Oh dear bedtime. Sorry have not been much fun lately! Have a nice evening all and luuuuurve for tomorrow. DP in bed with a really annoying (to me!!) cough which had us both up last night in the short patches when ds was actually asleep so by morning will probably be too cross with him to give him his card.

ps poppy I have a LA sofa too, tis our foldout bed in ds2's room and the comfiest one we have but dp hates it, wrong proportions for him or something, perfick for my weeny legs though.

Glad Dylan better.

Night ladies. You are all fab. Sorry I have missed loads of posts today.

dizzydixies · 13/02/2009 22:36

Night all.

Glad Dylan's getting back to her perky self Dizzy. You'll have to give me more details of this factory... Our LA sofa-bed is ok. It's the high backed big beast of a sofa that is truly wonderful. Has seen me through many pre-DC drunken night's sleep, as well as two pgs, two early labours and two lots of small baby time. Would be very sad to see it go. But very pleased to see it exiled to a side room (and EVEN more pleased if we had one!) .

Happy VD (of the non-icky variety) to one and all!

hotterpotter · 13/02/2009 23:11

Bit too tipsy to add anything of any value and what a fool considering the number of times I anticipate being woken by DS tonight, but oh well it was some delicious shiraz

Mainly just wanted to say thank goodness you and DS are OK No1 we were worried about you and sorry to hear about your Grandma steaky I am dreading the day this happens

Sweet dreams everyone xxxxx

poppysocks · 13/02/2009 23:26

Sorry... meant to say how sorry I was steaky. My Gran's also a v. 'good age' and fading away. 'Tis sad. I'm glad that it was peaceful for yours. Hope you manage to get some civilised flights and have some good family time.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

hotterpotter · 14/02/2009 11:01

Hope you're all being spoiled rotten

DH brought DD down at 6.50 so got a bit of a lie-in, well till 7.45, (would have felt like the crack of dawn four short years ago) still am very grateful plus have had chocolate muffin for no1 breakfast and bacon butty for no2 breakfast and feeling quite perky even though we were still up 3 times in the night . At least DS had the decency to go straight back to sleep each time which is an improvement on recent days...

Speaking of which better go and feed him now, he is chewing the pram wheels with great gusto

itwasCYTEENagewedding · 14/02/2009 11:18

Morning girls

Sorry to hear about your gran Steaky but glad it was peaceful. Hope you get to share some special family time when you come over and spend lots of time remembering her.

Brilliant card VG - I am feeling like FLG today as have drawn DP a card packed with lots of sentimental meaning, in about 15 minutes this morning, while looking after the baby He is suitably impressed. Will take a photo of it later, I'm well pleased - not the most artistically gifted of souls so am glad it turned out ok.

Good night's sleep last night too - 7-midnight without a whimper, fed at 12.10 and 3.50 and back asleep in cot within half an hour both times...lovely Glad you did okay too hotter, wine is so unforgiving on the tired mum.

VintageChampagneAndGardenias · 14/02/2009 11:42

Happy VD all, hope there's a lot of loving going around. Nice one cyteen sounds like you are the FLG round here! Gis a look at your work later.

Taking the two ds's for a walk, going to try ds2 in the backpack for the first time, hope he likes it...

LoveBuckets · 14/02/2009 13:27

Hey VG, I believe S&M lives with a barrister - you could go huddle in the corner and slag off the law world together.

Our sofas are only 4yrs old but kids have wrecked them. Have learnt lesson of not to buy new sofas til Kurt is at least 3 but can't stop dreaming of new lounge decor in the meantime. We don't have food in there but they still get drawn on etc.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/02/2009 14:41

so sorry to here about your gran steak
hope you dh is feeling better after this sick bug too.

vg love that card, forgot to mention before I also make cards (when I get the time)
I made me own wedding invitations, place settings etc...
Not made dh a vd card though because he doesnt 'do' vd day. Always gets me a bit of something before or after.

pertelote have you had another appointmnet through yet??? Sorry if you have and I have missed it mentioned.

sazzles how is dd1 rash?? anything working??

ts how is the kitchen coming along?

sambo hope your finger is ok, and I understand why you wont do FB.
I have deleted her now. I f I saw her in the mood I have been in I would have 'knocked her block off' as they say.

dizzy glad Dylan is feeling better
vg how is he doing after his antibiotics??
cyteen that card sounds lovely too.

Re sofas we just recently got a knew leatherone.
Prob a bad idea, as not supposed to get anything wet on it.
we dont eat in room though much

hotter sounds like a lovely morning and breakfasts.

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 14/02/2009 14:44

Just to add I decided to venture out today for first time in a week and as soon as I arrived at the reatil park I had a puncture.
managed to push pram, what felt like a tank, round tk max to pick up some bargain Fluffle nappies (£18) and hotter I got that otter and stars t shirt in next size up.

itwasCYTEENagewedding · 14/02/2009 16:01

glad you got out of the house no1, i go stir crazy after a few days as well.

DP has now given me a cute home made card and we're going halves on cooking the dinner.

more weaning fun today: cucumber sticks were a big hit, broccoli was met with intense chewing (he had a bit of the fluffy green bit poking out of his mouth for ages, like a cow ) but general acceptance, and papaya he liked but found v frustrating as it kept squidging out of his hands i can't believe my little boy is eating food! would never have believed it but he really can feed himself, it's fascinating.

plus my driving instructor reckons i'm ready to take my test so quite an exciting day all round.

dizzydixies · 14/02/2009 16:29

cyteen am going to remind you of this in 15yrs time when he's eating you out of house and home

DD1 playing with her beads again bless her, dylan asleep in her cot and DD2 snoring on my lap

All is well

for the moment

itwasCYTEENagewedding · 14/02/2009 16:45

lol dizzy, i reckon it'll be sooner than that!

he's now kipped out on my lap...oh he is so gorgeous, i could just eat him up.

dizzydixies · 14/02/2009 18:04

DD2 only just woken up from her nap - got a feeling its going to be a late one here

LoveBuckets · 14/02/2009 18:29

We've had a good day here, DH plastered bit of the bathroom and we visited PILs. Managed to have a good chat with FIL about adoption and his childhood, gave him my annotated book to look at (also told MIL to read it too.) Am v chuffed with this because he has zero listening skills but seemed to take in the standardness of couneslling for adoptees. Will chase Council for info on Monday.
I also did that home food intolerance test kit on DS1 and was relieved to find that it was just cow's milk that came up. Fits my suspicions but I was dreading it being wheat too because that's so much harder to cut out. Will start him on a week's course of laxatives tonight too - eek! Might not be around much this week with all the (extra) pooey nappies I'll be changing!

AnnVan · 14/02/2009 18:41

Aargh. Tell you what don't ever get takeaway on 13th feb. It will turn out to be dodgy and give you an upset tum for all of valentines day. (not that we're really celebrating it, although had planned to have lovely steak tonight)

On a better note, I was nibbling aprawn cracker earlier today and seb grabbed it and actually ate it. was very cute to watch him chewing on it

dizzydixies · 14/02/2009 18:54

oh no Ann - seems you and Buckets have a poopy time ahead sorry!

pertelote · 14/02/2009 18:55

Bless you No1 for remembering (so glad Marcus is doing ok, hope he is soon back to his cheerful little self), yes we went in this week for pre-admission tests and to see round the wards. That was great as I do like to have a little idea what things will be like. We're going back this week coming to meet the surgeon. Also have dietician this week so we'll see what she thinks of our laid-back approach to weaning...

Cyteen, similar here - she likes fruit but it's hard to manoeuvre! Breadsticks the biggest hit so far.

Sympathies to your family Steaknife. We have an 'anything but ryanair' policy here... if anyone's seen today's Independent there's a story about them making a bride-to-be fly without her fiance the day before their wedding!

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 14/02/2009 18:56

Evenin'

You all probably away having lovely romantic evenings with DC's peacefully snoozing upstairs and DH's having cooked romantic 3 course meals with drinks of your choice, he will have hired a movie you actually want to see and all the LO's will sleep straight through until morning.

Now back to reality.

DD and I here watching Victorian farm, DH watching Wales vs England at PIL. We had an auction today so have been very busy. Romantic chinese take out for dinner then early to bed. I felt so bad this morning as I had to wake DD at 6.30 to leave the house for 7.30. I bought a pot of Plum fruit for breakfast for her as we were too short of time for banana and plum slices and she hated it she made nasty wretching and gagging noises and pulled some 'what are you doing to me?' faces. So we abandoned it and she had a toast crust instead.

Buckets have yoyu been to your new Ikea yet? Our Antilop was fab today, legs off into the car to take to work then put up in the kitchen and she sat in it to eat and play and flirt with all the men!

Bedtime is looming so back later (unless something romantic happens!) no I'll be back...

dizzydixies · 14/02/2009 19:13

Dylan has slept through the last 2 nights but she's been down for a nap now since about 4.30 so do I waken her up or leave her

AARRGGHHHHHHHH why is it never simple?!

itwasCYTEENagewedding · 14/02/2009 20:21

oops My DP is slaving away over a hot steak in the kitchen; it's wine, 3 course dinner and Star Fleet here

pertelote I can't imagine how you and your DP are feeling as things press ahead with your lovely girl's appointments, it must be such a mix of emotions. Hope you like the surgeon. I'm sure they will be fine, everyone I ever dealt with at GOSH in my previous line of work as a med sec was just fantastic and so dedicated.

petitfilowersandchocolates · 14/02/2009 20:30

Dh also slaving over a hot stove here, just had scallops with beetroot and pink peppercorns now waiting for next course!

If he catches me on here I'll be for it

Toby has had pureed carrots this evening and was feeding himself (on the spoon) for quite a bit of it. I give it two months before he refuses to be fed. May I also recommend satsuma segments to anyone doing BLW as he LOVED them this evening and sucked all the goodness out (had to be careful though as he was gagging on the skin and I had to get that out of his mouth)

Hope you are all having a good time this evening
