Queen of hidying here. Cleaning here involves creating piles of stuff, moving to one side to clean and then replacing afterwards. Drives DH nuts.

Sickness, falling down stairs, cutting tips of fingers....ladies ladies {{{{HUGS}}}} {{{HUGS}}}}

Just waiting for Dorothy's house to fall here. Seems my joking comment about school being closed next due to wind has come true. The town is sitting in wait of a storm band full of tornadoes. Now where are my ruby slippers.

Before the power goes I just wanted to add new countertops to my list. Ordered them today. To be installed Monday. YEAH!

Hope not to be typing from OZ soon.

yes we did Sazz, and we didn't talk about you lot at all

poppy how did the sleep/quiet time go? I just gave up and let them watch a Dora movie as we went on a wee adventure over the backroads on the way home and collected the car service bill £133 for all ok and needed nothing [sigh]

did you get my email btw?

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 11/02/2009 20:46

No1 - Sorry M is not well and hopefully anti B's will start working and you don't end up being admitted. Do you have my DH?? He is exactly the same comes in and has to do things even before he takes his coat off! I do hideying.

Sazzles - Dizzy's oats thingie is right - the oats softens the hard water making it easier on her skin you can also add 2 cups of milk with the oats as his softens skin. If poss don't bath her everyday as this will just dry her skin out more.

Dizzy am on the case -although I am not sure of distances in Ireland but they seem few and far between in that area!

poppysocks · 11/02/2009 20:50

E-mail received thanks Dizzy. V. interesting! Quiet time not toooo bad. DD1 confined for 30 mins or so, although far more sticking of stickers to every surface around her room than resting/sleeping, but she was in a decent mood for the rest of the day. DD2 didn't sleep at all . A little bit edgy but not half as bad as you'd expect a 6 month old to be on 10 mins of snatched sleep in a riotous soft play centre over a whole day!

about your oil sazzles. Unbelievable! Any recognition from them that you've been left with nothing with two tiny LOs in the coldest snap for years?

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 20:51

hurrah!!! I didn't make up the oat thing!

poppy Dylan fell asleep in the car and went down in her cot but not for long so fingers crossed for tonight

poppysocks · 11/02/2009 20:56

Couldn't believe DD2 not sleeping on the way home, Dizzy. DD1 was dropping off, but kept her awake in the hope of saving it for home. Oh well...

my god TS you are a human dynamo!

batton down the hatches though

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 11/02/2009 21:13

Dizzy - what about this

petitfilowersandchocolates · 11/02/2009 21:13

I've done the oats thing before when ds1 had chickenpox (at 14 months ..... I do not recommend the experience) Hope it works for you sazz.

Next door neighbour has just been round with a policeman to ask for the spare keys. Says she is probably leaving. I think she was scared to go back to her house alone (her dp is a kickboxing Beckhamalike but more than slightly OCDesque and an extreme perfectionist - I think he might have hit her - they have a 9 month old)

I am thinking of starting a thread about 'hidying' - I think it has potential to get on the home page

I am worried about Marcus - no1 - I am thinking of you. Not sure you should wait 48 hours myself - I think go by your instinct.

TwilightSurfer · 11/02/2009 21:15

who just had a meet up? when? where? do you have picture proof??

storm over. now it's cold again.

sazzles there are no perks for me having a dh at the ONLY power company in town. he even leaves me to fend for myself when there's massive power outages. cRaZy!

as for all the non-sleepers, you're going to have find a new poster child because reese lost her crown last night. no respecting six month old will ever look up to her again, i'm afraid.

Flying past to say Hi! Bartering still going on for our house plus the house we want! Fingers crossed and prayers a plenty. We also have another lady coming back for a 2nd viewing tomorrow.

Spent the morning with dsis. She agrees she needs to go into rehab properly, for a couple of months or more. I hope I have managed to persuade her to do it now, whilst her liver still has some function, rather than wait til the summer holidays as she planned too . She should be speaking to her key worker tomorrow to try and get it sorted out. Please keep her in your prayers. Thanks so much.

That said, I'm off to drink a well earned glass of wine . I guess the difference is I can take it or leave it.

TwilightSurfer · 11/02/2009 21:19

No1 is Marcus sweating at all? When you put your finger on his skin does it mush in (leave a dimpled imprint)?

CCsbdayisthedayaftervalentines · 11/02/2009 21:20

Am loving the hidying idea. Must read more about it but think i have the potential to be a FHG

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 11/02/2009 21:21

cc oh that is fantastic news about your dsis. I am so glad you managed to talk and she listened. I will cross all my fingers she follows this through.

and fantastic news about the house.

Yes you do deserve that glass, and great you can keep your sense of hunour through this tough time

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 21:22

oops had seen that one and discounted it as we would need the 4 bed one and it was too expensive

TS poppy very kindly described me as proof, although she forgot to mention soaking wet hair (even if it IS proof of shower) yogurt covered top and DH's hoody grabbed on way out of door

bless you poppy

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 11/02/2009 21:24

I have absolutley no idea what Hunour is

ts I havnt checked that tbh
pf If he is the same tomorow I will get him checked again.
I am so scared to come into contact with anyone due to this bug. Would feel terrible sat in a doctor surgery with probably already ill and vulnerable people around. (if they admit him then I would feel even worse)
But am more concerned over ds health.

CCsbdayisthedayaftervalentines · 11/02/2009 21:25

no1 am sorry to hear Marcus is poorly too. If you are concerned either ring NHSdirect, or take him to A&E. Trust your instincts, you know him better than anyone! Praying he recovers very soon ((((hugs))))

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 21:30

dh making me watch fecking nature programmes where the fox keeps eating the chicks - now I KNOW it has to happen but I don't want to see it, breaks my fecking heart - sodding circle of life stupid food chain

dizzyTHETARTANARMYdixies · 11/02/2009 21:31

I am aware I am pathetic

oopsRonanOGarascoconuts · 11/02/2009 21:35

Cool Dizzy - how far from Bray/Greystones is too far - how about some boundaries

CCsbdayisthedayaftervalentines · 11/02/2009 21:36

Not pg are you dizzy?

TwilightSurfer · 11/02/2009 21:37

No1 just thought maybe he might be showing signs of loosing the water elsewhere by sweating OR holding the water by mushy skin. Forgive me if you've already mentioned it but are you sure of his intake? If he's not getting enough BM now and hasn't for several days then his output might be proper and his paleness due to lack of BM. Throw tomatoes at me if this was part of the conversation days ago. I've been a horrible friend not keeping up better. I promise to do better.
