Realising that she has accidentally been cheerful, she adds ' Oh drat.'

Sibh · 07/02/2009 11:51

DD2 splashing in the bath.
DD1 keeping up a running commentary in sympathetic tones: 'Oh dear, she's going to drown. Oh dear, she's going to drown.'

Does anyone have Mary Poppins' phone number?
Does Oops do emergency call-outs?

I think I am going to fall over any minute. I am STILL AWAKE. Now both DCs are up. DH....well you can guess where he is.

I tried watching tv. Note to self: taped greys and private practice does not induce sleep. I am not uploading pics to order real printed ones. I must be out of my mind because I never do that.

Thanks VG. I'm looking forward to the game actually. 17:00 is 12:00 here. Maybe I'll be awake.

Sibh · 07/02/2009 13:42

Hi VG - poor DS. He must feel a bit under siege. Are you feeling any better yourself? It is very exciting to be starting the food. I got my BLW book through yesterday and got a bit over-excited ...

DD1 has been escorted from the building by DH who is rolling his eyes at the prospect of having her for an hour. Yes, one hour out of the week must be v. v. stressful.
There are lots of holy souls being fast-tracked here today, and the in-laws aren't coming until next weekend.

I've a chocolate cake to make now for the christening ... I think DD2 might have to join me in the sling as she is roaring, poor poppet.

Sazz how exciting re. toast. I saw my first evidence of digested food in a nappy this week - those brown stringy post-banana things. Was all 'oooh!' and 'eeuurrgh' at the same time.

sambo that is interesting, where did you hear it? I used to work as a med sec in a paediatrics dept and learned some quite curious things while typing letters. There were definitely some grey areas with certain patients and their families when it came to diagnosis - a minority of parents who seemed v keen to medicalise their kid's difficult behaviour and, sadly in some cases, medicate for it (NB am NOT accusing anyone here of this at all). But then it is so hard because behaviour isn't quantifiable, there are so many other factors that can influence how a child acts/reacts...it's tricky.

That's gorgeous VG. DD2 has a lovely dress we used for DD1. The christening has been organised in a bit of a mad rush because I'd forgotten that the sister of mine who is godmother would want it done before she has her own new baby in April. Then we had to fit it around the PILs too.

It's next weekend, but I'm trying to cook and freeze so that I am not doing my headless chicken routine in front of the inlaws. So I made hundreds of chicken goujons last night and I'll do them with home-made pizzas for the children. I'm making cakes this weekend and then chillis and lasagne in the week.

DH can't help at all because work is so hectic. His TY (lower-sixth) drama group have qualified for the semi-finals of the national TY drama competition which is fantastic, but he's up to his ears in rehearsals.

DD2 is on my knee now doing her gentle, quizzical thing. Ooh, she's scrumptious.

Afternoon all. Back from town and DH has taken Iz out for their Saturday stroll. The idea being that she will be in a good mood for me to watch the England match. After that I am on duty for the France match - which is around her bedtime anyway.

sazzles - intersting about the calendula cream. Iz has very dry skin on her cheeks, but it doesn't bother her so I haven't worried too much. But your magic potion sounds like it might help.

VG - a very dapper outfit. I think MIL is a bit disappointed we aren't getting Izzy christened, only because she has a family robe she was waving about when the baby was born. Neither DH or I go to church so it would seem a bit wrong to have a Christening when we don't really believe.

Izzy has a knew sound today, it is a high pitched squeal, it sounds like she should be complaining but if you squeal back she thinks it is a great game.

Hello everyone Just popping my head around the door to catch up. Cooker has just about died...going to persuade dh we need to replace it NOW before we are cooker-less.

Catch up properly later when dh is in the pub!

AnnVan · 07/02/2009 14:34

Morning all.
I have a cold. Little man has a cold. DP catching our cold. Grrrr.
Have sooo much to do today. Need to get current washing out machine, put nappies in to wash then do at least another 2 loads of laundry. Also have to do washing up, try restore order to dining room and living room. Plus am going to be making a massive batch of blognese sauce to freeze (in portions) and the mince sauce for a cottage pie. How much will I actualy get done I wander?

Don't know who to support Rugby wise. I'm such a mongrel, I could easily support England, Wales and France.

Sazzles which cream is it you have? I'm looking for something which will help Seb's constant red rash and dry skin.

Allezlesbluessteaknife · 07/02/2009 14:47

Can I ask you wise ladies for your opinions please.

Izzy has been sleeping in one of these the first item on the page - an envelope style sleeping bag, we leave the top undone so it doesn't cover her head.

I am a bit worried that when she starts rolling that if she rolls over her face will be on the blanket bit and it might cause a problem for her to breathe.

Am I being over anxious?

We have a couple of grobags but only one is warm enough for the weather here and we don't have any proper blankets either - only light ones from Spain.

DH thinks I am making a fuss.

VG the Parlour was 550 euro for the Monday to the Friday which was ok, a bit more than we'd like but ok but when we mapped it, it was showing about 45 minutes from Greystones and we'd ideally like to be a bit closer

that one you've linked too is apparently only 40 minutes away so I'll keep that in mind thank you

poor Dylan getting much the same as your DS2 with constant eye bathing, alternate neurofen/calpol and antib drops fingers crossed for them both having a speedy recovery!

hope your DP has wrapped up warm for the rugby, I've a few spare tickets am going to be selling for the Scotland match if he's interested lol

ann easy now, with all that to get through you don't want to be making your cold any worse by over doing it

Sazz I cannot believe I didn't think to recommend Calendula cream sorry, tis another of my staples in there with the tea tree/ teethas and arnica!!

steaky Dylan has the very same squeal that she enjoys too - that and puking on me today is great fun apparently I wouldn't worry too much about your 'envelope' as when she's able to roll over she should be able to roll back again? I think!!

CC any more news on last night's viewers? keeping everything crossed for an offer for you

cyteen · 07/02/2009 15:54

steaky Joe also makes the squealing noise, he loves it. dizzy he has also sicked in my hair today. This was less fun

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 07/02/2009 15:57

cyteen I have one lovely cushion, just one. its a pale green silk one from Habitat, a wedding present - the rest of my soft furnishings are not as pretty/loved by me and of course she got that, my only remaining pair of clean jeans, my vest top and none on herself

am not sure whethere to be annoyed or impressed by her self preservation with regards to her own outfit

very good advice Sazz, it can be a bit strong but if you think it might help at all you could always dilute it in a base cream?

am impressed with your efforts too, all I've managed to do is take DD1 to dancing, get the car washed, few ends from ASDA, sort their lunch without waking DH and am now watching some rugby while the girls are amused with some play doh and Dylan sleeps

my eyes feel permanently half shut at the moment
