dizzy My sympathies - although dd bit me when she was 8 months old and the milk supply was immediately withdrawn, she was put down on the floor and shouted at and she never did it again

albs Also agree with dizzy on the anti ds

cyteen Being showered in calorie free cake is a strange image I did have to have an emergency Flake this afternoon. There was none of the eating it/making love to it in the bath ala the old adverts though, it was straight in and gone in about 3 seconds

I am whacked tonight so having an early night (a very early night)

For those doing purees may I recommend pea and potato - most popular so far apart from 'nana

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/02/2009 19:57

albs I agree with dizzy start taking as they do take some time. However doctor once told me when she prescribed them, not to expect a sudden lift in mood, she said think of myself as like a fuel tank, like I am constantly running on empty, she said when the tabs kick in I will feel like the tank is slowly filling. Not sure if that makes sense, but it did to me and helped alot.
Sorry to hear you are feeling down, and full of cold too.

hotter yes M is doing the comfort suck thing and falling asleep, I keep swapping sides to stimulate/wake him but it doesnt work, so I lay him back down and he wakes again within half hour to an hour. Frustrating.

No teeth here yet either cc but night waking could be teething.

ds has had sweet pot,celariac,parsnip,prunes.
System overload I think, but he kept grapping at it. we will see what tonight brings. (nappies have changed anyway)
so cyteen I am with you on that one.

ann good look for settling and a good night sleep.
I am itching to buy some new nappies or some funky wraps.

TwilightSurfer · 19/02/2009 19:57

Captain NO TEETH yet. I can see them through the skin but they haven't popped up.

Expectant {{{HUGS}}} sometimes i wonder if i'm not dealing with a little pnd these days.

ALBS dizzy has a point...the meds do take a little bit to establish themselves. {{{HUGS}}}

Sibh very nice nice about the christening.

Waves to everyone.

Having a hard time typing (and reading) because Reese is grabbing everything off my desk and shoving it into her mouth.

ON that note...solids haven't happened today BUT I've been good to offer one jar of baby food each day for a week.

Thanks for all the nice notes here and on FB. Birthday thingy wasn't without issue but all in all it was good. The cake EXCELLENT.

Sazzles that tantrum video had me rolling!!

TwilightSurfer · 19/02/2009 19:58

OMG! Tooth just popped through the skin while I was rubbing her gums. ONE TOOTH and ONE SCREAMING REESE!!

OP posts:
no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/02/2009 19:59

oh yes that video I too was pmsl. I had to watch it twice, dd came to see and started crying when it had finished, shouting 'baby' 'baby'

ts glad all went well.
Have you sorted out the flooring for the kitchen???

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/02/2009 20:02

x post pf pea and pot sounds good.

re biting. DD bit me when she was around 9 months. I yelled as it was very unexpected, she self weaned after that. think I frightened her. we were on holiday too.I had never heard of the nursing strike thing then neither, so didnt persevere very much.

lol at emergency flake.
My friend kept buying me emergency wispas, which I hid in my car.
Still no crisps and chocolate here. I dont know how I am doing this tbh.

AnnVan · 19/02/2009 20:08

no1 excellent news on the chocolate strike.
Forgot to mention - I've got three coloured Sandy's now, and they are sooooo gorgeous. The orange one is particularly lovely.

I had fish in Morrisons cafe this afternoon, and I think it has disagreed with me feel distinctly off.

Ts - poor Reese, that must have been a shock, bless her.

Oh and about biting, Seb is doing this quite frquently at the moment. Very painful.

cyteen · 19/02/2009 20:09

I also lol'd at 'emergency Flake'

Sorry to harp on about poo, but has anyone else's LO started straining? Joe has been straining on and off all day - didn't seem like a massive problem but looked a bit uncomfortable - I can't decide whether it was all building up to the 4pm megapoo or if it's just something new he's learned to do and enjoys doing

petitfilowersandchocolates · 19/02/2009 20:11

TS Sorry I seem to have missed your birthday so happy belated birthday!

On that YouTube clip -all I can offer is a wry smile as been there, done that, got the t shirt! Ds1 had awe inspiring tantrums as a toddler. dd didn't go the same way so we'll see what Toby does.

no1 Not tried celeriac - how did that go? I am a big fan myself. Much more boring here, just sweet potato, apple, carrot, banana, blueberry/banana and pea/potato. Now need to shop for more veg etc

Am off to have a bath. Have a good evening. Dh home tomorrow - hooray - not sure I could have coped with another day ....

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/02/2009 20:12

ann where did you get the sandys from?? I am very tempted.

Hope you are not ill after the fish

ts wow on the tooth.

petitfilowersandchocolates · 19/02/2009 20:12

cyteen Straining tends to be a sign of constipation - time to get the prunes out

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/02/2009 20:15

pf I did some steamed and some roasted, He seemed to like it. He loved the Avocado yesterday.
cyteen does he have water?? a little may help

AnnVan · 19/02/2009 20:16

Cyteen - Seb often does a lot of straining and squirming when he needs to poo or fart, but he's always done it.

No1 I got the sandy's from Little green earthlets £7.50 each

TwilightSurfer · 19/02/2009 20:19

PF it was the girls 5 & 6m bdays...mine's on monday. as for the straining...reese has gone through that on several occasions.

no1 my new kitchen floor will be installed by march 4th and it will be (drum role please) travertine. i sunk the budget and got a pro & real high quality flooring.

reese is now out cold in my arms. i jumped up and gave her some tylenol for the pain. she was really wailing. but WOW her first tooth!!!

OP posts:
sambo303triesforScotland · 19/02/2009 20:20

ann Felix also has been biting me with his gums, ouch!, no teeth yet cc

sazzles that video was brilliant, i almost cant wait for toddlerhood, we must get a video recorder!

Very for those suffering depression and low moods {{hugs}}
I've been feeling not quite myself the last few weeks, not wanting to leave the house and such... not like me really. Made myself get out today - had to get some belated xmas presents for dp's family as we are setting off at 6am (hoho!) and travelling to Middlesbrough. Have not packed yet.
Have to get the next size up grobag, makes me feel a bit

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/02/2009 20:22

OOH ts I love Travertine, we have it in our bathroom (although very small bathroom) My mum however has it in 2 bathrooms on floor and walls. It looks fab.(very cold though)

ann I am very tempted now, off to have a look

PF - DD loved our pea soup - peas, garlic, salt free stock and a little onion, now you know why the HV said I was over flavouring her.
She has has banana, apple, broccoli, pear, peas, toast (she ate 1/2 a slice yesterday over about 45 minutes)oat porridge, ricecakes and it all seems to be going through. No big changes in nappies - still BFish and sweet smelling. ooh and forgot she loved chewing on a dried apple ring and apricot.

TS great news on the tooth front. We still only have the rogue eye tooth point.

Albs I have no experience of AD's but please listen to those who have {{HUGS}}

Ann Hope you don't get ill after the fish and that Seb behaves for you and sleeps a bit tonight.

DD in her sleeping bag and tied gently tucked in to bed.

Early night for me - DD napped for 2 hours this morning, unsurprisingly, but I just couldn't sleep. Have personal trainer in the morning so need to look refreshed and perky

Evening, will catch up after I'd made some muffins.

Went to a special needs consultation event thingy today with family fun activities - was great! The kids just did their own thing, loads of activities and playworkers to keep an eye on them, visiting farm animals (eating the spaghetti messy play), messy play and Dave 'Big Dave' Benson Philips was there (from CBBC many moons ago and Playhouse Disney.) Kurt was his usual good-as-gold self and I got to put my 2centsworth in on the consultation (big bucks coming for SN provision in the area and they needed feedback on their draft strategy.) Free lunch too. Wish they could do it every month, they could do lectures on flower arranging and I'd go. Best bit was the sensory room, I now want to turn my bedroom into one of those.

CC Kurt's got no teeth but my others got their first bang on 7months with no fuss whatsoever. Fingers crossed on your housebuying.

Albs Can you take St John's Wort while BFing do you know? Supposed to be a lot fewer initial side effects than SSRIs.

Cyteen LOL at poo evidence. Found a hempseed from my homemade bread in Kurt's nappy so it's definitely working here too. I can also see him straining now, again a relief because DS1 can't even feel his liquid efforts. God I can't tell you how much I love this baby's poo!!!

Dizzy "Nippit" LOL. I could listen to you and your Scottishness all day.

sambo303triesforScotland · 19/02/2009 20:31

no1 you kindly asked how last night was, I'm afraid it was similar to the night before with ds wanting to shout and sing at 3am and me taking him through to the spare room to allow dp a little sleep, ds then fed a couple more times before his 7am getting up time. Sort of given up trying to work out what's going on with him/how to sort it. Hoping that in time he will sleep for longer...a bit trepidatious about the weekend away as we will be driving for hours on possibly very little sleep.

TwilightSurfer · 19/02/2009 20:31

personal trainer

fajitas

chocolate....i have that

off to munch and clean out closets so carpet dude can install new carpet in my bedroom tomorrow.

be back later

LoveBuckets · 19/02/2009 20:32

Sazzles Please name that new cream, getting nowhere with DS1's and will be a while before (if ever) we get him 100% dairyfree to test that connection.

sambo303triesforScotland · 19/02/2009 20:32

sazzles I am also supping on some delicious Chilean red - yum

no1 very impressed with the no crisps/choc, I have suddenly become very ravenous and am eating cyteen amounts of food each day.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 19/02/2009 20:39

sambo hope you get some rest tonight before your early start and long drive.
I am amazed I am not even tempted for crisps, but just seen dh eat a kitkat and was slightly tempted.
Still hungry inbetween some meals, but doing well to ignore,or a drink usually helps.

sazzles I do hope that works, and she seems better in the morning, I have been thinking about her all the time, bless.
*Marcus seems to be going a long time between milk feedsin the day again. Today he had 1st at 6am then didnt feed again till 2ish I offered but refused (had a few sucks at 11ish)
He doesnt have solids till tea time so its not like he is full from this.
Lack of milk in day is prob why he is making up in night.
buckets your day sounded great, great news on the funds too. Do you think they could do a regular day like that??
