NL, you are far too wise! I am sure you are right though, persistence persistence persistence!!!

The thing is, if dh turned around to me and said he thought we should go our separate ways I would fall apart. I guess that tells me all I need to know for now.

StealthPolarBear · 21/04/2009 14:18

I agree - I think if you would be upset at the thought of not being together then there's somethign to work on

liath · 21/04/2009 14:27

I think I shall take persistance as my new motto . We've gone a bit too far down the "aquaintance" line here too. MJ< do you have a reliable babysitter? We're trying to start doing regular "date" nights - next one will be to see the new Star Trek film .

Happy birthday to today & yesterday's babies!

SOL, fingers crossed for the scan result.

Dippy, I love the idea of going on strike . I have been known to shut myself in the utility room when all the screeching gets too much but Starbucks would be nicer.

MIL gave us some money for ds's birthday so I got him a wee balance bike yesterday. He loves it, and looks so cute in his helmet.

I'm toying with doing my own DIY haircut with the ponytail thing (have you all seen the threads?). Ever since dd gave me nits I've been too paranoid to go near the hairdressers in case there's one that got away . Maybe I'll get my sister to help me then I can blame her if it all goes tits up!

MJreturns · 21/04/2009 14:44

I was looking at those threads liath. Not that I would need to do that as my hair is extremely short already!
It does look easy on that little video clip, but I bet it wouldn't turn out that way if I attempted it on someone!!

MJreturns · 21/04/2009 14:46

Nothing wrong with a cinema date liath, not keen on star trek myself but each to their own and all that!

Bramshott · 21/04/2009 16:16

We have had a lovely Easter holiday - DH was off for a week and we did lots of fun days out. The girls mostly played together really nicely (although by the last day they were winding each other up)!.

Still very busy with work, so not on here as much as previously.

Had anyone else noticed that Duchesse (who started off on our April thread ages ago) is pregnant? I spotted on a thread today - she must be about 25 weeks.

Better go and spend some quality time explaining to O why she can't have "more eggs" (and no, she doesn't mean the boiled variety!

CaptainDippy · 21/04/2009 17:19

Good for Duchesse - that is lovely news

Hope scan goes well SOL

LOL @ Caz, you randy bugger!

sounds like many of us are in the same boat with out relationships, which is reassuring, but a bit too.

Sigh!

Had a lovely time in Starbucks with Mocha, Fruit Toast and my book Bought a couple of bits of P's party on Sat and now need to go and find the key for the shed my childen!

StealthPolarBear · 21/04/2009 17:22

Glad you had a good day CD. Happy birthday Caiomhe.

SPB, and others who are interested in bf, have you seen the latest discussion of Clare Byam-Cook (and Annabel Karmel). I've been finding it quite entertaining.

cazboldy · 21/04/2009 18:17

My fantastic day has turned into a shit one

Had to have the vet out to one of the ponies, with suspected laminitis, but luckily he thinks we have just caught it in time. Will know more on Friday

Northernlurker · 21/04/2009 18:24

Oh no! What do they do for that now? Can you take him to stand in cold water or is that horribly old fashioned?

cazboldy · 21/04/2009 18:53

no NL it's good to hose him with cold water. I thought I was being really careful, as he is on a tiny paddock though the vet said I shouldn't feel guilty and that it was just one of those things (though maybe that was cos I was a snivelling wreck )

The good news is that his feet are not hot, and he didn't react to the hoof testers, so he technically does not have laminitis - yet....

we have bandaged his feet with some rubber insoles inside to support his feet, and he has had an anti inflammatory injection, and I have some painkillers to give him. They are coming back on Friday, and if he is no worse, then we caught it in time and it is a near miss.... so fingers crossed. he did say I could be "quietly optimistic" but I feel terrible

Northernlurker · 21/04/2009 18:56

Don't be daft! You've taken great care of him and called the vet promptly and are putting all you've got in to sorting this - you have nothing to feel bad about - it's just one of the things that can happen. Not your fault! Do the dcs know about it - are they upset?

Northernlurker · 21/04/2009 18:59

I've made you a thread over in the horse zone - hopefully you'll get some support from that direction

cazboldy · 21/04/2009 19:43

yes they know, bu no overly concerned - they don't really understand....

You are a star

Thank you

I wanted to do that, but was too

Now go and enjoy the rest of B's birthday xxx

Eddas · 21/04/2009 20:37

caz your poor pony

When I worte my last post I did think from caz's posts she'll have more babies

We won't

leakyR · 21/04/2009 20:40

Evening

Just popping in to say I had some niggly period type pains earlier, but they seem to have gone. Feel like I'm gearing up for somethinhg. Maybe the weekend

Dh is out at an AC/DC concert tonight so I don't really want anything to happen.

Eye no longer pink and sore, but throat, ears and temperature still not great. Have slept a lot today. G still at nursery 2 days a week until LO arrives.

Sorry to hear about your pony Caz. hope it's good news on Friday.

Also sorry so many of you seem to be having relationship issues atm. Hope you can get something sorted or just get it out of your system on here.

Giving serious thought to going to bed soon.

leakyR · 21/04/2009 20:42

Also SOL hope the scan results were good today.

StealthPolarBear · 21/04/2009 20:52

yes, so do I!
Hope the weekend is eventful for you leaky

Sexonlegs · 21/04/2009 21:44

Hi all,

Mum's scan result was clear!!!! I keep crying. She will have more chemo 4 more rounds I think) as they caught it so late, and will review it again then. I am so utterly relieved.

Leaky, I thought you'd gone off and had your baby! Hope you feel completely better soon; must be so hard feeling rough, having a 2 year old and being heavily pregnant.

Caz, sorry about your poor pony Really hope you get good news on Friday. A pony down the road from here had laminitis and made a full recovery.

Hi Liath, like your idea about going on dates

Dippy, really glad you had such a good day.

AngeG · 21/04/2009 21:53

That's fantastic news SOL

Leaky - Thinking of you. Hope you're feeling better soon and before baby arrives.

Caz - Hope pony ok.

We have date nights here too, definitely a good idea. We've found it's so easy to get bogged down in everyday life and forget about each other!

Sorry for the rubbish catch up. Hope everyone ok. xx

leakyR · 21/04/2009 22:10

That's fantastic news SOL

The weird pains are back Back achey at base of back and tightenings at top of uterus.

I'm sure I'm being overly sensitive/cautious about every little twinge because dh is out and quite probably pissed by now.

elkiedee · 21/04/2009 22:16

Good news SOL

leakyR · 21/04/2009 22:18

Going to try a bath and see how I feel after.

Might be on later.

Eddas · 21/04/2009 22:20

Fab news SOL am so pleased for you

Leaky, ooo keep us posted!
