Dozymare · 20/03/2009 19:41

ah bless you choc maybe meet Monday at football for a coffee as it is my turn????

LackaDAISYcal · 20/03/2009 20:49

choco, the waitrose bottom butter thing was only last year...and it all started after a thread on MN after someone said they had been using it themselvs and their skin was lovely!!!!!

no ideas rosa, could it be a viral rash after her bottom problems?

evening all....been having a day of it here; another visit to the doctors for bumble after he had dark orange gloop oozing out of his ears this morning and was screaming the house down......no surprises his ear infection hasn't really cleared up and had come to a head so to speak.....anyhoo, he has some stronger ABs and seems to be a bit better tongiht and was actually smiling again and wanting to play rather than just sitting on laps cuddling in. DD on the other hand; she is battling a temp of 40 and is really miserable with the cold....although the calpol magic has kicked in and she is currently arranging teddies and dollies on the sofa and refusing to go back to bed!!

But the sunshine has been gorgeous here today and I was pootling around in the garden preparing my raised beds for planting over the next few weeks then a friend popped over and stayed for lunch.

We tried to go to IKEA but there had been a huge accident in town and we got turned back the way we had just come so gave up on that idea.

jaunita.....my friend had just come from stay and play and said they have implemented a booking system for it as there were too many children and they have limited it to 15 children per session due to H&S concerns ...I'm really about that as I felt I was starting to make some mummy friends there and the new system means you are less likely to meet the same people week on week and it means that we won't be able to go now for at least another two weeks as it's booked up for the next two weeks. although apparently the tuesday one is a lot quieter.

sorry mammoth post...always happens when i haven't been on.

ellielou02 · 20/03/2009 21:10

Hello,
Thats good bumble is feeling better daisy but now your DD has the cold, but calpol is great isnt it Thats not great news about the stay and play, its always good when you meet new friends but hopefully you will still see some of them. There isnt many baby groups around my area which is a bit of a shame I would like to meet some mummies too, it was great seeing chocolategal the other day we trained together a few years ago now! There is another girl I know whose DD is a day older the M (I actually heard her giving birth well I heard screaming whilst I was waiting for my sweep) I remember thinking ouch that sounds sore!!! Little did I know I would be in the next day! Anyhoo she comes to me for coffee somtimes and its lovely to talk about our babies and other stuff.
I have been stuck in the house the last few days was getting the walls insulated on thurs (that was fun with a baby who couldnt sleep!) and waited all day on the plumber coming today for him to come at 5pm and take 5mins to do a job . I am hoping to go and buy M's highchair tomorrow tho I hope its a nice day.
chocolategal good luck with your talk!

PinkyMinxy · 20/03/2009 22:22

hello

Thanks for kind messages. I just want tomorrow to be over.

Mimi is a lot better. I'm sorry bumble's ears have been bad, and DD is poorly. Hope the power of calpol works its wonders.

Hope this lovely weather stays put for everyone- especially those having their first mothers day this year!

LackaDAISYcal · 20/03/2009 22:50

of course pinky...lots of first time mother's days. I hope the DPs/DHs are well primed for it

Good Luck for tomorrow...just remember you are worth ten of them and that you are loved by your new family and your friends.

DC have been up and down like yoyos tonight; it's going to be a long one and I'm sure I'll be regretting my two large glasses of wine in the morning!!

juanitad · 21/03/2009 08:43

Daisy, I was going to send you a message to let you know about stay and play - such a shame isn't it? I managed to book for next week but that means I probably won't be able to go the week after. Apparently there is a new childrens centre in Alwoodley and they do a stay and play on a Wednesday morning so that could be worth checking out. Sorry to hear of all your traumas with bumble and DD, hope they are feeling better soon.

MonkeyMargot · 21/03/2009 20:20

Hi there. Gosh, it is quiet on here!

Lacks glad Bumble is feeling better.
pinky be strong girl, and hope today was OK for you...

Met ChocO and baby M yesterday for coffee - was lovely and little M is such a cutie!! I think the Plumster has her eye on him...

Tonight we are leaving the Plum in her own room all night for the very first time . I'm sure it will all be fine, but still feel nervous, even though she spends the first half of every evening in her nursery already.

Happy Mothering Sunday everyone for tomorrow!
Hope you all get spoiled by your partners and get a break of some sort x

LackaDAISYcal · 21/03/2009 21:11

I think all the babies have decided they just aren't happy with mum MNetting and not paying them any attention!! Bumble wants to be entertained all the time, and is only having a couple of naps in the day now. That and the fact that the weather has been too gorgeous to stay indoors.

Last night.....he went all night without a feed!! I'd like to say the reason was because he was asleep, but noooo. He just didn't want to feed when he was awake. Mind you, it's a start I suppose. We just need him to stay asleep now.

He is back to normal today; no random screaming and back to his smiley self .

chocolategal · 22/03/2009 07:59

Happy Mothers Day everyone xx

ellielou02 · 22/03/2009 08:13

Happy Mothers day to you allxx I got a lovely card from dd1 that she made at nusery.

PinkyMinxy · 22/03/2009 09:29

Happy Mothers Day evryone.x

DS had made me a littled ecorated pot with violas in at nursery school, and I got breakfast in bed!

Thank you for your kind wishes. I survived yesterday. We arrived when we wanted and left when we wanted. And now it is over, thank goodness.

Glad bumble is better, daisy

Hope Plum enjoyed her night in her nursery, MonkeyM.

cricri · 22/03/2009 11:14

Happy mother's day everybody, especially the first-time mummies!
I had a lovely card and a pen from E so a special memento for my 1st mother's day We were at MIL's yesterday for lunch and off to my mum's for lunch in a bit with my sister and BIL. Everybody is bringing a course so that we spread the load.
Pinky Glad you survived yesterday.
MonkeyM Hope the Plum enjoyed being in her nursery for the whole night. I haven't had chance to say as well that I'm very of you going to France for two whole months! We're going for a couple of weeks in May which will be nice.
Daisy Hope everybody in your house is now better and hope that's it for a while now because I think you've had more than your fair share of lurgies!
Chocolategal Hope you managed to negotiate more help from your DH. It's hard isn't it - I left E with DH this morning whilst I had a shower but before I could get dressed he'd handed her back to me saying that he was desperate for the loo. He was in there for over half an hour so really desperate then Wish I had the luxury of half an hour to spend in the toilet!
Anyway, enough moaning, hope everybody has a lovely day.

Dozymare · 22/03/2009 12:04

Happy mother's day everyone!!!

I have been thoroughly spoilt which is how it should be!!!! going to get oin garden in a bit to make a start on that......beautiful day!

Monkey little tiger also did first night in her room all by herself but it was by default!!! She has been sleeping 7-7am since before Xmas but with a dream feed by DH at 10pmish. However, I went to bed at 6pm last night as still whacked from being ill, I woke at 3am and no tiger in tracvel cot or DH next to me...went downstairs and DH asleep on sofa, he said he fell asleep 9ish and hadn't fed tiger yet. We checked her, she was sparko and we figured that we might as well leave her for the night - she was up at 7:15am, smiling and laughing and downed 7oz. No turning back now I feel!!

Pinky well done on surviving, how did you feel???

Love to everyone else

Ceebee74 · 22/03/2009 12:30

tegan · 22/03/2009 14:13

Happy mothers day to us all>

I have been advised by hv to start solids, even tho o is only 15 wks old. so i bought some rice and i think a little may have gone in but his bf is still 2 hrly and even 1.5 hrs sometimes but he slept 10 hrs last night so i don't mind too much. how do i go about this solids thing as i have no idea also he still won't have a bottle or cup.

LolaBella · 22/03/2009 15:01

Happy's mummy's day to all Very sad news about Jade today. Thinking about her poor boys makes me just want to cuddle Oscar even more

Well so to hear of all your LO's sleeping through. We are regressing here and it is so bad. Oscar now going to bed at 8 and waking at 11,1,3ish sometimes 5 and starting day anytime from 6 . I don't know if it's hunger or now habit as it has been like this for two weeks. I just stick my boob in his mouth as i'm usually so desperate to go back to sleep but now i'm wondering if i should be trying something else first? Any advice greatly received as i am getting to end of tether. Also, because we rock him off to sleep on a night (rod for back i know), i am wondering if that when he wakes in night he is now needing to be rocked back off?

Tegan not sure about early weaning but i'm sure someone more knowledgable will be along shortly

Rosa · 22/03/2009 15:02

Blimey if he goes 10 hrs at night is it not force of routine Tegan that he is eating every 2 hrs as in hey ho not sure what to do so lets have a bit of boob mum ? Minirosa can be like that especially if we are at home and not out and about its as if she gets bored.... 15 weeks is very early IMO but as you are asking advice I would mix bm with baby rice make it very runny and then you can start with a spoon but I find that finger tips are good to suck off !!!
Is he gaining weight ok ? I guess you have tried Kellymom - I am an addict since Daisy suggested it as it seems to come up with lots of ideas and links.

LackaDAISYcal · 22/03/2009 15:28

Happy Mother's Day

lovely day here and have been thoroughly spoiled, although DS1 is being his challening wee self. I' now sitting with the pooter, enjoying a couple of naughty afternoon glasses of wine (and feeling really lightheaded as I'm not used to daytime drinking), DS1 upstairs watching a film, DD asleep and bumble on his Dad's lap.

tegan, if you look on the Hipp website they have a chart which shows timings and amounts which is quite useful. Why has she suggested early weaning?

LackaDAISYcal · 22/03/2009 15:41

lola, bumble went through a phase of that for a few weeks but we are out the other side now and he is back to once and rarely twice a night now.

I think it was a combination of growth spurt, being too nosey to feed well during the day and me just feeding him at night cos he was awake and bleated. Anyhoo, after my night off, Dh just stuck his dummy in when he awoke which pacified him half the time. Now I try that as first attack and more often than not he will go back to sleep unless he is really hungry. Result of that is that he is feeding more in the day so not wanting as much at night.....and the growth spurt is over with for the minute.....big five month one looming though!

tegan, re the constant feeding in the day; some babies are just snackers unfortunately, but you could try some block feeding to ensure he is getting your richest milk....try feeding on the same side for blocks of three hours or for two feeds. Your supply goes a bit loopy and you'll get a couple of days of engorgment but it'll settle quickly. Downside might be an extra night waking though.

SausageRoleModel · 22/03/2009 18:51

hi all - i have been away visiting mum for a week, so offline. happy mothers day!

LolaBella · 22/03/2009 19:55

Thanks Daisy i know i will have to just ride it out but it's so bloody knackering. Oscar is just over 20 weeks is that a common growth spurt does anyone know?
