Been to Blenheim Palace today - they are doing a 12 month free pass for the price of one day's entry - was too good to miss dh very excited by prospect of money saving

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 21/02/2009 20:40

Evening

Today seems to have been the day for spring cleaning - we have been through the garage and the loft stuff which has been hidying in DH's stores at work. I found all my things from when I was little boxes of things I brought over from South Africa that haven't been opened in 12 years! I was amamzing to find letters from friends and diaries. Oh for the days before e-mail!

Sazzles - please to hear DD1's rash seems to be clearing.

Ann - not laptop - how will you post from the sofa now??

Hi HP - it was a fab day for being out and about after what seems like weeks of cold/wet/windy un-baby friendly weather.

House is spotless, We have dug the rdge of a new flowerbed in the front of he house to disguise the new fence which is very very new looking.

We are going away next weekend for our Anniversary to the Isle of Wight there is a fab hotel on the beach and they are fab with littlies - DD can come into dinner with us. without having to eat at 6pm.

It is spookily quiet without Dizzy and TS.

DH gone to get a Chinese.

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 21/02/2009 20:41

Hi PF - are you going to do a Buckets on us?

PetitFilou1 · 21/02/2009 20:59

oops I wish Certainly not starting next week as dh away all week..... He has done two hours of ironing today in advance, as penance (self imposed I might add)

PetitFilou1 · 21/02/2009 21:00

Off to write thank you cards.....for ds1s 5th birthday......that will get thrown in the bin as soon as they are received (sigh)

Oh ok fair enough - I used to say I'd be tempted when we lived near Wimbledon to do same thing (the renting out not the cleaning!)

dizzydixies · 21/02/2009 21:31

evening all sorry for having fallen off face, just been busy managing to get nothig done and going nowhere

glad everyone well, all fine here. DH working, DD1 got a gymnastics coaching session all afternoon tomorrow, DD2 still lovely and challenging and Dylan doing fine

is anyone else having problems with the weaning? Dylan refusing anything from a spoon unless we sneak it in which is not something I care to keep doing

managed to have a decent conversation with my dad today without wanting to ring his neck he apparently went in to town yesterday to buy a bottle of perfume. I was a bit worried as its their anny on the 27th and I didn't know what was going on but he's bought it for me as last time I was down I couldn't remember how my mum smelt. Its a very kind and thoughful gift, I might not miss her every minute of every hr of every day as I didn't see her that often but I sometimes forget that he does

right I have toothache and I keep poking at it to make sure that its still sore

PetitFilou1 · 21/02/2009 21:36

Awww dizzy that was very kind of your dad

re the weaning, dd did that but prob not until she was a bit older (somewhere between 8 and 10 months) Ds1 also so I'm expecting it with Toby. Did you not go through this with the other two dds? I just switched to finger food with dd as knew there was no point having the battle and she is a really good eater now whereas ds1 is fussy beyond belief

dizzydixies · 21/02/2009 21:45

pf I wouldn't mind but we'd started on finger food which was no problem, then she was ill and stopped solids all together and we were going back to them BUT as she had little interest in the finger food we were trying a mix of BLW and purees - will just need to be more patient

Sazz Dylan takes more from DH than me too so shall use that to my advantage when he's here

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 21/02/2009 22:08

We have the opposie problem here - DD shuts her mouth firmly whenever DH tried to feed her or give her her cup. If I am in the room she will suck on her cup but as soon as I leave she stops and looks at DH as if to say 'what are you looking at?'

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 21/02/2009 22:10

Sorry to hear about the toothache Dizzy. What a sweet gesture from your dad {{{HUGS}}}

ataraxis · 21/02/2009 22:11

Evening ladies, hope you are well.

Very at sazzles money earner, doing not much but using up a few baby wipes in a non-conventional manner. Where are you going when they have your house [nosey]?

dizzy, I do that with hurty things too - think it is a very odd form of masochism reassurance.

pf, give it a year, I make ds1 do his own now

In a blatent show of proud mumminess I have put a photo up of the three of them for you guys to see them together. Not normally something I do, but I love this photo.

Have posted in the sleep topic - not sure how to link it but if you have any suggestions they will be gratefully tried.

cyteen · 21/02/2009 22:15

dizzy LOL at "DD2 still lovely and challenging"

Re. weaning, Joe remains resolute that he will not be spoon fed...this is fine with me tbh as he is enthusiastic about trying anything DP or I hand to him Not sure when they're supposed to start picking stuff up and eating it though - at the moment his highchair tray might as well not exist (although he always wants whatever is on our plates ).

Cyteen - DD won't have the spoon either unless she can do it herself resulting in breakfast everywhere but she will suck her porridge off a ricecake so that is how we get breakfast done then she is allowed to play with the spoon and bowl to finish it off.

Today she had avocado - I scooped it out of the skin and was handing her bits when she snatched the skin and sucked the rest out of it. I am not looking forward to tomorrows nappy with the missing bits of avo skin in it.

Sazzles very of your holiday!
