Here's to the next nine months!

re laziness it is prob a boy thing -dss says at least once a week how great it is being a baby being fed, carried, changed etc - he looks quite wistful as it is clearly heartfelt.

Essie3 · 03/03/2009 11:36

LOl, should I be worried about DH's love of nappies? He thinks Iestyn's ability to poo obviously and loudly halfway through his dinner, without leaving his seat, is the best thing in the world.

Oh Sponge, huga bozies from the not so normal(at the moment) aberdeen quine, sending you some bubble wrap for you and your little bean.

Ok just have to say YES YES YES YESYEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! nanananananana! Consultant watched video with eyes wide and mouth open she was so delighted, I caught her saying these are great to keep to show, em er keep to look back on, she was going to say to show Olivia teeeheeee she actually FKN believes me now

Will read and catch up properly when I turn back into a grown up might be a few years, Josey is so happy she is chuckling away to herself x

josey · 03/03/2009 12:07

Oh yeah and that woman on TV has she got a blue print of the f**king plans cause Id like to get my hands on them and make some bloody amendments!
Why cant they stop funding folk methadone lock them up and make them suffer, and give Epidurals......clip clop josey rides off into the distance with her high horse.

Amberc · 03/03/2009 13:05

I must stop reading this at work as people think I am a mentalist laughing histerically! it was the fisherman's beard that did me in

I have decided that if I ever need to fight someone I'm getting Josey in to give me a hand!

Moustache update - not looking too bad this morning but I have brown knuckles and white hands from the fake tan. Hey ho.

Spong - fingers crossed for you my love but I was always spotting when I was preggers. When do you get your results?

Epidurals - Paying money for epidurals - what complete bollox. Why? You wouldn't charge someone who'd had a road accident for pain relief would you? Or a cancer patient? It would be impossible to implement - you have a screaming woman in agony with a huge baby and a back to back - what do you do - tell her to breathe or fork out £400? (BTW Poppy yours was a bargain - mine was £500 - I woz robbed!)

Neenz - Luke rocked back and forth for a couple of weeks before he just woke up one morning and could crawl. Won't be long now.

I have been laughing at the thought of driving Medised usage underground and for Essie to become a mule bringing in her stash from Wales!

Where's PP? Haven't seen her for yonks.

Essie3 · 03/03/2009 13:38

ROFL drug mule!

and YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY Josey!

Rolf · 03/03/2009 13:52

The fisherman's beard and the beard made of pubes have me snorting into the computer!

Sponge - post as much as you like, as far as I'm concerned. Hope Spongelet is ok

Being relaxed made a huge difference to me in labour (also midwives I knew, and being at home) but I appreciate that things are very different when your body has done it before.

Josey - great about the appointment and boo sucks to the consultant. Did you manage to avoid gloating?

Essie thanks. I like to exaggerate just a little bit. Also, that photo is quite old and I have put on weight since then. I am quite small boned, short and short-waisted so don't carry extra weight very well at all.

Did someone on here recommend the carbohydrate addict's diet for people who have sweetie cravings? I've been doing that for a couple of weeks and have lost a few kg. I won't go on about it as becoming a diet bore is one of my great fears, second only to my fear of being a fat housewife .

AliandHerScallywag · 03/03/2009 13:54

That is so cool Josey.

I was thinking of texting PP as I had noticed her absence and she hasn't replied to the emails about Saturday. I think I am the only one who can make it. The same goes for HH although I don't have her mobile no. If you are reading this ladies, your absence has been noticed and we miss you! Hope you are both ok.

Rolf · 03/03/2009 14:00

I know I'm about 8 months too late for this, but I think some of you bought the Lin & Leo changing bag? Are you pleased with it? I need a new handbag and was thinking of getting the red one instead of a proper Woman's Bag.

systemsaddict · 03/03/2009 14:31

Hi Rolf, yes the carb addicts' diet was me, I was on it 1999-2006 very happily (and thinly!) and will go straight back on it when Caitlin weans. However, reconciled to the fact that this may take some time, I have started bidding on clothes in my current size on ebay. I feel now she is nearly 9 months I can no longer justify coming to work in trackie bottoms because I've 'just' had a baby!!

poppy34 · 03/03/2009 14:32

josey thats great re consultant ...

edie is eating her travel changing mat - perhaps I should be a bit nore attentive and take it off her

rolf on subject of doing it before how differnet do you think it is? having laboured twice now think it wasnt easier but it was shorter and did know a bit more what to expect (although you do forget quite how intense it is).

right better stop doing this and ring the wharf to see if anyone can clip back the beard...josey if you like I'll keep the bits for the bloke down the road.

Rolf · 03/03/2009 14:43

Poppy in order of crapness of labours:

DD1 (3rd child, 4th labour). Induced at 38 weeks. Crap because they broke my waters to fit in with a protocol and labour became horrifyingly fast and scary. G&A. 2nd degree tear, stitches.

DS1 (1st child, 1st labour). Induced at 41 weeks. Minimal midwife support - when she was there she was fine but she had too many people to look after. Had epidural but even at the time I thought that I really just needed a bit more support. 2nd degree tear, stitches.

DS2 (2nd child, 2nd labour). Spontaneous labour at 40 weeks. Laboured at home then got ambulance to hospital at v last minute. Lovely labour. Felt a bit scared when he crowned but v happy memories of it. G&A towards the end. Small tear. No stitches.

DD2 (4th child, 5th labour). Spontaneous labour at 41 weeks. Unplanned homebirth blah blah. G&A towards the end. Tiny tear, no stitches. I knew and trusted the midwives, had specific relaxation techniques that I'd practiced and thought about (rather than just a vague idea of relaxing). I was scared when we realised she was breech but as soon as the mw said "it's ok, you're fine" I went straight back into my "zone". Honestly was the best day ever. I know that sounds really drippy but it was just wonderful.

Well that was very egocentric wasn't it? So how are y'all?

poppy34 · 03/03/2009 14:47

no that was useful - how are you all?

[typing with one eye under baby who looks like she may go under the bed]

Essie3 · 03/03/2009 15:29

Agree with Poppy, really useful and interesting. I've been chatting on e-mail with one of my best friends currently pregnant.

I'm the one with the Lin&Leo bag, in red! The red one is the best IMO. It's a brilliant bag, one of the best things I've bought for the baby (!!) Roomy, opens all the way down, has short handles and a long one to sling over your shoulder/over the pram, and sections. I've been stopped in the street by people to ask what it is. Doesn't look like a changing bag, is a generally useful bag. It also doesn't look like a 'handbag' - I have issues with that too! The only downsides - and they're minor - are (a) the weight, but then a big bag weighs more and it has more to do with the stuff in it! and (b) the metal links clink sometimes!! I love it.

Rolf · 03/03/2009 16:11

poppy34 · 03/03/2009 16:17

am very pleased with the pacapod I bought

josey · 03/03/2009 16:19

PMSL Rolf, I actually chuckled to myself and thought maybe his is doing something funny for comic relief then sudderd and hoped they wouldnt show him before the watershed

Marketing/sales for natural Aloe Vera, so if any of you need wonder poisions you know where to come

neenztwinz · 03/03/2009 16:25

Josey - well done at the hospital! Glad you are feeling so good about it.

Poppy, as long as it is not all black ie has some other colour in it too I think it is fine for a wedding. Esp one in winter/spring when it is not warm enough for flowery floaty things!

Thanks for all the reassurance about the Dts development. I don;t mind them not being first or fast with everything as long as they are not behind. I have no worries about them really, I just worry about my abilities!
They are being really demanding today - still not crawling, I am sure it will get eeasier when they can.

spongebrainbigpants · 03/03/2009 17:01

Hi guys, well blood results came back - 27,000 !

They actually I think I'm more pg than I first thought and they want to scan me on Thursday. This Thursday. Less than 48 hrs away .

Ohmigod.

I'm sooo nervous. I so want this to happen but am so scared that we'll get there and see yet another baby with no heartbeat.

Someone give me a proverbial slap, please!

spongebrainbigpants · 03/03/2009 17:01

Oh, and josey, oli rocks!

abdnhiker · 03/03/2009 17:04

sponge I had a lot of bleeding when I was pregnant with DS1, I hope it turns out to just be a scare!

abdnhiker · 03/03/2009 17:08

sponge how about a cuddle instead of a slap?

parofleurmapu · 03/03/2009 17:09

aaaaaahhhhh you all chat too much hehe

Epidurals- I had i aleays said i would and being induced my midwife told me you will want one!! and i id i lasted 9 hrs without though but dont think could of lasted the other10 hrs it took for Fleur to be born without anything!!!

TTC No way here im keeping my legs firmly shut for a while think we have enough happening this year already !!!!!

Neenz ddont worry bout Dts Fleur doesnt crawl or stnad up either though she has just began to stand holding on to things just but has no interest whatsoever in crawling or moving!! and she is one of oldest too 9 months today more or less. Also ive been told that if you didnt crawl then neither will they. I just got up one day and walked.!!!

Poppy I personally wouldnt mind if you wore black but then people are wearing what they like to mine my dad is wearing black shirt and so might Dp Aunt and Uncle are coming in fancy dress!!! fab!

On egeocentric note please look at blog theres a fab video of fleur laughing at Dp i miised the live version but it nearly beats that kid on google tearing paper
