no1 yay!!! that's fantastic re test results so far. what make high chairs have you got? we looked at tripp trapp but were a bit at the price of them!

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 21:37

Miamla I've a trip trap for DD1 and DD2 but got the IKEA antillop for Dylan - its cheap, fab and easy to clean and by the time she's too big for it I can put her on one of the girl trip traps and DD1 can sit on a chair

have sent you a message on fb

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/03/2009 21:39

wise words dizzy, and its v understandable why you're saying them.
i had a similar problem with my dad ie he just showed no interest in DS at all. I bit the bullet, sent him a long email. I imagine some of it was quite hurtful but it was all stuff i needed to say. Well, cut a long story short, dad now shows a little more interest in DS. He did explain why he hadn't got anything for him for Christmas (that he wants to put money into an account for him) but he didn't tell us until a couple of weeks ago

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 21:41

about my mother or the high chairs

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/03/2009 21:43

thanks dizzy you are right as usual.

miamla thankyou, yes its good news I feel so much lighter today. if that makes sense.
Highchairs are obaby megan wooden highcahir.
Both chairs came with free clic-clac removable tray.
got both for less than a trip trap, they look almost identical to me.
Also makes that do a similar one are
Babydan
Hauck Alpha
Redkite (has harness attached)
I bought a babydan striped seat pad and will copy pattern to make one for the other chair.
hth
I wanted the Antilop but dh wouldnt let me because it doesnt fold away. These 2 just fit nicely under the table.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/03/2009 21:45

we got them off ebay btw. I believe shitecare mothercare do them, but no tray.
I was going to go for the babydan as they do black and our chairs are black, but they dont have a tray option either.

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 21:45

our antilop can be pushed under our table too which is great but am afraid I couldn't justify the cost of 3 trip traps, we'll justchuckDD1offhers tell DD she's a big girl and can use one of the big girls seats

sambo303triesforScotland · 09/03/2009 21:46

dizzy and ann my DB is another meeper

no1 phew I am so relieved that the gorgeous M is OK.

miamla I have the Ikea antilop, it is fab, looks good and is easy to clean

I am preparing to look after my 9 month old nephew tomorrow morning whilst DB goes to emergency meeting, have hoovered, hidied grabbable items, built freecycled cot bed (twice cos thought I did it wrong the first time but did not), put up curtains in ds's nursery, shopped for salmon and made Nigella Lawson Bakewell tart for DB's lunch... I am absolutely shattered. And I plan to take the wee lads to rhymetime which involves a 1 hour walk either way with double buggy...off to bed to recuperate and gather strength

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 21:48

good lordy sambo, am shattered reading about it

sambo303triesforScotland · 09/03/2009 21:51

fed ds 4 pieces of sweet potato at lunch time - he loved it and swallowed lots. I have heard it's good for helping babies sleep so I have high hopes for tonight (and I need the rest). Will report back tomorrow , night all

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 21:51
MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/03/2009 21:52

blimey sambo! you were a whirlwind of productivity today

we've got an antilop already, i was looking ahead to when DS is going to be too big for it [organised emoticon]

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 09/03/2009 21:52

sambo, wow, and yum to bakewell tart.
good luck with another littlie tomorrow.

dizzy I did not know that the Antilop could go under the table.suppose it depends on height of table, but I imagined it was just too big.
also can I just say after my shocking day today, I take my hat off to you with 3 dd's and a dh that does shifts.

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/03/2009 21:53

ooh, hope that's true re sweet potato, i've done a batch for DS today!

cyteen · 09/03/2009 21:58

Well done sambo, you've earned a good night's sleep for sure.

I have done bugger all today I had a hangover Need to think of something to make for Joe's lunch tomorrow as we are going out to baby group...this is the only problem I've encountered with BLW so far, it's hard to make stuff in advance as you can with purees. He will probably end up with dry pasta

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/03/2009 21:59

thanks for info no1

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 21:59

no1 only without a tray but we've an IKEA table so that might have helped

sambo I love it when we visit my friend with her baby and he and Dylan just sit there oohing and aahing at each other - its lovely

miamla in that case I LOVE my triptrap

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/03/2009 23:28

once the tray is on an antilop, is it possible to take it off again? mine seems to be stuck fast!

dizz, why are you blushing? Confused

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 23:31

because I gave you crap advice! I have the old version which can fold down at my aunts house and the tray came off of that no problem - my friend forgot to get me the tray when she got this one but this is the one with 4 static legs so it may be different

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 23:32

oh and I forgot to tell you all that DD1 decided to announce in the church tonight that she loved pole dancing, the two wee biddies waiting to see the meenister nearly fell over

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/03/2009 23:34

well if you don't want a tray on it, i wouldn't risk trying one because i'm pretty sure they don't come off again!

pole dancing? love it!

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 23:35

tell me about it, couldn't have been more innocently innappropriate if she's tried bless her

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/03/2009 23:46

so what did she mean?

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 23:48

she's 5, she was twirling round and round the pole laughing and having a great time

she announced she loved pole dancing at which point I ended up in very childish snorty giggles

Expectant · 10/03/2009 03:28

No1 glad the test results came back ok but about the urine test.

Thanks for the comments on our current home - you're all welcome as it seems like people think I operate an open door policy anyway

Did tell Mum and Dad to come at the same time as MIL which I think would be easier but they're not having it (would mean DS had to come back in with us as we only have 3 bedrooms). Mum and MIL don't really get on very well - something to do with MIL telling my Mum that she didn't love me enough (I only found this out at new year when DH and I had a huge row after one too many wines and I finally spoke to Mum about my issues with depression etc (too long a story to go into now)).

Dizzy am back on 24 April to 8 May. DS is being Christened on 3 May. We'll be in Rugby for most of the time with my parents and Carlisle for a couple of days to see MIL and DH's family. Would be good to arrange a meet up. Will be going to Birmingham to see some colleagues and also to London to check on our house in that time so not sure what is easiest for most people.

On subject of high chairs DH decided on completely impractical Jane highchair which we bought when dnephew visited. Very nice and turns into table and chair afterwards. Fine for a v.hungry and eats anything nephew but not so helpful for a highly distractable DS who is difficult to feed at the best of times. So we have also bought an antilop but trays still out of stock in our Ikea but is so much better and he doesn't try to chew the side of it all the time.

Miamla our DS's sound very similar - completely fearless when it comes to standing, cruising and climbing although he's developed and odd aversion to velcro??! Am so not looking forward to a 13 hour flight next month as he will just not sit still......

Wow another long post - must do some work.
