Morning all. Somewhat difficult one here. Lil man asleep just before ten, awake at 1030, up till nearly one, awake again 4.30, then really difficult to resettle so I was in and out of bed like a jack-in-th-box for about anhour.

sibh so good to see you. gentle (but manly) pats on the back to your DS
Expectant sorry to hear you'r having to deal with PND. you'll always get support here though.

poppysocks · 19/02/2009 08:55

Oh expectant, I had no idea. You mustn't stay away. We're here to (try to!) help you. I know the instinct to stay away though. I had a down week or so in January and knew that I could find help on here but still stayed away. Please don't. And yes, I agree, stepping away from Google is the only way forward!

Glad the christening was lovely sibh. So satisfying when hard work pays off, isn't it! Hope DS feels happier at school soon. Sounds like he has his head well and truly screwed on though so will find a way through his difficult fellow pupils.

Morning hp. Coffee? It's good stuff. New machine. Yum.

poppysocks · 19/02/2009 09:00

X-post there ann and sazzles. Coffee for all...

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 19/02/2009 09:06

Mornin' all. Three bad nights in a row - DD all smiles but DH a grumpy so and so. Worse still t'interweb connection disappeared for a day and a half and when it came back yesterday DH insisted that we watch DVDs on my laptop instead of me mning doing important stuff.

In the meantime flights booked to the UK for Monday, big bro subbing me. But still I was very that in the time it took me to eat my lunch on Monday all the cheap seats had gone. AND the price for an infant had gone from 3 euros to 30 euros - I can't see how they worked that one out. My seat price doubled and hers went up by 1'000%

Still cheaper than sleazyjet. A strongly worded letter to the BA peoples me thinks.

Soooooooooooooo how you all doing?

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 19/02/2009 09:12

Gah talking rubbish - flight on Monday.

And a Bonne Anniversaire to all those birthday ladies. Can't you tell those French lessons are really paying off!

We started weaning - kind of - this week. Izzy gets a toast crust at breakfast, a bit of banana at elevenses and a carrot at lunch. DH was sceptical at firt but on today's nappy evidence I can tell you she really is eating some of it - mostly carrot I think.

Talking of which - time for tea and 'nana.

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 19/02/2009 09:33

Morning All

Who the heck thought a cot was a clever move??? she can stay in her moses basket until she is 16. If I got more than 45mins at a go last night it was a bonus. remove foot from bars pat shh sleep, remove head from corner pat shh sleep, remove arm from bars pat shh sleep, feed, turn upright pat shh sleep, remove windup cot mobile, as DD discovers if she hits it it plays pat shh sleep..... continue until 6am then feed and sleep in our bed until 7.15 when she woke me up by patting my face.

Sibh - please Christenng went well soory to hear DS still having a tough time.

be back soon milk monster calling!

AnnVan · 19/02/2009 10:58

Hi Oops sorry you had a rough night. Are you going back to the basket then?

Morning steak good to see you again.

Oh dear - I really need a shower. Little man awake though.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/02/2009 12:22

Hi everyone.
Expectant so sorry to hear you are a having tough time at the moment with PND, I agree with everyone, google can be a bad thing, and we are always hear to listen and help if we can.

sazzles so fpr your dd1, it is heartbraking when you cant make them better. I hope these antibiotics do something.
Have her teeth come through yet??
dd is cutting the 4, 3 of them have just poked through, but she is no longer distressed in the night??
I am sure it was dizzy that mentioned nightmares/night terrors. Is it this or just general waking upset??

steak glad you got your seats booked but at rapid price increase.

poppy so sorry to hear about the hernia, you must be worried sick, CC experiemce sounds abit comforting, stay away from google. Good idea maybe search threads for anyone else experience.

ts hope the bithdays went well yesterday. What did you do??

oops that was very rude of that person, is (miamla* sorting you out.

sibh thank you for thinking of us. so pleased to hear the christening went well, and bless your ds, he sounds adorable.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/02/2009 12:25

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/02/2009 12:30

dizzy i would love a link to this farm sounds fab.

sazzles went shopping but yet again got nothing for me seems such an effort trying things on, as dcs always seem to kickoff as soon as i am naked in the changing room.
so dd got 2 dkny tops.
Dh has kindly offered to have them both friday if i want to go off anyway on my own. bout bleeding time.
Although i prob wont as dont know what to do with myself.
think i feel very odd without a pram to hide behind push.
miamla did you get the curtains sorted?

hotterpotter · 19/02/2009 12:39

No1 no need to be of my lie-in, DS was up at 12, 2, 4.30, 5.30 then downstairs at 6.30 with him and DD so am knackered again already! Were you saying the other day your DS seems to be just comfort sucking? That is totally what my DS is doing - he falls back to sleep almost as soon as he's got my nipple in his mouth. Don't really know what to do; if I try just to soothe him with sshh pat he yells and then DD wakes...

alittlebitshy · 19/02/2009 12:41

morning (oh no, it's not, it's afternoon .

ds was up once in the proper night. Dh settled him and he sent himself back to slwwp

petitfilowersandchocolates · 19/02/2009 13:28

cyteen I'm eating similar amounts hence why I'm still 11 stone!

Have had good half term so far but today I'm finally beginning to crumble. Went to Blenheim Palace for the day yesterday with my mum and it was great but it was exhausting and I think I overdid it. Am so tired, have lost my voice, have a horrible cold and could sleep for a week (I think the same as some of the rest of you though...)

My mum did a classic this morning and gave Toby a pear slice. I said 'it is too hard for him' several times whereupon he choked on it and vomited up the entire milk feed I'd given him half an hour before. She did say sorry and that perhaps it wasn't her best idea Toby didn't seem in the slightest bit bothered thankfully.

I can also report that the children are hidying. I asked them to tidy their farm stuff away and they put it all under one of the chairs out of sight. Had to laugh really.

expectant I've had PND so can sympathise. Feel free to talk about it. A lot of mothers have it so certainly don't feel you are in any way on your own.

sazz be very very VERY careful with the colouring, I did the very same thing last year and all it did was show up the grey silver in my hair and was duely changed back the very next appt, which, funnily enough, was sooner than usual

your cut is very swishy though
oops sorry for suggesting move to cot

No1 shall facebook you a link to the farm

VG glad you arrived ok, am assuming DS1 did fine on the train?

sibh christening sounds WONDERFUL, well done!

right have to dash for school run, be back later to continue with my inanedrivel chat !

Hey girls, hope everyone is doing ok? Does anyone's baby not have ANY teeth yet, or is it just mr-slow-as-you-like-I'll-take-my-time-thanks-very-much-Oliver?

Waiting for estate agent to ring back and confirm that she is instructing our potential buyer that we accept their offer!!! I shall keep praying nevertheless, that it all goes through smoothly.

alittlebitshy · 19/02/2009 17:35

ugh feel rough with cold

expectant i am not sure if i'm struggling with PND, plain old depression (of old for me) or a hormonal reaction to having gone nack on depo. Whichever i'm feeling/acting like crap. Got anti-deps from gp ten days ago but haven't had courage to take yet. Think tonight will be the night....

cyteen · 19/02/2009 17:42

Sibh great to hear from you and well done on such a brilliant christening. Not to mention your lovely DS, he sounds such a grown up boy More sensible than most of the grown ups I know, tbh.

CC thumbs up for the offer, hurrah!

Sazz why not go for a completely new shade? I think you'd look good as a deep coffee-coloured brunette.

Think my hair must have heard me badmouthing it as it has suddenly started to look good again

oops we use a cellular blanket (or two) over Joe's grobag at night and he never moves an inch. Mind you, nor does he when he's just in his bag, the big pudding.

pf may you be showered in calorie-free cake and reinvigorating back rubs.

Expectant sorry to hear you're having a hard time of it. Have you got friendly support out there? Like the others have said, we're always here for you if nothing else

Been out shopping for girls' clothes today as we forgot our little niece's birthday It was very exciting, I never usually get to look at the pretty things. Just managed to stop myself from going on a spree and instead bought a very cute summery dress (blue flowery cotton) and deep blue cardie to go with it

Re. weaning, I can certainly confirm that food is going in! as have just cleared up the most extraordinary poo. It had even managed to escape a little bit around the edge of the Airflow and there were chunks aplenty (sorry, TMI, but I am strangely proud). Don't know why I'm surprised as anything you offer him goes straight in his mouth. Except a spoon, of course, he won't have that. I tried him with some baby porridge this morning and he cried Never mind, I can always use it to regrout the bathroom.

cyteen · 19/02/2009 17:44

CC no teeth here yet either, just the jagged edge of a top tooth lurking under the gum.

dizzydixies · 19/02/2009 19:04

CC 4 teeth although I'd rather none as she's getting a bit nippit glad all seems to be going well with the house but won't stop crossing everything until signed, sealed etc etc

VG thank you for that, have forwarded it on to my friend who has emailed everyone, we'll hopefully have somewhere sorted soon.

Expectant I had terrible pnd after DD2, a build up of loads of things for me and all of a sudden I was in a right state. Please keep talking to us, there isn't one of us who doesn't know what you're going through at one time or another and if we can help we will

ALBS if you've been given your anti-ds please start taking them as they take a while to kick in imo - there's nothing to be frightened of, it could balance out a hormone imbalance and jobs done

Cyteen wee dress sounds lovely - I also like looking at boys stuff although I got Dylan a lovely wee dungaree set today whilst DH took the girls swimming

Dylan down, other two about to be put down and then I have to sit in the corner and rock back and forwards at the thought of PIL arriving in a weeks time [meep]

AnnVan · 19/02/2009 19:29

cc definitelt no teeth through here at all. Why does he have to be such hard work in the evening?
