Sazzles I've just ordered one of these for DS1, someone on SN board recommended it. Needs a pinprick of blood though so will not be in his goodbooks for a while. Would recommend not bathing her at all for a bit, just wiping down with oatmilk.

No1 Keeping fingers crossed for Marcus and at your DH's tidying compulsion!

PF That's going to be one pissed off scary neighbour, careful answering the door.

CC Fingers crossed for you too. Would that put your return to work on hold if you have DNiece logistics to factor in?

CC no not preggers! haven't had a period yet and it would go some way to explain the stomach (that and aero bubbles!) but definately not pregnant!!

sazz have grand designs taping, I can't be watching it whilst its on and on here as its one of the programmes I care to pay attention to

the whole point of hidying is moving the debris/junk/mess from sight depending on requirement - if you were to be putting it away into loft/garage etc then that in my eyes, counts as actual tidying

No1 sod anyone else at the surgery, you're there for the baby and have as much right as anyone else - if you're that worried then you can ask to wait in a consulting room that isn't being used, we did that one year when one of them had chicken pox or something!

CCsbdayisthedayaftervalentines · 11/02/2009 21:46

sazz you have to be extra creative at hidying in those circumstances. Under the rugs? Inside the dishwasher? Wardrobes are a key feature in my hidying. I've been known to lose ds1 in hidying before a house viewing...

buckets luckily dneice goes to same school as ds1 - she is 1yr above him- so shouldn't affect work return. Of course I am worried about the effect it may have on ds1 but in the long run it is so worth it to get my dsis back, and to make sure dneice has her mum for life and doesn't get orphaned age 6 . Work are very understaning too, and my immediate boss is great. I really am a lucky gal all in all.

3rd bit of good news - i wish it was oliver sleeping through the night!

CCsbdayisthedayaftervalentines · 11/02/2009 21:48

dizzy am with you on the wait for periods to return. Anyone else not been revisited by AF yet since having our lo's?

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 21:49

oops friends stay in Greystones. She'll be coming with her DS to stay with us in the cottage/house/barn/shed/cardboard box and her DP (who is studying for v important exams) will be nipping in and out to visit us from the house in Greystones. I haven't really had a brilliant chance to explore the area either so would like to stay nearby (am also hoping to meet with VG) so preferably somewhere within 45minutes at most

now the bloody polar bears are falling through the ice and not managing to get back out I can't cope with this life on the edge tv and am going to have to insist we go back to watching Masterchef or something

LoveBuckets · 11/02/2009 21:49

Can I recommend midi-sleeper beds for hidying. I have a book case and 2 small drawer units at the front of DS's one to stop him poking, and a whole loada crapola behind them (inc the Christmas tree.)

We have huge lofts but no ladder as the hole is in the bathroom. One day when I win the lottery I will have a huge playroom in the loft for the kids. After I've replaced the 20yr old kitchen. And blockpaved the front garden into a drive. And bought the adjoining semi and knocked through into one massive house. And the kids have grown up and moved out.

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 21:52

buckets for that amount of work you'll need TS over for the weekend to help out!

CC thank goodness for your understanding boss

sorry AF's been here like clockwork every 30 days for the last five months. She knows I don't like to worry.

LoveBuckets · 11/02/2009 21:54

Ah bllcks still haven't booked my smear test. Wonder why it keeps slipping my mind?

itwasCYTEENagewedding · 11/02/2009 21:54

no1 I think pf is right, this is worrying and you've been anxious about it for a while, don't wait if you think he needs more prompt looking after I'm also thinking of you. Get well soon Marcus - make your mum happy, do a big wee!

CC that is great news about the house, best of luck with your ongoing negotiations. And even better news about your sister - really hopeful that a corner may be turned soon

Sazz I am honestly shocked by your oil company and would advise sending a stiff letter right to the top explaining exactly how they've lost your business.

On the job front, DP got a no from one company (expected, but still ) and is still waiting to hear from the other one. We are not hopeful

Had more to say but we have been up and down the stairs all evening trying to settle a lightly sleeping boy - he is now fighting sleep in DP's arms so I'm off to bed and hoping that a comforting boob will do the trick.

TwilightSurfer · 11/02/2009 21:54

WOW I'm liking the GOOD NEWS bit. I think we should all find one good thing every day and point it out. Even if the day is utter CRAP.

adverts? adverts? whats the point of Sky+ if you have to indure adverts no no no no not in my house!!!

TS trust your AF to be like clockwork, you even manage to organise that brilliantly

Sazz good news for the smear, I really must book mine as got a reminder through to get it done. need that and the dentist and the hairdresser - must make sure I don't get the mixed up!!!

petitfilowersandchocolates · 11/02/2009 21:56

Buckets Yes I know, I just hope her dp hasn't taken the baby or anything like that (she didn't appear to have him with her and was inconsolable). He put (most of) our new bathroom in for us recently but fell out with my dh and lately we have been civil but not friendly with them. He still has our house keys in case of emergencies - have told dh I am not happy and he has to get them back.

no1 Don't worry about your bug. A lot of other people in the surgery will have something infectious too and they won't have worried about going in! If you don't want to go to the surgery go to A&E - at least you would have the comfort of seeing a paediatrician direct. Am not sure I would wait 48 hours with a baby this little. I am saying that not to panic you but because GPs have to know everything about everything and sometimes you just need a specialist.

CCsbdayisthedayaftervalentines · 11/02/2009 21:58

must confess am not missing AF in the slightest. Although if I am planning to go cold turkey and stop bfing this weekend, she may arrive back sooner than later

Oliver was in nursery today. They phoned me at 2.30 because he was screaming blue murder everytime they tried him with formula. They were worried he was about to bust a blood vessel . I think the time to stop bfing has come. I am ready. I want my boobs back, and I want to stop whilst I still like it rather than end up resenting it like I did with ds1.

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 21:58

ok

Good news from Dixie household today

Dylan smiling again and ate a wee bit of yogurt so must be on the mend

AND they're all asleep since 7pm

AND they all ate their tea without a barney

petitfilowersandchocolates · 11/02/2009 21:58

Cc No sign of period here either (sorry can't bring myself to call it AF!)

Buckets - I'm going to be bossy - I have two friends who've had to have treatment for cancerous cells lately so please book it

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 22:00
