Now DCs have another cold, I feel like I'm getting it too. But, tis only a cold.
Spring is springing though, we ate lunch outside today.

LackaDAISYcal · 15/03/2009 22:35

How are things Sputnik? Glad you had a week of good health, but sorry to hear lurgy has returned. Are you OK?

Fairy, that sounds wonderful!

My turn next

TheNatty · 16/03/2009 09:28

yep tom got me up at 6.45 again this morning.

we have finally cracked the pocket nappies. ellen needs the orignal inserts boosted with hemp inserts nothing else works.

tom has been hoovering the living room all morning, which is funny cos when it came a week ago he was terrified of it!

aw butterfly bless him.
hope he doesnt suffer too badly with it poor mite.

Sputnik · 16/03/2009 11:05

lol @ chickens!
I thought I was getting the cold but maybe I have got away with it. My sinuses are buggered though.

6.45, you are lucky. Mine get us up at 6.30 usually.

TheNatty · 16/03/2009 11:17

gosh i dont know how you all do it, im not used to these super early mornings. esp as they are both greeting me with "morning mummy, i dun a poo"

Ohforfoxsake · 16/03/2009 11:33

Tis the way it is Natty. I was up before the kids today. Much rather have a shower and get ready without having to guess who is doing what where and to who. But then I'm happy to go to bed at 9pm

Should've got up and gone to the gym really. Been two weeks now, but I did loads of jobs including the shed and the garden this weekend.

Jeez, over a grand for conservatory blinds Do I go for cheap plastic bronze tinted roof, or clear with blinds? I hate all this Wonder if I can convince DP to sell up and rent. Hate it when the house starts falling down. Wouldn't mind spending the money if it was for something good, like a new kitchen, but not for crappy repairs. oh arse. what a waste of money IMO.

LackaDAISYcal · 16/03/2009 11:43

ds was up at 6.15 this morning...can i go downstairs? no, can i watch tv? no....please please please can i? offs, go but no jetix or cartoon network. We got up an hour later...he was watching jetix . cue an hour of tantrums, aggression, lashing out, screeching until it was time for school. Then as soon as he was out the door, DD started and has had four major tantrums lasting over half an hour each and it's only fecking 11.30.

bumble had a bit of a paddy about going in the bath, then coming out the bath, then getting dressed, but has been an angel by comparison, in spite opf a cough and wheeze and covered from head to foot in a viral rash.

Poor DH is trying to make work phone calls with DD screaming in the background.

aaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh make it all stop.

sorry about the pox butterfly, but lol at wondering if he caught it from the chickens

right need a shower. my skin has reacted to the sticky in the dressings i have on and I'm all itchy and blotchy.....nice and i have a sore throat too.

shoot me please, someone, it's the most humane thing.

aw daisy
hope you feel better and DC start to behave.
im dreading have three in the mornings, but thank god ive got the whole summer hols b4 tom starts nursery.
thats if i find one. all the local ones are full. so looks like he wont be starting till next year, ive not got a car to be travelling miles to find somewhere.

Ohforfoxsake · 16/03/2009 13:20

we have similar issues Daisy. The boys set their alarms to get up and want to play the wii (I sneak in and switch their alarms off). But, if we don't want them to, we have to get up and police it. So we accept itk. Or unplug it and put it away the night before.

Do you know what I think you should do? Let him get on with it. DS1 has grown out of Jetix now, and I'm more likely to find him watching Ben 10 or football.

I can't say what is causing it in your house, but in mine I think DS1 needs a bit of independence and a bit of 1:1 time. DS2 essentially wants to be a mummy's boy, but bravado doesn't allow it. He won't kiss me infront of his friends, but wants to sleep with me every night.

Perhaps we should just stop fighting the fight and start a support thread to rant on instead. I mean, what would happen if they did get up and watch Jetix/play the wii? Apart from being late for school. Every day.

Ohforfoxsake · 16/03/2009 13:22

Natty, is Tom 3 this year, so is entitled to his 2.5 hours a day?

TALLULAHBELLE · 16/03/2009 14:04

Hi folks. Pouring here again & I've a machine full of sh*y nappies & the last load not dry yet. Been up the all night the last 2 nights with DT's just not settling & last night DD was at it too.House a tip, as per. Paperwork piling up. Daisy, save a bullet for me .

TheNatty · 16/03/2009 15:11

yeah foxy he is three next month. he is entitled from september apparently, tho there are no spaces round here, i have a place where we used to live but all the nurserys are full locally

so he will prob be starting next jan now, ive got him down for a space should anyone not need theirs.

can i send him to a private daycenter type thing (0-3) rather then a nursery in a school?

TheNatty · 16/03/2009 15:15

aw T, sorry to hear things hectic. you might get some sun tomorow, its been nice here so im shooing it down your end of the country lol!

and T, if you can, get a tumble dryer. i dont use mine all the time, but ive only had it a week and lost count of the times ive run out of nappies/toms covered his only coat in chocolate/wet the bed with the last of the bedding on it.
and yes they cost a bit to run, but imo its worth every penny.

good on you for even using cloth on twins with no dryer, i said to DH that having a tumble dryer was the one condition on me having another child lmao!

how are you doing daisy things calmed down??

my casrole dish just smashed in the oven

LackaDAISYcal · 16/03/2009 15:21

oh, tallulah....sounds tiring. I have no right to complain really; DS1 is pretty self sufficient so I only have one baby and a toddler to deal with...and only one waking up in the night.

I have been pretty grumpy (I don't do pain very well) and DH has been tired so we have had a bit of sniping at each other....always brings out the worst in DS1 . He'll be in from school soon so we'll see what mood he is in. He has been given extra work as he is falling behind in class again after doing really well for the first half of the year. He will gget a shock when there is no TV this evening.....I banned it before and after school for the rest of this week, although I might make him watch Deal or No Deal!! Off for a quick read of How to Talk to refresh my memory and strengthen my resolve.

I've been tryoing to plan my veg crops for this year. Lots of pean and beans, mangetout and carrots. We did really well with spinach and chard last year, but didn't eat it same with the radishes. Courgettes have been a wash out for the last two years so not sure we'll bother this year. Potatoes did well in pots, but not the ones planted in the ground . I wish I had half a clue about what I was doing though.

I've been in the garden this afternoon clearing all the dead bits of last years growth from the herb bed...much to DH's consternation, but it wasn't exactly hard going. I just needed to be out doing something as I'm going stir crazy here and in danger of spending a shed load of money online if I'm not careful.

LittleMissNorty · 16/03/2009 15:42

Daisy...sorry to hear things are hard atm....hows the eating though? Can you eat crap again without effect? I had another attack Sat eve and was trying to calm down a screaming DS at the time .

He also has a viral rash from head to foot...was going to take him into work this week, but he isn't the prettiest baby atm . His temp went to 39 on Sat and the out of hours doc had to see him before letting me give him calpol, but he had caught DDs virus as I thought. Felt odd giving such a young baby calpol, gave me a very sleepless night...but he's ok now....just the rash.

Hats off to you Tallulah....bad enough with one that needs to be cuddled all the time and won't settle!

Why is it I get him to sleep, put him down and he farking well wakes up every time and starts screaming....is it a boy thing?

Blimey, only just had my lunch....wheres the day going?

Hope sunny weather is travelling north....its lovely here - even hung my washing out for the first time this year!

Hope DS1 isn't too miserable Butterfly....have the other 2 had it....or is it their turn next?

FrazzledFairyFay · 16/03/2009 15:59

Hi everyone. I can't believe all these ill children this year , roll on summer .....

Natty, it doesn't have to be a pre-school attached to a school. Private pre-schools can give you the 2.5 hours as well, as can pre-schools in sure start centres, etc. The only thing is, some of the private ones will charge extra, on top of the government funding. It's worth calling the children's information service at the council for a list of pre-schools.

Also, he is entitled to funding from the term following his third birthday, so he would be entitled from next term, assuming his birthday is before the beginning of next term.

FrazzledFairyFay · 16/03/2009 16:00

DS is driving me potty today. He refused to nap despite two tries and, surprise surprise is now over-tired. I can't put him to bed now or he'll never go to bed on time. I have visions of a supper-time/bathtime melt-down ahea. Oh joy .......

FrazzledFairyFay · 16/03/2009 16:01

Natt, just re-read your post - if he's not 3 until late sept then he'll have to wait until sept for funding

FrazzledFairyFay · 16/03/2009 16:02
