PinkyMinxy · 25/03/2009 09:18

Oh my goodness, and you oblomov I'm sorry you are feeling this way.

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 09:28

mn know there is a problem and the techs are on to it

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 09:55

WooHoo, we're back in the middle of things again

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 10:04

Happy Birthday Hana

Fudge...how is M this morning?

Obs and Vbab, how are you both today?

I have to go to a SATS meeting at school this afternoon and have buggered up my babysitters (thought it was tomorrow) and they can't come today so I have to take the littlies with me.......my stress levels are already building!!

and one of my puncture wounds is infected

but...on the upside, Fin has missed his 11pm feed for two nights running now, sleeping through from 8ish to 3ish.....dare I hope that this is progress???

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 10:07

and...another thing

He has fed at 3ish and although he has been waking up at his usual time of 6ish he just hasn't wanted to feed first thing at all, and hasn't taken anything until abot 9ish. He did this a couple of times last week as well.

Should I try and get him off without feeding at 3?

Pinkali37 · 25/03/2009 10:25

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Oh my goodness, long time no speak....

At last i have found a few minutes to come into the office and get on MM. How is everyone??????????????? Any major news??????

Esme is a little gem. Sleeps right through and has just gone into 0-3 months vests even though she is 4.5 months old BLESS...

I'm loving being a mum and i hope everyone else is having a smilar experience.

Does anyone know how much to pay a childminder for 1 day a month???

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 10:35

Hey Pinkali good to see you back. your esme sounds like a little petite thing....my bruiser is just about in 6-9months stuff already.

Childminders around here usually charge about £3 or £3.50 an hour. Depending on how long the day is I would expect to pay anything from £24 to £30 for the day , although you might find it difficult to get someone who would commit to only one day a months and you might need to do it as a one day a week thing.

Ceebee74 · 25/03/2009 11:02

Hey all - glad the thread is working properly again!

Daisy I guess it depends on whether Bumble is screaming for food at 3am or just waking up? Would his dummy be enough to get him back to sleep do you think? Got to be worth a try.

Pinkali good to see you back. Esme sounds like a delightful petite girl Just think of all the wear you have got out of your newborn clothes - Sam was in them for about 1 month and that was it!!

Just taken Sam to be weighed and speak to HV about his lack of appetite. He has put on 7oz in 3 weeks so has dropped down the centiles a little but not enough to be of concern. Was refreshing to hear the HV say that it was not a reason to wean early - part of me was expecting them to say 'well if he doesn't want milk, why don't you try baby rice'

ChocOrange05 · 25/03/2009 13:04

Gosh Daisy childminders near us (Surrey) are £5.50-£6 an hour, but even cheaper childcare couldn't persuade me to live "up norf" !!

OP posts:
ChocOrange05 · 25/03/2009 13:06

Oh, just to say, nothing wrong with up norf, lovely for trips etc but its far too cold for my indian blood!!

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 13:06

ofcourse that was what I was being charged two years ago; it might have gone up a lot since then!!

up norf isn't that bad....I'd still rather be in Scotland though.

arse, I'm not being made redundant

Rosa · 25/03/2009 13:15

Phew - glad to see things are back to normal last night was scary !
Daisy I try the dummy and then wait for the wail or the snuffle .the latter being she is going back to sleep. NO signs here of either dropping a feed or the time between we are 3 hrs on the dot during the day she has done 4 hs once I think !
I am also stressing as I have to go with 2 to get something from a shop which is 4 bus stops away with the 2 of them ....not easy !
AM starting to panic as the Parents arrive next week and this house is such a tip I will never manage to get it sorted.. Oh Minirosas test results not back yet not sure if thats good or bad ?

Happy Birthdays !!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 13:17

Rosa, how is the boob today? Have you managed to clear the blocked pore?

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 13:18

Can your mum help out with getting the house sorted; or at least entertain your DDs while you get cracked on.

Rosa · 25/03/2009 13:36

I ended up with 2 of the blighters ... I found using a small wheat sack was great before feeds and then compressing with clay powder between feeds. One has gone and the other is still there so am hoping that I can get this one to go as well. Boob not so red either.
Its my mum who is coming over ...Unfortunatley I don't have anybody who can help as this place is quite small I need a full run at it with nobody round as things get put away all over ! I am hoping that SUnday dh will be at home and not zoom off so I can finish everything.

chocolategal · 25/03/2009 15:44

Hi everyone
How are we all? Lots of love to obs & vbab.
That's frustrating rosa that the results aren't back yet.

Hi pinkali, we are still in 0-3 month clothes although he is long so going to have to move to next size soon.

Daisy, my LO is a bit like bumble overnight, he goes from 10-3 am then up at 6 ish but not hungry for milk until 7-7.30 ish! He is normally wide awake at 3 am though so I just automatically feed him back to sleep. I would be very interesed to know how you get on trying to drop that feed!

Hi to everyone else

juanitad · 25/03/2009 19:29

Have been away for a couple of days, visiting PILs, so P has been massively fussed and cooed over for the past 48 hours!! So I have missed quite a lot I think - just had a skim through and wanted to send hugs to Obs and Vbab, sounds like things are tough right now. Remember, you are doing a fab job, I am so in awe of anyone with more than one, I think you must have to be a superwoman to deal with 2 or more. Hope you get the help you both need if it is PND, or at least hope things calm down for you both soon.

I am feeling a bit down today. My bro and SIL have gone through 2 unsuccessful rounds of IVF recently and have been told this week that they might as well call it a day - it's probably never going to work for them. I feel guilty that it was relatively easy for me to get pregnant, but I know it's just the way of the world. Just seems so unfair though.

MummyNic · 25/03/2009 20:47

Hi everyone. I feel a little sheepish about posting as I haven't been on in ages.

I have been in a bit of a dark place, frustrated at the lack of help I've had from DH and mum. Have had numerous arguements which culminated in a huge one on Sunday - my first mothers day and one I want to forget.

In short I hope my DH has finally listened to me... Watch this space....

James is wonderful, I love him more each day. Not weaning yet...

We are so busy now. We go swimming on a Monday, cranial osteopath every other Tuesday (160 mile round trip!), baby group on Wednesday and baby-rhyme-time at the library every other Thursday. We try to visit friends on a Friday.

And that, ladies, is why I'm never on now!!! DH hogs the pc in the evenings and I do housework / play with James the rest if the time... Sound familiar to anyone?!!!!

Forgive me for not being around but I have a tip.... Cranial Ospteopath helps PND / PTSD!!!!!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 20:54

hey mummynic

glad things are OKish; it's been a bit worrying when folks have disappeared off the face of the earth so it's good to know that everyone is alive and kicking.

at your DH. I really need to count my lucky stars for mine...and also for the fact that I have my own laptop .

Aren't the babies great now? Bumble has joined us at he table today, with a cushion stuffed behind him to support him better in the highchair. He just laughed his way through tea tonight which was really cute . In the true spirit of BLW, I popped some gluten free past and a bit of carrot on the table in front of him.....he dutifully ignored them and chewed his bib . I'll post a pic up tomorrow.

ellielou02 · 25/03/2009 20:59

Hi everyone, Hope everyone has had a nice day
daisy are you originally from scotland?

hello to mummynic hope you DH has listned to you and he helps you a bit more. Was interested in what you say about the cranial osteopathy i had pnd with dd1 but was also diagnosed with ptsd due to something that happened ages ago I take it its you who gets it not James

MonkeyMargot · 25/03/2009 21:00

Sorry to hear some of you are feeling low Obs and vbabs. I had a meltdown a few weeks ago, and just tried to focus on getting more sleep for a few days whilst I got through it. Agree with everyone else's comments - must be worth a chat with your HV?

rosa hope your boobie blisters are improving.
On Sunday, I thought I was getting the flu (shivery, sweaty, achy etc). Then i realised I had a red mark on boob and hard lump. I thought it was mastitis, but the flu symptoms have gone, and the redness, but there is still a lump there. Poss a milk blister lacks?
Also, the Plum is teething terribly, and has now got a nasty fungal rash on bottom and face. The HV prescribed a cream, and said the rash is related to teething. Poor sausage.
On the plus side, she slept through last night from 6:30pm - 6:30am - hooray! A first.

Lacks i had noticed that Plum wasn't that hungry at 7am, which made me suspect she didn't really need her 3am feed. Last night's sleepthrough has confirmed that suspicion!

Happy Birthday Hana!! Love the fringe!

Pinkali welcome back and glad little Esme is making you a happy mummy! Wow - she must be tres petite. Mine is also in 6-9 months now, a big girl.
Hey Mummynic good suggestion on cranial osteo for PND - my cranial osteo is like the horse whisperer - he is the most calm, soothing person I've ever met!
got to go - apple pecan loaf ready. x

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 21:10

I am ellielou, from Fife originally, but I lived in Edinburgh for 15 years. I miss it soooooo much

OK MM....tonight he will be denied, but then again, he fed at 5ish and wasn't too bothered at bedtime, all he wanted to do was giggle at me, so who knows what will happen tonight; it's like sleep roulette around here

MummyNic · 25/03/2009 21:12

I originally started going to cranial for James and his reflux. Turns out his neck was stiff as was his left side (restricting his stomach) - I have worked on him looking to the side of his stiff neck which has cured that and she has eased his left side.

My friend (a few months away from being a fully qualified osteopath) arrange the whole thing and, after the first appointment, the osteopath ask my friend if she thought I was ok. SHe said yes but the osteopath said, no, she's not - without having ever met me she could tell that all was not well with me and said she was worried about me.

To cut a very long story short - she started to treat me as well as James and has worked wonders. My SPD had returned - she's fixed it. My womb had only contracted on 1 side - she fixed it. I'd had ligament pain in my womb area... Yep, she's fixed it!!!

And she put her hands on my head... 5 hours later the fog lifted!!!! Don't get me wrong, I still have problems - namely DH. But she has helped me so much and I'm relatively pain free as well - a big factor in the PND stakes.

She's one of the best cranial osteopaths in the country and I love her!!!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 25/03/2009 21:13

Monkey, sounds like you caught it in time, but keep an eye on the hard lump. Swelling can often remain after the infection has been flushed out, but it can make you more prone to further bouts. Probably something to do with her change in feeding pattern!

apple pecan loaf sounds fab....you are fast turning into our very own alphamummy

vbab78 · 25/03/2009 21:36

fudge - Sorry to hear about M's knock. Understandably you kept an eye on M but you would be amazed how tough kids are. I bet your friend felt horrible. I've been watching DS like a hawk today as at morrisons us rushing to toilet (for him) he tripped, spun around (i was loosely holding his hand) and hit the back of his head hard on the marble type floor. The "crack" noise was loud and horrible . DS is fine and only cried a little but it made a horrible noise.
hana - Happy birthday.
lacks - sorry to hear that one of your wounds is infected. Hope it heals soon. Great news about Fin's progress. Sorry cant advise on feeds (especially breast feeding). Alyssa (19wk) has slept through about 4 times, last night was 7-7 but for the most part goes 7 til anywhere between 3 and 6. To be honest I think unlike DS she wont slept through properly until on solids. Of course her vomiting cant be helping keeping her full to sleep through.
pinkali - Congrats on Esme sleeping through.
juanitad - sorry to hear about bro and SIL. Makes you realise how lucky you are.
THANKS for all your well wishes. Feeling better today. Been going out of my way this PM to act ultra silly with the kids. Took DS and A to new local library this AM with my dad for backup. A was asleep the whole time but WOW is DS LOUD!!! Also realised that if I want to look at books need to go without DS. If I take DS just make it about him, thinking of making it a once a week/fortnight thing. He is loving his library books in his little bag . Just need to keep an eye on him with them to make sure he takes care of them! DS been great with a couple of whining sessions. Felt bad when he banged his head. A been great and chomping more on her thumb. But has she got a strong personality even at this age. She is known to push off while holding her and even grunt at you!
