothing. Ho hum, I think most of all he was very troubled due to a rotten childhood, sad really but there you go.

NeedCoffee · 26/06/2009 22:37

hi all!

Am in the caravan on my own with the 2 girls in bed, while Rich had to take his mum and little sister to hospital as she has a bead stuck up her nose(his sister, not mumshe's 2) so thats a bit of a bummer.

I travelled here on my own with Shannon and Rich took his mum, sis and dd1, I got stuck in horrendous traffic, got here, did all the bedding got the tea ready, they got here, ate, then realised it was up there, after a while of trying to get it out with tweezers and trying to suck it out with a straw(the little monster cried for me to do it, so i got a mouthful of snot that doesn't even have my DNA in it!!) the we thought it was best to get her to A&E, the nearest being 30 mins away, who then after an hour sent her to another one 30 mins more away, now they're saying its longer than 2 hours wait, and if they can't get it out she will have to go to the next ear, nose and throat hospital, which is.......yep, Hull! So if they have to go there, they're probably going to end up sleeping at home and coming back in morning, grrr.

WWAJC_hopefully her battery died, credit run out, she had no signal, or maybe she was just having a shitty day, hope its nothing to do with you not making it.

Dal-yes but we know! when does it become official? 6am?

Muppet-glad to hear of the no pooing

Inzi-awh, well at least its one accident of her delegated amount out of the way(iyswim) Hope your back improves continuously

oh no, shannon crying xx

Dalrymps · 26/06/2009 22:43

NC - What a bummer! Hope they can deal with it quicker than expected and they're back with you for the night... You must be pretty bored there on your own!

Erm, yes, it becomes official when I stop shitting myself that it's gonna go wrong so, in about 9 monthss

NeedCoffee · 26/06/2009 23:08

good news, they're on way back, there goes my unexpected mumsnetting lol, not got a very good signal either, as I'm using Richs donley do dah.

Oh I know what you mean, its fab news though, fingers crossed for everything being plain sailing

NeedCoffee · 26/06/2009 23:09

i meant dongly do dah, obviously.
