Hi all,
life is a bit manic at the moment - asthose of you following the sage on fb may well have seen ...
muppetgirl - thank you for the link to the sundress - I'm definitely going to have to make a couple!
Glad Henry is starting to do the walking thing - and the fact that he moved enough to fall off the sofa is a good thing!
WWAJC - Mairwen has lots of different types of "no" ... we have from "nooooo", when she's trying a block in the wrong hole of her shape sorter to NO!!!" accompanied by her giving jibs and folding her arms in a real grump!
Good news about your CV eliciting lots of interest. I don't think I would be cut out for a job with any sort of sales targets - I get too wound up!
Dal - just great big hugs for you - Alice and co have already given you the best advice - perhaps you could ask somebody else to transcribe the answer phone messages for you as they upset you so much.
Alice - I know you won't be able to read this, but I really hope that the whole move has gone well.
pixiemason - enormous hugs to you - life with a child with additional needs can seem like an uphill struggle.
inzi - wow! at your weight loss! I had got down to target, but M's sleeping has gotten so bad since I went back to work that I've hit the chocolate and put about a stone of it back on again - oh well, I'll lose it eventually!
Stefka - Grrrrrrr on your behalf about the CRB - surely though, you should be getting some pay as you're officially in post?
Well, news from us: Mairwen's asthma seems to be settling down with the current inhalers - she's really good about taking them, and doesn't make a fuss: in fact she reminds us (signs shaking her pump if she thinks we're going to forget!) The exczema, though is not settling: we're having real difficulty keeping it under control: her torso looks like a leopard-skin, it's so cracked and dry: she's also had an infection in her belly-button this week, so has been on antibiotics again. When I picked her up this morning, the skin in her armpit just split ... it's awful!
I'm sooooo glad that I'm still bf - I dread to think what it would have been like had I not
However, she's not letting it get in the way of her bid to conquer the world ... she runs, climbs, puts herself on the slide in the garden, and demands to be allowed to join in when R is playing with his lightsabre.
She doesn't have many words as such, but she definitely understands everything we're saying - in both languages. She's got an impressive repertoire of animal noises to make up for it though
I wish she would start to call me mammy though : I'm still called Daddy most of the time!
Work is frantic: it's speaking exam time - they're nearly done - it's been chaotic organising it this year: we're doing 18 different languages - a logistical nightmare!
My sister was the victim of an arson attack last Thursday: some absolute !"££"$£ put a lit bottle of lighter fluid through her letter box in the middle of the night, when she was in bed. To be frank, it's a miracle she got out alive. Her flat is gutted, and she's camping with my parents for the time being. The police are being wonderful - the insurance company are treating her like a criminal, rather than the victim of an horrendous crime. and
Right, I've been to my Welsh lesson, and I thought I'd catch up with you all before I turned in: I'll try not to leave it so long next time ....
