Sorry Cy - no advice or insight from me, but I hope it isn't anything serious.

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/03/2009 14:51

cyteen, afraid i don't know either. has he got any teeth yet?

cyteen · 09/03/2009 14:56

no, not yet although the frantic chewing of everything and periodic flushed cheeks continue. i guess tooth pain could be radiating into the ear (if indeed it is ear pain...gahhhh, i wish he could just tell me ).

it's so hard to know what to do because the bottom line is that something just feels a bit wrong, which won't be much use to any doctor we might see.

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/03/2009 15:22

have you tried any teething gels on his gums? might be worth a try. i've found that Calgel works brilliantly on DS but obviously if you're worried you should see a doc. i understand your predicament of just feeling something's wrong though. is his feeding normal?

hmm, i can hear hiccups over the monitor so that obviously means DS is awake. Do you leave your DC until he cries or go up as soon as he's awake? i tend to do a mixture of both but just wondered what others did

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 15:29

miamla if they're happy to pootle about then I leave them for a wee while, good for them to be happy with their own company

cyteen, not sure but I would think its worth a child's health thread or phone call to HV just for some ideas

dentist just did a check to see what was needed and I have to go back for work was very brave though

dizzydixies · 09/03/2009 15:31

oh well was brave until she skooshed me with the cold air thingy on my sore tooth and I just about leapt into next week - am still aching now

work to be done at another appt just as soon as I find dh's shifts and make it

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/03/2009 15:55

have you found your DH's shifts yet? no? go on then, off you toddle!

re cot time, that's what i thought

i need chocolate NOW!

AnnVan · 09/03/2009 15:55

dizzy i it makes youfeel anybetter, I too haveto go to the dentist. I'm not even registered with one. Permission to [meep]? I know it's your thing, but I think it's appropriate. I know for definite I'll need some fillings.

cyteen can't help much I'm afraid. Seb shakes his head about a lot. At first it worried me, but now it just seems like it's something he likes doing

cyteen · 09/03/2009 16:01

This is the problem - the back arching is new so it might just be a new 'thing' that he's learned to do. Head shaking is also something he does when he's tired (has had particularly crap naps today). He is quite sicky today, whereas other days he is not so much...it could all be something, nothing or a mix thereof. Suppose I'll just have to keep worrying an eye on him

E.g. now he is sat in his inflatable nest and has been laughing his head off at me acting like a tit

Miamla he does like Calgel. We have tubes of it all over the house, for those times when you're scrabbling about going 'ffs where's the tooth stuff there there darling, don't cry, bollocks, bollocks, where is it...'

AnnVan · 09/03/2009 16:13

Actually dizzy my DB says meep a lot. you're the only other person I've known to meep.

AnnVan · 09/03/2009 16:13

no, shall not have a malteser at all but we ARE having an egg hunt when we're at that place if you think DS1 isn't too old for it and won't be standing there going FFS Mum who are these weirdos and why have I to be nice to them again

and then we can shovelin dispose of all the chocolate eggs in a responsible manner that Annabel Kannabel (whatever the feck her patronising name is) would be proud of

oohhh brilliant! would be delighted if you came down but am also up to arranging a meet nearer to you if it suits you better - the farm won't be a malteser free zone if thats an issue

thank you so much for the offer but I think we're ok, MIL has everything for up the road and that place seems to be pretty well kitted out - shall shout if I need to

MiamlaHasADaffodilBehindHerEar · 09/03/2009 16:59

i found some biscuits i'd hidden from dp so my choc craving has been sated!
