my own fault for being sucked in by letting sleeping dogs lie

AARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

dizzydixies · 14/02/2009 21:45

sorry pf missed that - glad you're having a lovely evening

DH just texted me to say he's finally sitting down to his homemade soup - bless him

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 14/02/2009 22:08

Dizzy - Do you want to send her here?? DH needs a little person to play with - he wants to wake ours as she was in bed before he came home! If you run her on a lead to here she should have calmed down for a nice peaceful night .

dizzydixies · 14/02/2009 22:19

she's on her way by fedex

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 14/02/2009 22:40

Dizzy - we have an account so send her recipient pays all charges - no point in you paying to get rid of her!

going to get some sleep before she arrives. night night

Tis a Virtual CHOCOLATE Birthday Cake.
Don't forget to blow out the candles (before the thread goes up in FLAMES.)

Ooooh don't tell CC (or TS) but I have nibbled a corner of the cake, was very yummy don't worry I've spread the icing out a bit, don't think they'll notice

Hope everyone is having a big lie-in

TwilightSurfer · 15/02/2009 07:18

I thought I heard nibblings going on. I could hear it from bed and had to get up to see what it was.

LOL! Now ya'll think I'm psycho.

Really I up because first Reese woke to eat, then DD1 woke to throw a tantrum, then I had to pee, then I was thirsty, then I decide I might as well work a little more on the wall patch (which is almost done) in the kitchen, then my nose started running and I started sneezing, then a crazy thought ran through my head so I had to pop on the computer to email my cousin, then since I was already on the computer I figured I might as well pop on the thread to see who was posting at 7am.

Hi!

Okay NOW ya'll think I'm psycho.

No TS we have all known for a long time that you are a psycho

CCsbdayisthedayaftervalentines · 15/02/2009 09:19

Morning! Thanks sooo much for the birthday cake TS, It looks delicious.

Ds1 helped me to open my presents whilst dh and ds2 sat and watched.

Got a party for ds1 to go to today, then we are going out for lunch with my folks, then dh and I get to go to the pub later whilst mum babysits for the kids YAY.

36 what a nipper eh?!

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 15/02/2009 09:22

itwasCYTEENagewedding · 15/02/2009 11:07

Happy birthday Cavey

AnnVan · 15/02/2009 12:30

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Cap'n!!

sambo303triesforScotland · 15/02/2009 14:23

happy birthday cc hope you have a wonderful day.

very impressed with no1 and cyteen and vg card making, I keep meaning to get round to this - my brother's birthday is tomorrow ...should make an attempt today

hope all had alovely vd day - we left ds with my parents from 11.30 to 6pm (got home at 7 and immediately had to express ...ouch!). We had a lovely meal at Jamie Olivers cafe then saw slumdog millionaire (decided to cough up after all). It was a brilliant film, loved it.

sadly the n ight went badly, cue massive argument with dp again re weaning ds/we've got to do something/Im desperate now/give him formula/you dont have to go to work etc etc feel glum, why wont my baby sleep? Feel this is karma, should go around helping people more like Sazzles...??

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 15/02/2009 15:26

HAPPY BIRTHDAY* CAVEY

Hope you have had a woionderful day and enjoy your Kiddiesless pub outing.

pertelote · 15/02/2009 15:35

Poor thing Sambo, but please don't go thinking like that... you're a good person, doing your best like all of us - you've not been beating up any little old ladies recently have you?! And it wouldn't keep your DS awake at night if you had.

poppysocks · 15/02/2009 16:54

Happy Birthday CC!

Sorry to hear that your VD ended not so well, sambo. It will pass (easy for me to say I know...). In the meantime, is there anything that you'd be prepared to do to show that you're listening to DP? Perhaps let DS chomp on a carrot stick? He's not far off 6 months now I think? Sorry if I'm speaking out of turn. Just know that when in that sort of situation with my DH, a small gesture to show that I've heard him, (even if I'm not going to relent ) often does more good than harm.

Hope the christening is lovely sibh and by the time you read this everyone else has done the washing up, put the DCs to bed and you have your feet up with a glass of wine.

sambo303triesforScotland · 15/02/2009 17:14

thank you pertelote and poppy
you are right poppy and I have agreed to 'feeding' ds carrot, broccoli and cucumber sticks tonight. DP fed him a toast crust this am, what could I say? Fed up arguing. Dp is right I suppose that 6 months is a guideline. I will not be feeding ds til the 6 month mark during the day but I cant stop dp doing what he wants, he says ds is ready in his opinion and that's that.

pertelote · 15/02/2009 17:29

Good advice poppy. Sambo, if you give DS finger foods like that and he isn't ready, he just won't eat them! Even if he is enthusiastic (from my limited experience of one, plus friends here and in RL!) then it will take quite a while before he is taking enough for him to want to cut down on milk. So in one way, you are absolutely continuing to meet all his nutritional needs through BF. Does that make sense?

sambo303triesforScotland · 15/02/2009 17:37

yes, absolutely pertelote you are right. ds is really keen but does not know what to do once he has shoved the food at his mouth. Have to confess it is really cute to see

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 15/02/2009 17:41

bless you sambo so sorry to hear that a lovely day ended like that. I agree with poppy and pertelote.
I have the same ear bashing from dh, re formula and food. I have been giving ds some bits last 2 days and he as taken to it quite well, but is struggling with some bits, so made me feel a bit smug when dh saw and agreed.

re formula I have been to shop today and bought couple of cartons,as last 2 nights has been upsetting seeing ds struggle with my slow or non existant 'let down'
Also was up 4 times last night and 7 times night before

You do what you think is right, and
I am sure your ds will let you know. you have done an amazing job, bf this long and it doesn't mean you have to give this up yet.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 15/02/2009 17:42

Well i thought his bit of tea went down well, but he has just brought most back up prob more to do with my hand on his tummy and him bouncing away here.oops

sambo303triesforScotland · 15/02/2009 19:26

ds has a horrible cough - have some sootha but it's for babies over 1 year, can anyone advise how I can help him?

no1 your nights sound like mine at the mo hope formula works for you
